For the record, I'm strong supporter of LTCD from the begining but I feel people voice has been silenced by new litecoindark dev. for some reason and I just feel that there should be open end discussion about the coin whether you have a positive or negative view of the coin.

So far, nothing has been developed or made any new improvement.

LTCD needs a new Dev,

First off it's a bad idea to piss off the strongest supporters, second is that you should never need a moderated thread in the first place because criticism should be heard and worked out in mature discussion, third is that you should never lock the community thread because you are busy with holidays. Just because you are *too busy* to answer the hard questions or do any kind of Dev work at all doesn't give you the right to lock the community thread.

Seriously, it's holidays and it's the time when you SHOULD be working on it because you have the extra time off. They want POS but don't want to even attempt to start working on it or have any idea how it should be implemented. POS could be coded in a week but I don't see that happening because no one wants to work with Vic

vicvelcro

"A while back, there was some debate about changing the coin name. Some were in favor and some were opposed.

Because the name was never changed and due to https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/josh-garza-gaw-miners-paycoin-challenges-litecoin-association-director-public-debate/

...we got delisted from coin-swap by mistake.

I wouldn't be surprised if it happens elsewhere. It might not be a bad idea to withdraw your coins from exchanges into a local wallet for a while."

It is official, litecoindark is DEAD

Hey Fellow LitecoinDark Supporters,

Has everybody seen the post of vicvelcro, please transfer your LTCD to your own wallet, just to be safe. I do think that this is a indirect result of the slowly dying community of LTCD.
If any of the old DEV team wants to share their views, please do, you listened to the community and the community listened to you.

I started OUR own thread, since we aren't "allowed" to post about LTCD in the official thread. Are there still holders and believers, eventhough we're being forced to watch without giving any feedback or any ideas or insights. My believe is that a community should allways be able to post info or questions, not to be moderated slowly to silence....

In my view, this long silence is killing in the world of crypto, alot of holders allready dumped since they lost faith. Also this doesn't help in finding capable coders and pro's to help with the development. For example the DEV of DogecoinDark offered to help, the guy singlehandedly build anonymous encyption and tech into DogecoinDark, yet no-one replied him...

Maybe I'm naive but I still believe in the concept, Litecoindark next to Bitcoindark or Darkcoin. The community is one of the biggest succesfactors in crypto, and I feel like our community is slowly getting killed by non-communication and lack of progress. I do respect the new devs and expect their intentions are right, yet they do nothing to show is anything about their way of work. I hope they realize that all their work will be for nothing if there isn't an active community....

Anyone with anything on there mind, please leave a post explaining what you want to see or what your views/opinions are. Please don't post just to spread FUD, be constructive Smiley

Any members of the old dev team wishing to express their views?
Any ideas
Any new acceptants
Views on the coin, views on the dev team
Course of directions
Just to let everybody know you're still a supporter!?

Please post away and show this community is still alive and wanting to support their coin!!!

Sorry to say but LiteCoinDark is really no different than a Coingen clone. I have much issues with POW only Coins and I have said on many occasions that POW only will always drive the value to zero. The problem with all Coins is that no one wants to be active in actually doing any development, everyone wants to wait for someone else to do the work. In the case of LTCD, no one wanted to do the work and some kid with no clue decided he wanted to be leader. In the timespan of on month he caused his two video promotion guys to leave plus atleast another dozen people or so in the moderated thread, basically everyone is LTCD was scammed by incompetence.

What do you do now?

I suppose you could go the Clam route and get a new Coin made in which all the addresses of LTCD are hardcoded into the first Block for redemption but that requires a lot of work on top of designing a new Coin. Even if you DID get Proof of Stake sorted out, and you could show you can actually code, it's still very unlikely you would get any coding help whatsoever.

I actually built a Proof of Stake only Coin, and in like 2 weeks I added in adaptive rewards, IRC chat, statistics, block explorer, use of minimal coinage and still everyones just like "meh". It's really depressing Sad

Personally I don't think it's worth saving LiteCoinDark.

I must say there is something wrong with this picture. If I have invested large sum of BTC into LTCD and with over time, it began to deteriorated to the point where the value becomes nearly 0, why somebody doesn't protested against it. The complete silent is troublesome.

I sold off most of my stash, while it still holds some value, only remains 50.000 ltcd. Made a loss of 3,5 btc. I think the dev team is slowly selling of all remaining ltcd, because this simply is just taking to long. Vicvelcro was waiting on emails from the others, that's what he said to me on the 3th.....

It's still a shame, the coin had some potential, community and tech wise with the first dev team....

I've tried to contact thru pm vicvelcro to get more info about this coin since the official thread is still locked.

Some friends told me that this could be a nice coin since there is now a new dev team. The coin have very nice specs and at the current price level it looks very interesting. But before deciding to invest I always need to get more information. The ann thread is locked so the only way to know more was to contact vicvelcro directly.

What was originally a simple request to get some info, the conversation went as far as him wishing me to be physically hurt and death.

He sees manipulators and pump and dumpers everywhere. Yesterday he treated me post the entire conversation here, so since I'm voicing about it here, you can expect him to post it soon.

It seems he has a bit of behaviourial issues, also the silencing about topics only deemd fit to him is very strange, if you want a coin to succes, you shouldn't tie down a community like that... I still hold 50.000 ltcd, I figured after all I lost, I can bet another 0.07 btc down the drain or to the moon, who knows, but it doesn't look good with vicvelcro in charge.

The current dev team does not have any LTCD. If you will recall, the whole reason the previous devs handed LTCD over was because the dev funds vanished on their watch.

The only funds available are what BitcoinOperatedBoy, Myself, and one other community member put in. Our funds that we donated into the dev wallet. We haven't sold any of those. Every single transaction into or out of the current wallets have been publicly posted with transaction IDs.

Your post is false and misleading. You've had PM contact with me. You know very well that we've been entirely honest about funds.

Why did you not mention that I replied to your PM with information about the team, the holiday delays, getting the to-do list (that was never completed by the prior devs) finished and then "DONE" being the next updated official post? Why didn't you mention that I clearly informed you about the extended time that will be required for those things to be completed? Why did you deliberately leave that unsaid? It's been days since you've had my PM reply with all of that.

What is your motive for being two-faced and fake? Are you possibly just maybe trying to manipulate the market price, somehow? Tell your community. It's fine by me if your motive is price-oriented. Just be honest about it.

Don't try playing your BS off on me or any of the other team members. We're busy getting work done and tired of the general cryptocommunity trend of hyping and talking all day and then wondering why things haven't been done. I personally decided to leave the official topic locked, after the holiday, so we can have time to get important things done without interruption. You neglected to mention that to your community, even though you were given that information by me personally.

If you or anyone else here wants LTCD dead, just keep on posting what you're posting. If you don't want it dead, consider that you influence your own reality by your choice of words. Speak poorly, things will go poorly. Speak with optimism, and better things are more likely to transpire. You have an audience of your own, here. Choose wisely what you include in the content of your diatribes.

I won't be here to see your reply. Your topic, you spew whatever you want, I guess. Good or bad, your words are your own and people WILL remember where you lead or mislead them.

-edit to add-
While proofreading, I realize I forgot to say 'Fuck' anywhere. So, 'Fuck'. There, I feel so much better now.

-Cheerio

Dude you have some serious issues, read your text back, insane assclown talk Smiley

I don't do the Steve Jobs hypish style of management. I don't announce the unforeseeable future.

Nothing has changed since the last update I gave you, so there's nothing new to say.

I do not want every type of discussion in the development thread. It is too common with the scam coins - posting BS 'coming soon' nonsense and letting the P&D trolls scream 'MOON' or cry 'CRASH' to manipulate price by inducing euphoria or panic. I disapprove of pumping and I disapprove of dumping. Artificially driving price is theft by fraud. A natural market price based on people making their own decision to buy or sell without any influence from others is the best way to avoid ANYONE scamming or getting scammed. However, I am a free speech type of person. People can speak freely in some other topic. Doing so will be almost useless because nobody except the scammers will go to those topics. I will not have the dev topic be perverted in favor of the crooks.

The reason I am getting bombarded is because I won't let the scammers do their dance in the dev topic, so they bribe, extort and threaten via PM.

As far as the emails I'm waiting for - I'm still waiting. So, really there's nothing worth telling about. Unless you think 'NOTHING' is worth telling.

The dev does not have a responsibility to provide info regarding what's going on WHEN NOTHING IS GOING ON. Genuine coin devs don't report NOTHING. Only the shit coins have devs that act like twitter-freak PR bitches. Those devs pump and dump their own coin and run off with premines as well as community members' coins when it all goes south. You won't see me acting like that.

Everyone who is invested had already done so long before my time came. LTCD was originally created as a clone pump and dump. When the main team was on the edge of abandoning everyone, myself and a few others came forward to try and keep LTCD alive and get it moving forward. There never was any Gen 2, it turns out. Everything prior to November 24 was all lies.

Fixing this is going to take a while. So strap in or bail out. There is no way to successfully rush this. It has to be redone from scratch. Completely from ground zero.

There will be nothing major to share for a while. The name "LiteCoinDark" has to be abandoned. It was a poor choice from the beginning. Just an attempt to ride on somebody else's name. That somebody else "Litecoin" is going to hell in a handbasket and it has already caused a serious problem.

LTCD was never 'very promising'. It just seemed that way because the lies were plausible combined with greed and hope of the buyers in an alt-coin frenzy. Don't believe me? Pull the source code directly from Robbert's github and have it looked at by somebody you trust. There is nothing special about it. I've had code reviewers looking at it since Nov 28, and they say it is a shit clone. I looked at it, and I say it is a shit clone. It was a sham and a scam. I'm hoping to fix that.

In all 100% honesty, alt-coins are dead and simply haven't been buried yet because people are clutching too tightly to a lost cause. Gen 2 is the only way to survive and it must include usability. Not just market trading and dice sites. Retail acceptance is absolutely necessary for survival. In order to have any chance at retail acceptance, LTCD needs a name change and a complete rewrite to make it Gen 2 that is secure and has features everyone WILL use. Not obscure shit that only 1% or less would even understand.

The PR man for this coin has been busy with college exams and an unrelated project that existed prior to his involvement with LTCD. That's why you haven't seen any flowery Shakespearian announcements. I know people like pretty tweets and pretty fluff-posts, but that's not my bag. When the PR guy can get himself clear of prior obligations, he can post 'Two Bee oar Knot Two Bee' crapola all over the topic. Girls will get wet and dudes will get stiffies.

Or, if I continue having problems getting a solid TEAM of coders to begin fresh on Gen 2, I'll hand it all back to Robbert and let him finish raping everyone.

Truly, I'm being 100% hones with you - you won't be getting any hype from me. Nobody is going to convince me to make a community post about anything until *I* feel that there is something solid and finished in my hand to post about. I'm not mentioning any TEAM until I have the TEAM selected and under contract. I'm not posting any advance info about features. Feature updates will be posted after they've been implemented and known to be working.

PoS, for instance. I'm not even going to guess at a date when it will be available. PoS will be working and implemented in test wallets and ACTIVE on the blockchain first, then I'll tell everyone to update their wallets. Instant success, by that method, and no reason for anyone to be repeatedly disappointed.

Yes, my style is different. I'm not interested in screwing anyone out of their lunch money. I'm not interested in fame or popularity. I'm interested in results, if they can be had. I'm interested in talking about the job when the job is finished, not before it is done. Odd, I know.

I want this coin to be one of the 10 survivors from the alt-scam scene. So, this coin has to be different and the leadership has to behave different than the others have been.

My best advice to you, because you seem to want fast results that won't be coming, is to sell off now and buy bitcoin or hold fiat. Check back in 3 to 6 months.

I understand that most people are sheep and they WANT to be mislead. They prefer empty dreams and false hope, instead of reality. Reality sucks and it's no fun.

I understand that it is much easier for manipulators to pull off their cons and scams when they can post in the dev topics where all the victims will be hanging out. Much harder for them to pull their shit off when they have to make their own topics that almost nobody will visit.

That's why the dev thread is only for news about what is DONE. Not about what is coming or what anyone thinks about it.

I don't want there to be a lot to read. I want it to be bare bones minimum, so important information and details don't end up getting buried under bullshit.

As far as "Everything there is to know about the coin" - That won't include discussion about price, hype, FUD, trolling, etc. Anybody who wants that shit can use the search function and find whatever topic might exist for that kind of stuff.

That won't change. Crap will not be acceptable in the dev topic ever. No need to suggest it or discuss it. My decision is firm, in that regard. The only info in the dev topic will be official announcements and specific discussion relating exclusively to the technical issues AFTER they exist and each one is complete (no pre-announcements and no cheerleading). All business. No jerking around and nobody getting jerked around.

Quote from: Furio on 12 January 2015, 21:55:25
BTW, can't you understand it somewhere that most people find it much easier and more convenient to get all their info via one thread, yeah it's a lot to read, but the real interested see EVERYTHING there is to know about the coin

-edit-

You managed to edit your post moments before I quoted it. So your filth didn't make it into this one.

Now see, here's an example of how most of you reply back to civilized responses from me. You come back with hostility, as if I owe you any goddamn thing. And you all wonder why my second reply is basically telling you all to fuck the hell off.

You clicked your mouse and bought coins on an exchange without me being there to do it for you. Be a big boy and accept the gains or losses maturely. You trusting that P&D shits would let you get rich overnight was YOUR mistake. Not mine.

The prior devs gave you all the hype and a list of features they never produced. It wasn't me.

When they were abandoning the coin and the entire community, a few of us volunteered to try rescuing the project. It's going to require a complete rewrite. That will be the team, not you, getting that shit done. So, STFU about it and let shit get done right, for a change.

It's all going to cost. Somebody has to pay that price. It won't be any of you, I'm sure. It will mostly be coming out of my pocket. So fuck off with your community entitlement shit. Everyone knows that I'm always open to constructive input. Most everyone knows I do not hold back my temper when it's time to let the beast come out and play.

Act right and you will be treated right. Always my first choice. But when any of you try extorting me or bullying me or come out with the crybaby shit, you get spanked.

So, Furio, fuck off.

I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

You and I both know that isn't true. You PM'd me. I replied back with much detail. You came back all hostile and diaper full of dirty doo doo. My second reply to you was quite severely profane and grumpy. You earned it, so you got it.

-edit to add-
You didn't answer my question. I took my turn. You then resorted to name calling and said I'm autistic - but you avoided the subject YOU brought up. Now take your turn. You called me out. You wanted to play. Now I'm here and I brought the bat. Have you got the balls, Twinkie?

The question that you conveniently avoided was the first question I turned back around on you (and you quoted it in your own reply, so don't deny you were asked, the proof that you brought it up and that I asked you is in the box just a few lines down):
And just WHAT work have you offered to do? Cuss me out? Insult me? Bait me with loaded questions that you can misquote me on at a later time? Gee, thanks dude. Luv Ya.

Come on, man. I see the green light that says you are still online. I know you've seen my challenge. 28 35 40+ minutes later, you're still fiddle-fucking around with mommy trying to get her help with a comeback.

Let's do this. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=905643.msg10149724#msg10149724

Screw it. You're a mouthy coward and your panties are bunched up too tight. I got things to do. You're on your own. Mutherfuck me all you like. I'm a volunteer rescuer, I didn't create LTCD. A bit of thanks would have been cool. Silence would have been perfectly OK by me. But lies and bullshit aren't fine by me. Piss me off enough and you can stuff your coins up your ass and whistle Dixie.

Not to me, you didn't. You are either mistaken regarding which coin you offered to assist or perhaps you made your offer to the prior devs.

Your mistake, not mine.

Now, in regard to the most recently quoted shit from you:

The website doesn't need translation, but thanks anyway.
Your current offer to take over taking care of anything is respectfully declined, thank you very much.
I am not alone - I have chosen my immediate team already.
I should be the only one making decisions because my name is on all the legal paperwork and I am responsible for it going forward.
I am open to suggestions (except yours) but the final decisions will be determined by me.
Cryptos fail because people are greedy and kill their own golden goose.
One person does not mean centralization.
You don't understand the meaning of the words you throw around.

-edit to add-
I forgot to say: You are an idiot. Do yourself a favor and remain silent. I'll be disregarding you anyways, but you can save yourself some public embarrassment.

I won't contest or contradict your opinion that I am a strange person. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I suppose.

I only put a few minutes of my time in here on this occasion. Those ENTIRE few minutes WERE put into COMMUNICATION, you moron. No, bashing and PMs won't disappear.

I will continue to stand on my previous statement. Glad to see you noticed that.

Your assertion about what is ridiculous (by your own words) is dependent on the *IF* part of whether I want an active community.... Well, that's an assumption you made and it is definitely flawed. Nowhere have I ever said that I specifically wanted an active community. I have said that I will step in to preserve LTCD so you all didn't lose your entire bag of coins. I have said that my goal is to achieve as many of the features that the community ALREADY SAID they wanted BEFORE the current team existed. I have clearly said that I do not want any more added to the list of features UNTIL the current list has been taken care of as best as can be achieved. It makes no sense for anyone to pile on more work when the previous work from the prior devs was never completed. First things first. Why is that so hard for your brain cell to comprehend?

Don't make any assumptions about what my intentions are. Don't misinterpret my words. Don't put words in my mouth or into my posts. Don't project your masturbatory coin fantasies onto me or my team. What you personally expect and what I provide are quite probably two different things. Find a way to make yourself comfortable with that and you will find that you will be upsetting YOURSELF much less intensely.

I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

You simply don't understand that it's not important what YOU want. LTCD would have been gone on Nov 18 if somebody hadn't stepped in to keep it going. The entire coin has to be rewritten and you weren't going to be the one to do it, now were you?

I have decided for myself that I am concerned about what the community wants BY MY OWN CHOICE. Doesn't mean I decided that you crying about it was important even the slightest bit. None of it is truly important in any way shape or form. The disposition of my health and my immortal soul do NOT depend on any human desire, so what the community wants is not ultimately important any further than I choose to consider. You are making this way bigger of an issue than it is.

Seriously, you've boo hoo'd about your coin value more than once. Here's a tip for you - cash out now and take your 0.06032757 BTC ($11.76 USD) to another coin or buy a Happy Meal. You'll get over it and be much better off. It's bothering you too much and isn't good for your stress level.

If $11.76 is such a huge issue for you, you would have been better off NOT buying any crypto. It's just not that much money, dude. You weren't going to become a millionaire with that nest egg, really.

For all the time you've spent slinging your sob story, you could have mowed a lawn or shoveled some snow and gotten a better return than you would get trading $11.76 on any exchange.

In comparison, I've lost nearly $15000 USD of other coins due to market value dropping in the past 10 days. I'm sure you give a huge flying fuck about that. Well, that's how I feel about your $11.76 USD. No fucks flown or given. Personally, I do not possess a single LTCD at this time, so in that regard - you ARE rich compared to me. Which one of us is flipping out of their wig about it? I'll give you a hint - it ain't ME.

And lastly, about your "5 minutes" comment:
You were the one making such a big deal about me not spending time here but dev'ing instead BUT at the same time you bash me for having not communicated. Well, buddy. I've communicated plenty. Public posts and a string of PM replies to your silly ass bullshit whining about $11.76 USD. Fortunately, for me to pick one individual (you) and put a browser up on my 3rd monitor has NOT been too taxing on my time because I have 2 more monitors with other things open and running while you spend 40+ minutes waiting for yer mommy to think up comebacks for you to post at the big bad mean old man. So, really not a major hardship for me.

Today was your lucky day, princess. Let it go, move along, find your vaj eye nah (just sniff around, won't take you long) and rub it till it stops itching.

You simply don't understand that it's not important what YOU want, it's what the community wants..... yeah, 5 minutes.....

The official thread is locked because there is nothing official to discuss or announce. Leaving it open has only resulted in trolls and other no-goodnicks trashing the place.

I can't really give you any solid advice on what to do with what is yours. I could make suggestions, but I don't know what your goals and strategy are.

What do you suggest long term?

I can't find any worry inside myself about whether anyone chooses to *THINK* LTCD is dead or not. Facts is facts. Blockchain still going strong, transfers nice and quick, coins trading on the exchanges, behind the scenes work getting done. LTCD is alive, regardless of any opinion.

Long term - now that I can help you with. Hold if you got. Get if you don't have. Project is making progress, but will be maybe a couple months for the Gen 2 rewrite. Some little things will happen along the way, but the bigger stuff can't happen until Gen 2 code portion is finished. Can't really give any accurate time estimates on when which things will become available, just general estimates. It's no small thing.

-Forgot to say-
Discussion is fine, but general conversation does not belong in the main [ANN] topic. I don't quite know when people started allowing general discussion in [ANNOUNCEMENT] topics, but it isn't proper. [ANN] is for technical discussion and official announcements. All other conversations should be in a topic separate from the [ANN]. I know it happens in all the other coin topics and used to be in the LTCD [ANN]. Doesn't make it right. I fixed it.

The official thread is locked because there is nothing official to discuss or announce. Leaving it open has only resulted in trolls and other no-goodnicks trashing the place.

I can't really give you any solid advice on what to do with what is yours. I could make suggestions, but I don't know what your goals and strategy are.

Vivelcro why is the official thread locked? What to do with our coins?

Won't many people just think it's dead this way? Better some discussion then not being able to discuss anything.

What do you suggest long term?

Luv Ya.

As a matter of fact, I am the only one who can decide. So, I guess that means you are wrong.

You just don't understnad that you aint the only one who can decide...

I can understand the development part, but then it's the job of the dev team to start a thread about other topics, since we as a community are kept totally in the dark....

Well, your best thinking turned you into a crybaby, so there ya have it.

I didn't attack. I defended. I was attacked first. I won't coddle a troll.

I have absolutely no concern what YOU think about LTCD. You only want to get on my back, really. Your crap about LTCD is just a ruse.

People who buy the coin are not investing in LTCD (the project). They are buying the product from other people. There ARE NO investors in LTCD. You have confused yourself if you think otherwise.

You have no argument and nothing to discuss. You and I have had this dance before. I will not acknowledge anything from you in the future.

You and I both know that isn't true. You PM'd me. I replied back with much detail. You came back all hostile and diaper full of dirty doo doo. My second reply to you was quite severely profane and grumpy. You earned it, so you got it.

No. You are incorrect, again. Start your own topic(s). I have one, already.

The community is not being kept in the dark. The most recent post in the official thread is currently valid and there is nothing new. The official thread doesn't need junk posts every few minutes, to make it seem like something NEW is coming before it IS coming.

You want hype, go ahead and hype anywhere but the official topic. You want to grump and grumble about how terrible things are, go ahead and drive the price of the coin down. You're screwing yourself by doing so, since you want to sell off. I would think you'd be going the other direction with your posts. Don't expect me to tell lies or make up bullshit just so you can make an extra nickel.

I can understand the development part, but then it's the job of the dev team to start a thread about other topics, since we as a community are kept totally in the dark....

No apology needed, but thanks for the courtesy.

The fault is due to the wrong name being chosen and the name being retained even when it was strongly argued that this would happen. People don't worry about real thinking. They think about cute and trendy.

The exchange admin wasn't careful about removing LTC. Saw LTCD and assumed it needed to go, too. An honest mistake, actually. Considering the circumstances.

OOOoooo so you meant invest in it now! Then I can understand you Smiley Allthough the new dev has severe communication issues, he does seem sincere in his attempts to still make something of it. A bit of scraps to buy a few thousand, very high return or minimal loss, always a gamble, but you never know Wink

it might be a great time to invest it might not. as long as the trader does their own research they shouldn't feel bad with their choice. always a gamble but it is the alt coin game it's expected

Sometimes a coin can get pumped back up months after it crashed. Look at BBQ coin's pump in Dec 13 after it looked like it was finished.

What algo is LiteCoinDark? X11?

I did talk about this before that your best option is to go POS only now in the conventional way while you work on the design for POS by Trollbyfire. If LTCD remains POW only, it's going to continue dropping in price no matter what since it's likely to be months before it will be completed so from a price point of view it would then be better to sell now and buy back later but by then people will likely have forgotten about LTCD. In terms of going POS only or as a hybrid, there are several Coins that started as POW only and then added in the code that transitioned them to POS only and that would be better since it would take away all that sell pressure. Clams also used a large addredeemscript in the first Block containing all addresses from Bitcoin, Litecoin and Dogecoin for distribution so if your system is really different from traditional POS then you could do something along those lines or burn Coins for new Coins.

I don't own any LTCD so I don't really care that much, I'm just giving you some ideas.

This market is in danger of de-listing due to low trade volume and lack of user interest. It may be removed on January 23rd unless the average daily trade volume for the last 7 days exceeds 0.2 BTC.....

Ok, having read most of the threads for LTCD over the past months, I'm going to have my 2 penneth, I reckon the amount of the stuff I own allows me to do that. Since no-one can post on the official thread, I'll do it here.

Point 1 - Attitude.

Being the dev of a coin, especially one that's had problems and one which needs reviving, requires a certain amount of man management skills, which are obviously missing from vics armoury. Vic, whatever drives you to develop this coin, you need to realise that all this "agressive defense" you are offering, be that on the official thread or on here is misplaced. You need to listen to every single concern, be that abusive or positive, and take every scrap of information from it. To reply to every critism as though someones just insulted your own family is just not the right thing to do.
When you took over this coin, people had really high hopes for what you were doing, and your enthusiasm for the same. Now, it's hard to see anything in you other than some sort of power crazed zealot who thinks he can dictate every single aspect of the coins new development. I have at certain times in the past seen this behaviour stem from someone who is just so passionate about what they're trying to do, and working so hard that they see every comment as a critism. Vic - if this is you, I would emplore you to get someone to speak for you on these forums. Someone who can take a comment like "you're all dicks and there's nothing happening with LTCD" and reply with something like "thanks for your comments, I can assure you our development team is working very hard and we hope to have an announcement by the end of next week reference our next stage of developement. Please feel free to return to this post and give us a hurry up should you not see that announcement at the appropriate time." If it's a genuine query, you've just earned some "points". If it's an idiot, you've not lowered yourself to their standards, but still fully answered their question. Come on Vic - we're all looking for true leadership from you, not the ability to get into abusive scraps on a forum.

Point 2 - Community.

This is the key one if the coin is going to survive. Someone made a point in a previous thread that the coin is not the dev, it's the community. Absolutely bang on. But when a new dev takes on a coin, especially one with issues, the absolute, definate, solo, first thing they need to do, is bring the whole community on the journey with them. This means transparency, honesty, constant quality communication, having the ability to listen (see above), and basically being the figurehhead for a huge amount of people who have invested in this coin and want it to rebound. You have simply got to engage everyone with a view, so that we all travel together on this. If you fragment the community, you will fragment the coins very support, and it will surely die.

I know about this stuff Vic, and whilst I thought I saw good intentions in you in late 2014, they won't be enough to turn this around on their own.

Take on board some of the above if you want, or ignore it. It's certainly not meant as a critism, but you'll see what you'll see.

Love & snuggles....

That was me Smiley My thoughts exactly, only your words much better then mine, feel like taking up PR for LTCD, if Vic lets you? Grin

Just make a new thread, new forums. https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-install-simple-machines-on-ubuntu-12-10

A Cryptocurrency is decentralized by nature so you really don't need to ask anyone's permission as long as you are able to get support from the majority.

I would be happy enough to discuss it, but it wasn't my original intention. I was under the impression someone was already nominated to do it.

I gave it my best shot. I got hostile with the trolls. People said I should just shut up. I tried that. But now people want me to say something. Well, here's what I'm saying.

I tried to recover LTCD and have it made into what it was supposed to be with no corruption or manipulation or scammery involved. I was not successful. The only way forward is through crookery which I will not be a part of.

Coders haven't provided anything they committed to. Current condition is abysmal. It will take more than 1 person to get it straightened out. I can't get enough honest people to make it happen. It looks like it wouldn't be worth the effort, anymore.

Sell.

I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Nope. It was frustrating over the holiday. It became clearly evident TODAY that LTCD is dead and worthless. I posted the moment I found out.

An official announcement will be made by Alec if he ever gets off his ass. Otherwise, you'll have to suffer with one last post from me.

My attitude was fine early on. You shitheads are what ruined my optimistic outlook. The overall bad situation with LTCD before being left by the previous devs was so far gone that they didn't want to pursue it anymore. 2 months later, now I know why. Every one of us was duped, all along. You, the other members of the community, and me.

LTCD died in November when the prior devs dropped it like a hot political scandal. LTCD is officially dead today. I could not get enough honest people to recover the project. Nothing more to discuss. No complaining or bitching will change that.

Sell.

Stop.

I didn't know at the beginning. I honestly believed it could be done, and wanted to help NOT leave people hanging. I spent money on trying to fix this. All a waste.

I'm not arrogant. I got tired of my words being twisted and tired of everyone demanding that things be done instantly, when the fix appeared to be several months in process. Turns out, there's no fix. If I'd known the truth at the time, I never would have touched this.

Don't anyone bother directing any more communication to me. It's over.

Alec can say it. Communication was supposed to be his job since before my time here. Every time I post something, you all twist or manipulate my words. You all put blame on me for things that happened before me. Remember or go look in the original thread - the former devs dropped it because something underhanded was going on. Nothing underhanded ever happened while I've been here. I finally put enough pieces together today (with some investigation done with the help of others) to conclude that it's dead. It's been dead. They knew it. We didn't.

End of saga. No sequel.

Hi Vic!   I see your winning attitude has finally brought LTCD to the fate it deserves!

Well done,  you finally pissed off everyone who ever (foolishly) cared about LTCD.
Didn't everyone on the original thread, myself included, tell you this would happen?
Oh, where's your post delete button now?

Nope. The coin was dead before. Can't you read? I was unable to bring it back to life. Nothing to do with my charm and fun-loving attitude. Was killed by prior devs. Read the old thread - mid November.

Then take your foot out of your mouth.

My post delete button works just fine. Not gonna use it, though.

And whatever you've said in the past is just as pointless as anything you might ever say in the future. You are a troll and a scammer. Your previous posts were purely driven by your greed and your motive has always been to shake bagholders out of their coin. So, go shake it now. Buy all of them you like at under 0.00000100 each. Enjoy.

As far as I am aware (not even going to bother looking it up), that word pretty much has one general meaning.

If my sentence wasn't clear enough, try this next one.

The person(s) who own(s) the intellectual property known as LiteCoinDark would likely seek criminal charges against or monetary compensation from any person or entity or group or corporation or club or organization or mutant or zombie or outerspace alien or escaped house-pet attempting unauthorized use of such intellectual property.

In even plainer terms - anybody even attempting to continue the LTCD project who does not own the project will very likely get slammed by the person(s) who DO(ES) own(s) the project.

Even plainer - nobody can take over LTCD unless they are permitted to do so. I don't see that being a possibility. But hey, who am I to say...

A point of note: LTCD project is not being abandoned. It simply cannot feasibly make any further forward progress. LTCD project will continue and persist until such time as the legal possessor(s) of the intellectual property known as LitecoinDark cease and dissolve it.

-edit-

Well, my OCD just wouldn't allow me to leave this semi-openended.

I smell a rat here, almost a scam on the back of another scam.

Coin announced as dead, yet no immediate drop in value?

Almost a u turn from "LTCD died in November. LTCD is officially dead today. Nothing more to discuss. No complaining or bitching will change that.

Sell."

To "A point of note: LTCD project is not being abandoned. It simply cannot feasibly make any further forward progress. LTCD project will continue and persist until such time as the legal possessor(s) of the intellectual property known as LitecoinDark cease and dissolve it."

It's either dead, or it's not.

And the somewhat false "An official announcement will be made by Alec if he ever gets off his ass."

Added to all that, still nothing about all this on the official thread, except "nothing new to post yet"

If you wanted to get rid of bagholders, snap up some v.cheap coins, any or all of the above would be ways of doing it.

I was dissapointed when I first heard this news, now I'm starting to get pissed.

a pm by vicvelcro, I just don't understand why he speaks like this, o well, keyboard tough guy Wink

Enough already. You are beating a dead horse.

You want to go on complaining - take it to Robbert. He started the whole thing and he killed it. We were all fooled. Get off my dick about it. I'm already upset about being tricked and upset about spending money to repair what turns out to have been a fucking scam.

Directing your continually misplaced anger at me is annoying on a normal day. You are missing so much information that I've uncovered at a high cost. So, leave it alone and/or go fuck yourself.

Forward progress is not going to happen. Therefore dead. Not abandoned. Legally different meaning. Abandoned would mean somebody else could claim the name, the domain, etc without potential repurcussion.

Example, if your car died and you decided not to repair it but did keep it parked in your driveway - it would be useless but remain yours. If you left it dead on the side of the road (public property), it would be considered abandoned - you would lose any legal claim of ownership in 30 days which would allow anyone that wanted to take it the legal right to do so without any repurcussion.

Why do so many people deliberately make my words worse when it suits them and make them better when it suits them - instead of just reading the words and using their truly defined meaning? I use the words properly. People don't read properly.

Actually there is no law against someone else claiming the name. PayCoin took the same name as an established Cypto but legally there was nothing they could do about it.

You say it like you could sue them if they took the name just because you want to keep it dead out of spite, you can't and would never hold up in court.

I did not say me.

The owner of the intellectual property resides in a country that recognizes different laws than you are considering or even aware of.

Basically talking out your ass to hear your own thoughts.

It's over. Drop it. There's nothing you can do about it.

We (at least I) are not discussing domain names. The subject is intellectual property.

So, to be clear:

Do you intend to make unauthorized use of intellectual property known as LiteCoinDark? Reply with a firm "yes" or "no", please. By stating which it is, we can be clear whether you are being hypothetical and trolling a non-issue just to be a dick or we can be clear that you have criminal intent.

Thank you.

LiteCoindark is not intellectual property since it's based on open source code. If that was the case then the old PayCoin could have sued the new PayCoin but can't because it is not classed as either intellectual property nor a legal entity.

You won't say "yes" and you won't say "no". I presume you could possibly be a criminal dick, then. And you really have nothing of substance to say or a leg to stand on.

Paycoin has nothing to do with this conversation. The circumstances are different.

Until you respond with "dick" or "criminal", I will disregard you.

Are you a "dick" or a "criminal"?

I know plenty about intellectual property and lawyers. It seems you do not.

You have not even addressed what specific intellectual property I am referring to and you've not even bothered to ask.

I will continue to point out the holes in what you post while not responding to your implications until you take your turn and tell us...

Are you a "dick" or a "criminal"?

It is the same thing, go consult with a lawyer on intellectual property laws if you don't believe me.

LiteCoindark is not intellectual property since it's based on open source code. If that was the case then the old PayCoin could have sued the new PayCoin but can't because it is not classed as either intellectual property nor a legal entity.

Thank you.

Domains are not classified as intellectual property nor are names of Cryptocurrencies.

I did not say me.

The owner of the intellectual property resides in a country that recognizes different laws than you are considering or even aware of.

Basically talking out your ass to hear your own thoughts.

It's over. Drop it. There's nothing you can do about it.

Actually there is no law against someone else claiming the name. PayCoin took the same name as an established Cypto but legally there was nothing they could do about it.

You say it like you could sue them if they took the name just because you want to keep it dead out of spite, you can't and would never hold up in court.

Ok then tell me how it pertains to intellectual property laws in any way whatsoever if the community creates new forums, new Github and changes the name slightly? You stated you don't own any Coins anyways so why does it even matter?

Are you a "dick" or a "criminal"?

I know plenty about intellectual property and lawyers. It seems you do not.

You have not even addressed what specific intellectual property I am referring to and you've not even bothered to ask.

I will continue to point out the holes in what you post while not responding to your implications until you take your turn and tell us...

Are you a "dick" or a "criminal"?

It is the same thing, go consult with a lawyer on intellectual property laws if you don't believe me.

You won't say "yes" and you won't say "no". I presume you could possibly be a criminal dick, then. And you really have nothing of substance to say or a leg to stand on.

Paycoin has nothing to do with this conversation. The circumstances are different.

In order to continue this line of discussion in proper context, I need to know if you are a dick or a criminal.

Are you trolling for the sake of dickness? Or are do you intend to make an attempt to seize control of the LTCD project criminally?

You brought it up, you showed your ass. What kind of ass are we looking at?

Very good advice. It appears they ignored me when I said it. Maybe your input will influence some people to divest before the option is no longer an option.

lol look at you pathetically waggling your weak little e-prick.  God what a chode gobbler you are, a classic mom's basement shut-in ITG assburger's case.

You, nor anyone else, can do anything at all in any practical case to prevent other parties' appropriation of LTCD "assets" if they so desired.  NOTHING.  the initialism LTCD   is not protected under any force of law until someone moves to protect it, and they won't, because they can't even pay for a half assed dev to fix it let alone a legal team to defend it.

The only reason you are stunting like this is because you know nobody gives a shit enough to care about 'taking' the laughing stock joke that is LTCD, so you will never have to back your fantasy enforcement talk with action.

You are done, you have no credibility and spent every drop of goodwill being a general fuckface to people who were trying to help.  And I am loving the consequent drama as you try to pretend you aren't the pariah you made yourself into over all this.

You want to be an uncivil ass and lob insult grenades at people safely from behind your pissant little self-mod topic scam shield?  I may have provoked some of it and i don't mind a little forum brawling as a result, that's expected.
But you also pulled that same shit on people who never deserved it and you had nothing to redeem yourself with in terms of results.  You are not even a proper scammer, you are a failed wannabe aspirational scammer.

Oh yeah - before you go there,  i already did your mom, she thanked me and paid in BTC because even she knows how worthless her son's efforts were to reboot LTCD.

No mom's basement for me. She was killed during a home invasion more than 40 years ago. So you're saying you did a corpse? You dug her up? That's probably some kind of crime, right there. It also makes you a self-professed sicko.

Your guess in regard to me and mom's basement is about as accurate as everything else you spew.

Yes, I and one other person can both prevent other parties from appropriating the intellectual property aspect of LTCD. You and anyone else can buy all the coins available at the exchanges. The domain is already registered and could only be obtained with the cooperation of the registrant. LiteCoinDark is a registered entity. I have exclusive rights (by contract) to be the only other authority regarding the disposition of the intellectual property. Unless the other party and I mutually agree to end our contract, I would need the consent of the other party to transfer to a 3rd party. The owner of the intellectual property cannot grant another 3rd party any right to use the intellectual property without my consent. We could both probably be convinced to sell the intellectual property rights for a significant sum (probably payable only in bullion).

You or anyone else can use the same open source code LTCD is based upon, choose a name for the coin, and have your own empty blockchain to start with and can fill it with 100% premine if you like. However, using the name LiteCoinDark would be inadvisable from a legal perspective. Using the name LiteCoinDark would also be counterproductive to a positive reputation.

There is no "stunting" (whatever you mean with that made up term).

Yes, LTCD is done. I said it first, not you. You saying it wouldn't matter anyway because you are a nobody and have no authority.

I haven't been a fuckface to everyone. Only to those who asked for the fuckface label to be applied to them, fuckface.

The rest of your bitching pretty is pretty much just you raging and trying to pick a useless forum fight. I'm willing to bandy words with you, but prefer to do the rest in PM. You already demonstrated that you are just as much a dickhead as I am. You by your nature, me by deliberate counter-attack.

I'd be just as safe lobbing insult grenades at you face to face as you are behind your keyboard. I'm willing to meet you for a beer and lob insults in person. I'll even buy the beer. How about it, princess? Can I buy you a drink?

There's nothing relevant to this topic for us to discuss. Perhaps you can start a new topic and title it Verbal Big Dick Contest - MikeyMillie the Princess vs Vic the Dick or take it to PM.

I see a real power hungy person here. I saw it in your earlier posts, I see it in you locking threads, I see it in you needing to "own" the name of the coin, even when you've almost singlehandedly screwed it into the ground, and I would bet you'd dearly love to have the ability to freeze this discussion too.

One of your only assets is being able to show up and trade insults with people who invested in the coin, and who have a genuine reason to feel hacked off and hard done by.

Definatelty not a good enough reason for anyone to put you at the forefront of a coins development.

Your attitude has been cited as a major reason for losing support, yet you still continue on with this tirade, trying to cling onto the LTCD name with supposed legal argument.

You need to realise that you are the catalyst for all this shit. Lots of people don't just turn up on here and think - "I know, I'll give vicvelcro some more shit today".

No mom's basement for me. She was killed during a home invasion more than 40 years ago. So you're saying you did a corpse? You dug her up? That's probably some kind of crime, right there.

Until you respond with "dick" or "criminal", I will disregard you.

LiteCoindark is not intellectual property since it's based on open source code. If that was the case then the old PayCoin could have sued the new PayCoin but can't because it is not classed as either intellectual property nor a legal entity.

I never started any tirade. I simply respond in whatever way I am addressed.

You and many others misinterpret what you believe to be "power hunger". There is no "power" to be hungry for. Ooooooh Wow, gee I'm a great big somebody because I have a special type of username... Really?!? No. Locking threads serves one purpose - to stop people from posting unofficial nonsense in the official topic. I've said many times that other matters can and should be discussed by whoever wants to IN A SEPARATE TOPIC. I have clearly suggested that people should feel free to create topics and to title them appropriately to reflect what the topic might relate to. Posting every little thing in one single topic is moronic. Messy.

I don't own the name of the coin. I have no particular need to own it or any particular desire to own it. I do have a strong desire AND a contractual obligation to discourage anyone else from attempting to use it without permission. I am heavy handed about it. Who the fuck wants to use the name and why the hell? Oddly enough, there are some oddballs and nutcases out there.

I have not singlehandedly screwed anything into the ground. Nothing actually happened in the past 2 months. Ultimately, there was no achievement made. It was down and screwed into the ground already. No way it could have been made worse. It was already about as bad as it could get. So, do tell, if you think you can - what problem is there that did not already exist? Dirty words? Rules about what type of posts would not be acceptable in the [ANN]? Which trolls would be permanently excluded from the [ANN]? And that was a bad thing? Get a grip...

I have no interest in freezing this discussion. I'm the one who told the fuckwads to create it and bitch loudly and openly about me, my family, my habits, which of the freak trolls are fucking my dead mom's corpse, who has the biggest e-peen, how dead LTCD is/was, etc etc. This topic is exactly where that type of discussion belongs. Because I said so. Apparently the dipshits never figured out they could have been doing it all along. It takes a dirty dick like me to point it out to them. I'm happy to see you joined us all here. You truly belong. The place just wouldn't be the same had you not made your presence here.

Yes, I agree, partly. My negative attitude and willingness to hand out spanks is an asset. It's not my only asset. It just happens to be the asset which was spoonfed targets that have repeatedly come asking for it. Welcome to their clubhouse. However, my attitude was not the reason to select me as dev. Dunno where you got that idea from. The choice wasn't yours and you weren't part of the decision. You weren't meant to know what the reason was. I guess you just aren't cool enough for the important people to spit on you much less tell you anything. Leaving you clueless has already shown that your own best thinking isn't up to a high enough standard to give any indication that important matters would do anything for you beyond hurt your brain.

If gaining or losing support by anyone is predicated on attitude, you all are doing it wrong.

I have not been a catalyst for "all this shit". I do confess that I deliberately intended to be the catalyst that weeded out the trolls and the no-goodnicks from the decent people. Worked like a charm. Here you all are in one topic. Makes you easy to specifically identify. The rest of the quiet people who were looking for trading advice know exactly who you are and what you're all about and to consider you to be predators of their stash. You bitched to drive the price down, then you bitched because the price was down, then you wanted me to give false hope so the price would artificially rise to conveniently pad your pocket at their expense. To a loud half dozen of you, I am the devil incarnate. I can happily and easily live with that. Keep posting this stuff and escalating it. By doing so, you more strongly reinforce the wisdom of my method to expose you.

You've had PM with me. You asked for information and you were civilized about it. I replied in a civilized manner and provided full answers to your questions. Now, you step in line with the rest of the bitch-brigade. You were the holdout. The hardest one to draw out into the open. Props to you for being a bit less of an easy lay. However, if you'd played it cool and kept your head on straighter you might have actually been a challenge. Bummer that. I think there's still one more of you fuckers still in the shadows, probably to chickenshit to come out and play now, though.

Nope, you are right about lots of people NOT showing up here to bitch at me. It's only a few of you. You are the minority. Many were happy for the extended chance to prudently make their exit a while ago. You can see some evidence of this by looking at the exchanges. Not many people left with anything to dump, they're already out. Nobody has enough to stage a fake pump, because they're already out. You guys are the stupid ones that waited too long because you were too greedy or too clueless to flail and bail while you had a certain exit.

I am disappointed that Gen 2 was never finished and implemented. Many people would have had a better exit than they did.

How anyone could possibly believe that they (you or anyone else) has an open license to be abusive without any blowback is beyond my comprehension. To believe that I must behave to a higher standard just because somebody wants to call names and pick fights with immunity is also beyond my comprehension. I have just as much right to free speech and the full use of profanity and delivery of verbal abuse as anyone else.

I have no concern regarding a virtual reputation I'm perfectly fine with people calling me names. Doesn't hurt me a bit. I can play the name calling game better than most. I can also be more reasonable and professional than most. I wear jeans and a leather jacket just as well as I wear a suit and tie. It's all superficial and insignificant.

So, now that there is nothing relevant to discuss, you all want to play the blame game as if it would change anything. Well, you all mistating the facts doesn't change the facts. Prior devs gave up on it. I didn't. Several things contributed to the failure to recover LTCD. My choice of words when I post have nothing to do with it in any real sense. Proven by example when I have posted without profanity, nothing got better. Also proven when I post with profanity, nothing got worse.

LTCD never had a practical use, like nearly 1000 other clone coins. No infrastructure was built when it would have mattered. The lack of Gen 2 functionality and absence of Gen 2 anywhere in the compiled code when it was claimed that LTCD was Gen 2 - well, that speaks for itself. The particular choices regarding PoW and block halving weren't well thought out. The name was a poor choice, it was a sales gimmick. "Dark", hah! That was a bad idea. I pointed that out long before the devs gave up. I tried to get a rational discussion regarding a change of name. Thoughtful people agreed while shallow minded short-term hype-junkies disagreed. Coders with bad intentions were willing to provide their services if I would turn a blind eye on their work that would have included malicious code. Those were quite eager to contact me and volunteer for free. I refused. One good coder had unexpected real-life circumstances arise. One good coder was available but his work would have to have been preceded by the work of another coder who ended up running off with payment but not delivering what was paid for. Ad nauseum.

My selections for who would be on the team were misplaced and I didn't do a thorough enough job vetting them. None of the team has been available. One person gave a few hours, another person gave a few hours and contributed some funds.

My complete lack of PR skills and my unwillingness to lie or make empty promises is so diametrically opposed to how cryptos pump and dump that none of you can relate to my bluntness and reluctance to make announcements about pretend hype nonsense.

Crypto-junkies don't want facts, don't have the patience to wait for solid work to get completed and fully tested. Crypto-junkies thrive on hype, fluff, bullshit, and market manipulation by various means. And most crypto-junkies lose their ass because of those very things. My primary consideration was to prevent hype, pump and dump, fluff, trolling, and market manipulation as much as possible. Most of the people who are militantly angry at me and attacking me with their posts are the manipulators, the pump and dumpers, and the trolls. They are pissed at me for being pretty good at locking out the bullshit.

Buying any coin on any exchange is NOT investing in a project. It is simply the purchase of a virtual item sold by another person or entity. It is not a purchase of shares or an investment. When somebody buys a can of soda from a supermarket, they are not buying stock in the company that produced the soda. That common misunderstanding is perpetuated and goes uncorrected by many alt-coins. I'm unpopular because I've pointed it out more than once, and most of you don't believe me simply because you think it isn't true. To be an investor, you have to contribute funds that directly cover a portion of the cost of development (hosting fees, coding services, certification, etc). Nobody ever bought any coins from me because I have never sold. There are very few investors of LTCD and each of us has taken more of a loss than any of you exchange-coin buyers. Yet so many of you want to have a say-so in what gets done and when and how fast.

Constructive input from the community can be helpful. Most often, community suggestions are stupid, ridiculous, and counterproductive. Just as often, community input is presented in a hostile and/or bitchy manner. Nobody wants to read that crap. I'm one of the few people who will bitch right back. Most devs will kiss your ass while their coin value rises to a point which is acceptably profitable for them to dump and bail. I won't kiss anybody's ass. I bought a few million LTCD at a price above 3000 satoshis. I still own them and they are not in my possession. They will never be sold. There was never any motive for me to pet you all or make you feel warm and fuzzy so I could sell off at a profit. I already figured out back in October that my purchase was a net loss. I could afford to take that loss. Most of you have sofa-cushion-money thaqt you were hoping would turn you into millionaires. My goal was to avoid you all taking a total loss on your unwisely spent money and possibly help you get out with some profit or a break-even. Because I know that most of you can't afford to lose your $11.76 life savings.

You've all fooled yourselves into believing you got inside my head and that you understood my way of thinking. Then you did your best to deliberately misinterpret, misquote, and/or twist what you thought my posts signified and what you thought my mental process was. Your own egos wouldn't permit you to even consider that perhaps my mind was processing differently than how your own minds are motivated. You were wrong. You've fooled yourselves into thinking that beating this dead horse some more will get you any closer to where you wish you could be. That place is gone.

Bitching now and trying to find the nearest target to throw your blame at is completely pointless. Attacking me is pointless but entertaining. It's a bit less predictable than an XBox game, so most days I rather enjoy mutherfucking people right back. Ask and ye shall receive. Seek and ye shall find. Beg me for it, and I'll rip you a new one with a smile on my face.

So, what's next on the pity party agenda? I might humor you for a while longer, if you can make it interesting enough to keep me entertained.

Hours from now, when you've finished sounding out all the words in this long-ass post, I invite you to come back and give it another go.

Have a nice day.

You or anyone else can use the same open source code LTCD is based up, choose a name for the coin, and have your own empty blockchain to start with and can fill it with 100% premine if you like.

Perhaps you can start a new topic and title it Verbal Big Dick Contest - MikeyMillie the Princess vs Vic the Dick or take it to PM.

lol look at you pathetically waggling your weak little e-prick.  God what a chode gobbler you are, a classic mom's basement shut-in ITG assburger's case.

Well, thank you for the diagnosis, doctors. Boring and unimaginative, though. If that's the best you can do, you shouldn't have wasted your time.

Nothing was said by either of you about LTCD this time around, which is the title of this topic. Therefore, you're off-topic. Couldn't you have come up with just one more thing about LTCD (no matter how irrelevant or incorrect) to blame me for?

Have you fully vented your frustration and helplessness? Are you ready to "move on"? Or do you just need more time to manufacture some pointless complaint and then voice it in the form of a personal attack?

I'm curious about something. What will you all do now? Did you learn anything useful? Or will you redirect what's left of your losses into some other coin that's on the edge of failure, hoping it will somehow rise from its own ashes and make you 'feelthy reech'? There are plenty to choose from.

I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

The question is what are you going to do now? since it's pretty clear that even if you created some magical project that no one would invest in it and any community with any sense would distance themselves from working with you.

I'm going to set the project aside for a while and spend the next 6 months or so deciding whether to dissolve it entirely or rebuild it properly, from the ground up fully and completely as a new coin (without a buyback of the current coins) before presenting it to the public - basically I'll stab it to death or I will bring it back the way they should have done it from the very beginning. Probably kill it completely because the name sucks. I also expect the crypto-boom is gone and there will be too many coin-corpses littering the interweb landscape by then. Or perhaps I'll bring it back with a new name. Maybe something like "CrestingtonLiteCoinDark". Make you feel good, perhaps.

Or maybe somebody will buy the intellectual property for 25/50/100 ounces of gold bullion and they can do whatever they like with it. It's for sale. Everything is for sale, if the price is right.

The question is what are you going to do now?

Magic?!? Is that what you look for when you consider where to put your money? Just ... Wow.

Except you and the other half dozen morons still here. You all would be the first to jump all over it hoping to pump and dump and then get out early - except you'd make the same mistake you already have and you'd stay too long after the dump, then blame anybody but yourselves for your own mistake of mismanaging your funds. Maybe we'll find out in 6 months or so. Maybe you and I will flirt back and forth again some day.

You should totally name it after me, that would be fantastic. 3-6-9 months, even a year would likely not matter considering you actively worked to drive a project into the ground and do your best to try and block remaining investors in the project from resurrecting it. You say people skills do not matter, I disagree because you are alienating the very people that are investing and supporting your project. Some nice words, and a helping hand goes a long way and quite often you would find that people would help for nothing just because they like you. On the other hand if you are going around calling people idiots and morons, they may go out of their way to attack you and your projects just to bring you down a notch. I know a few people that worked on LTCD, and did video's and stuff but would never return because they had a bad experience talking and dealing with you.

Just ... Wow.

Quote
since it's pretty clear that even if you created some magical project

Except you and the other half dozen morons still here. You all would be the first to jump all over it hoping to pump and dump and then get out early - except you'd make the same mistake you already have and you'd stay too long after the dump, then blame anybody but yourselves for your own mistake of mismanaging your funds. Maybe we'll find out in 6 months or so. Maybe you and I will flirt back and forth again some day.

You should totally name it after me, that would be fantastic.

I'll put a sticky note on my monitor about this. I'll decide later, if it becomes relevant.

3-6-9 months, even a year would likely not matter considering you actively worked to drive a project into the ground

I did NOT actively work to drive the project into the ground. Had I actively done so, it would have been done in less than 1 hour and would have happened quite some time ago. Nope, it was you and a few others actively doing the driving into the ground. Oddly enough, you're still at it even though that job is done. Strange people... (1 for 1, you're being false)

Quote
and do your best to try and block remaining investors in the project from resurrecting it.

What investors were those? Who attempted to negotiate any contribution of funds to finance any of the necessities? Oh, wait. You probably mean Bittrex customers buying product from other market sellers. Silly you. (false again AND a misuse of terms, that's 2 for 2)

Quote
You say people skills do not matter, I disagree

And you are wrong to disagree. Doge allegedly has a fantastic community. Doge price is nearly half what LTCD dead price is, and I'm a jerk that you claim has ruined the LTCD community. People skills don't matter. It's a fallacy. (3 for 3, not going in your favor)

Quote
because you are alienating

Disregarding, insulting, and belittling idiots does not constitute 'alienating'. One must alienate themself. To be clear, alienated community members are alienated because they chose to alienate themselves. (4 for 4, looking grim for you)

Quote
the very people that are investing and supporting your project.

Aside from myself, the only other investor is unknown to anyone other than me. (5 for 5, because you can't identify the mystery investor and can't even prove there is one)

Quote
Some nice words, and a helping hand goes a long way and quite often you would find that people would help for nothing just because they like you.

Mostly false. The non-false elements are irrelevant (so I call this one 6 for 6, you being wrong again)

Quote
On the other hand if you are going around calling people idiots and morons, they may go out of their way to attack you and your projects just to bring you down a notch.

Holy fuck, you actually almost got one right. But I don't mind being harmlessly attacked. I have not been brought down any notches, either. (6.5 for 7, you don't use words properly and thereby partially wrong - actually the .5 credit shouldn't even go in your favor because you mistakenly think that the opinion of people I will never meet even matters to me - but .5 credit is given because I do label some people as idiots and morons)

Tell you what - you and the gang run out and make tons of shitty videos and try to revive a dead clone coin that way. Make it a huge success. Then come back and tell me all about how you pulled it off.

Quite possibly have me there because I only really care about Proof of Stake which in that case would classify as an investor. However, I would classify some of the Community members in this thread as investors since they invested their time and money into the project either by buying Coins, mining, or helping out with various things.

Why try and go out of your way to try and stop them from running the Coin if they want to keep it going? Ultimately it would be better for you to hand over everything to someone, especially if you want to wash your hands of the project and have the time to work on your 2.0 project.

Both Doge and LTCD are Proof of Work only which ultimately drives the price to 0 which I have been saying for the last year (In terms of POW, not LTCD specifically), I also mentioned that you could add in Proof of Stake only in about a week. To do that you would take the code base, add Proof of Stake over top, set and end to Proof of Work and a beginning to Proof of Stake and reject all previous versions before the Hardfork. It goes a bit beyond that as well since you need to take into account of Staking over time and thresholds but that is the basics of how it would be done.

Doge is still around and even though it's lower in price, it still has a growing community.

Consciously or unconsciously it was done over time by arguing with people when you don't need to, taking criticism and advice as attacks rather than something to build from and shutting out peoples opinions by deleting their posts. Look at PayCoin for example, they constantly delete peoples posts on hashtalk rather than talking about it and on the reverse end you have Bitshares which seeks out criticism and takes all ideas on board. Had Josh Garza responded to everything and deleted nothing and actively involved himself in the community the price wouldn't be down 90% Bitshares actually increased in price since they started posting on the scam accusation threads.

You think I'm attacking your project or you in general, I'm offering advice and constructive criticism, whether you take it on board is up to you. I was never an investor in LTCD and don't really care either way except that I like a good debate, or that I'm a huge forum troll if you'd prefer that term.

I guess that is it or is it?  Lets cut the chit chat.....Is there any way to bypass Vic? Does he have legal right to LTCD? Is there any body interested in developing similar type of this coin?

There's no way he can have legal right to it regardless of what he says and would be too expensive to try to sue over it just out of spite, other than that it just comes down to if someone thinks there is value in resurrecting it. Personally I have no intention of doing work on it or resurrecting it because it would take some time to bring it to POS only, not to mention that there is no financial benefit for me to take it over and simply do not have the time to develop on every struggling Coin.

Can you copy and paste other coins that utilize POS and reinserted into "new" LTCD coin? (I don't know, I have limited exposure when it comes to coding).....If you are interested, you could do premine (for development purposes), right?

It's X11 so you should be able to take an X11 POW/POS Coin and paste it over top and use the genesis Block along with it's nonce, merkleroot, pchmessagestart, checkpoints, and port numbers, then you set MODIFIER_INTERVAL_SWITCH as the beginning of Proof of Stake, LAST_POW_BLOCK as the end of Proof of Work and make sure you cut off the old clients prior to the start of Proof of Stake. You would need to make sure that all the Block retargeting is the same unless you want to change that as well in which case you would add in a fork for that too, basically you need all the Proof of Work and rewards to be exactly the same otherwise there would be conflicts.

This is an excerpt from bottlecaps where they rejected previous protocol versions, they just used bool bad version but you could set it as nTime in unix time as well.

https://github.com/bottlecaps-foundation/bottlecaps/commit/418ec73d2b800514fc1617633f1fe675e123cb88

It takes a bit of time but I would suggest for you to try to do it yourself, most everything you need to change will be in the src folder of the sourcecode.

I already took over PayCon and relaunching ColossusCoin 2.0 in the next couple days, I changed the algo for it to X13 for POW mining in the last few days but my test source was X11 and functioned very well as POS only so you could pull from that spot https://github.com/Crestington/Colossuscoin2test/tree/57aacedb2f9f3900e680bcdc16d52915988d799f

As I said, I cannot take it on because it's too much work to try to run more than 1-2 Coins but I can help you with advice on making some of the necessary changes. You'd also have to figure out what you want as your minimum and maximum Stake age and reward per year.

I have a contract with the owner of the intellectual property. That gives me and the intellectual property owner (each of us separately) the legal right. One of us could prosecute in criminal court and the other could sue. Anyone summoned into court would have to make appearance or a ruling would be made in default against them. The summons could come suddenly and might not allow adequate time for a defendant to make travel arrangements. Travel cost would be at the defendant's expense.

Make an offer in gold, we might agree to sell.

If you'd like to start a similar type of coin with an empty blockchain and a different name, knock yourself out.

Dear Community,

It looks like the project is a mess right now unnfortainly.
I am thinking to restart Ltcd with a new team. Only the question I Will ask the community if there is support for?
I realy don't wanna put time in something what is not supported by the community.

Please let me know what you guys think.

Restart it to do what? Why even ask people? Just mine it and add some stuff to it but the coin is basically a coin-gen clone with no features, nothing unique about it, not even the name. You would be better off doing a snapshot of the balances and making a better coin.

The beloved dev that couldn't even code html, locked the community thread and then threatened to sue anyone who would want to resurrect it (which is complete bs because you can't sue for something that's a coingen clone, and open source)

As I said before, if you'd want to actually progress the Coin you'd have to bring it to POS only otherwise POW would always kill the price. It would take someone who is invested enough to want to make that happen plus the technical knowledge to do it.

If you want to resurrect the Coin then don't ask, just do it but make sure you block Vic from being a part of it otherwise you are wasting your time.

I never held and LTCD at any point in time but saw the damage he was doing and wanted to try to help the community sort it out.

Since those 2 months have passed I launched ColossusCoin2 (to be the replacement for ColossusCoin) and took over PayCon, both Proof of Stake only Coins. PayCon needed someone to take it over and so I did and even hardforked it for a few changes, added a bunch of features to both Coins. I didn't ask anyone's permission to do it, all a Coin needs is someone to take the reins and put the community first.

I would actually be quite happy to have some help with PayCon on the promotional side, got some Coins I could spare as well. It's already everything I said he should do, I'm not just a pretty face, I try to make a point of only giving advice I follow myself Smiley

If someone started a new LiteCoinDark I would love to see the fat chubby frown on vicvelcro's face once he realizes his code is a based on open source material and half of the name is stolen that he would have no possible way of preventing it's use.

Hmm, that actually sounds like a good idea..

Dear Community,

It looks like the project is a mess right now unnfortainly.
I am thinking to restart Ltcd with a new team. Only the question I Will ask the community if there is support for?
I realy don't wanna put time in something what is not supported by the community.

Please let me know what you guys think.

Regards,

Litecoidark

what does it means???
tomorrow we will delisted from bittrex, we wait for months without updates and communication, what are you asking us? What are your plans? and whats about vicvelcro, our beloved dev?

The beloved dev that couldn't even code html, locked the community thread and then threatened to sue anyone who would want to resurrect it (which is complete bs because you can't sue for something that's a coingen clone, and open source)

As I said before, if you'd want to actually progress the Coin you'd have to bring it to POS only otherwise POW would always kill the price. It would take someone who is invested enough to want to make that happen plus the technical knowledge to do it.

If you want to resurrect the Coin then don't ask, just do it but make sure you block Vic from being a part of it otherwise you are wasting your time.

Just my 2 satoshis

From my orignal 200K I have 10.000 left, go for it I say, maybe it will lead to something, the name was awesome, aspiration also, yet the result was ridicilous, and it's true, vicvelcro killed the community, no coin without a strong community, and vic seems to be an expert into pissing people off and being an authitisc insulting freak Smiley

The former devs killed the coin and abandoned the community. I and others came forward in an attempt to keep it alive. Code too fucked up, whiners spamming the official topic, scammers trying to bribe and extort me into helping their pump&dumps and implement code with malware.

My attitude is what prevented all of that from persisting. Me telling you all and some others when and how to go fuck yourselves - that's why you can still sell off today or next week.

Anyone who tries to resurrect or take over LiteCoinDark had better negotiate the purchase of the intellectual property through appropriate channels. Any of you are free to clone the code and pick a new name for your doomed-before-launch endeavor.

Have a nice day.

I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

My face is rather gaunt, actually. Won't have a frown on it. Anybody steals it will pay the partnership and will be prosecuted criminally. Wipe off your passport and pack your luggage, you'll be crossing a few borders on your way to court.

Clone the code, pick a different crappy name, shoot for the moon - I'll cheer you on.

You making this into something personal and making direct character attacks on somebody you know nothing about, and being completely wrong in what you say, makes you an idiot.

Most of the community had no trouble or problems with me. Only those that have posted in this topic and two others who finally gave up with the cry-baby crap. Look in the mirror and point to yourself, if you want to place blame where it belongs.

The only motivation I ever had for even trying - was to benefit the decent people by keeping LTCD alive and hopefully make it what it should have been from the start. Nobody paid me or the staff to fix it and keep it working. There were 2 donations - 50k LTCD from a community member and 0.5 BTC from BitcoinOperated Boy. Everything else came out of my pocket. I returned the donations back in January, in full and unused.

So, anyone telling me what I *OWE* the community - doesn't speak for the community - and can go eat a bag of dicks.

I am not disturbed at all. I am just very blunt about saying you few in here are the fuckheads that have annoyed the living shit out of me - to the degree that fixing LTCD was no longer worth fixing. All you want to do is pump it and dump it. Go do that with something else. I'm not going to do anything at all that will help any of you. Even at the cost of my own coins being held so as not to kill the chance for the smaller nicer LTCD holders to get out with something better than nothing.

Ok, you're right about sucking the girlfriend's dick. Go suck your boyfriend's dick. My mistake.

I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

probably just best to let it go and move on imo, I suppose you could use the division at any point in time to issue new shares if you wanted to.

Well my wallet on 2 computers has not been syncing.  Haven't run the wallet for 4 months and now have 0connections and last block was 14 weeks ago.
On 1 computer 2 weeks ago I deleted all but wallet.dat and still 0 connections.  Is there any working node left?

If the coin is dead, I am only out the time of mining it.

I'm have the same problem too. This coin has been dead for long time now and I see no hope of this coin unless we get new dev. (who has stable mind set) on board.

My wallet syncs fine and I have been jumping between 5 and 12 connections. I can also generate addresses. I did solo mine some blocks a bit ago which never showed in the wallet though. I can't believe this coin was left in inept hands and allowed to die. I also find it crazy that when the original dev wanted to revive his creation, those same inept hands would rather play "who's di@k is bigger" than allow things to continue in a positive direction. There was a great community behind this coin and one asshole single-handedly destroyed it by doing, well, nothing. RIP LitecoinDark  Cry

I was able to find some active nodes via block explorer. It's giving me 4 active connections now.

For the record, I started mining this coin right when it launched.

A word of advice for any newcomer looking at getting/mining this coin. Don't.

The current developer (Vic) appears to have  a god complex going on and a chip the size of Africa on the shoulder.
Dev also refuses to let original Dev and community to take over. Instead threatens legal action.
Then comes here and says LTCD is dead. That is was a pump n dump scam coin from the start.  Now this is based on the word of a hired 3rd party programmer who "couldn't fix/update the code".   That may well be the case, but we will never know for sure. Dev refuses to let the code be vetted by the community.

What I've learned from all this, is that any future coin this Dev is involved with, I shall steer clear of.

I left him negative feedback saying the same thing and left this thread as reference, good to know that other people share the same view.

Yeah "officially dead".  But you didn't have to bump a 5 month old thread to learn that, did you.
