We've used the experience gained in mass production
of our singles in our SC production cycle (we've got a MyData Pick-And-Place and an Oven for high-speed and high-volume inhouse assembly).
Can you post picture or video proof of this machine?  Bonus points if it is running.

@BFL-Engineer/BFL_Josh/BFL_Sonny:
Are you going to do something to compensate the fact that the Avalon might be mining @ 60GH/s for $1299, versus the Single SC mining @ 40 GH/s for the same price?

It's only $1299 for the first pre-orders. After that the Avalon will be $1999.

you do realize you can't compare 2 items only based on their hashrate right? From what I understand, the Avalon will use a lot more power, but official numbers have not been released yet so we have no idea.

Additionally that we don't have all the specs yet:
The quoted price of the Avalon is just the pre-order price for the first 300 units.
After that it will be 1999USD, putting GH/s/$ back into perspective with BFL.

When will you demonstrate a prototype running, as once the ASIC is tested and proven then I can order more (as right now there is no guarantee that you will not need an ASIC respin)

Plug will be the same (5.0mm OD, 2.5mm ID), so it's possible to use the same plug.
Regards,
Nasser

Not meaning to be difficult but do you mean 2.5mm/5.5mm plugs or have you changed the plug type to 5.0mm OD?  Thanks

Tired of substandard power distribution in your ASIC setup???   Chris' Custom Cablez will get you sorted out right!  No job too hard so PM me for a quote

I'm really concerned about future concurrence, and I'd like to have a word from an official about that. Thanks.

500 units per day ? that's a unit every "less than 3 minutes" just to assemble, what about testing, baking and packing ? unless the machine assembles several units at once.

If the ASIC is carefully packed, they can assemble easy 500 PCBs per day, SMD only, given the number of employees they have and the machines they bought. I do run a similar business, I dont assemble ASICS, but given the trend, I do consider doing my own ASIC, lol.. Smiley

My question is why the picture on this page http://www.butterflylabs.com/landing/, looks exactly like a single rev 3? Will the SC single be using the same PCB and heatsink/fan design?

I believe that is a picture of a rev 3 bitforce single and isn't really indicative of the SC single. Just eye candy is my bet Smiley

when you buy something, not only are important technical specifications, know weight, dimensions and shape is also important.

Why at this point it is not detailed with photos from all angles?

Since you asked...I would conclude that it's because they have nothing to photograph.

But that's just me...

I was specifically asking someone from BFL. The price is not the only thing adjustable.

I would guess they have better to do than making-up strategies and share them with the public about a product that will ship next year, while they haven't shipped theirs already.
