There are differences of opinion on this. The pools will get ready and won't start to mine until the launch of the wallet. This seems to be the normal way of doing it.

I can vouch for my own pool and I won't start but right at launch time, not before.
I'm pretty sure the other pool ops will do the same.

It's impossible to please everyone and at some level it's about who clicks first and fastest so 1-2 min. before launch to Github and then I have to post the links and by the time I have done that there will a minute or so...
It's the same for me, I have to rent a rig as well and connect to the pool etc. I don't have any X11 equipment at home. So I'll probably be the last one to start mining after doing this.

The point is red line for solominers is diff > 1, for pools that diff is only start.
That's why if you wanna give a chance to not only rented big hashes, don't make big delay between source and wallet. Coz they will rape diff very quickly and sologuys will have no chance to catch luck

I have no problem if source will be released 1-2 mins after win wallet, the original "fun" behind a launch IS that solo miners get their chance and which pool is up "first"..

So if you give the source to pools earlier - the fun is gone for the solo miners and imho also for the pools, as every pool will just have the finger on the trigger when the second to launch time goes by ... We do crazy things to get sources compiled as fast as we can.. Ramdisks (thx Minerpools! , compiler flags, extra boxes with faaast CPU's for compiling etc...

At the end, its your choice, lets just hope the coin works this time

Ok, so at the same time then, that seems to be what you want. I ultimately want people to mine and use the coin so if the consensus is that; then I can post the links to wallets on the OP and then push the source to Github in that order but more or less at the same time. How is that?
