Protip: Zoom out on the chart. Obviously not a bear market.
2  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 23, 2024, 09:13:54 AM
Did something happen to Bitstamp TradeView?

https://www.bitstamp.net/market/tradeview/

I get an empty white area with an empty black bar instead of a chart...

Where do you get your Bitstamp charts from? No, ChartBuddy doesn't count.

Huh? I got mine from Tradingview. No glitches so far.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which wallet is better for lightning network on: May 23, 2024, 04:09:18 AM
Electrum is the gold standard. And highly recommended among many forum users here, as you can obviously see...

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's your experience using web3 wallets? on: May 21, 2024, 11:30:52 PM
Wtf is a web3 wallet?
Was the notion of owning a regular wallet not decentralized enough? Sounds like marketing BS.

6  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is KUCOIN in trouble? on: May 21, 2024, 11:22:52 PM
All centralized exchanges are in trouble. Centralized services likes exchanges are not compatible with decentralized technologies. That is why they all get perpetually sued. Keep away from CEX as much as possible.

Wow I really did not expect Nano to perform so badly...

I think we might see 74k before tomorrow.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does bitcoin need more developers? on: May 21, 2024, 12:08:48 AM
It is not something that is "owned" by the current devs. Nor is Bitcoin something that devs can control. It is 100% open source and community driven.

Bitcoin developers are just regular people. Anyone can become a Bitcoin dev, if you prove that you can improve Bitcoin and impress the Bitcoin community by doing so... Then you get to be part of Bitcoin history! Yay!

Being a dev is not a job position at some company, though. (although devs get hired by big names - they are basically just hired influencers with actual skills)
11  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 20, 2024, 11:51:47 PM
Looks like I was right about the inverse head and shoulder formation. Man, if I did leverage trading right now... I would probably not have Bitcoin anymore. Because leverage trading is gambling.

Two immature plants?
Then it was either a moron or a teenager (or both).

Oh well, it was a fun little experiment while it lasted. Can't have anything nice around kids. Grin

Apropos, update on the "cornabis":

Thanks everyone for your help and advice!
The leaves are no longer yellow! The leaves have now become invisible. Because somebody stole both plants.
13  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is "Sell in May" really a good idea (in the case of Bitcoin)? on: May 19, 2024, 02:07:08 PM
Stay clever, sell never.

That rhyme sounds more like something that would help people not lose out on their investment. Selling in may just because of some superstitious trading thing is ridiculous, and as OP has shown us, makes no logical sense...
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Trading on telegram bot is safe or not? on: May 19, 2024, 01:52:07 PM
I would not trust a third party app to handle my money. That is not what the point of cryptocurrency is, in the first place.

If you absolutely have to use that bot then at least do some thorough research on whether or not it is open source.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: A new type of shills similar to ICO scammers, this is called Key Opinion Leaders on: May 17, 2024, 08:55:06 AM
Aren't "Key Opinion Leaders" just influencers under a difference name? That seems to be the case, to me.

I would never trust any influencer, no matter what they say or do. They only have one agenda: to make money from promoting something. You cannot really put your trust into someone like that.
16  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 16, 2024, 03:56:42 PM

Sure looks like it’s Ukraine that’s going to get the next infusion, or are you considering that is already happening? I would think India would be China’s target, along with Africa. I have a little bit different take on the US motivation behind these foreign investments. I think the US gives away so much money to other countries because they want to make sure more people are using the dollar. Sort of a sneaky way to print money and grow adoption without causing more inflation that the USD has benefitted from for 100+ years. This playbook will burn once the BRICS currency takes hold (could have been BTC if it could scale on chain).

It's been happening for a good while. Hence the fuss when it started to be looked into. Probably the big turning point was the government changes in 2014 which some allege the US had some involvement in.

oh, my, ChartBuddy can speak now...run for the hills,  Grin Grin

17  Other / Off-topic / Re: Income programming on: May 16, 2024, 03:35:49 PM
What can you program to earn a lot of money? I'm 19, can do Java with OOP but don't want to make websites (I don't like that)
Maybe something along the lines of Solidity?

If you want to make money, you can start by making a service thread on the following board: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0

You can also browse the threads, maybe you will find someone looking for a java dev?

Be sure to give details on what you are offering exactly. I recommend using trusted escrow and watching out for scammers, though.

I doubt anyone will want to hire a 19 year old dev with a single skill at normal dev prices, but you can definitely offer your services as a programmer and see how it goes. Nothing is stopping you.
18  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Join Our Fight Against Crypto Scams - Contribute to CryptoLinks.com! on: May 16, 2024, 03:31:25 PM
If you need a source of scam data then check out and explore this board.

This is where the Bitcointalk community reports scams. That is your best source of scam data.
19  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Has anyone tried Xeggex ? on: May 15, 2024, 12:01:05 PM
https://www.trustpilot.com/review/xeggex.com

Take a look at some other reviews it has, I pay extra attention to the negative reviews when assessing a website. I've never personally used this website.

Trustpilot has been accused of extortion[1]. Ironically, I would not trust the reviews of Trustpilot.

[1] https://medium.com/@ryanbadger/how-trustpilot-extorts-businesses-91ca4b6a6f62

But I would compare the reviews with reviews from other review websites or forums. Although that kind of research might take a bit of time. But it is always best to DYOR.
