Enjoy reading the leaked text from Dana White and other UFC officials trashing their own fighters, calling them scumbags, f***heads, douche, cutting throats and making threats.

Not quite shocked by the language, everybody knows Dana White is a hot-head and is not holding back in throwing around offensive words. Still, I think revealing someone's private messages is not a very elegant thing to do. People talk differently and allow themselves to vent out when they think they're talking privately to a trusted person.
The UFC had a really nasty practice in terms of underpaying their fighters and including some weird clauses in contracts. Hopefully legal actions and the emergence of rival organisations will force them to improve.

The long-awaited Dmitry Bivol Vs Artur Beterbiev fight was announced two days ago and will happen on Saturday 1st June.
The place - you guessed it, Saudi Arabia. They'll be fighting for the undisputed light heavyweight championship. It doesn't get much better than this. Bivol is ranked 1st in the global ranking and Beterbiev is 2nd.
Both are undefeated, with 22 and 20 wins respectively. Beterbiew has an unbelievable 100% KO rate (Bivol 50%). It will be a massive challenge for Dmitrii, but my money will be on him.

I don't think Moicano will lose his spot at top 15 since Moicano is ranked higher than him..?

I'm assuming you mean Dober - Yeah, Moicano was ranked two places above him, so it's possible that the result won't have much impact on the ranking. That being said, I have no clue on how those ranking positions are determined, but there's got to be a way for the new guys to enter the top 15. So if there's anyone performing really well who's currently outside the top 15, he could end up taking Dober's spot.

As for the main event, it was lackluster.  I expected more from Dolidze.

Still haven't seen it as there doesn't seem to be anything on youtube. But some say Imanov was unfairly deducted a point as that head kick was legal. Dolidze was touching the ground with his fingers, but apparently the unified rules define being grounded as having a flat palm touching the floor. But it's not like this changes much anyway.

I would say one of the main reasons for Liverpool's loss in this match was Mohammad Salah's absence from the squad. Had Salah been with the squad, the match would have been more competitive.

Not to take anything away from Arsenal but Liverpool looked really weak yesterday. Their offence wasn't working, they only managed to get one shot on target throughout the whole game. Even their only goal was an Arsenal's own goal. The absence of Salah could play a big role here, but a team aspiring to win the league cannot be entirely reliant on one player.
We'll have to wait and see if this was just a one-time flop, or whether this is a sign of longer dip in form and season fatigue.
At least thing got a bit more interesting, we now have 3 teams fighting for the title.
Man City is playing away game against Brentford this evening and surely will take this opportunity to get closet to the top spot. The experts give them 71% chance of winning.

The new date for the Fury Vs Usyk fight has been announced. It's scheduled to happen on 18th May. So a little over 3 months from now, not as bad as many have expected.
But it's getting more interesting this time:

Quote
Meanwhile, fight organiser Turki Al-Sheikh revealed that both boxers will face a $10m penalty if they withdraw in May, and that Anthony Joshua has agreed to step in if such a scenario occurs.
However, Joshua will only be paired with Fury, according to Al-Sheikh, who said Usyk can choose his opponent if Fury withdraws again.

AJ is fighting Ngannou in March, if he defeats him easily, many would probably prefer to see Fury fighting AJ instead of Usyk. Maybe Ngannou should get an offer to be a replacement option for Fury if he pulls out again  Grin

Great job for Moicano but it was a close match and he is looking slow what controlled the fight was his takedown and control with those clinches, while Drew Dober is great with the stand-up he was not wise when it comes to the ground fight and Renato Moicano have gotten him with the ground and pound, 2 near submission attempts but for sure Dober just manage to get out from those, but because of those wrestling game Renato Moicano had the edge in this fight but his performance is not a title contender one so if he would fight for the Belt he will likely lose,

That was a truly great fight, both of them put on a good show and did not disappoint.
Drew looked better in the stand-up but he also has a solid wrestling background, so wasn't too afraid of them. Unluckily for him, Moicano turned out to be even better on the ground and snatched the victory by decision.
Both are unlucky to be fighting in the Lightweight, which is currently the best weight-class packed with stars. If not for that, they would be ranked much higher than they are right now. I hope Dober doesn't lose his 15th spot in the ranking.

!!! Breaking news !!!

Fury Vs Usyk won't happen due to Tyson's injury (big cut to the right eye).
He got caught by an accidental elbow during the sparring, he was wearing a head-guard, but that didn't help.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/boxing/68187055

Michael Bisping's commentary, including the footage of unfortunate sparring:

The fight will likely get postponed, although there are speculations of the replacement fight, possibly against Filip Hrgovic (17-0).
390  Bitcoin / Press / [2024-02-02] FT: The ‘cult’ of Bukele: El Salvador’s bitcoin-loving strongman... on: February 02, 2024, 10:59:03 PM
A mention of Bitcoin but in an unusual context. The article is about El Salvador’s president Nayib Bukele, who probably everyone here is familiar with.
He's facing re-election soon and is expected to win with a whopping 82% support. He brought the murder rate down by 90% so that itself has won him a huge support.

The ‘cult’ of Bukele: El Salvador’s bitcoin-loving strongman heads for second term

https://www.ft.com/content/9ec562bd-4aef-4867-9ff0-3bd3194dca3d

Quote
Bitcoin is legal tender; roughly one in 45 adults is in jail; and the former nightclub manager turned president stormed congress with the military less than a year after taking office.

The first term of El Salvador’s millennial president Nayib Bukele has been unusual by both Latin American and global standards. But Salvadorans are eager for more. On Sunday they look set to re-elect him with more than 80 per cent of the vote.

“He is someone special, sent by God,” said Marta Márquez, a 50-year-old food stand owner in Nuevo Cuscatlán near San Salvador, who still has a bullet in her leg from when members of the criminal gang MS-13 tried to kill her a decade ago.

Like many others, Márquez has been won over by the improvement in day-to-day security brought about by Bukele’s draconian crackdown on gangs, in which mass arrests have helped to dismantle groups that once made the country one of the world’s deadliest to live in.

Her grandchildren can now roam freely without fear, Márquez said. “He was the best thing that could have ever happened to Salvadoran families,” she added. “We can’t go back to the past.”

391  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 📢 ₿ Bitcoin will replace Dollar? Even celeb venture capitalists are saying this on: February 02, 2024, 10:29:15 PM
Blast from the past. I totally forgot about him. Thanks for digging up this interview OP.
Yup, he made a brave move of purchasing 30k bitcoins from FBI's auction back in 2014. I don't think he ever disclosed the exact amount he paid, but it was worth around $17-18 million at that time. If he held on to all of it (which I doubt), the stash would now be worth $1.3 billion - a pretty fortunate investment.

As for replacing the Dollar - it won't happen until some post-apocalyptic scenario, or at least until the current financial system collapses. But that's OK, Bitcoin doesn't have to replace fiat to be successful. I'd rather have it as an asset/currency of choice rather than something mandated by the government.
392  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: February 02, 2024, 10:11:44 PM
Just a hunch...  I mean who would fight Rakhmonov unless the fighter either wants to die or he just doesn't care anymore.

Guys like Stephen Thompson obviously  Grin, he knew his retirement day is fast approaching and, if that's true that he was still hoping for the title, that would be a fast track to the title fight.
Some other guys might as well. I don't think Gilbert Burns would refuse to fight Shavkat if the money was right. He has to defeat someone ranked higher than him to get a chance of fighting for the belt and losing to Rakhmonov won't bring him any shame.
Usman might as well. He seems to believe in getting back to the top, so he needs to prove he's the best by not shying away from the challenge.

Belal Vs Edwards and Rakhmonov Vs either Usman or Burns is what we're most likely to see.

Couple that with Covington's poor showing vs Edwards, I think he doesn't care much about fighting in the cage anymore.

You're writing him off too early. He had a poor performance, but it was against the champion. He's definitely not yet in "I don't give a f**k" stage of his career.
393  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are successful gamblers seen as addicts? on: February 02, 2024, 09:52:55 PM
As far as I know I used to think that people who are passionate about gambling are addicted gamblers but gamblers who know the reason for success in gambling are called professional gamblers. Professional gamblers do not fall into the addiction and make every effort to achieve success in gambling when they determine and proceed with lots of research. Reasonably they win and all their needs in life are met by gambling money.

This is especially true for card players, these guys are able to control themselves as well as possible. But those who constantly spin slots are very bad at controlling themselves. I have seen many poker players who won tournaments, after which they permanently ended their poker career and did something else, while they did it with ease.

If by card players you mean poker, that's a completely different thing than slots-type games. I don't necessarily agree that poker should be classed as gambling, it is (or at least should be) a skill game.
Slots, on the other hand, are purely based on luck and, therefore don't require much focus or skills and become a game of choice for those who are looking for a quick dopamine fix.
There are some games that could be classed somewhere in between, like a blackjack for example.

BTW, I don't think I've ever heard of a professional gambler who would only play a pure-luck type of games. In principle, that shouldn't be possible.

The Bitcoin halving will of course make the price of Bitcoin soar (...)
Nothing in this world is guaranteed, especially when it comes to speculative trading. I think too many people are taking the post-halving bull run for granted, forgetting that each halving ha much lesser effect on the supply and that there are plenty of other factors at play.

It seems that betting has reopened for this month, I just saw it, so far there are still many who are making predictions at a price of $42,501 - $45,000 because of the uncertainty of the current price of bitcoin, it is not possible to get an increase unless when the halving starts to happen, there may be changes that occur, the price of bitcoin goes up drastically even surpassing $50k in a slow process until next year, I think everyone will also think the same by betting on predictions at the end of time betting will be easier to predict and analyze.

The odds for Bitcoin price betting are all over the place, which could be quite good. i.e. you could win almost twice as much by betting on $55,001 - $60,000 (x202) than on  $60,001 - $65,000 (x118). Of course, the final odds are not guaranteed.

And just a suggestion, I think most would prefer if the betting options were sorted by the order of price ranges rather than by outcome odds. But that's not a major thing.
395  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who says you can't be a millionaire in sports betting? on: February 02, 2024, 09:23:30 PM
I don't think anyone can become a millionaire from gambling. What you are showing is a 1/1000 or even 10,000 chance because he bet on many selections and won them all. I don't know if it's really called a "parlay". So you can't use that person as your reference that someone can get rich from gambling because that is very rare. Everyone has done a "parlay" and it has very high risks so you will also be paid very high if you win.

If you give that person as an example I can also give an example of how many people lose and ruin their lives because they think they can earn income from gambling.

I think the term "millionaire" is being massively overused in this thread and is misleading. The guy in the OP's bet had an amazing and highly improbable win, but he only got an equivalent of $18k out of it, so far from a life-changing or retiring-early amount.
That being said, you seem to be confusing possibility with probability. Is it possible to become a millionaire from gambling? - Yes. Is it probable? - highly not.
In terms of probability and bet value - it's still a wiser choice to attempt to reach millions by sports betting than by playing lotto-type games. But it's even better to develop marketable skills and try to earn it the old-fashioned way.
396  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: February 02, 2024, 09:00:00 PM
This season will be an interesting clash for these two teams. I'm not so sure that Liverpool will continue to feel comfortable in their current position and Manchester City will also continue to press. I see that these two teams will also be disturbed by schedules in other competitions and maybe the concentration of these two teams will be divided, so that's when they will potentially lose points.

It's a great thing that Man City is not very far behind Liverpool. They need to make up 5 points but have one less game played, assuming they'll win it, that brings it down to only 2 points.
They will be playing against each other in 5 weeks from now, on 9th March. If both teams remain consistent until then, the game should be an absolute thriller and could be a deciding factor in who will win the league.
Liverpool should be a slight favourite as they'll have a home-ground advantage, currently slightly better defence and their previous game in Manchester was a 1-1 draw. Then again, in April City gave Liverpool a solid beating winning 4-1, so everything is possible.
397  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Premier League 2023/2024 Discussion Thread ⚽ on: February 01, 2024, 11:44:21 PM
Chelsea looked quite weak in yesterday match and they even seemed to have great difficulty in threatening Liverpool goal.

Yeah, it was pretty bad. And it could've been even worse if not for the missed penalty.
Chelsea got absolutely dominated, only managed to make a total of 4 shots (3 on target) in the entire game Vs Liverpool's 28 (13 on target). It doesn't get much worse than that.
It almost seemed like Liverpool was playing a team from a much lower division. Now they're too far behind to even dream about finishing in the top 5.
398  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 01, 2024, 11:31:12 PM
Not only that, it will be one of the most interesting games. but that will also be very historical. as you said fury appeared to be mentally dominating. but Usyk has more belts. so it is really hard to predict anything about this game.
I am gonna try my best to watch this match live. but I am definitely going to watch the highlights if I miss that by chance.

Yup, I normally don't have much time to watch a whole fight live, but might take an exception for this one. The unification of all major belts doesn't happen very often. On top of that, both are undefeated and one of them will lose that status.

I am also quite confident that Canelo is trying to avoid Benavidez. So I am not not very certain but I am pretty sure that the next opponent for him has to be Munguia. Because he is generating some noise right now. Do you guys think that there is someone else much more suitable to face him? I personally don't think so. But of course that is just my opinion.

What about a rematch with Bivol? Canelo said a few times that he would want that to happen, but whether that's true or not is a different story.
399  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: February 01, 2024, 10:50:52 PM
I can see what the UFC is trying to do here but after what we saw of Covington in his last fight, I'd rather see a match between two prospects.  Rakhmonov vs Chimaev imho.  I think Rakhmonov will expose Chim and give him a good beating.

That would be an awesome fight, but it would be a stupid move to set two rising stars against each other on an early stage. From the UFC perspective, it's way better to let them climb to the top by beating up big names past their primes, let them get all the fame they deserve and then set them up against each other and generate huge revenue.
But yeah, my money would go on Rakhmonov.

But pretty sure Rakhmonov will be eager to fight a vet in Covington.  And if Covington agrees with the match up and signs the dotted line, then win or lose I think he'll retire after the fight.
Why would he retire if he was to somehow win with Shavkat? I think Colby will be looking to fight for as long as he can. He's too invested in creating his persona and won't give it up easily.
He was calling out Stephen Thompson after his loss to Leon, which shows he's looking for easier opponents to stay relevant for longer.
400  Local / Polski / Re: Solo Mining - kopanie Bitcoin we własnych czterech ścianach on: February 01, 2024, 10:34:26 PM
teraz mamy już 6 BTC-blok, który został znaleźiony przez solo minera
wspomniany blok 818588 został znaleziony z mocą 2ph. średnio coś takiego zdarza się tylko raz na 5 lat przy takiej prędkości... Cool

To pięknie. Gratulacje.
