I dunno if I'd chase this big spike in BTC/USD... normally when you chase a big spike you get burned when it retraces. I'm patiently waiting for the market to become buyer-saturated, and will take advantage of the ensuing panic. It will be then that I start buying -- looking for a retest of support near $12.50-ish level...

I'm no expert but is what Adam doing not "shorting"? Or does shorting have another definition?
Normally, shorting means you sell things that you don't already own (so you have to borrow them from your broker/exchange/whatever). Otherwise, its just plain old selling. There does seem to be a few definitions around but this was my understanding of it too. So someone taking out a fiat loan to buy Bitcoins is in effect shorting fiat.

There are more whales who not only read this thread, but post in it than you guys think.
Dear Whales, How do you type so well with them big ol' flippers? I've always wanted to know. I just hire someone to do it for me. Just because we have a few million doesn't mean we don't like to troll you all once in a while I will reveal that the address in my signature is only my long term holdings, and that I was part of one of the spikes today. That is all. Eee, "whale"! did you bought 15K btc @ 15$ and now selling them @ 15.75? Did you invite your friends the other "whales" to join the party? In my opinion when a whale reveals himself then more big players are getting into the game.

Nice..... can you tell us at what price you got these? 4 pizzas I don't know if I'm being sensibly sceptical or whether hanging out in Bitcoinland has made me overly suspicious and cynical but... Couldn't our 'whale' have just randomly picked an address from here to claim as his/her own in attempt to support his/her username persona as 'loaded'?
