I'm betting on something huge from Friedcat on the horizon....I can feel it.
The announcements that improved blades will be coming out in a month and that the next gen is on pace for October isn't huge enough for ya? Some details on these "improved blades" would be something huge in my eyes pants..

Why are people not freaking out about the vanishing of hashing power? This could be so many negative things

ASICMINER shareholders don't ever panic. Just look at the history chart.

Why are people not freaking out about the vanishing of hashing power? This could be so many negative things
Most in this thread are only interested in positive news. Any negative news is met with posts such as "Move this to a different thread" or ad hominem attacks. We are in a SERIOUS hashing decline (37 -> 17 Th/s). Possible reasons: 1) Something is wrong @ the data center and blades are being taken offline. (possible) 2) Old hardware is being swapped out with newer hardware. (unlikely as it's too soon) 3) Friedcat has changed his mind re: solo mining and is moving to a pool. (doesn't seem to be the case as overall network hashing is also down) 4) ? I can think of a handful of really really depressing fraudulent reasons but even thinking about typing them out is making my gag reflex act up. The truth is, speculating doesn't help and can only hurt the share price. Up to this point friedcat has been THE shining example of a good actor in the bitcoin space so I think we can safely rule out any nefarious intent. We'll just have to wait and see.

Since you insist, here's another speculative angle. Maybe they took hashes offline because they realized they could freeze the current difficulty for a bit while they work on getting the new boards ready.

It's totally got to be the bitcoinfoundation wanting a discount XD Or should I move that to conspiracy theories Interesting note https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=237710.0

Unless the 'large' hardware purchase theory is correct and the dividend is so huge they decided to give the blades a rest.

Personally, I believe that if anyone buy (or sells) shares based on the "idle gossip" in the days between real news is a fool. Speculation and rumours are 95% rubbish, used by people to fill the day. If you want to buy shares in ASICMINER, look at how they have delivered consistently since the very start, in both increasing share price and dividends. Same goes for selling. Judge it on real data, not rumours. I believe (hope?) most people are smart enough to know this. The share price is slightly down this last few days because the hashing rate is slightly down. The price will move based on what friedcat says, not when people suggest random "Doomsday scenarios" on this thread. If that isn't the case, and share prices really do move on rumours, I just heard a new company is preparing to launch quantum computers that will mine bitcoins 1000x faster than ASICs. Can I have your shares for 0.5BTC please ?
