Why am I totally unable to login to gox? Clicking login does nothing. Missed out on buying at 110. Thanks gox.

Apparently someone has the following business plan:

buy 1000 malware bots on the dark net for $500

Set up $10,000 worth of buy orders at 30% below current MtGox price.

DDOS MtGox until the price falls to your buy orders.

Price returns.

30% price rise

$2,800 profit

First seastead company actually selling sea homes: Ocean Builders https://ocean.builders  Of course we accept bitcoin.

gox should have shutdown for an hour or so when the ddos happened and sorted everything out...
YES! This! I said this earlier too. It was idiotic to let an hour and a half worth of lagged orders stack up. A simple message stating 'the exchange is currently experiencing a DDOS attack and will be shutdown until this issue is resolved' would have done wonders.

Well, I hope all you sellers are spamming the buy button.
In the mean time I was trying to Arbitrage BTC China... its not really working. My 0.2 BTC are now tied up in 200 yuan somewhere being converted to Liberty Reserve in the next 2 days... anyone know the best way to get back into BTC with LR? I though LR was instant? Just not when the Chinese are doing it...

Yes. There is no problem simply saying, "We will halt trading on our exchange until the DDoS is resolved."

Instead Gox lets the people DDoSing and dumping cause a panic to their own benefit.
Only a responsible, professional business would say such a thing.

That would of required some level of professionalism and foresight.

Can people place limit orders on gox right now? Or is it only market orders getting executed? Btccharts says 1 hr since last order.

Mark ALWAYS refuses to shutdown trading, no matter how fucked up everything is. God forbid he looses a few hours of commissions!

You must be prescient to trade on Gox. Your bids and asks should be placed weeks in advance! Wink

Nonsense, I eyeballed the strong resistance points this morning and tickled the $110 with one of my bids from that time. Wink Remains to be seen if that was ACTUALLY a good bid, but looking good so far (until the next gox crash).

Could we crowdfund an exchange?
A crowdfunded, nonprofit Bitcoin exchange. Ultra low fees. Or something.

this idea needs more love.

Lol, no. I've been obsessed with MtGox.  Is it good press? I'm afraid to look.
