That dude could possibly be the next bill gates, depending on how he plays this out.  He's permanently a meme now, despite any efforts against it.  It is interesting to see how that in particular will play out and it is ... STILL extremely exciting to be part of this community (and perhaps history in general!)

zhoutong made a the first trading platform which alowed users to short sell bitcoin (or go long) with leverage( meaning you could trade with up to 10times more money then you actually had in the account)

the catch was if you went short and the price went up to much all your funds would go to zhoutong.

so we called it getting zhoutonged

Not exactly... He sold out to Intersango, and then it "got hacked"...
And now it's in liquidation.

Edit:  at the time BTC was in a downward trend, so any tool that facilitated shorting (especially on leverage) was welcome and enticing -- Bitcoinica was said tool.
