So who here, with this revelation, would trust Cantor with their money? We are talking a mainstream multi-billion dollar investment firm being involved in this. My my. Get Max Keiser all over this. He will have a field day with it.

The banking and financial world is full of slimeballs... I don't think anyone would be surprised.

This is very confusing. I'm just trying to find out if "hosted miners" actually existed, and it's hard to determine that.

BTW, I don't know if this has been covered elsewhere, but Eric Capuano and Josh Garza were childhood friends in Texas. They've known each other forever.

100% true, unfortunately... I've known Josh since I was about 15, although we did not keep in touch (other than social media) until mid 2014 when this whole mess started. Due to my own ignorance, naivety and just plain blind-trust, I've made many mistakes since I started working for Josh. I'm also taking the appropriate steps to own and rectify those mistakes with the authorities.

All of that said, I was also the first person internally to confront Josh regarding his unsavory business practices and to subsequently resign. I voluntarily forfeit all of my "shares" or "equity" in the company and moved home less than a week later. Since then I've been working actively with many others to bring all of this to an end, unfortunately most of those efforts are not publicly known due to the ongoing investigation.

I don't expect lenience or sympathy from anyone here... I'm wise enough to know that I'll get the exact opposite instead. I'll take the heat for my involvement, I'm just glad that the community is finally armed with the truth as this will hopefully speed up the process. Too many people have been affected by this and it needs to end 8 months ago.

Since apparently every conversation ever had is public knowledge, I'll share the last conversation I ever had with Josh. This conversation happened on 1/25 right after zen_eric was banned from Hashtalk for trying to share the truth with Hashtalkers.

https://i.imgur.com/gwxLo5d.png

At least you owned your mistakes and fessed up. You will not hear me badgering you.

By cooperating with authorities, a prosecutor and judge will look favorably on you for that. You may still be open to a civil suit but not much that you can do about that at this stage. I wish you luck in the future.

Quote

Who are we up against?

Groups:

Trolls Type A and B

Competitors: Zuesshash, zoomhash, all hardware vendors, startup cloud services,

Future Competitors and Financial institutions: PayPal/Ebay, Visa/MC/Discover, Payment Processors, Crypto Payment Processors, Coinbase.

Who are they:

Two Smaller groups:

A very small segment of crypto founders who are simply concerned like the orthodox church that science is evil, progress is bad, etc.  History is littered with examples of orthodox thinkers killing off progress due to fear.  Many of these are well respected individuals in both the crypto and business communities.

Hackers/Attackers a small group of skilled users and groups will always target us as we are worth a ton of money to exploit.  This is the nature of running online services.

Trolls Type A:

Have a lot of free time.

Have an actual not factual issue with use due to the 1-5% error rate in order processing of gaw and zen.

May have acted at a bad time and lost money at something they considered an investment.  (their bad timing makes them angry at us)

Want acknowledgement that we did them wrong and an apology or just want free money.

How to stop them: The company and a customer would have to approach each individual, find out why they feel they were wronged and come up with a resolution.

Trolls Type B:

The angry pitchfork mob.

"Protect the community from GAW"

Love attention: See scott booth.

Act like children by repeatedly poking and getting more and more personal with attacks which is classic attention seeking behavior.

Use illogical arguments and fallacies.

How to stop them: They need something to do.  If we ignore them they will not get the attention they seek, if they have a new shinier object to play with they will also go away.

Competitors:

Mined our coin with rented hashpower,

have a valid issue with us in that we innovate further and faster than they can even dream of,

attempt to gather the trolls in a timing strategy against us

Coordinate product releases and

How to stop them:  PR.  Innovation campaigns, flooding news, forums, blogs, social media with stories about us.

Future Competitors: This is the big boys (talk to someone honest in crypto+finance) PayPal, Ebay, Visa, Mastercard, Etc.   When you stir the trillion dollar pot expect a response just like throwing rocks at a beehive.

How to stop them: Stand your ground.

What are the goals:

Hold the XPY value down, preferably under $4 per coin as that represents the customer ICO value.  By holding the coin under $4 these parties will be able to spread considerable concern amongst customers and supporters.

Prevent us from being successfully with PayBase.  All new releases and features announced or implemented will be dissected in an attempt to find a regulation, a term of service with a vendor, a bug or exploit, or any other means by which our development could be slowed down or stalled.

Spread as much negative media as possible.  It's a classic smear campaign orchestrated from multiple sides.   The only two ways to fight negative PR are A) Admit it and move forward or B) Flood the same channels with good stories and PR.

The Miami conference is a massive target as preventing us from going would accomplish all of the above goals in their eyes.

FWIW I respect what you're doing now and I hope the authorities will look favorably to that as well.

By the way, I find it amusing how Mr. Garza repeatedly skips "not" and makes it sound like he's admitting what he intended to deny. "It was my intention to make poor choices" Smiley

Dubai may be a fairly relaxed place and the Free Zones offer flexibility, but I'm confident that even the authorities there will not take kindly to a shady "crypto" business operating on their shores.

What makes you think he'd be looking to set up in business there? He's potentially got millions of dollars worth of bitcoin to live off and a name in this industry that nobody will ever trust or want to be associated with.

Oh I don't know, maybe the emails where he discusses EXACTLY that?

Naturally, I will use people's excitement as the primary fuel for my plan

Tomorrow morning I will start dropping lines that the storm is coming.

Throughout the day, I will build the momentum.

Tomorrow afternoon will be act one. We will release the new paybase site,
and an announcement about the launch promotion. We will also announce the
Paybase Prime program. The paybase prime program is an invite only club
that offers first dibs on new features, rare promotions, voting on future
features and more. We will give it out to those that hold their xpy and
only use it to purchase with.

We will start creating buy walls and get everyone supper amped.

I hope to end the night around 14

Then Monday comes. Hopefully we will start the day around the same $14.
Naturally we will keep pumping out messages through the whole day. Building
the price.

Monday afternoon will be my final climax. We will announce people's wallets
to stake at the prime rate. Plus, the new Amazon integration. Presented
right, that can be the ko

I am hoping by then the price will be at $20, then paybase launches.

Joe, I will likely tell people that we are going to start rolling out the
Amazon integration in order of those that hold and

It's the natural thing to do.

Someone is paying you 1 bitcoin to run a machine that will generate less than 1 bitcoin. Why bother with all the expenses involved in buying and running the machines when you can just move money around databases?

If they were legit they would have lots of overhead and are limited by the amount of hashpower they actually have. By "going virtual" they have no expenses and can just keep collecting money as long as people are willing to give it.
