I give up

offer everyone you meet 10% in 3 months or less if they hand you some money right now
buy bitcoin
wait 48 hours
sell bitcoin
Profit!!!!!!!!!  Grin Grin Grin

we could try. but most people don't understand money/savings/finance enough. They won't see how this is a good deal. The average American would rather spend their money than invest for their future. They shall have a less prosperous future due to their own ignorance

You can show a horse bitcoin but can't make him buy

Sounds like a ponzi scheme. This is how you should do it:

Quote
ask everyone for money (DO NOT offer 10% in 3 months or less)
buy bitcoin
wait 48 hours
sell bitcoin
Profit!!!!!!!!!  Grin Grin Grin

that would only work for family

unfortunately "can i borrow $500 to help fix my car thats broke" would actually work better than "can I borrow $500 to return you $550 next month?"

Poor people like to throw money in a hole or down the toilet more than into a cloning machine

Man, there is seriously a flood of money pouring into the system right now.  There's never been a better time to sell thousands of BTCs if you have that many.

Is it tho? if you had 1000s of coins you want to pay the fees? you realize that 1000 coinsnow is 29,000, if it drops only a few dollars you stand to gain what a couple grand? what if your wrong? now you have to buy back inat a loss, Mind you that this isnt 100s of dollars we are talking about, this loss isnot a loss like a normal average run of the mill income person, this loss is SHITTY,

risk and reward bro, if somene who has that many wants to stab at it for the small gains they are more than welcome to do it,

people buying 50K+ bitcoin would be foolish not to start selling it off slowly when their bet actually pays off...
doing Number_of_coins * MTGOX_last_price != what you'd get when you finally capitalize on your risky investment.

... just putting up a 50K ask wall would mean 5% or less unrealized "profit" ...

What about a 10k Btc ask wall?

What about a 10k Btc ask wall?

10k Btc ask wall placed at 29.85 will cause a price crash down to 28.85

$28.85 is umm...a crash? That prediction is going to appear particularly insightful in a couple days when the usual weekly dip occurs anyway...you should have waited a day to offer it.

I have a feeling it won't take much longer for the difficulty to skyrocket big time, due to ASICS.

Ah, it's weird, just read the last 2 pages of thread and wanted to quote 2 guys reflecting perfectly what I'm thinking:

Honestly the price holding up for this long after such a big initial buy speaks volume

if there is a drop in price, I welcome it, I have an overwhelming gutfeeling that if it does drop its only goin to recoop and reach new highs as it did the past 2 times

Ya guys the market is going to drop to 20 dollars because you know thats how shit works it goes up and down... (WRONG)

What makes everyone think that big holders are going to just drop their coins? look a what bitcoin has been doing... it would be fucking MORONIC to sell big holdings at this moment when waiting has proven o give back 100%+++ returns, Why would someone with a shit ton of money waste their fucking time to try to make a few coins but could ultimately FUCK their stack if their wrong?

30 is coming and a new high is most likely coming after that, any one who is saying otherwise Already sold their coins and are doing their best not to be wrong,

and

I can imagine anyone holding a lot of coins will look at the side of the cliff separating us from $30.00 and just sell in anticipation of a correction.

30 is literally a couple big buys away and only 1 more big adoption away from who knows where, Sell off can happen but would probably only build momentum to blast to 31, anyone with alot of coins definitely didnt get there by selling in anticipation.. we shall see

turns out it was the same guy Wink

well, +1 +1 iamag

Once we get $30, maybe it's time to settle down for a bit like 1-2 months where it stays between 30 and 31, then do a massive lift off.. You know, get the bull a break.

It seemed like a good idea at the time.

all I'm saying is if someone bought 50K bitcoin at 5 - 10 or even 15$ he'd be stupid not to be selling it off, and should realize that he MUST do it slowly without putting to much selling pressure on the market....

Wether or not that's stupid depends on where price will go in the future even if you measure success in the amount of USD one has: I bought some coins at $2.50 (not enough, sadly), for example. I did not sell them at $5, neither at $10. Do you think it was stupid to hold on to them?

its not as simple as BUY AND HOLD... and making profit buying holding and then selling is way more complicated when your dealing with 50K + bitcoin, the liquidity on this market is thin as ... well its thin!

For some people gaining a profit on USD is not the goal. Some actually believe the paper money paradigm is going to end and the world will shift to using other paradigm. Taking that view, it's all about who will be holding the big 'ol paper money bag in the end. Avoiding being that guy is as simple as BUY AND HOLD.

I hope anyone new reading this thread that finds our resident permabears at all credible will at least read back a few pages and find that proudhon and adam have been very consistently WRONG for several weeks.

Take anything they say with a dump truck full of salt.

Weeks? Try months. Proudhon has been shouting SELL all the way from $2. You have to respect the effort that goes into it though. Who would have thought you could take a record volume of bids on the exchange and make it seem like a bearish signal  Huh.
