This is very confusing. I'm just trying to find out if "hosted miners" actually existed, and it's hard to determine that.
BTW, I don't know if this has been covered elsewhere, but Eric Capuano and Josh Garza were childhood friends in Texas. They've known each other forever.
That email from gridseed spells out exactly how stupid it is, if it did exist. "send me 1 million dollars and we'll talk again when you get 1 million worth of litecoins." On what planet is that a smart idea? I don't quite get the structure of that deal. Why did Gridseed need a deposit in addition to the maintenance fee paid in advance? Just a general distrust for Mr. Garza due to their prior dealings or were they trying to pull a scheme of their own? They needed payment for GAW using their miners. Not sure why they called it a deposit instead of a payment, but asking GAW for payment up front seems like one of the only intelligent business decisions anyone made in this saga.

Alright anyone have a quick summary of some of the information that has been revealed through these emails?
Summery: Josh lied about everything and it was all fake, all the emails tell you the truth to what was actually going on.

I don't see why Cantor would be involved with such an open scam obviously ran by idiots who couldn't even type a sentence. This must have been some employee low on the totem pole who has gone ahead and screwed himself trying to make a bit of cash.
Stuart Fraser is the grandson of one of the founders, and Stuart himself is one of the partners in Cantor. So no, not a low level job. That doesn't mean the rest of his partners had any inkling of what was happening of course. It does appear Stuart at the very least played a key, knowing, role in bringing some of the investors and more importantly, in legitimizing the operation. It remains to be seen if Stuart actually knew that there was nothing behind the curtain. He very well could have been trusting Josh who he seems to have some kind of relationship with. And remember that GAW when it was selling miners WAS a leading distributor of miners so it was legit for a short period of time. And one last point about the Cantor angle... those guys are in international bond trading, NOT venture capital. There is a world of difference and it is very possible that the smart folks at Cantor got bamboozled just like the rest of the folks on HT by a technology that they know nothing about.

Can someone please organize and re-host the dumps from the last 24 hours (or if they are duplicate identify so I can stop trying to chase down a duplicate):
1) Matthew Eden dump referred to by bitsofnews.com and by Josh himself in his post on HT, but the file they provide now is only a small 236K "sampler"
2) The Dropbox sump titled SEC Email Download Copy 2 (and is "2" referring to part 2, such as there is another dump "SEC Email Download Copy 1? or is the 2 referring to some kind of numbering of the full copies?)
3) The 5GB Torrent posted on bitsofnews.com but now appearing to be gone (my torrent is waiting for peers)
Other?

They lose 8/10 times because of technology adoption, execution failures, etc. but rarely to a complete fraud/scam operation. Napster is probably the biggest exception to my statement, but even there everyone was told of the legal risks and the $$ just blinded the best and brightest from the legal issues.

Good reviews take a period of time, but you can't just spit out your thoughts in 5 minutes. You have to actually review the product and take notes along the way.

100% true, unfortunately... I've known Josh since I was about 15, although we did not keep in touch (other than social media) until mid 2014 when this whole mess started. Due to my own ignorance, naivety and just plain blind-trust, I've made many mistakes since I started working for Josh. I'm also taking the appropriate steps to own and rectify those mistakes with the authorities. All of that said, I was also the first person internally to confront Josh regarding his unsavory business practices and to subsequently resign. I voluntarily forfeit all of my "shares" or "equity" in the company and moved home less than a week later. Since then I've been working actively with many others to bring all of this to an end, unfortunately most of those efforts are not publicly known due to the ongoing investigation. I don't expect lenience or sympathy from anyone here... I'm wise enough to know that I'll get the exact opposite instead. I'll take the heat for my involvement, I'm just glad that the community is finally armed with the truth as this will hopefully speed up the process. Too many people have been affected by this and it needs to end 8 months ago. Since apparently every conversation ever had is public knowledge, I'll share the last conversation I ever had with Josh. This conversation happened on 1/25 right after zen_eric was banned from Hashtalk for trying to share the truth with Hashtalkers. https://i.imgur.com/gwxLo5d.png
