1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: May 22, 2024, 11:01:58 PM
What do you guys think of Leverkusen getting a proper beating from Atalanta and ending their 51 games without a loss streak? Will this affect their performance next season? Do you consider them to be the favourite to defend their title (if no major changes to the team are made)?

I think it was a sobering reality check and a signal that they need to continue working hard to repeat their success and nothing will be given to them for free. There was almost something magical about their undefeated streak, especially given the 3 recent 90+ minute equalisers, which could create an impression that there's some higher power behind them preventing them from losing. They might have believed it a little bit too much and got a cold shower.

Finally some interesting fight card coming in UFC, Islam Makhachev vs Dustin Poirier sounds interesting on paper, but I have no doubt Makhachev will win this fight in Khabib style.

That's what everyone thinks, but it's not like Dustin will show up in there just to take a beating and get his cheque. He's got a really good wrestling sparring partner (Gamrot) and will definitely show up with a plan to keep the fight in stand-up or neutralise Islam's ground game, e.g., similar to how Volk did it in their first fight.
Islam grows more and more confident in his striking, so I won't be surprised if he's willing to trade shots with Dustin at the beginning, and there's when things can go wrong for him.

lol

It is time to take his belt and remove him from ranking for not activity. If not mistaken, second UFC milking cow lost his lightweight belt after a years of inactivity. Bones fought last time in March 2023. It is time to give belt to Aspinal.
Nah, he was ready to fight but got injured, so can't blame him for that. And I blame the UFC for the fact that they allowed him to fight Stipe instead of Aspinall after his recovery.
He should be stripped if he refuses to fight Tom (or whoever will be holding the interim belt) after his fight with Stipe.
WOW! Paolo Costa is a Crypto Enthusiast!
Is he though? Sounds like he advises ditching Bitcoin in favour of fat girls. Don't be falling for that.

If i understood properly, no campaign is accepting new accounts?

According to the latest table update - yes, all campaigns are now closed. But post directly above yours links to a new campaign that's still open for new participants.
Anyhow, this topic is for updates only, so for any discussion regarding signature campaigns see:

Un-banning mixers would be a good start  Smiley.

But honestly, I get the vibe that theymos doesn't really care too much about the forum traffic and whether it's growing or shrinking and sees himself more of an heir to Satoshi's legacy (he created this forum). In other words, he approaches it as more of a custodian rather than an entrepreneur, which is probably not a bad thing.

Leverkusen will have to lose eventually, so why not tomorrow?
(...)
I'd say that both teams (if performing at their 100%) are on a similar level, with Bayer being only slightly better. So I made a small double-chance bet on Atalanta at x1.94.

Many people here disagreed with me when I posted the above, but I'm not going to rub it in your faces. I'm also surprised with the result and thought Leverkusen would do much better than that.
I expected that, in the best-case scenario for Atalanta, they could steal a win by one goal or win the penalty shootout. Instead, they've proven to the world that they are no pushovers and are force to be reckoned with.
I suspect the fact that Atalanta is still fighting in the Serie A (with 2 more games to go), while Bundesliga has already concluded, has a pretty big effect on the result. It could be that Bayer subconsciously went into the relaxed, post-season mode, while Atalanta didn't lose their rhythm.
It could also be that the German team convinced themselves a little too much that they were invincible, which was reinforced by all the experts, fans and odds makers, and lost that underdog energy they started the season with. There's nothing worse you can do in any competition than to start celebrating before the game begins.

a third relegated team is also still being sought - korona kielce, warta poznań and puszcza are among the candidates

Warta is in a tough spot, they couldn't imagine any worse game to play in the final round than an away match against a highly motivated leader of the table fighting for the title.
They are currently outside of the relegation zone and the 16th Korona also has a hard game to play against Lech, but I don't think Lech has much left to play for (other than just for keeping their 4th place). There's a risk that Lech might do Korona a favour and let them win, although I don't think their fans would appreciate that.

And correct me if I'm wrong but I think Radomiak is also not yet safe from relegation.
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: May 21, 2024, 09:46:33 PM
I have never talked shit about him, just laughed and trolled Cheesy And all only due to him boring fighter with pillow fists and not being able to finish his opponent, while saying that he is a cool and great fighter. I will continue trolling until he will perform some more finishes Cheesy Your words Belal and brutal KO already sounds like a joke honestly speaking Cheesy Where have you found odds on their fight ? What is the odd for Belal by KO ? Cheesy
"The trolling continues until performance improves" is a fair policy Smiley
I got the odds from Unibet, but they only have one type of bet for MMA fights, so can't bet on Belal winning by KO. Maybe other sites will offer more markets closer to the fight (if anyone is aware of such, please share).
If the odds for that were around x10, I might consider it. It's an MMA after all, miracles can happen.

It's not gonna be a pretty fight but I think it could be a lot closer than anticipated.
I think so too. Leon had a streak of solid performances, but it's not like he's a dominant champion that is level above anyone else. He's definitely beatable even in front of his own fans.

There is an interesting situation with Pablo Costa again. In less than two weeks he is fighting Strickland, but several days ago Strickland posted in Twitter, that Costa did not sign the contract (again?).
I find it hard to believe. Would the UFC officially announce the fight if the contracts were not signed? Sounds odd.
10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2023/24 Season on: May 21, 2024, 09:23:28 PM

I don't mind Leverkusen winning it tomorrow, because we all like Cinderella stories - a team that nobody expected to win anything is having their best season ever and keeps on pumping their games without a loss record. But, at the same time, the odds for Atalanta look really attractive.
Leverkusen will have to lose eventually, so why not tomorrow? It's also possible that Bayer could lose the final in penalties, so technically speaking, they wouldn't lose the game and their undefeated run would not end.
I'd say that both teams (if performing at their 100%) are on a similar level, with Bayer being only slightly better. So I made a small double-chance bet on Atalanta at x1.94.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fixed supply doesn't matter (change my mind) on: May 21, 2024, 09:05:24 PM
If fixed supply can be infinitely inflated (when it comes to price) and thus creating a bubble that can burst, it is not being different from supply that is not fixed.

Fixed supply - price can be manipulated up by Tether
Non-fixed supply - price can be manipulated up by Tether AND can be manipulated down by increasing supply

Here's your difference. How hard is it to grasp?
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Premier League 2023/2024 Discussion Thread ⚽ on: May 20, 2024, 10:28:27 PM
(...) Some time ago it was said that Tottenham fans would rather lose than see Arsenal win, that was clearly very painful for Arsenal to hear.

Those times are long gone. We still pretend that there are some arch-rivalries between clubs from the same city, but no one cares about that anymore other than the fans.
Now all the top clubs have the majority of players and coaching teams that are not local, who changed their clubs multiple times in their careers and they'd simply put their personal interests before any club animosities.
So when they get paid bonuses for wins, goals scored or assists made and when good performance can be converted into better career opportunities - they would not sacrifice that and lose a game just to spite some rival team.

14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK 18th MAY 2024 re-scheduled on: May 19, 2024, 11:23:12 PM
And with that, there is a rematch, so another big money fight, but Fury took damage here so not sure how he will get back from this kind of psychological beating from Usyk. And yeah, we all know what he doesn't want to look at Usyk's eye because he is afraid and be intimidate by that scary looks.
I believe it's advised for fighters to have 6-12 month break after a knockout, but Fury was not KO'd cold (i.e. his body did not shut down) so I don't think he would need that long to recover. Plus, neither of them is getting any younger so they cannot afford to sit idle for too long, so the proposed date of rematch for October sounds reasonable.

If Fury does not win the rematch, his career would have ended very badly already, and it would mean Usyk is really the undisputed. (...)
Fury mentioned a few times before that he struggled to find motivation for regular fights that didn't have much on the line. So I wouldn't be surprised if he decided to retire if he were to fail the rematch. Or maybe he would just take Joshua for his final goodbye fight, as there was a lot of beef and some unsettled score between those two.
But whether or not his career would be over, it'll be entirely up to him. His name will still be so big that he wouldn't be complaining about the lack of options (for less money of course).
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do we know retail is FOMO-ing into Bitcoin? on: May 19, 2024, 10:42:54 PM
Right now I am not stating this is the case here but generally when I read the section I have quoted from your OP, I automatically become highly sceptical of the motives behind the post especially when it comes from a newbie account.

From my experience, in the suspicious cases it usually happens when puppeteers that are trying to build up their accounts and are hoping for merits as they try to invite discussion but as I said, I am not stating that is the case here but I remain highly sceptical.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

If you're not saying that he's a puppet account then why would you post this at all? What were your intentions behind making that post?

Should I feel indirectly accused of being a "puppeteer" because I sent him 1 merit?

We might be approaching another bull run, so it's more than expected to see newbies asking for advice on sell signals, etc, and asking for the community's opinion.
The forum activity in 2023 dropped by 30% as compared to 2022 and 2024 is not looking great either. Who are you helping by attacking newbies like this?
I really like your contributions to other topics, but I don't think you're fair here and I think you owe the guy a little apology, unless you have something more solid to back it up.
16  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Premier League 2023/2024 Discussion Thread ⚽ on: May 19, 2024, 10:25:08 PM
what happened in the premier league was predictable.
(...)

The final round was quite predictable, but not going to lie, I' was a bit surprised by the consistent win streaks of both top teams in the final stages.
Winning streaks of 6 for Arsenal and 9 for Man City were, statistically speaking, quite unlikely to happen in such a strong league. I was expecting them to show some season fatigue, similar to Liverpool, who were hanging in there for a long time, but couldn't withstand the pressure and dropped out of the title race.
Both teams can be proud of their performance, sadly, the winner could be only one.
17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK 18th MAY 2024 re-scheduled on: May 19, 2024, 10:13:19 PM
I'm not sure that Fury really wants this fight, maybe in words he is brave (as it always was, his mouth produced a lot of loud words) but in deeds he is a coward. After Usyk destroyed Fury's claim to legacy by making him a mere decoration, what's the point of him fighting again? I think he will be content with bumfights and by the way he is quite up to their level, he is finished.
I wonder what Usik himself will do next, he has completed boxing completely in two weight categories. Maybe it's worth leaving undefeated, maybe it's worth just making money and losing sooner or later... it doesn't matter since he's already soared to maximum heights.

I see you're not a Fury fan to the point that you're being unreasonable in your criticism.
Why would he be content in fighting bums? Not for the glory/legacy, that's for sure, so for money? A rematch with Usyk would yield them much more than a dozen bum fights.

He lost to Usyk in a close fight by split decision while dealing more physical damage to Usyk than the other way around. Of course he's not without a chance in a rematch, so why would he be afraid of it?

Plus, they had a rematch clause in the contract, both confirmed they want it to happen, and it's tentatively scheduled for 12th October, so this is happening unless one of them backs out of it (there could be some penalties involved though).
18  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 📝[Discussion topic] Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns📝 on: May 19, 2024, 04:07:51 PM
2017 was the first remarkable ATH to me as campaign participant. 2018 was the year of ICO i mean lots of ICO, IDO, IEO i dont remember others but thats the reason why those stats rise and even doubled.

Yup, that's precisely why the activity was through the roof in 2018 and the primary reason for developing the merit system to prevent spam. The mechanism was simple - create another "groundbreaking" bullshit token, hire people to promote it and pay them in that token, so you had all totally free marketing and the people promoting it (if successful) were the ones giving it any value so "developers" could dump it on unexpected investors who believed in the project. Crazy times and pretty educating on how the value is created etc.

19  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK 18th MAY 2024 re-scheduled on: May 19, 2024, 03:44:16 PM
I don't know if there's any official boxing rule saying that a boxer needs to drop to the ground (or kneel etc) before he can be considered knocked down and the counting can begin, but if it's up for the referee to decide, then I see no controversy re the round 9 situation.
Tyson was in trouble but he was conscious, so stopping the fight would be completely wrong, and I don't think Fury would necessarily be KO'd cold if the referee didn't step in. Anything could've happened, but, to me, it looked like Fury was about to drop on his knee before he noticed the ref got between himself and Usyk.
This doesn't matter though, as Usyk has still won, and during the post-fight interview, he wasn't bothered by the situation at all.
I haven't seen the full fight yet, only the extensive highlights, but think Usyk won fair and square. The rematch should be really exciting.

I was fearing that West Ham might put everything on defence and that it could take a while for the City to score the first goal, but happy to report that I was wrong.
Foden only needed 2 mins to give his team the lead and in 18th he scored the 2nd one.

Looks like there won't be any last-minute surprises at the top. Man City is clearly dominating with 83% possession and 9 shots on goal already.
