Title: Does Bitcoin work for online shopping?
Post by: berluscoin on October 29, 2017, 11:15:45 AM
When you buy something on eBay or Amazon, you pay the seller, he ships the product and upload a tracking number.
If you haven't received the item, you can call eBay or Amazon and, basically, what happens is that if they have a tracking number that shows that the item has been delivered, then it is ok, otherwise eBay or Amazon reverses the transaction and you get your money back.
Is that possible with bitcoin? What if I buy a boat online for 2 bitcoins and I never receive it? Is bitcoin able to solve this problem?

Thanks

It's not possible if you use bitcoin directly peer to peer but there are payment processors such as BitPay that will help protect against this.

https://bitpay.com/

Basically they're just like Paypal for bitcoin.

Bitcoin itself cannot solve the problem because it's irreversible but services like Amazon and Ebay can hold the buyer's Bitcoins before giving them to the seller until you receive the item.
That's basically them being an escrow/middleman.
This of course will most likely inconvenience the sellers and they may choose not to accept Bitcoin for that reason as they would get their money faster with FIAT.

that's a very good question, if I think it's really very good if it really works honestly and does not harm the consumer, but maybe it could be your return of bitcoin in return dollar currency if bitcoin value increases price.

If scammers want to scam you on a platform like Ebay they have plenty of options even if the item is delivered.  But let me first tell you you cannot actually accept bitcoin as a payment option on ebay, you also cannot accept cash through the post either (thats the UK rule last time i checked anyway).  You can as a seller mark payment received for a product, this is an option ebay have and ebay wont know how you've been paid. So... lets assume you buy an item from an ebay seller, you contact them and ask to pay in bitcoin, they say OK and mark payment received after you have paid to their address. If they then dont get the item sent to you or its lost in the post/defective im assuming ebay will compensate you in fiat because it falls into the bracket of ebay buyer protection if you have had to contact ebay to step in.  A refund direct from the seller direct to buyer is a different thing, they would have to send you the bitcoin back else you get ebay to step in.

Im assuming after going through this 1.) ebay would warn you not to pay in bitcoin again and 2.) ebay would warn seller not to accept bitcoin again.  But yeah in theory you could accept bitcoin for a trade sure. I have actually accepted cash in the post before for an online sale (in ebay's eyes its same as a bitcoin payment) and everything went smooth.

You can shop at Overstock with Bitcoin.  They're a reputable retailer.

They're also having an ICO where they expect to raise $500 million:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2324406

Bitcoin is deliberately intended to be a non-reversible payment system.  In fact, satoshi clarifies their position on this in the whitepaper:

With the possibility of reversal, the need for trust spreads. Merchants must be wary of their customers, hassling them for more information than they would otherwise need.  A certain percentage of fraud is accepted as unavoidable.

Transactions that are computationally impractical to reverse would protect sellers from fraud, and routine escrow mechanisms could easily be implemented to protect buyers.
So Bitcoin itself is deliberately not intended to do this, both to decrease transaction costs by removing the cost of mediation, and to prevent the common possibility of fraud.  It's a fundamental part of a decentralised system.

However, some payment gateways and escrow systems are used (including BitPay) to help you handle this if you decide to.  The good thing is that at no point are you forced to use a reversible payment, whereas PayPal and banking systems are incapable of completely non-reversible payments.

That would be a major enhancement. I think it will come to that soon. We will be expecting a lot of changes everyday on its uses and facilities. Online shopping is so in today. Bitcoin is the most popular digital currency so definitely it will be use in online shopping payments.

Exactly yes in some highly developed countries bitcoin work on online shoppings. You can easily buy in a fast and easy transaction without any hassle free if you have an internet connection using a per to per system. This is the best payment that ever wanted in my country soon as the government in my country accept bitcoin.

Betwwen many other things, this is why bitcoin has appeared on the market, to prevent the reversal of the transactions. I am a scientist and although I do not understand many of the technical aspects of the bitcoin network, I know suffieicnt Mathematics to read the original article of Satoshi that made the bitcoin possible.
This article is not complicated, and between other things it says that it was necessary a new currency to prevent the reversals of the transactions.

Exactly why I believe Bitcoin is going to be used all over in online stores because it protects the seller from chargebacks too. I think too many sites out there like ebay protect the buyer more than the seller.

Some online shopping are accept bitcoin as payment to the item you buy. If i'm not mistaken one article released that amazon now is accepting bitcoin and they considered bitcoin as mode of payment. But some online shopping are still not open in accepting bitcoin as mode of payment.

but to solve problem?! Bitcoin cannot address problem to undelivered item you ordered from the supplier it is your part resolve it and ensure the security of your item ordered.

There will need to be more work done in escrow for bitcoin to become a dominant force because even with chargeback facility of paypal and banks there are still occasionally low selling standards on ebay with some sellers. Chargebacks are the best thing to keep ebay a semi legit trading place right now.

The only solution is credibility of the seller. If seller is credible, you can go first with Bitcoin.
There are services like Purse.io. They let you buy stuff for Bitcoin on Amazon. In this way, you can easily buy whatever you want and have no risk of being scammed as Purse is reputable company.

In the future the owners of these shopping centers are good traders of this currency.

But still, if you want to shop online with no hassle, there are some wallets that can be used to convert your bitcoin into it's value in cash and use it as a payment for online stores.

First, in online shopping they only sell things that have in size. So in short words, they only sell small things. The one that you say is impossible. Also as an online shopper i think bitcoin is really fit to these job in the online shopping it can used to buy foods like pizza cars to not be hassle and etc.

I have bought tons of stuff online and I don’t have encountered anything that allows me to pay in bitcoin yet. However just like in the restaurant it would be a win if we are able to integrate cryptocurrencies on this and with this in mind the problems is just of the price and its unpredictability

Well it should. It was designed for online transactions after all. The rules simply have to be a little different. You can't ship your item until your transaction has gotten a few confirmations. As for consumer protection in the way of payment reversals, you would probably have to rely on third party services such as Bitpay.

The way I see it, Bitcoin has to be more than viable for online transactions. We know it can't compete with fiat on point of sale transactions, so it should at least rule the online domain.

Well, it the same this as eBay and Amazon, Bitcoin is just a payment option, Like for example, eBay or Amazon adopt bitcoin as there payment option, they will assure that the item will be back to you but if it doesn't,  Amazon/eBay will process your money back and not the bitcoin system itself.

This isn't water tight because 1.) Credibility of a seller can only work over a certain period of time. So new sellers have a barrier to entry which is not great for the online economy. 2.)It works better for low value items only. So something that is $10 $20 etc a seller will likely deliver all the time because of risk/reward ratio. If you have a seller who does high value items they can build up their rep to pull off one big scam.

I haven't used bitcoin on Ebay or Amazon, but I tried it on Steam. I bought myself a game and then later tried to issue a refund. When Steam asked me how I wanted to recieve the refund, I only had one option. Normally I would get the money back to my Visa card, but I got it in my Steam wallet. It stated on the website that refunds to Bitcoin wallets would come soon, but knowing Valve I doubt that's on their priority list.

It's irreversible but they can make the system where the site hold the money first until the item arrive, after that thr buyer confirms it and they will forward the payment to the seller, incase the buyer doesn't receive the item, they can send the money back. It can be done but it needs time until amazon and ebay accept it as payment option.

I think that is perfectly reasonable.  This way we only have 1 middle man of ebay/amazon and not 2 with the bank taking their cut for providing no value the transaction.  Obviously if open bazaar takes over online shopping then great but last time i checked they still need escrow in the trade.

Bitcoin doesn't work with direct transactions, the privacy of the buyer is exploited at that process, if an online store would provide or obey the process of bitcoin transactions, which uses blocks, then it would be a perfect store.

Yep bitcoin can be used for payment options for online shopping although still there are no many online shopping that accept the bitcoin, but sometimes long or short time they will addopt the bitcoin on their online shopping, just couples online shops that addopted the bitcoin for example we can pay using the bitcoin on https://purse.io/ and getting goods from the Amazon, also we will get the discount too on there.

If you're wondering where to start, look no further than the following top websites that are now accepting Bitcoin as payment for their goods and services. By the way, more and more brick-and-mortar sites are accepting Bitcoin, too. Fly into Denver and you can even pay for your parking with Bitcoin. Cryptocurrency is not just for the unsavory criminal any more.

1.Overstock.com - To use bitcoin on Overstock.com, at checkout simply select the "Pay with bitcoin" option to complete your purchase.

2.Expedia - Like Overstock.com, Expedia teamed up with Coinbase to implement the new payment option. Bitcoin payment is only accepted for hotel bookings at the moment, but may be expanded to include payments for flights, activities and more.

3.eGifter - eGifter is a popular gift card site and mobile app that lets users buy gift cards for all sorts of places, including Amazon, JCPenny, Sephora, Home Depot, Kohl's and more. eGifter uses Coinbase as their bitcoin partner.

Therefore, the answer is yes you can use bitcoin for OL shopping. There are so much more website or stores that accepts bitcoin payment. Hope my answer helped you.

It actually depends on the where you make your purchases from, if you buy from a person directly and used paypal, then you might have been ripped off. But if you bought it from like say Amazon, you are very much entitled to a refund if your items doesn't arrive.

It's possible if the seller has a very fair policy, my advice you just need to be careful to do online shopping, because not all online sellers can be trusted, search really reliable and highly recommended, then you do not have to worry about money and goods you ordered.

In regard with using ebay or Amazon to buy stuff the buyer is protected with ebays buyer protection and in some cases extends to the seller but this kind of system cant work with bitcoin because transactions once made are final unless the recipient chooses to send back the funds which would be inefficient to make this work...the closest system. We have is the use of escrow.

No, that is not possible. Bitcoin transactions are irreversible, so if you pay the seller directly then there is nothing you can do if he decide to scam you. I think it's easy to solve this though. First the site that is providing the service could act as an escrow and hold your payment, until the item is delivered. This way you would be protected. There could also be a trust system, like this forum has, and you could rate sellers. This way they would have to work for their reputation, and they wouldn't risk it if they wanted to succeed in their business.

I have no idea how overstock deals with this, or openbazaar but I really think a combination of these two options would solve that problem.

NO. Bitcoin doesn't work there but instead you can process bitcoin into cash designated to your currency where do country you belong. You cannot use bitcoin instantly when you earned it because it not yet notice by the main market we have. Bitcoin is still in a process to be known for is's usage.  But maybe someday bitcoin is the universal currency and the cashless society will be there, No corruption and NO counterfeiting.

I think Bitcoin can also make us as a means of payment in the online shop,

for example there is a shirt for $ 1000 then Bitcoin in the output must be for $ 1000,

although the price of Bitcoin down and up, which changed only the amount of Bitcoin in the output not the price of the shirt..

and the online shop should keep updating Bitcoin / dollar price..

Thanks
it depend, where you buy it? ebay or amazon too?
if seller have great popularity like two above you can get back your bitcoin. because the packet you bought not delivered.
but if you buy from strange store or people, your coin cant back to you. it like scam. but i dont know in country that accepted bitcoin as payment.

There's an even better solution, which I enjoy using now. If you've traded in crypto marketplaces, you might be familiar with it: escrow! I only sell my Bitcoin with Localbitcoins and Bisq, which have inbuilt escrow releases. Even dark markets used them. I know people have mentioned them earlier, but here's a few places you can find them:

1. This forum. There are several professional escrowers in Services section. Contact them for their services, they charge between 1 to 5% of the fee, but that's probably far bigger savings than what you'll end up paying for Amazon's administration fees on reversals, for example.
2. Coinpayments.net is an example of a professional service that'll set up an escrow payment for you. They even have ICOs using them now to escrow investor funds. They'll verify you've received your goods, and release payment to the seller.

Not perfect, but that to me is a better solution than what's traditionally available. If you've ever had to fight for your money in a dispute over some seller not delivering... you'd understand it's a huge waste of time (not to mention you get back your money minus "admin fees").

It would be hard for bitcoin to be used the same way as PayPal as there is no protection when making purchases. It would be ok with a reputable company but there will be a risk when buying from unknown sellers.

As one forum member have already suggested, you can use BitPay (http://"https://bitpay.com/") for issues like these. But BitPay might not be the best option for you out there. Other BitPay alternatives you might want to consider are Adyen, BlueSnap, and Stripe. You can read a comparison of their services here (http://"https://alternatives.financesonline.com/p/bitpay/"), along with other alternatives to the three aforementioned services.

I believe he was looking for advice to purchase from online big retailers, at this point your best bet would be exchanging BTC for currency on any wallet that can be used to purchase using a Credit Card such as Neteller or Skrill, however bear in mind these are designed for gambling and you can't use funds deposited via BTC to make purchases right off the bat, you might want to exchange BTC at a lower rate for money that can be used in online stores.

Also getting Amazon gift cards is a viable option

If ebay or amazon are going to accept bitcoin as payment method it is logically that they are not going to make you pay the seller directly to his wallet since the transaction is irreversible. They have to implement a system so when you buy a product the funds are kept in their wallet(ebay or amazon) and when you received the product the fund are distributed to the sellers wallet. This is going to be a disadvantage for most of the sellers. It is a complicated thing and it takes more time than Paypal, plus that the fees are differene every hour. I dont think ebay or amazon are going to add bitcoin as a payment method soon because it takes a lot of time to develop a system that works.

Agreed. Transaction fees will make Bitcoin not suitable to buy small items. I think shops could offer a discount if people pay with Bitcoin, in order to cover high transaction fees...

It would be hard for bitcoin to be used the same way as PayPal as there is no protection when making purchases.

Buyers protection serves just one party -> the seller in a way is always exposed to the risks of malicious entities charging back on them. Bitcoin solves that problem nicely. Everything you receive in Bitcoin as seller, is fully yours (assuming you don't make use of a third party service). But then again, the buyers will then complain about the lack of protection on their side with Bitcoin. I am quite sure that there are some solutions that you can implement to suit all parties involved, but you then have to accept that everything you do will happen mostly in a centralized environment. I rather just stick to being careful when it comes to where I spend my coins, which helps a lot. ;)

Actually this could be a good way and strategy for online shops. I see most of the online stores selling stuffs which some are cheap while some are expensive but you'll get a free delivery once you spend a certain amount so it would be a good idea to partner it with bitcoin. You can save some bitcoin fees and you'll get a free delivery services if you spend a high amount things on that certain store. So most of the people on that store will only spend high value things to get the free delivery and a worth it fee.

As of now, the feature is not available to pay using Bitcoins for the goods or services purchased online through most of the leading e-commerce websites. However, there are some dedicated Bitcoin invoice management companies which allow merchants to not only accept the payment in Bitcoin but also to manage the invoice for the cryptocurrency transactions and this solution is really working on the online merchants who are using it. It will not take more than 5 years for the huge players like Amazon, eBay etc to accept cryptocurrencies as a payment option on their platforms.

Depends on the transaction and the dealer or online shopping website where you buy the boat. The rules and regulations of some online shopping website who accepts bitcoin as payment are the same with ebay andd amazon. They can send you back your bitcoin if you did not recieved the item you bought. Really depends on the type of the transaction.

Bitcoin works for online shopping, instead od using reverse transactions with bitcoins you should use escrow. Seller will not receive your bitcoins until you confirm that you received what you bought.
People try to present bitcoin in bad light, but all the bad things that happen comes from other currencies. Someone already used same scam and now they are doing the same with crypto currencies. Check with whom you making the deal, use escrow, if you had good experience wrote something nice about that person for their reputation, same case if it's something bad. People should know with who they need to deal with.

it is supposed to be work like that, a peer-to-peer online payment system and this is how Mr. Nakamoto envisioned about bitcoin to be accepted widely for e-commerce.but here is the catch, it can't accomodate as fast as visa transactions that's why it was not fully adopted.as for the mean time there are a lot of third party payment system that process your bitcoin to pay for online shop but it is quite inconvenient for both parties.

Title: Re: Does Bitcoin work for online shopping?

Nope not possible once the transaction is made in bitcoin that would completely be irreversible when it comes to peer to peer transactions or if amazon or ebay has a system that will pay you yor money if the item hasn't been delivered it will benefit both. You also use other payment processor to act an escrow before giving it to the seller when the item has not yet been delivered.

As we know that it is very famous that’s why big shopping centers in the Asia and Europe are accepting bitcoin for shopping and because of that they reserve good amount of bitcoin. In the future the owners of these shopping centers are good traders of this currency.
As far as I know bitcoi  can already be used for online shoppings. Because there online shops across some countries that are now accepting bitcoin as a payment for such shoppings. We can all look forward that more and mote shops will accept bitcoin. That not only for clothes. But as well as every single thing.

Bitcoin only exists online. If not for online payments, there would be no need for bitcoin. this is so many 1s and 0s. with no real world utility besides being a payment medium. what good is bitcoin for anything else other than online shopping?

and im purposefully conflating selling bitcoin wfor fiat with online shopping. but if you look at it, is ther really a difference if the fiat is spent on the same products? this is coming from a guy that lives on crypto, and hasnt had significant fiat in a few years ;)

Basically they're just like Paypal for bitcoin.

alright, using paypal for bitcoin. i think paypal is the payment for bitcoin. if you have a paypal you can do everything with your bitcoin.

Well, if the transaction has been made, we all know that it will not be undone anymore unlike bank payments or other forms of fiat payments. But if you are dealing with a legitimate seller and you have not come into an agreement that would be beneficial to the two of you, then perhaps you will decide together that he will return your bitcoins. The point here is that you should be careful of the wallet and the owner of the wallet. Because there is no such thing as second chance once a mistake has been committed.

If you make direct transactions with FIAT currency or Bitcoin, your chance to be cheated is the same.
As an example :
- You send $ 2000 to Albert for a car, but Albert runs away with your money and never sent a car to you.
- You send 1 Bitcoin to Rony for a car, unfortunately Rony just like Albert, he runs away with your bitcoin.

So in this case a third party (like Bitpay, maybe) will be able to guarantee that you will not lose money for nothing.

If you buy something from an individual seller using bitcoin, i am not sure you get your money back because if individuals scam you, you can't complaint due to anonymity of cryptocurrency.
However if you shop from a website like ebay, amazon using bitcoin and never receive your product, you can raise a complaint against company by showing them purchase id.

Thanks
bitcoin is work only in the online shopping and its not exist in the real word bitcoin cannot solve the problem in that scenario like you said because its only for online. its not an fiat money so they cant turn it back and i think that's your fault because why do you buy a 2 boat in the online shopping ? yes you can guarantee that you're item will be delivered to you but what if the hackers and the scammers will intervense your item ? so its your fault you know that the risk is always near you when you talk about money

Bitcoin was designed to make transactions irreversible. It has many advantages but for some people it's the main reason why they don't want to switch to Bitcoin. There are few companies which accept Bitcoin from you and pay with fiat to merchant. So far, I have only used bitpay.com. It's quite convenient and works without any problem. However, I try not to spend my BTC.
That is a disadvantage of using bitcoin. As we don't have any chance to bring back our money just in a single mistake. I don't discourage people to do not used bitcoin, actually this is an information that might happen in any transaction. But this is not usually happen, in fact using bitcoin could be more effecient if we used it wisely and  a secured transaction.

In more places bitcoin is use for online shopping only, but still there are some places where bitcoin is also use in offline shops also. For example in my area there is one Shopping Mall who are accepting bitcoin for shopping. Similarly in  Brazil there are so many other shops who are also accepting bitcoin, similarly in Japan I am sure that there will also be so many shops who will be accepting bitcoin, because they have already accepted bitcoin as legal currency.

I think there are online stores that use Bitcoin as a transaction tool. Not only online businesses that use Bitcoin as payment, but I think in various online stores in the Deep Web, some use Bitcoin. That's because people feel, by using Bitcoin they become safe and untraceable. And also there is no limit as there is on Paypal or bank. For example there are limits such as the transferred limit, or if in the bank .. people who do large transactions will be suspected and may be questioned.

I actually works best in online shopping in my opinion since I'm not actually a fan of debit and credit cards and I find the processing to much of a hassle so I really appreciate how fast and user friendly bitcoin is. I actually tried even using it to buy ingame local credits and shop items from other people seamlessly with just internet and phone would do. I find it more secure also that actually sending and storing real money.

Now Amazon, Ebay online shopping have started  accept bitcoin without deliver items. And it's not sure they will give you your money back or not.
As bitcoin is a online currency so online shopping site should accept it without delay.Hope in future it would be easy to shopping with bitcoin.
Yes you can use bitcoin for anywhere, for all of your online shopping. But be careful in some online shop because some of them is fraud. You can also use it in transferring money without third person to oversee it.

It cannot be undone since bitcoin I think is irreversible.  If you paid the item using bitcoin in online transaction and it was delivered but your item that has been purchased online was not, then it is the company or the seller that you should contact with just like what you said in your first three sentences.  Considering the high price of bitcoin and you bought something to unknown and not familiar online store or shop, then it is a problem as you do not know where to ask for the refund.  Unlike the big store such as eBay and Amazon where they are well known.

Just like what others said even Amazon accept bitcoin so I think other online shop will accept it because why they refuse to it if bitcoin is just a limited? that's my opinion

It's not as problematic as they think, I bet they want to make popular amaxon pay, paypal, not bitcoin. Bitcoin is bad idea for refunding but there is a way to solve it, we need something like bitpay where we will identify documents and get similar wallet of paypal, where major currency will be bitcoin and transactions will be like it's on xapo, with no fees for it's users. In this way, refunding will be comfortable and instant.
And the reason why it's great way is that some shops don't accept interbational cards and I have to request my friend(s) in usa to buy things for me. So bitcoin will be fix of this problem. I can still write so much about it..

Bitcoin's USP was quick confirmation times, no / low transaction fees and no chargebacks. That was what made it attractive to merchants. The first two are out of the window now. Thankfully, merchants accepting bitcoins will face no chargebacks.

It's kinda hard to buy something with bitcoin. Especially, bitcoin value is so high and we hardly find something that worth one bitcoin.
Also, bitcoin isnot trackable, it'll be hard for the seller or buyer, so seller may choose to avoid uncertain things and decided to use money as payment instead.
And as far as i know, there haven't been online shopping websites that accept bitcoin? Or is there any already?

that's a very good question, if I think it's really very good if it really works honestly and does not harm the consumer, but maybe it could be your return of bitcoin in return dollar currency if bitcoin value increases price.

i also think this is a good way of using bitcoin but i know soon many people will notice how good bitcoin is as a medium of exchange, many online shops will use bitcoin as their mode of payment just like paypal and its a lot better much faster less effort to the part of both parties any where and anytime you can use bitcoin

I'm not sure about using bitcoin for transactions, even if it is online. Yes, bitcoin is manipulated online  but it haven't pass to worldwides perspective about currencies. Though we are not that far from these scenarion since we are commonly using bitcoin for an higher exchange and after what's happening online, so does in online shopping transaction. But for now, we have to get our feet on and let what we are used to on what we want.

I think right now only a few online shops or establishments, in general, accept bitcoin as payment for transactions. Although many companies have been using it as part of their capital investment, there are still many negative ideas about it that stop other companies from totally embracing it. For your "boat" questions, I think big transactions like that would take a long while to be accepted using bitcoin to pay for it because would still be the reliable means of payment for manufacturers or sellers.

Because bitcoin transactions are not reversible, that's why we should be careful making online transactions. Even tough they can figured it out that there is accidentally deposited but because of anonymous identity, they can never trace where it came from and doing that is just a waste of time.

Having used of bitcoin through online transactions is very efficient and only spending a little time just to finished a certain transaction. And with this, we can maximize our time in some other works and we are very productive everyday.

I haven't try that in our country. As far as I know, we can only use bitcoin in buying loads, well so far that's what I usually do. We can transfer bitcoin from peee to peer . But most of online sellers in our cpuntry doesn't accept bitcpin for payment, even they knew about it. One time,  I try to use bitcoin for paying the thing I bought on her online, and the policy is payment first. She wants me to go in money services so that she can receive my payment, I suggest her that I'll pay her in bitcoin,  which is on my wallet. tje wallet I am using is endorsed by her, and this wallet is very useful to me upto now. But then again she refused my payment in bitcoin, she keeps on saying that it will be better if I just pay her thru remittances. Ans so I don't have any control woth it, I just follow her to get my order. Maybe they are not that familiar with bitcoin, and so they are still afraid to use it.

agree many merchants who accept bitcoin as there mode of payment required you to pay first so before paying to a merchant make sure that you do your research if it was legitimate or not since many are fraud this days and you can't file a dispute after a transaction.

For now, that workaround appears to be in the form of sites like Coinbase, which unfortunately are still nowhere near prepared to take Bitcoin where it needs to go for your local Starbucks to be accepting it at the cashier. Until a more creative solution is agreed upon by the community itself, the challenges of how to reduce the transaction time to the same as what you’d get swiping a debit card will mount as Bitcoin’s userbase continues to grow.

Bitcoin uses internet so on line shopping is very much possible and it is already done by some on line shopping sites. The reliability depends on the integrity of the site or the person you want buy your items from. So I think it is for your own risk if you really want to use your bitcoin to buy online because no one is regulating bitcoin. Everyone using bitcoin can be a victim of a scammer, so it is up to us to check if you are transacting to someone online.

Agree. More and more online stores offer bitcoins as an alternative currency. However, from my point of view, it is harder to regulate the purchases and sales since bitcoins cannot be refunded to a customer the way fiat money can be.

yes we can solve this simply by providing the locking and unlocking mechanism(escrow) but it would cost some extra fee, but still hey these are cryptos these are volatile no one knows what will happen, all products have the fixed price.

worst case: if the value of the crypto fall down just before receiving the payment, then the seller will loss certain money, but if it is increased the buyer would be happy :)

Thanks
Yes the person their can just send back the same amount of bitcoin but problem here is that we dont have any such trusted platform which promises you to return your money. Morever such returns would have to be send back which means transaction fees would have to be paid again. So it would be much better if such a platform is made and transactions are done within the chain.

When buying something only first, you need to check that rules and regulations and especially if the website is legit. We all know that sooner amazon and ebay will accept bitcoin as a payment and I think it would be the same as any other online payment or like pay-pal. If you don't receive your package or the product they will refund you on how much it costs. Example, if you buy a bot for 2 BTC  they will refund you your 2 BTC and the value of the 2 BTC doesn't matter because that's how bitcoin works its not stable and your taking the risks of using your bitcoin. You would be just very unlucky if you don't get your product.

Yes, there are several stores which already accept Bitcoin as a method of payment. Refund, as you stated, works just like any other payment system. If you don't receive the item, you get the refund. Yet I know there are some stores which don't refund if you pay with Bitcoin.

Regarding Amazon or Ebay acceptance, I think Amazon will come first. Maybe ebay will never come. Don't forget ebay owns Paypal as well, so Bitcoin is a direct competitor they are afraid to accept.

If the items are not sold directly by the website then they are going to escrow the funds for you and besides part of the terms whenever you are going to sell something from their website is that you need to have a particular amount of deposit made to them first.

Exactly. We don't need to ask for that. Bitcoin is mainly used in online world and in online shopping ofcourse. There is no second thought on that. The main market of bitcoin is Online and since the introduction of bitcoins online shopping has increased a lot. A lot more people now intend to do shopping online just because they can pay in bitcoins which is far more easier to use than credit cards payment etc.

Bitcoin cannot be used for online shopping on Amazon/Ebay/Flipkart or many of similar platforms. As these are working as a third party service provider, their accounts are used as the escrow / project account by all individual and product seller. Product seller sells their product through sites and gets the payment through them by the individual receiver.

Using Bitcoin as payment is not possible, as it is not acceptable in all countries/ merchants/ banks. Also Bitcoin accounts are without any personal information about the holder which is a hindrance for online shopping.

It's very possible for bitcoin to be a payment or currency on online shop and it's really suit on bitcoin though. The problem is there is no security on bitcoin, once you get scammed you can get your bitcoin back to you. I'm sure bitcoin will be accepted on online shop in the future.

It should be understood again that Bitcoin is the same as a money. amazon and various online shopping still save Bitcoin that has been transferred by the buyer and this is why it is necessary to explain that all transactions should still be centralized, we can send a number of Bitcoin to Amazon's wallet and it certainly can get a guarantee. this will be different when we directly send Bitcoin to seller, it can happen fraud and it is the same when we send money directly to seller. In theory this looks the same and which distinguishes only its form, Bitcoin is a form of digitizing currency.

Bitcoin was created for the online shopping idea that is why it is called global currency, but Bitcoin was not design to reverse the payment, once you send then it is done, for the security you need to hire escrow or third party to hold your funds until everything settle then you can tell the third party to release the funds

To satisfy the continuous demand of the customers and to provide a smooth transaction.
Many companies start to build an online shopping applications or websites, which promotes online currency in any means of transaction as a payment to their purchases.

I believed that there is some website out there that accepts bitcoin as online payment. So yes it does work for online shopping although the big barrier that we are facing right now is the high transaction fee that prevent other online shopping to really accept bitcoin. And there are also online shopping that used to accepts bitcoin, but they choose not to because of the high fees and the slow confirmation time. We just hope that in the future we will see more online shops that will accept it eventually. But I believed that just one shopping site, like Amazon that will accept bitcoin, it will grow rapidly as they will set a precedence in the online world.

I am not recommending it but try visiting deep web any time. You will find numerous sellers with their various merchandises selling everything for nothing else than bitcoin. As for the real world sites like Amazon and ebay. I still think its quite challenging considering the amount of legalities these countries have to face. They have to pay taxes in their respective countries so it will be hard for them to determine taxes on such purchases.

Basically, transactions done in bitcoin cannot be reversed or refunded
as in the case of Paypal. But what can be done is the website that
accepts bitcoin as a mode of payment can withhold buyer's bitcoins
until a said service or product has been delivered by the seller to the
buyer.

One example of this would be localbitcoins.com

Yes it is actually a fast transaction and really good feature of bitcoin and giving satisfaction to many users to use it everytime having an transaction with other people.

Some are acting as a middleman for this kind of transactions but, for bitcoin it can't solve your problem. It was made for Peer to Peer transactions unless the one who you sent your money can give it back to you if you don't get your item shipped.

Most of the big companies and small ones do accept bitcoin as payment to their site.

First you need to see where you are shopping really. I mean you yourself stated that in case of amazon or eBay they will solve the problem on their end. Well, in this case what they are actually doing is, they are holding the payment in their account before they can pay to the seller. This way they make it sure that they don’t provide the fraud services. I mean if seller don’t sell the item then simply the money will be returned to you which they are holding for you.

So in case of bitcoin if the service provider is taking the money and holding into their account before sending it to the merchant then obviously you can request the money back from the merchant itself. So that easy logic beyond it how those big merchandise work on money back garuntee.

Other retailers like over stock.com and tigerdirect.com let you buy stuff directly from them. They ship out stuff asap only bad thing is if refund is needed they issue it via fiat in my experience.

I can understand making large purchases with Bitcoin(thousands of dollars range).  I do not see smaller purchases in Bitcoins future.  You would need a third party to handle volatility and reduce the price of transaction fees.  Adding a central authority to the blockchain defeats its main purpose.

But then again Bitcoin is still growing so maybe the community will vote to change its protocol and lower transaction fee and find a way to increase the speed to at least be comparable with credit card charges.

I could notice one company accepting that is Microsoft we can buy content with bitcoin on xbox and windows store.
How ever we have a chance to choose by converting our digital currency bitcoin into fiat we can just simply turn into cash and use our bitcoin.
If we need such acceptance from the retailers to accept bitcoin they even think about some profit from their business dealers then we can expect even us to shop with bitcoin online. But the retailers expectations need to be satisfied from their banks.

I think there is no problem in applying the tracking number of the package with bitcoin payment included, i dont see any difference between paying for the service with BTC and  regular fiat.
Im almost sure that in the most ways bitcoin is way more comfortable to use for paying for some service or item online, of course if you own any already. All you do is just a transfer that get up in maximum 20 minutes if the fee is correct, and your item can be send or given up online to you. No needs for bank transfers, paypals and stuff like that.

that's a very good question, if I think it's really very good if it really works honestly and does not harm the consumer, but maybe it could be your return of bitcoin in return dollar currency if bitcoin value increases price.

I think any business  and shops that is internet based will work well with bitcoins. It would give their customers additional freedom in their option for mode of payments and at the same time provide a secure and fast way to transfer money. Also they can take advantage of the privacy in using bitcoins to offer their customers a discreet way of shopping.

In future I think so, I mean why not it's a digital asset? However, there's a major issue in that people would need a bitcoin balance, or if not would need to transfer the funds - at the moment the wait and the transaction fee would both be major issues for ecommerce - even the slightest delay in loading a web page can impact conversion and purchase...at the moment, it's maybe a nice add on...but it's nowhere near as effective as FIAT payment methods

It is working very well. There is now a growing number of online stores and other online shopping sites that are accepting Bitcoins. I haven't tried them yet though. The good thing about Bitcoin payment is that each and every transaction is fully transparent and can be seen on the blockchain. The seller as well as the buyer can access the transaction whether it is already confirmed or not. Another good thing is that the transaction is peer to peer, unlike the normal transactions with banks. With Bitcoins, you can easily ask the seller of a Bitcoin back agreement if you do not like the item shipped to you.

It's working, you can even look for interesting goods out there on the goods section of this forum and when you transact just look for someone that's willing to escrow your transaction to the buyer. I did shopped many times for buying digital goods outside the forum and it really feels great to it again from time to time. A peer to peer transaction if there are stores out there that has your interesting desired item, ask them if they accept bitcoin.

Yes it is workig.Bitcoin is Very good online payment system. But there are many online shop don't accept bitcoin. But some online shops accept bitcoin. Some time I use bitcoin for online payment.
Yes bitcoin really works for online shopping. Some of the member in this forum already stated that they were able make some transactions like shopping in online gaming and others using bitcoin. We have also this option of converting digital currency into fiat so that we can use the money to pay our bills.
but i think bitcoin is not just work or only be used in online shop, because I see there are many physical stores in my countries that receive bitcoin payments directly, so it proves that bitcoin not only can be used in online shop, but can be used for buying things in a physical store,,

Thanks

If you use pages to be the intermediate throw the shop, i don't think so. Like there is no legal frame to the use of cryptocurrency this kind of transactions are very very delicate, and more in this type of cases. I recommend you to only pay with crypto when these can of situations can be solved throw terms. Meanwhile invest on crypto in reliable projects, is one of the best uses you can give it. Just like propthereum.ip

I think bitcoin cannot be used directly in shopping online you need to convert it first to its current value(dollar or other currency).
there are online shopping sites that accepts payments with digital wallet that has bitcoin exchange like coins.ph

To satisfy the continuous demand of the customers and to provide a smooth transaction.
Many companies start to build an online shopping applications or websites, which promotes online currency in any means of transaction as a payment to their purchases.
With this you can buy something you want easily.

It's not possible if you use bitcoin directly peer to peer but there are payment processors such as BitPay that will help protect against this.

https://bitpay.com/

Basically they're just like Paypal for bitcoin.

Bitcoin, an encrypticized currency that only exists on the Internet and is not subjected to anyone. Bitcoin has been predicted to either become the linchpin that completely revolutionizes how the world economy works, or could just lose the Winklevoss Twins a whole lot of their precious Facebook money when it eventually tanks.

Yes there is a wallet application for bitcoin in our country but only a few is knowledgeable about it. We must first educate the people around us before accepting bitcoin as payments. We must also tell authorities or provide authorities the guidelines that we can say bitcoin is helpful for everyone.

Some site for online shopping are accepting bitcoin but some are also not. Some site for online shopping accepting it because they want to have it because they know that bitcoin can help them to earn more money because there are so many people who are using bitcoin. Some site are not accepting because bitcoin is not legalized worldwide so they think that is it too risky to accept bitcoin.

Last day I read that Amazon accepted Bitcoin as a form of payment. So you can use BTC for online shopping on Amazon. I believe that if Amazon accepts the BTC, sooner or later other e-commerce sites will accept the BTC, and BTC will become more and more popular, becoming the official currency in the near future. And for your questions about the BTC refund when buying any product, I believe the future of BTC technology will allow people to trade with each other more easily, not as secure as the present time.  ;D

Hi there berluscoin! Payment processing of eBay and Amazon are only in a form of dollar. Customer with different currency tends to convert it first to dollar before the payment process goes thru. That could be the idea you are looking for, but as far as I know, company that will do or can do that conversion is still not in the list of eBay and Amazon. One thing that you could do is to directly communicate with the seller or buyer and look for a trusted escrow service that will do the job for you.  ;)

This is a very serious problem if bitcoin wants to be used for large online stores. So to use bitcoin in a large online store transaction needed is first bitcoin receiver first before forwarded to the seller so that if the goods have been accepted by buyer then buyer will confirm to third party that is online store to send bitcoin to seller. This is almost the same as the passing of the bank but this will make it easier because we do not have to go to a bank or atm machine to make transactions.

Wow its amazing to know that you have enough BTC to buy a boat online even though i knew that it is just an example. In my opinion that feature can only be done if the processor have a direct connection with the seller or in this case Amazon. Bitcoin on the other hand have no middle man which process the payment, even thought there are escrow, the reversal of funds is one of the limitation of the blockchain technology as even stated in the research paper of Satoshi.

Bitcoin is actually the best for online shopping because the buyer can't just press "dispute" and you're going to have a complete loss of the product and the payment. I think the online shopping will work as how other online shopping works but it's going to have an on-site points. The points will only be added to the seller if he has sent a tracking number and the website has confirmed it. Maybe for even better security for both parties, only have the money be able for withdrawal once the shipping company or the courier company that the seller used has confirmed that the buyer has accepted the product.

I think that this would work well because people don't have to keep on sending bitcoins to another wallet whenever they have to make a transaction. They can simply send a lot of bitcoins to the website and spend those money instead of having to send a certain amount of bitcoin every time.

Yes because of the low of transaction in about bitcoin matters. I think the online store are need more some cash than bitcoin there are online shop that are cash on delivery where there are more people wants like this kind of transaction for being assured of what they get items. Because their are some people needs assurance before giving money. So I think there are no yet pnline stores getting bitcoin as payments. And I think they will do it if the bitcoin really exposed.

Thanks
I still do not think Bitcoin can be made in the online store payment, may Amazon find the most appropriate way for Cryptocurrency can be made in their online store...

Yes bitcoin work for online shopping but the process is hectic. You will be dependent on the middle person / source like pay pual / amazone or e-bay before you get the item. Therefore, normally is hard to pay with bitcoin.

First of all why does Bitcoin is responsible for that transaction? you only use bitcoin as a payment. if you don't received your ordered product, eBay or Amazon will be the one who is responsible for that. The best thing to do is to pay it whenever it is being delivered already to you. It is just by scanning his/her QR code. It is more safe if we do that this way.

Yes, this is possible with Bitcoin. Only that it will affect the seller, in a certain way. Amazon/eBay can act as an escrow service as well. Amazon/eBay will keep the Bitcoin until both sides confirm they received the package, else, the money will be returned. More than that, Amazon has a contract with the sellers, therefor they know who received the money and if they refuse to pay it back, they can sue them and send them to jail for not paying it back.

You can shop at Overstock with Bitcoin.  They're a reputable retailer.

They're also having an ICO where they expect to raise $500 million:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2324406

$500 million? What will they use it for? Just like money collector.

Anyway, about bitcoin will reverse to you, i dont think it can be like that. It can not be reversed. The only one that can give your money back is the shop.

I think its yes and as what I have know today it is already happening. Some online shopping sites are now accepting bitcoin as a mode of payment, and some online shops are made to use bitcoin as a payment system. And I think it was a great deal and a great opportunity to bitcoin.

There are some country which are well known about bitcoin and give the exchange of money by accepting bitcoin. They will check and verify that but most of the country will not accept it so there you can not use bitcoin for online shopping.
Some online site like Amazon and eBay receive coins at advance and hold the buyers' bitcoin before giving them to the seller until you receive the item but you have to pay money and the will return bitcoin after you have paid that.
Usually, you can not use it at most of the online shopping site.

I think you don't know much about shopping sites system for reverse of transaction , reverse in transaction is not possible in almost every services by the users ( only PayPal like system and another banking sector can reverse by banks only not by user ) .
In Actual practice to reverse the transaction they send money in your wallet , not reverse .
Here the same thing can happen easily with bitcoin but I am sure that if deals will not done then surely buyers and sellers both of them will get loss of money by the transaction fee of 2-3$ easily .

Installment preparing of eBay and Amazon are just in a type of dollar. Client with various cash tends to change over it initially to dollar before the installment procedure goes through. That could be the thought you are searching for, however to the extent I know, organization that will do or can do that change is still not in the rundown of eBay and Amazon. One thing that you could do is to specifically speak with the dealer or purchaser and search for a trusted escrow benefit that will carry out the activity for you.

I think so. Maybe amazon or ebay can get everyone's bitcoin address and while doing that, amazon or ebay may lock or tskr control of the wallet. Sellers must confirm or upload a signature to access and send their bitcoins from other wallets. So in case the seller tries run and gun the bitcoins, these websites can somehow lock the transactions.

Bitcoin is a wonderful coin but you can not do anything by that coin. Even there are some countries which have banned bitcoin in their country. No government gives the exchange of money by receiving bitcoin so you have to invest and receive money by online.
You can not pay bitcoin into most of the online or any physical shopping center for shopping. But there is some online shopping center like Amazon and Ebay receives bitcoin and send the thing you bought but you have to pay money when you will receive that material and they will return you that bitcoin. You can only deal and invest into bitcoin and get money back by selling them so that till now you cannot use bitcoin for online shopping.

For me, yes some online shopping site is willing to accept bitcoin as payment. But most of the online site doesn't allow bitcoin as payment because of some reason. But if Amazon and another site accept bitcoin as a payment I’m sure that in the future they will accept it too, especially that bitcoins amount is increasing and the community of it is growing.  :)
Amazon is accepting bitcoin as payment and this is the benefits of bitcoin that its investors can buy each and every thing from amazon and sooner many other stores will also accept bitcoin to buy from them actually bitcoin is now famous all around the world and people are coming more toward it and online stores are also coming to the user trend because they know well that in future bitcoin will matter a lot.
Wait Amazon does? I thought you only could buy gift cards with the bitcoin and spend that instead of some balance instead of a proper payment with cryptocurrency

Everything can be done. Services like Amazon, Paypal, Ebay and others can make some changes. But that is not a major problem.
The main problem is if we start to use Bitcoin for buying and selling he couldn't keep up. Visa network is far bigger. So technically it would suffer.
Bitcoin and other crypto currencies need to develop more. But we are getting there.

I don't think it possible since bitcoin is unstable, and can gives some non-profit to company. Just thought the item you bought from site is in 5$. Later you didn't receive your item company refund your money but at exact time the value of bitcoin decrease. The company can lose the money and no body want to lose in business. Bitcoin is risky and maybe it hard for these company to accept btc as payment method.

In that case, bitcoin has nothing to do with your transaction if it's made online. But rest assured that the site will pay you back. They have the record if you have paid or not. And if they fail to deliver your order, it's between you and said sites wether you want them to pay you back in fiat or in cash.

Two of the country’s biggest names in e-commerce, Overstock.com and TigerDirect.com, earned themselves some press (and perhaps goodwill from the tech crowd) with their recent decisions to start accepting Bitcoin as payment.....Now, though, users of the controversial peer-to-peer digital system can spend their cryptocurrency in brick and mortar stores including Home Depot, CVS, Kmart and Sears as well as online at web retail granddaddy Amazon.com.“Bitcoin users don’t have as many places to spend as they might like, and many of them have made quite a bit of money in the past year,” he said, adding that the demographic likely to embrace peer-to-peer payment systems probably has a fair amount of disposable income to begin with....

From the scenario I believe for any shopping site or mall to be receiving bitcoins  as a means of payment , it must have set aside a unit or department that attends to complaint that comes from bitcoin  payment on either purchases or returns.

Hence if there is a dispute or complaint it will be attended to and refunds can be done because while filling payment details on the site it will have requested for all necessary information and if not mails or chatting with their customer representative can help get across to them all information needed for neccessary refund to customers wallet.

In this world of technology advancement it can be achieved ,all they will need is to build a software to resolve such queries.

I think its not working. In our country it is not possible there is much need to consider before it will run like how much the fee is because the others would love go to shopping mall and we buy at the mall theres a huge of tax and what if shopping online using bitcoin i'll make sure its double fee. And the other need to consider is not everyone appreciate the modern technology and not everyone knows bitcoin.

Yes it does. I know a certain PC store that sells everything off bitcoin. Then if you need an invoice they give it to you but converted into fiat. And they deliver. Only the BTC prices are a bit higher than the regular ones. But not by much. So all in all it's ok.

Thanks

Yes it is possible, there is already an implemented payment method where users can buy stuff's at amazon using bitcoins and the price will be much cheaper since the value of bitcoins today is increasing. This means that the community of bitcoins is growing and might be fully use to different online stores in the future.

If bitcoin becomes popular I am sure that someday there will be a online shop that accept bitcoin as payment.especially that bitcoins amount is increasing and the community of it is growing

Actually there are already shops online that accepts bitcoin. Like in our country, bitcoin can be used to pay utility bills, online game cards and online shops of some stores which accept online payments. Internationally there goes amazon, which is the largest online shop. So before you know it, bitcoin already did it.

I think bitcoin does not work online shopping. As i have experienced, what i did is to convert my bitcoin into fiat from my wallet and then when it was converted already then that would be the time where to make transactions and pay my bills online thru my wallet. The fact is, i did not use bitcoin itself as a payment. I still used fiat after i converted my bitcoin.

I think someday it will be possible for the bitcoin to be used in some transactions in the internet like for online shopping.  If that will happen in the future, online shopping will be an easy shopping for us. Also, more people will be curious about bitcoin and as a result, bitcoin will become famous. The economy of the countries that will adapt bitcoin will grow more and develop.

yes we can here in philippines we have wallet with exchanger called coins.ph and its have card you can use it in shopping but you need first to verified it,i think if we have in our country im sure in other country also try to search in your own country im sure there's a lot but you need to study it first if its legit
Bitcoin's coverage and acceptance depends on a country to country basis. There are a lot of money exchanger globally, that serves as tool in the bitcoin operation online. This includes legitimate online sellers. Moreover, bitcoin is considered as digital money, so expect that it will be more active on online transactions including purchases.

No, its not possible for bitcoin to reverse the transaction.

Additionally, more individuals will be interested about bitcoin and accordingly, bitcoin will end up noticeably acclaimed. It's actually being applied now by some online sellers. So there's no question anymore if will work or not because it does and once the issue with fees and transaction speed gets settled, there will be more that will adopt this option. And as with fiat today, refunds aren't really working for online transactions. Most of the time you just get to replace your item after a few hassle

It's not possible if you use bitcoin directly peer to peer but there are payment processors such as BitPay that will help protect against this.

https://bitpay.com/

Basically they're just like Paypal for bitcoin.

Why we can not use it? The purpose of bitcoin as currency is being used to pay online shop or something else.
However, there are some country who accept bitcoin in offline and online too. So its possible to use it.

Bitcoin is a virtual currency in itself and needs Internet connection to trade. It is very suitable for online transactions, but the anonymity of bitcoin can easily damage the interests of our consumers or sellers. For example, the receipt is not paid to the seller or the buyer Home payment but no receipt, which can not be tracked, this is difficult to solve the problem.

Bitcoin is very possible to apply in transact using online shopping as above, especially now that bitcoin has started using lightning network technology. This technology, as well as an escrow service wherein one network, can be used for various transactions of the users. This technology is also a solution to the cost and slowness of bitcoin transactions so far using single block. This technology can be applied as long as an online shopping is receiving payment using bitcoin.

I know several shops where BTC are accepted for payment. In fact BTC is not popular as payment tool at present. Mostly it is due to high transaction fees. Now transactions fees are lower than it was 2 months ago..so may be situation will be changed

Maybe some other online sellers can order you, and you'll be charged with bitcoin and of course you will order or buy the online retailer for receiving bitcoin as a fee. Love it or hate it, there’s no denying that pretty much everyone you meet is going to have one opinion or another on the topic of Bitcoin. The digital, decentralized, encrypticized currency that only exists on the Internet and bows to no nation.

Yes it does because from what i read there are some online shopping that are accepting bitcoins as payment for the items they bought. These days more retailers, restaurants, and online shopping portals have begun opening their doors to bitcoin. That doesn’t mean that there are no outlets to spend your bitcoin, however, far from it. It’s just that bitcoin volumes at these outlets has generally not met their expectations.

Now there are more and more online stores and other online shopping sites that accept bitcoin. I have not tried it yet, the good thing about bitcoin payments is that every transaction is completely transparent and can be seen in blockchain. Seller as well as buyer can access the transaction whether it has been confirmed or not? Another good thing is peer to peer transactions, unlike normal transactions with banks. With bitcoin you can easily ask the dealer to resell the bitcoin if you do not keep the item delivered to you. 8)

Thanks

If you're dealing with an online seller, I highly discourage anyone to use bitcoins as a means to trade for physical goods specially if don't know personally who you're dealing with. Just buy at trusted stores or big tech groups with their products instead of buying from ebay. It's a hard pickle to find people who have anonymous addresses.

We know already since the beginning Bitcoin is so risky when it comes to make a big transaction no one can manipulate this, only person to person has a able to fix this problem which is you and your seller can solve this problem that's why many people here are giving an advise to all people that when you have to enter the BUY and SELL through Bitcoin Process just make sure that all transaction you have made are clear before you go on process

Yes, bitcoin does works in online shopping to the shops that accept bitcoins. If all of the shops are accepting bitcoins, it would be very easy for us to shop or purchase something we need. They said KFC is now accepting bitcoins, it would be nice if all fastfood accept bitcoins so that we can easily purchase for delivery

And it would be helpful if bitcoin is used as an online shopping. The most important thing should be mutual benefit between sellers and buyers. But unfortunately not all online stores accept bitcoin as their payment tool.

I think that the deal ends in the shopping company. For example if the company accepts to give your coin back than it wouldn`t be a problem. Imagine if Amazon doesn`t want to turn your money back it is not the fiat`s fault but amazon`s.

currently bitcoin is considered a digital money that is expected to be more active in online transactions including purchases. Bitcoin's coverage and acceptance depend on the country-to-country basis. There are many global money changers, which serve as a tool in bitcoin online operations. This includes a legitimate online seller in my opinion

The purpose of the bitcoin is to create digital transactions. Sathosi Nakamoto created the bitcoin because he saw many problems in our economy. There are now many people and companies nowadays that are now using bitcoin because they saw how the transaction become better and faster.

The thing is if something went wrong in your online shopping, is bitcoin reversible? I think it's not, unless you are shopping in an online shop where they really cater bitcoin as payment and they have such term that if something went wrong they will return your bitcoin and you won't have a problem, just like how paypal works.

If there is a payment processor who can do that and willing to do it, then I think we should encourage everyone to use it as it will protect the consumers from scammers.

while this may not matter all that much when shopping on a website for something that will take a week to ship, it’s far too long to be a viable solution for checkout counters mobbed with hundreds of voracious shoppers during the holiday rush. This is where a third-party would need to come in and foot the bill while both sides of the equation settle up the final amounts on the backend in order to reduce the transaction delay from 10 minutes to under 10 seconds.

Bitcoin transactions are irreversible so there isn't much you can do after you have sent the payment. But you can use an escrow service to prevent yourself from fraud or only buy from trust worthy web stores.

If you can’t buy with bitcoin you can change some btc for fiat and sell this money at once on payment bill. I always do all my purchases with this way. I began to notice that more and more websites and online stores start to accept btc and eth, and I think it's a huge progress, it's good!

There have been rumors that Amazon are going to accept Litecoin, but months later nothing has been announced so I suspect it was just someone trying to push up the price of LTC

Others have speculated that Amazon/ebay may just create their own tokens. There hasn't been any confirmation of this though.

I'm personally very excited about bitcoin (or any alt, really) being accepted buy big retailers. One of the common criticisms from the uninitiated is 'Bitcoin has no value, you can't use it for anything'. Whilst it's easy to counter this criticism currently, I don't think it would even come up again if the likes of Amazon accepted it!
