Bytecent PoM per 60 mins requirement has increased from 70 to 105 BYC within the last 24 hours.

Is the PoM target requirement linked directly to difficulty and/or to other factors such as block count etc. ?

Can't find that information easily with Bytecent being closed source currently.

POM is based on multiple factors, but price is one.

I personally think it's someone trying to kill hurt the coin. Why else would someone dump that low? if they just wanted to exit the market they would sell slowly to earn the most bitcoin, but this person didn't seem to care about that so I'm thinking they wanted to hurt the market.

This is a good example of why the new upcoming exchange is so important, my understanding is that the new exchange won't allow things like this to happen.

JJ and I were chatting in DM when it happened. The person actually had a sell wall of 5000+ coins, and I had purchased Bitcoins to snap them up. Unfortunately, he decided to dump them before the Bitcoins were confirmed.

I am finishing up the latest podcast and I go into details about the new exchange. Soon we will not have to worry about this kind of nonsense.

The price of BYC over the last month have been around 0.056 cents - 0.060 cents.

In several weeks the price will be pegged against the difficulty, so the current value of Bytecent is not what it will be several weeks from now.

Yes, I did see it, there was a sell wall that showed up for 30 min or so, that we were discussing, and then the dump.

Because BTC takes so long to confirm, especially now for some reason, I missed the dump. I was hopping for some cheap coins but it didn't happen.

difficulty is dropping a little bit, not sure why some people have stopped mining. Hey JJ is the collaborative mining system losing miners?

Yes, over the past few days we have had fewer miners on the system. I have been busy recently, and have been doing a bad job of keeping my computers mining as well.  I will expect it to pick back up over the weekend, and when i can get the next version of the client done.

You can see the active miners and basics stats here:

Thanks, that was really  helpful!

Now I know that I am mining approx. 2.18BYC/day

But with the current prices is not profitable at all (earning 0.0954$/day with the mining cost 0.48$/day). So for me the mining will become profitable if the brice of 1BYC is 0.00088073BTC/BYC.
Hope to see those prices in the near future Smiley

As I said earlier, the BYC price should be ~88k sat. if you want to make some profit from mining. So I won't be surprised if it gets back to 0.001 BYC/BTC soon.
