Title: best investment strategies
Post by: The_Decider on December 27, 2017, 04:25:38 PM
Hey..

I know that everyone has different investment strategies such as day trading, hodl, buying icos and so forth...

I am selecting the best icos of every month and then I am investing into 2-3 icos for every month, but I have heard many people complaining abouy buying icos because price tend to get lower when hitting exchange for the first time..

And sometimes I am simply frustrated when hearing shit tons of people saying that buying icos is stupid.. but I guess its not so time consuming as day trading..

what is your strategy??? and what are pros and cons of your strategy??

My investment strategy is buying and holding. I feel that day trading is time consuming and stressful as well. I agree that some coins’ prices fall after ICO but not all projects. That is why we have to research carefully before investing. Solid projects are still worth investing in.

buy good alts and hold.  I'm invested where I want to be for now, so I'm not going to make any major moves unless I find something new or new ideas, icos, or whatever.

It depends on the ICO. Many people in Crypto do not do their due diligence and participate in whatever ICO they find, without doing any research, if even a basic one. Many ICOs go below ICO price once they hit exchanges, but many good ones produce great results in little time. I myself invest in them with a long time horizon, but sometimes I do take out my initial investment if they perform as expected.

To make good investments, you should be a good trader. Do not invest in just one coin, and do not hold your investments together. Try to improve yourself on trading by reading and learning.

I prefer invest on solid projects for along term. It has disadvantages such as missed many short term opportunities on last hype. But can concentrate on research or other staff rather than just watching price.

Face the risks. All strategies are meant to test at first then see if it will be good then improvement will take placed after.

About ICO price of some certain coins, it's really usual that dump may happened in most of the cases. What is the reason for that? We never know and overall, all reasons are speculations which some might be true.

So to test if your plan will be success after taking such reviews and analyzation, then do it and see for yourself how it will turned out.

I try day trading before, i feel that day trading very tired and stressful. maybe i'm not suitable for day trading. Now I'm start to find good token or coin , buy and hold. And i feel that buy and hold are suitable for me. The only thing is do analysts check the company background, research ,then buy it at the low price, by this way can maximum my investment. I will hold them for 3 to 6 months, some token and coin only take me 1.5 month only. Find the suitable strategy for youself is important.

Honestly i won't sacrifice my investment in ICO's but depends in the background and if the owner is trusted member here maybe it will good to buy even just small amount.. Ico after release from the market they are going to fall the price because of other holder who bought ICO token or coins.. and mostly their are promoting it here with signature campaign and paying with tokens.. that those who earn token they can sell it soon once releases in the market.. And mostly ICO are shit coin or made for pump and dump coin.. If you really wanted to make a good profit with your investment better to invest in top 20 altcoin which is already had rank in coinmarketcap.. Those are more possibility to make more profit and getting more increases than ICO..
But sometimes there are holders are lucky to make more profit for a long time but not All ICO have chance to boom in the future..

I know guys..

I am just struggling with the feeling where I am investing long-term into icos.. and even though I have already  10x my investments,  many people told me that I am basically stupid with this strategy.. and then I see thousands of people everyday trading and I just have a feeling that I am missing something..

So I am just a bit insecure.. but thank you all :)

My investment strategy is simple and straightforward. Buy 50% bitcoin, 50% altcoins at them. Getting to breakeven. The remaining money is distributed to me any coins and buy them when the market is red!

You need to be able to lose what you can afford, because ICOs are so hard to guess, but when you need the right and the proper project, it will make you profit 10 or even 100 times? Yes, it does.
So, you need to read properly about its project from roadmap, whitepaper, the team, how they work / contribute to the projects, how they solve problems.
The best for me to invest in ICO is spend a few and following the bounty program.  ;D

You have to pick projects you believe in and then decide if you are backing them long term or just in it for a flip. If you're flipping, you leave yourself open to risk.

If you completely go through the white paper and blog information you will be able to understand the project's future focus and what presently ICO project information. Many people investing on the ICO token sale does not know about the project but they invest on it.
From the past 6 months 1000 ICO are comes to the market. But around the 100 ICO only has been successful one in the market. As I noticed most of the trading platform ICO are become a famous after the coin has been launched.

There are many risks involved when you trade... You can make a bad trade and lose money, but you also can lose your bitcoins if the exchange gets hacked same as happend to bitfinex last year. Everyone lost 30% of their funds.

Better hold and keep your bitcoin safe in your wallet and we also have many forks going on that you can claim and sell for btc. If you let your btc online, you can not claim forked coins.

It depends on the coins I choose. If the coins I hold gains values, then I am lucky enough to avoid strategies. If the coins loose its values, then you loose your investment amount and this would lead to frustration, hopeless and dissatisfied with your investments. At times, the trasaction period extends than usual time. This really makes you chaos whether the trasaction would really go through.

That's right long term investment strategy is good when buying coins as part of the strategies you have. Because if you compared it to short time way of growing an investments, it has a great advantages as you said huge profit will be possible to earn. You can also set at short term but not all of the asset will be dump, but setting it to small amounts can be a good decision. Don't sell all of your coins despite that it will probably grow in the future.

Just buy and hold, that is the only way in that you could earn a decent amount of money in just a few weeks or months from now.
I dont understand that kind of people who buy a few coins and then they sell all of them in just a week after..

I have a long-term investment portfolio, which contains ico's and already mature assets and a daily trading amount of BTC. To work with daily trading you need to have a good source of the news to speculate on the market. This is not so easy, to be honest.

My strategy is one of straight buy and hodl.

Every time I've tried to guess what the market is going to do it's cost me thousands.

There's two scenarios:

1. I think it's a high and that it'll dip. So I sell, the dip never comes and I buy back in at a loss because I don't want to miss the rocket ship.
2. I think the market is finally crashing for good, I run to make a sale and liquidate. Suddenly, the market rebounds again shortly after my sale and shoots beyond where I sold initially.

This has happened more times than I care to count. It's literally the definition of FUD (fear, uncertainty and doubt) trading taking my profits away.

Don't be me. Hodl.

The best investment strategy is research and update, what comes next are basic buying and waiting.  Really investing is having sufficient knowledge of what's happening in the market and investing for the potent altcoins.

Now it is necessary to be flexible. I also do not know what strategies to adhere to. Bitcoin has fallen, altcoins have fallen and after the new year may fall and what will happen to people who invest and freeze?

Title: Re: best investment strategies

For me the best investment strategy is to divide your investments and do not put all the eggs in the same basket For example if you have 1 btc its is best to invest in 10 coins instead of 1 coin because if you by one coin and if it go down your whole portfolio will get down and you will loose there if you invest in 10 coins and if 4 of them get down and 6 0f them increase so you would still earn profit instead of losing so its better to invest in different good coins.

I often divide my capital into different parts to reduce business risk and diversify in investment channels. My business broth is never to put eggs in the same basket.

I like to look at the obvious (team, idea, etc) and then the market cap along with bonuses. Then after all of that, it would be practical application.

Here's an example:

I am going in on the bee token because
a) great idea of decentralizing airbnb with blockchain
b) they charge zero commissions (huge if you use airbnb as a host/guest)
c) crazy team from google, uber, and facebook
d) market cap is $15m for pre-sale and public
e) they have a prototype ready
f) very good partnerships that will boost their market share when they launch
g) bonuses when you participate
h) have a vesting period

They tend to get lazy about their coin if the ICO is done for the month. They just want to profit from and nothing else if their coin was successful thats a different story but rarely some of the coin get success from signature campaign. Due to spammers.

My investment strategy is day trading and also hold some coin for long term investment. So i will divide my money in to hold for longterm by porfolio 70% and for day trading 30%. I can handle it because im totally focus and spend much time on this cryptocurrency market. For long term investment i hold some coin that has strong in fundamental, i choose about 5 coin that has huge potential and then hold a few month.  For day trading is more risky and indeed too consuming much time, but i like to do that only to learn more about technical analysis.

Anyone who tries to tell you that the “X” cryptocurrency is the absolute best cryptocurrency to invest in, probably has a very large vested interest in it.

But you only made money in those investments, if you understood why they were good investments AND you had a reason to keep those investments for the long term. Otherwise there would have been a big temptation to sell them as soon as you made a little bit of profit.

If you don't understand what a cryptocurrency does or why it's valuable, then don't invest in it. Many of these cryptocurrencies are going to be a passing fad.

Best strategy is something that needs to be reflected against your goals and ability to take risks. I for example hold approx 70% of my coins and with the rest I am doing day trading. Former gives me security and stability, latter accumulates Eth and BTC. Some trade cycles are medium, 1-2 months, some cycles few hours. It all depends on the coins volume, volatility and maturity. Unmature coins I am willing to let go, just to earn decent profit in the trade. Usually 5-15%. More established coins might even end up to holding, if TA suggests gradual increase in price. If the price is fluctuating, I will sell and buy back later for lower price.

This strategy plus the recent rise of the market has provided me decent profit and increase in number of coins. Suits me as it gives me both stability and excitement.

If you want to invest with a simple strategy you should observe the price of the coin you want to buy, if you want to have a decent profit you have to carefully watch every rise or fall of coin prices, if the coin is worth below you can directly to buy it and after that you can hold it and waiting to sell the coins you have purchased at the price you want, taking into account the initial capital and benefits you will get.

I suggest you to do normal trading, you need to make a strategy before start trading. Trading is not a game, this is serious job. If trading is difficult to you, I suggest you to invest your money in ICO. I have good experience about this, there is a coin called XCPO which the price was increased more than 100% after the ICO end. I think ICO is good for investment.

I do a lot of research before deciding about buying new Tokens. My portfolio is already loaded with new projects so I don't need to search for more. Advisable is to have 6-8 coins, easy to manage (news, general updates, milestones and follow on Telegram) I printed road map for the 2018 year for all my 14 ICO's in excel that helps me quickly find out what happened when. It took a little of research but is well worth it - now I can quickly check and anticipate price changes.

You already said it. It is time consuming. Not a lot of this ICO's will grow big when hitting the exchange. It takes time for them to establish their service after the ICO.
This are projects that havent started. Maybe you should pick one that already have a business and just using the ICO for upgrades in their service then maybe you can go for a short term investment with them.

Yes I think  it is good to buy different coins and hold it for a long time. Thus, I think the best investment strategy is holding your coin and being patient to wait until the value increases, in this case, you'll be able to earn without doing anything.

Rule of thumb, compose your portfolio of low-risk cryptocurrencies (BTC, ETH, others from top 10), moderate risk (solid projects after ICOs with working products) and high-risk (ICOs, pre-sales, etc). The key to strategy is distribution of your funds between these three classes in accordance with your strategy. It may be conservative, like 50/40/10, or risky like 33/33/33, maybe even 0/0/100. To avoid losing money, don't trade actively. Buy and hold for at least few months and don't read any news. And try to buy after price drops. Simple, but hard to follow.

So far i invested in bitcoin and some altcoin. My strategy is when bitcoin prices start to fall i immediately buy it, maybe that's a good time to buy bitcoin. And when bitcoin prices start rising i sell them, because my strategy to invest in bitcoin is short term. In contrast to altcoin, when i invest in altcoin i take for long-term investment.

For investment in ICO honestly, i haven't tried it. But from some articles i read before investing in ICO first seen is the developer of the ICO. If the ICO developers can be trusted that is a good ICO to be a place of investment. Actually investing in the crypto world is very risky if not understand it. Not a few people who failed to invest in the world crypto because it is less understanding investment strategy in the world of crypto. But many people are also successful in investing in the world of crypto because they have a good strategy for investment in the world of crypto.

My strategy is doing all of them. I get a little profit from day trading. My portofolio also a little grow with my holding coin and buy good ico.
We will be stupid when buy ico before researching it and will be clever if we want to spare time to look after the ico.

In my opinion, the best strategy that all i have is to do a lot of research and monitor the altcoins you want to invest. To this, you will see if this project is not just a shitcoin that pops out now a days.
You can join their telegram, see their website, read their whitepaper and also look at the roadmap.
After all of this, you can invest in your own risk, invest what you can afford to lose. Then eventually look at the coins you invested if its already active for trading. Buy low, sell high strategy is the best for this.
Keep holding those coins if you are not satisfied with the profit.

Buying ICOs is good as long as those are based on something real, not just speculation and gossip. I'm planning to invest in TeachMePlease in the coming month because it's based on a real objective necessity - people want to learn and improve, and there are a lot of those who could help them with just a few steps to facilitate their contact.
So ICOs isn't bad or stupid, you just need to consider seriously which ones to choose.

Further, I focus on indicators and fundamental factors. My last acquisitions are TRON (TRX) and Neblio (NEBL). Let's see what happens.

The altcoins can win more in the long term.
The Dent you bought for $ 100 is now $ 5,000, and the Waves you bought for $ 1,000 are now $ 100,000. If you manage to keep it out of a sell, a good coin makes x20 very easy.

Although I am a  person who don’t use ICOs, I still believe in its future. Honestly, i think you should think in positive way, because with digital investment we all know that the most important strategies is our patience as same as interest in it .You say that you invest 2-3 icos for every month, I think it’s a bad choice and easily get mistakes .You should diversify your coins such as bitcoin, altcoin for example, to limit the risks. You should  expect on what you choose to invest.

Buying tokens when it hit the exchange for the first time and the price is lower than the ICO's price could be good strategy to pick. Bounty hunters tend to sell their rewards as the tokens hit the exchange. But for sure, we have to pick only the token from ICO's that draw our attention only.

My investment strategy is buying and holding. I feel that day trading is time consuming and stressful as well. I agree that some coins’ prices fall after ICO but not all projects. That is why we have to research carefully before investing. Solid projects are still worth investing in.
I only tried day trading once and the migraine I had for that day is something I have never had in my life, so I just decided to switch to  following of trends and trading based on some analysis and to me that seems to make more sense. However, holding some of these coins from the trading that I do is one investment strategy that has really paid me a lot and I believe would even pay me more in the future.

My strategy is to always look for good projects and then hold as many as I can most especially when I have the chance to buy most of them at dips.

With this, there is always going to be a guarantee of having good profit on these coins in the long run rather than putting all my eggs in one basket. This has really helped me over the years as a lot of these coins have really made some pretty good profit and I believe they will keep making those huge profits in the long run.

I prefer buying and holding. I do not know why I do not really feel good about trading. Unlike holding, all I have to focus is on the price od what I am holding, rather than studying many coins just to get the right thing.

I agree, with that. Trading takes so much time and not to mention, it is very tricky and risky. Holding for me is the best strategy and it worked to many of the people back then. Look at them now. Very agreeable. It will only depend on what kind of risk we want to take. Also lifestyle. It will also depend what lifestyle we have. Wether we are busy on our mainstream job or just unemployment. best investment strategy = research --> think --> buy --> hold
no listening to experts , do no afraid when you have a very strong feeling of confidence about something

making a deep research is important because thats the only way we can decide will the coin have actual use?
there are solid projects with a coin that wont go up because it has no use and after small thinking i realize that coin wont go up (this ones i dont invest)
there are shitty coins that will pump (this ones for small amount investment and ready to sell at x5 x10)
and there are good projects with big investors behind and a good use case (this one for big investments and for HOLD)

I guess I have not been able to provide the best investment strategy yet. But I think I can give you the easiest investment strategy in my opinion. The easiest way to invest is to buy or collect a currency, then keep it for a long time. We can burry a cryptocurrency and then we sell when the price has soared. That way we can profit. This way can also be referred to as trading. Only, this way is called long-term investment because it takes a long time. However, this method is powerful and used by many people. Just select the appropriate currency.

I think this is the most common technique people are doing now. As the price of bitcoin and some altcoins as well are steadily gaining, many have chosen to buy and hold on to them for future profit. However, that move can sometimes be bad for the market, since the demand goes up, but the supply is put on a stand still because no one is getting rid of their coins. So, the smaller market players are not getting any movement that unfortunately kills most of them out, if not, loses their traction and potential.

Investing in icos is very risky. Before you put your money in first try to do a little research. Always check who is behind rhe ico. The developers the people behind it are very important for you to know if its legit. Then read the whitelist. The  whitelist gives you the idea of what the program is all about. When tge ico goes live, most of the time it dips so don't sell yet. Just hold it and sell until you feel satisfied with your gains.

This is just the perfect strategy anyone can ever do. I have known one thing about alts, and that is the fact that a time would always come when they will really have some huge dips and while I could have missed some interesting ones I wait for those right moment to get into some of them.

This pays a lot and knowing that this simply means more like building a future for you. Not all of them would grow at the same pace, but they will surely all do well.

the investment strategy I think is very classical, where we have enough capital and include funds to ICO or buy coins at a cheap price then sell at the highest price, but it needs to be observed whether at the time we sell the price of coins can go up higher or not. if the coin prediction can rise to the highest level we can hold temporarily to sell at the highest price.

to date, investments in Bitcoin have very attractive characteristics, especially if you look at the price of Bitcoin and how well it can rise. But if you look at how long transactions are and how much interest is paid, then all the attractiveness can decrease.

Strategic planning which focuses on long-range horizon and is performed diligently and programming or intermediate-range planning which involves identification of broad programs in the functional areas such as marketing plan, a finance plan, and a production plan that makes a project successful.

And sometimes I am simply frustrated when hearing shit tons of people saying that buying icos is stupid.. but I guess its not so time consuming as day trading..

My strategy about investment is same like you do, analyze to take coin and hold it until the price comes up. About ICO's, I'm not take part about it, only just try to get free coin ( bounty ) not invest/ trade. ICO is new project/ coin and need more time to survive. I can't invest/ trade if the ICO/ coin have age under 2 years. Just like that, never forget your stop loss and see you next time.

dont put everything on one basket
some post above already said that
ICO is risky .. i agree with that because we buy an idea, not an actual product
if you are good analizing a project, do that and try it
if you are good at trading, dont buy ICO, just wait it until it reach exchange
split it betweet some altcoin or token that you know have good team and good idea

From what I have learned from crypto is that there are no hard and fast rules or golden rules that we can follow. There are times when trading alts gives great returns and then there are times when flipping ICO seems to work for me. So my strategy actually keeps on changing with situation.

We must not hold the rules, every rule has an exception, a good research would be necessary for a good investment, however it will depend on what you are looking ,for a short term or long term investment. In relation to ICO, team, Marketing, project, community are essential for success.

My investment strategy is to hold mainstream coins for a long time, and then part of the profits gained from the increase to participate in ICO. I think this is probably the best way to profit in this market, and the risk is not great.

My investment strategy is buying and holding. I feel that day trading is time consuming and stressful as well. I agree that some coins’ prices fall after ICO but not all projects. That is why we have to research carefully before investing. Solid projects are still worth investing in.

I suggest to going all in on one currency and sticking with it. This is simple because it allows for not worrying about what the rest of the market is doing.

As the saying goes, result depends on the amount of sacrifice (capital) incurred. When wanting big (profit) results, great sacrifices (capital) must be spent. Capital does not have to be money, time can also be called capital. When trading every day, it takes a lot of time to monitor, but this will be proportional to the results (profit) that obtained.

If we had decided to take something in crypto, just make is wisely based on research and analysis. And, of course, we must be responsible for any kinds of efforts, risks, and profits that we will require form the participation in crypto. Investing in ICOs is very risky, however, if we really want to make it as a long hodl, I think it may be worth. however, of course, investigating and analyzing the ICO projects are very important to determine whether they are worthy or not after in the market. Additionally, it is very important to invest only in the ready-product ICO project. However, besides investing in crypto, it is very useful to invest in some trusted altcoins.

The strategy that I adopt is investing in multiple altcoins then hold and wait for the market to take a roll. I am not saying all your altcoins will go higher but some will and they will cover and compensate the gains of the other altcoins as well. After you get the desired gain, just withdraw some profit from it and reinvest it in the crypto world again. This is the cycle I follow, keeps me safe from huge losses :D

My crypto funds is diversified. Half of my portfolio is for position trading wherein I buy at support and sell at resistance, cut loss a few ticks below the support level. The other half is for long term investment which I will hold for 5-10 years and will continue to accumulate through buying every bottom, staking, and having a masternode (BTC, WAGE, GRFT, WAVES, etc.). I believe that maintaining your strategy until you achieve your goal is important in gaining profit in crypto market volatility.

And sometimes I am simply frustrated when hearing shit tons of people saying that buying icos is stupid.. but I guess its not so time consuming as day trading..

what is your strategy??? and what are pros and cons of your strategy??

This is my strategy:

- Premined or not?

Premined coins are too suspicious. The devs take an initial big slice for themselves always justifying that with some philosophical rhetoric but there are many past examples of total scam coins using this scheme.

- ICO or no ICO?

I don't like ICOs, I prefer to invest in an already ongoing project with given proof of stability and endurance. I'm not saying all ICOs are scams, but same of them are for sure!

- How old is the coin?

In my book, if a coin is still being actively traded after 3/4 years of existence, this has to mean something; there is a faithful community behind it.

- Is it still being actively developed?

Following the previous point, if after 3/4 years the coin still has a dev team committed to it with real plans for the future, then it has a real project!

- Does it have any real use besides pure pump and dump speculation?

Is the coin being used for any kind of purchases? If not, are there any plans for it? Otherwise, it will only be a play toy for trading.

- Does it have an active and large community?

How large is the community? Is it still active or everybody left a long time ago?

- Is it PoW of PoS?

Proof of Work is a dead end, the power consumption is obscene. Not viable for the average domestic crypto enthusiast. Proof of Stake can be done with a Rasberry Pi ;D

- Fully functioning wallet?

Some coins have terrible wallets, unstable, not user friendly. This is a key factor, the software has to be in line with the state of the art crypto developments.

- What is the current marketcap?

A coin already above 100mil might not be the best bet if you can find a good one below 100 mil with a good growth perspective.

- What is the current/total coin supply?

Scarcity might prove to be an added value in the long run if you are planning to hold a coin and leave it for your kids!

Long term investments:

I currently have a few long term investments and they all share a set of fundamental characteristics:

- PoS assets

I truly believe PoW is a dead end due to the obscene power consumption. PoS assets require minimal resources, like a Raspberry PI.

PoS v3 are fantastic and I own a few masternodes.

- Old assets

I don't trust the ICO model, it's prone to all kinds of schemes. Some ICOs might be genuine but it's almost impossible to distinguish them from the plethora of scams.

I invest in well established projects, still being actively developed after 3 or 4 year of existence.

- Realistic figures

Many new projects promise crazy returns like ~70k% ROI/year. It might work for a couple weeks but the inflation will kill all these scams after a short period of time.

For the long run, it's better to choose reasonable figures like ~20%/year or even less.

Risk management:

1 - Study

2 - Don't fall for the latest ultimate coin/token. It's probably another scam...

3 - Study a bit more

4 - Never invest what you can't afford to lose.

5 - Keep studiyng

6 - Never borrow to invest in crypto

7 - Choose wisely and start with small investments

8 - Don't sell in panic. Don't buy in euphoria.

9 - Relax

10 - Enjoy  ;D

Personally, I use a long-term investment strategy. This is the most clear and pleasant investment strategy. For example, you take several promising coins: bitcoin and ethereum. After the purchase, your task is to wait a long time for a big jump in the course. As practice shows, this strategy in the cryptocurrency market fully pays for itself.

If you have decided the certain strategies to buy or invest in ICOs, never regret it and never be frustrated. It will only make you panic and then sell out your coins even at the lower price. Just keep your coins as the long or short investment (depend on the coins). Then, you yourselves who can decide whether to buy or sell the coins at the right time.

How do you know when will the market reach the bottom and when will going to its highest? As far as I know no one does, but most of the people buy at the lowest possible price, youre considered lucky if you purchased at the bottom dip. Then sell it during the highes possible price, but then again youre considered lucky when you sell during the highest price on a perfect timing. I assume this is what youre supposed to mean?

The best strategy to invest with crypto is to buy as many coins as possible with superior quality when the price is cheap. Then, holding it in several allocations, ie long-term and short-term. Long term is a useful strategy for you to save your future investment assets in the crypto. While short-term is your strategy to enjoy profit in a short time. Then sell some of them when their prices are up and stable in the safety situation.

I don't trust ICO's Because most of the government regulations are going against them and that is a big turning factor in their price.
Generally the price thends to decrease a lot from the expected output and it's really something that needs to be considered before getting into that.
I just keep a good amount in wallet and hold for long terms and when there are fluctuations going on that are essentially very high and very low I generally begin trading actively.
As in selling when the price is high and buying again when it's low, it gives passive income and is worth it many times .
I just go for BTC and ETH since they are the most promising ones.

We need to manage risk. Put 60% of your money in low risk (buy a house and wait 10-20 years) 30% in medium risk (buy stocks and wait 5-10 years) and 10% in high risk like crypto.

Don’t dismiss everything Warren Buffet says. I hope (and think) he is wrong on crypto but the man knows the game and his base concept of investing in a product with good fundamentals for the long term is 100% spot-on. I follow his advice on playing the stock market, but not crypto.

Tons of worthless projects so be wary of that, common advice is that you should spread the investment that you will make but the truth is it's not that easy to do that, preferring to have quantity over quality is dangerous you may get frustrated, we are talking about ICO's so risk is great compared to the ones who have an established products and exchanges as you can see them on the top crypto on CMC, deep research for the whitepaper, their proposed product, and the team is necessary, focus more on quality but don't disregard the quantity.

I just hold because I believe it will reach new heights the pundits wouldn't of ever imagined. Well I can't say I held everything. I cashed out those huge gains but there is enough in there to buy me a new house when it does get there.

I'm like 50% in it for tech, the rest is for money.

Also you have to research everything that you just said not everybody has the time to research it extensively like you have.

I have a strategy with a declining market price. and I bought coins that many people demanded. At a time when market prices are falling, it is an opportunity to do as much as possible and I will make sales as market prices begin to increase. and it's a very satisfying income. and no need to rush if the market price falls. it will cause an accident in trading.

I do invest in ICO projects which I see the potential in it. Other than that, my strategy is to buy in more bitcoin and altcoins when the prices are low during market dips. I refrain from buying hyped coins with prices more than 20% of its original price.

and day trading is not recommended anyway, you wanna advice for investment but wanna to get profit like day trading. that doesn't make sense. really dangerous and i advice don't use it even with a condition of market like this

Hodling doesn't gives stability at all!

Think about the guys who bought BTC at ~19k USD...

Some are probably still hodling but at what cost? Is that stability?

Maybe the stability he was referring to is the stability of the mind as you won't have to worry what is going on in the present moment, but focus more on the future. That has always been the idea anyway but we all know trader have a better chance in making more profit both in the short and long term than a straight up holder will ever make as long as he is good with it.

To begin with, we note that there are 3 strategies in crypto-investment: basket trading, long-term investment and short-term. under the third strategy impatient people who want fast profit :) but because of risk to leave in a minus as a result of the transaction we will not consider it. further, you have to collect emotions in a fist. yes, the crypto-currency market is unstable, yes, you may have to be nervous, but be patient. if you adhere to the buy-hold strategy, do not pay attention to the decline in prices, but just wait patiently for its recovery. personally, I adhere to this particular species.

I have an offer for you, if you use that strategy then you have to sell in privatel sales, usually private sale is higher when appealed when ICO.

I choose day trading for my strategy. It has the most of my net profit so far. I could say that your profit movement is much faster than investing in ICO. This is why I always wanted to play the market in day trading since it is also a gambling. If you are lucky enough then most probably you will gain profit higher than what you expect.

My strategy focuses on the big market moves and big moves of individual coins. It’s a long-term strategy with options for mid-term action. It has been built with the strong conviction that cryptocurrencies and blockchain are unstoppable forces that will become household names and be used by the masses over the coming years.

With this strategy, I’ve been trying to build a systematic approach to buying low and selling high that will continuously increase the value of my portfolio. It rides the big waves of the crypto market in a relaxed way. Don’t try to predict anything, but just go with the flow. Also, don’t sweat the small movements. The market is incredibly volatile, and the sooner you accept this and learn to ignore it, the better.

That's an investment tactic, not quite a strategy yet. If you have 2-3 coins, it's a start but you are still massively exposed to risks.

I am trading stocks for over a decade and crypto since last year. I also agree that is easier to trade stocks, simply because the volume is so high that a few whales or big investors cannot influence the market as easily by dumping their shares. It‘s great you have a diversification plan instead of going into just one coin but also think about moving assets from crypto to fiat, stocks or raw materials and precious metals. Otherwise you will still be massively exposed as you have all of your eggs in one basket. Different eggs in size and colour but all eggs. If the basket falls, your eggs still get crushed. Like we saw what happened yesterday.

A good investment strategy, in my opinion, is to buy lots of coins that have been proven to be profitable. Then hold them until they increase and make maximum profits. After that, while you are still waiting for the development of your coin, you can invest or participate in the ICO. I have only had a strategy with declining coin prices on the market. and when prices decline, I buy coins that many people demand and demand. And when prices start to increase and tend to be normal, I will make sales because the price of coins in the market starts to increase. and that's a very satisfying income because surely I can make a profit. if the price goes down, you don't need to panic. because all that is the process of coins that will be stable again.

Tell me, how do you choose the best projects? Do you have a special system?
I've been doing crypt for more than 2 years. But at the moment I can't choose a good ICON project! There is so much SCAM around that the choice is so difficult..

Look, if you can select the right icos then that strategy can be very profitable but most of the time that is not the way thing works, most of the icos in which you invest are going to fail and you are going to run out of money before you find the right coin, that is why I prefer to invest for the long term and hold my coins especially bitcoin, I know that for some this strategy is too conservative but I think it is prudent taking into account the great volatility of this market.

It all depends on what kind of risk you are willing to take and what kind of profitability you expect. But we need to take into account the realities of the market. First, the market is now falling and it is unknown when it will grow. That is, you need to count on a period of 2 to 5 years. Secondly, most of the ICOs ceased to show good profitability. Immediately after listing on the exchange, many tokens are very seriously losing in value.

My investment strategy is determined by my investment objective. Striving for stability, combining long-term investment with short-term operation, long-term investment accounts for 60%, and short-term investment accounts for 40%. Long-term investment will be more than doubled to be considered for sale. The short-term operation will be sold as long as 10% of the profit, in fact, during the investment process, I found that long-term investment can get a more lucrative return.

Sell and invest in some mining at the desired price to get a steady income.

Then it was easy, because the drops for 2-3 hours on many coins were often 10%. In 2018 the situation in my opinion has changed. In the present, I buy a good coin in my opinion and just keep it.

Title: Re: best investment strategies
Post by: BartS on August 19, 2018, 08:59:51 PM
my strategy in investment is actually very simple. I will only be investing in a project that is indeed his softcap already achieved. And I usually only part of a capital investment that I have only. The rest I use for other things that can also produce.

Although that is quite a strategy to jump-in consider also how can you maximize your returns from your investment. Like there are particular number of phases in ICOs in their marketing strategy, some offer more discounts during the ICO and you could take that opportunity to buy few tokens or coins rather than waiting it to reach its soft/hardcap and invest in the second or n-phase of the ICO. I can see that you're strategy is sort of a play-safe investment.
When it comes to icos there is not such a thing as playing it safe, it does not matter what you do there are always going to be risk that you will need to face and when we look at the market and the recent performance of many icos I do not see why it is a good idea to invest in icos now when most of them can be gotten for way cheaper after they are listed in an exchange, so the best thing to do is to study the icos and make a list of the ones you like and buy in the market for cheaper than the ico price.

If you choose the right ones I don't think it's a problem, in fact it can generate very good profits, because all you need is for one of those ICOs to moon x10 and you've recovered your investment of the year and that's very likely, you can also make hodl that's even more relaxed, but it would mean investing in one of the coinmarketcap top 50 and hope it explodes.

My investment strategy is buying and holding. I feel that day trading is time consuming and stressful as well. I agree that some coins’ prices fall after ICO but not all projects. That is why we have to research carefully before investing. Solid projects are still worth investing in.

Agree that trading is time-consuming and stressful.

My strategy:
-  buy only highly liquid coins (eth, btc, etc) which you can sell at any time 24-7-265
- never use leverage/margin trading
- after the deal keep your assets on your personal account (not on an exchnage)

This is probably the only strategy that is going to work in the current climate, almost all the coins are going down or not moving too much so trading is a waste of time, the best thing we can do is to try to take a position early and wait until the next bull market appears, the disadvantage of this strategy is that it is very likely the next bull market is not going to appear until a few years pass so you will have to be very patient in order to profit from the strategy you have chosen.

You yourself need to understand that it never works for everyone. Don’t let what people are saying to distract or make you give up. You’re already buying ICOs and from what you just said I believe that you’re making profit from it already, so don’t others who are probably losers to deceive you. Stick to that if it’s bringing profit for you.

As for me,  I’m into Hodl and trading and there are people who complain that Hodl is totally bullshit because whales are manipulating the price,  same thing as trading,  but I’m benefiting from both so they can’t deceive me. Whether you gain from it or lose, it’s all their business and none of mine.

And no need to rush if the market price falls, it will cause an accident in trading. Thought?

The best strategy is to simply wait, I know the price of the coins at ICO may seem quite low but when the coins hit exchanges they are definitely hitting the exchanges at a lower price than the ICO price which means that you can buy more and make more profit. Also it is best to wait until after they pay the bounty hunters, once the hunters start dumping then the price goes down.

That is the safest strategy but at the same time many people in the forum want to obtain big profits out of their investments and you cannot do that by following the safest path, there are also many other coins that are not as popular or as powerful as those two coins but that are still going to be here for a long time and that can give you great profits, you just need to buy them when their price is really cheap and since the market crashed at the beginning of the year almost all the coins in the market can be bought for a very cheap price.

1 Bitcoin is your capital trading:

0.1 Buy Doge at 30 sat
0.1 Buy Doge at 40 sat
0.1 Buy Doge at 50 sat
0.1 Buy Doge at 60 sat
0.1 Buy doge at 70 sat

0.5 Bitcoin on the HODL for Bakc Up when the DOGE price drops to 1 satoshi.

Buy low and sell high. Those two are the basic things that we always forgot because we are impatient. Happened to me couple of times and I regret doing it. Its worst than panic selling because it can ruin your capital and strategy. I am trying to buy a coin in different prices so it can give the flexibility to sell and not just relying on the next bull run. I need to earn everyday so I can feed my family.

although investment does require the right strategy to generate profitable profits. Apart from that for investment now I recommend coins that have an ever-increasing development. so it is very capable of making far more profits.\

I personally prefer a long-term investment but sometimes do some day trading. A day trading is a very rare thing as it is hard to find a free time for that if you have a full-time job at the office.

I need to earn everyday so I can feed my family.
sometimes market conditions always decrease, make us panic and finally make us sell our assets even though they are not in line with our targets, but in my opinion it's natural and everyone might experience it.
but along with the more hours of your flight, it will definitely decrease. I am sure that your experience will be useful someday.

For me the best investment strategy is trading, you don't need to be a day trading. You may just set a percentage of your target profit. Buy when low, set a target price then sell. It is also good to check the market chard from time to time to know the trend. Investing in ICO is also great and can make you good profit but the risk is high especially nowadays.

My personal investment strategy is buy and hodl coins that are PoS. Staking helps you with finding stability (or some form of it) in a volatile market. Also, dPos, Masternodes, and other forms of coins that give you a reward just by hodl-ing are all good too.

Just don't forget that day trading leads to taxes ;)

What people's say it's true because in my opinion investing in icos isn't a good investment anymore, our money will freeze in that icos maybe for 3-4 month because of KYC and waiting for the exchange. I just do a daily trading, it's very good in this market condition.

My investment strategy is to buy coins at low price and hold till my price targets. I tend to avoid buying when the prices have gone up for more than 50% in one run.
because the investment strategy and trading are the same. the same as buying at a low price to be held until the price of the coin rises, then we sell the coin. because with us investing in the long term, the results we will get are also great later

Good investment necessarily has to be able to give a profit to us. By buying coins at a low price and sell it when the price of coins goes up. This is a very good method, but we must also be able to learn about the nature of crypto coins. Because in the for-profit world crypto is very difficult.

My investment strategy is buying and holding. I feel that day trading is time consuming and stressful as well. I agree that some coins’ prices fall after ICO but not all projects. That is why we have to research carefully before investing. Solid projects are still worth investing in.
Nice strategy and in my own strategy, I think wisely before doing such thing because it is so hard to be careless this time, we might lose our money in just a blink of an eye.

Having an investment is not easy because you can encounter a risk and losses but you can slightly avoid those losses but not the risk. The first thing you must consider is you should have a good asset, trust only those coin the have potential or trusted by many people. Even its risky atleast there's possibility you can get profit from it especially when you invest in bitcoin.

I have compiled  portfolio of cryptocurrencies. I have various tokens that are currently listed on the exchange. Sell some part and invest in ETH. ETh invest in 4-5 ICO per month. Investing in ICO is much more profitable than participating in a bounty. In any case, you are moving forward on the total value of your tokens.

I think the best investment method would be to choose the best coin that shows progress even during this bad market condition and probably hold different coins to avoid loses or atleast get a advantage over sudden changes in value. Diversifying coins may atleast help a bit though this might not be a guaranteed solution.

I prefer to trade. This is the only possible way to earn something. Previously, you could just wait for the price to rise. But at the moment such a strategy no longer works. Prices have fallen many times. Perhaps in the future the situation will change, but at the moment I do not see a better way than trading.

Best investment at this moment is to buy bitcoin as well something in the top listed altcoins. Once this process is completed, need to leave the funds as it is and forget for years with private keys safe on their hands. This will surely make a big change, because long we hold larger will be the profiting.

The best investment strategy each has its own.
In my opinion, the decision will depend on the valency of the cryptocurrency market.
For the period of market decline, it seems to me good to buy promising coins in order to sell them during the period of growth and recovery of the market.
And hold the coins you have.

My investment strategy is a combination of three profit streams. First is a long-term investment in coins that are in the top coinmarketcap. The second is short-term trading in coins, but it carries great risks. And the third is participation in the companies of bounty social networks and signatures of ICO projects.

In order to choose a good ICO, you need experience, because it is quite difficult to understand which ICO is better and why. It is also very important not to get to the scams ICO, which is now incredibly much. Therefore, I came to the conclusion that it is better not to risk just to buy bitcoin or Ethereum and leave these coins for long-term investment. Be careful if you decide to invest in ICO. If you have a person who understands investing in cryptocurrencies better than you, then you can consult with him and get his opinion about the project.

Basically, before joining the crytpocurrency world we must be able to understand it well so that we can see the opportunities that exist and avoiding things that are risky. that is an important thing where we must be able to manage our crypto assets well to make a profit.Cryptocurrency also started with nothing, but now there are around some millions of users or more. As people are getting to know the technology behind it, i.e., blockchain and the pros, that is driving them towards using virtual currencies.

The blockchain (the technology behind cryptocurrencies) space is growing faster than ever. As the technology is growing, more and more people got to know about the cryptocurrency (https://coinswitch.co/news/how-does-the-future-of-cryptocurrencies-look-in-2019-expert-opinions-and-forecast) and started to trade. The use cases and predictions speak a lot about the future of cryptocurrency in 2019 and even after that.

My best strategy is trading. buy when market gonna down for good currency and sell the when they rise 20% even more !

you can earn money within hours or day

how to choose that, i mean which coin will be potential in that day.
are you have some tips or what, can you share that with me.
20% is big deal, i will take half of that for few hours.
