1  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [WTB] 100BTC a day up to 4000 BTC in SG F2F on: October 12, 2018, 04:42:44 PM
Needless to say (hopefully), but in case anyone is even remotely considering entertaining this: DO NOT ACCEPT ANY TRADES WITHOUT USING AN ESCROW.

Click here for a list of escrows on the forums: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=276897.0

Additionally, OP, can you provide proof of funds? Have you had any successful transfers? If so, you should provide a signed message from an address that has transacted any large volume of Bitcoin.

Can you provide references from people or businesses that you've worked with in the past? Being a Newbie here, I hope no one falls victim to this, but in the event that you are actually legitimate, you're going to want all your documentation current and available upon request.

Otherwise, fuck off. Cheesy
2  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: October 12, 2018, 04:31:26 PM
It kinda makes me want to Merit him, just to add to the disappointment when he gets banned Cheesy

If I had a ton of sMerit to give away, I would absolutely do this. I also thought of this as I was scrolling through his/her comments. Maybe I should waste a sMerit on him/her anyways? Cheesy
3  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Avoid auto-buy links, mainly locked or self moderated. Register before dealing on: October 12, 2018, 04:29:43 PM
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5049114.0    It's amazing how this forum actually supports and sustains scammers and scamming.

This has been brought up on numerous occasions, but it's not that the forum supports scammers; it's just that there isn't a viable solution to nip their actions in the bud without becoming a censored dictatorship.

At the end of the day, the users who actually fall for these "too good to be true" deals are the ones who haven't done enough due diligence or research before purchasing the products, and they're ultimately the ones at fault.

I've said it here before, and I will say it again: I support the idea of not allowing sales threads to be self moderated or locked, and really wish a new standard will be implemented. Perhaps only allowing self moderated and locked threads by Jr. Member ranks and above, as long as they do not have any negative feedback from DT1/2 members.

It sucks that this continues to be a problem, but I really don't see the admins taking any actions against this. Just keep doing what you're doing @sandy-is-fine; you're fighting the good fight!
4  Other / Meta / Re: what's wrong with my account on: October 12, 2018, 05:48:56 AM
A quick review of the post history of your banned account shows that the majority of your posts are in megathreads that are designed to simply raise post counts. Your posts are considered spammy, and if you weren't banned for plagiarism, then you were most likely banned for being a shitposter that only posts in the Altcoin/Bitcoin Discussion boards without contributing any substance to the forums.
5  Other / Meta / Re: Inaccurate Merit Reflection on: October 12, 2018, 05:10:30 AM
Merits are meant to be given to users in exchange for what the provider finds valuable to them. There's no specific criteria for sending merit; it's at the discretion of the provider. In your example of the user getting merited for saying "this is a ridiculous thread", given the context of the thread, that may not have been considered a shitpost if, in fact, the thread was found to be ridiculous.

Please also keep in mind that a "default" amount of merits were distributed to existing members when the merit system was implemented. In other words, existing forum members did not have to start from "0" when the system was implemented. This could explain the "very positive proportion" that you mentioned.

At the end of the day, it will become harder and harder to abuse the merit system. While you may see a high amount of shitposts and posts that are undeserving of merit, I can say that from my personal observations, the amount of shitposts have dropped drastically in the boards that I frequent. Obviously, the merit system is somewhat working.
6  Economy / Services / Re: Ethical Hacker/Private Investigator on: October 12, 2018, 04:53:16 AM
I've got a contractor that I hired for some quick article turnarounds who ended up "ghosting" me. I paid a couple hundred bucks in advance, and it became obvious that (s)he scammed me. I have the person's email address and a P.O. Box (US) where I mailed some physical source materials. Is this something you could easily find out the info for? I'm only out a couple hundred bucks, so I'm curious to see what kind of rates you'd charge, if this is something you'd do at all.

This happened back in June, so I'm not even sure if the P.O. Box is actively in their name anymore. Is this something that might interest you?

Let me know.
7  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Questions about market cap vs. market depth on: October 12, 2018, 04:45:55 AM
i dug around the site a bit. they seem to hide the sources for their data. Roll Eyes

it's obvious they are cherry-picking data, omitting many dozens of exchanges and markets. the idea that ETH has a deeper market than BTC is completely laughable. and they're saying that XRP has 91% of the market depth of BTC? over the top ridiculous. Cheesy

also, basing this type of assessment on order books alone is neglecting to account for all OTC and p2p trading.

They seem to be displaying the rank of the coins based on the buy pressure. If you click on an individual coin, you can see the sources of data from the exchanges that they're on from the chart at the bottom of the page. The site seems to be polling data from the exchanges, as the exchange prices are reflected on the coin's page.

I gather, from your responses, that when you all are trading, that you look at the market cap data vs. market depth data? Is this an accurate assessment? I'm not a trader, so I'm just trying to figure out what is the most important factor when considering a high-volume trade.
8  Economy / Trading Discussion / Questions about market cap vs. market depth on: October 05, 2018, 12:38:34 AM
So one of my company's products shows data based on market depth as opposed to market cap. I figured that this board is the perfect one to ask this question...

I'm used to always seeing Bitcoin at the top of charts based on its market cap, but this site shows Ethereum ranked at the top based on its Buy Pressure. Honestly, I'm embarrassed to ask my colleagues (I'm not in the same product department as the one this site is in), but can someone ELI5 (explain like I'm 5) in layman's terms why market depth is more important than market cap when it comes to trading?

Thanks in advance! I'm looking to get more knowledge in trading crypto, so you'll start to see a lot more of me on this board. Cheers!

(Let me know if I should move this to Beginners & Help)
9  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [H] 70 € PayPal [W] BTC on: October 05, 2018, 12:25:21 AM
0 trust, 1 post, and newly registered account...

A word of caution for anyone considering this trade: PayPal transactions (even "Friends or Family" payments) can be reversed for up to 180 days.

Sorry to rain on your parade, OP, but I can only see this going one of two ways. Either you get scammed by someone that's going to make you go first, and then you don't receive your Bitcoin, or you do get your Bitcoin and then file a dispute with PayPal and get your fiat back.

The solution? Try to establish some more social proof and trust before asking for a currency exchange. Or find an alternative, like LocalBitcoins.com, where you can verify your identity (this doesn't protect you from scams, but at least it shows you're willing to verify your identity...).

Fair warning: If anyone takes this deal from a Brand New account, you might as well be giving your bitcoin away.
10  Other / Meta / Re: Blazed remove this scammer from DT2 on: October 05, 2018, 12:20:11 AM
His rating should be invalid since he is a scammer. Would you trust a confirmed scammer more than a suspected one? He used his status to gain money.

I just want to chime in and say that this logic is stupid, ESPECIALLY since that @Blazed is not a "confirmed" scammer, as there is no evidence or references left in those negs.

But based on your logic, are you stating that anyone with an unreferenced negative feedback in their trust history shouldn't be trusted? I don't give a rat's ass who left the feedback. If there's no reference or evidence of a scam, then I'm sorry, but "Scammed XXXX" means shit to me.

Based on this situation, and your post history, it's obvious that you're just salty because your main account has a neg on it that was left by either (1) @Blazed or (2) someone in Blazed's DT list.
11  Other / Meta / Re: @Theymos - can I have your input please? on: October 05, 2018, 12:12:00 AM
I give the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps I am asking it from the wrong person. May be, I should ask theymos. hilariousandco is just one of the many staffs only.

Global moderator is hardly "just one of the many staff" lol.

I'm sure you'll get a response from @hilarious or @theymos if your request/feedback gets more consensus from other users. But given that I'm posting here after reading the top post, it's not clear to me what kind of input you're asking for. Are you looking for approval for something that you did? Are you proposing a new type of format of an ICO post? Are you asking for a rule to be revised?

Maybe you should make it more clear as to what you're requesting; that way, it will become easier to get a response to this subject matter.
12  Economy / Digital goods / Re: 🔶 Private Method to Create a Unlimited Netflix UHD Accounts 🔶 on: October 05, 2018, 12:05:48 AM
This is my own private bin method, I am not reselling this method. I can offer you a free vouch just to get verified from  a trusted member on Bitcointalk.

If you're willing to take the risk of me being honest about the validity of your method, then go ahead and send me the information.

I won't disclose the method that you send me, and I will be fair in my assessment of it. I also won't share or resell this information with anyone else, but I will indicate whether it's a black-hat, grey-hat, or white-hat method, all while not disclosing the method itself.

Feel free to inbox me.

ok,so whats the verdict?

I don't use discord. @KeySender, I have a telegram account. Can you hit me up there? My username is @BTCforJoe. Or, if you provide me with your username, I can still provide my review, given that this method is still valid.

If you don't use Telegram, I also use Skype and WhatsApp. Worse come to worst, I'll download Discord and contact you there.

Please advise.
13  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Lauda, MinerJones, Blazed | Missing escrow funds on: October 05, 2018, 12:00:46 AM
http://prntscr.com/kyi5dn

Lauda has recently changed his e-mail address.

He also responded to my PM on English, although he spoke Croatian before?

http://prntscr.com/kyi6lr

Just returned to the forums after a 2-week hiatus. Are there any threads where Lauda explains the purpose of these recent changes to their forum account? Link please.

And after reviewing the past couple of pages that I needed to catch up on, I just want to state some unbiased input:

As defined by Merriam Webster dictionary, escrow means a deed, a bond, money, or a piece of property held in trust by a third party to be turned over to the grantee only upon fulfillment of a condition.

Based on the terms that were (irresponsibly) set and dictated by the board of NVO, it seems as if the services of the escrows involved were completed according to the terms that were established by the parties involved. The accusations brought forth in this thread are that the escrows were acting in their best interest to imply theft of a portion of the escrowed funds. However, to me (and I hope that it doesn't appear I'm taking sides), it appears that no terms of the original agreement were broken by the escrow(s).

Does that mean that they didn't profit from their holdings? No; I'm sure that they probably did. Is this morally wrong? That's for you to decide, but to me, a responsible escrow is one that fulfills the terms as brought forth upon them at the time the escrow is opened.

In this particular instance, I find most of the fault for this whole ordeal to be due to the shitty unthought terms that were established by NVO.

Anyways, my main reason for this post was to see if there is anyone that can point me to the reason for the changes in Lauda's account lol. Just thought I'd add some input, too.

Carry on.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Common Q&A about bitcoin: non-technical edition. How much do YOU know? on: September 20, 2018, 09:51:28 PM
When bitcoin was introduced in 2009 there were lots of questions coming in the minds of millions of people that what are these crypto currencies and how do they work, what is the technology behind it and how beneficial is in investing into these crypto currencies then with time people has understood the fate and potential of bitcoin and now still it is still in lots of controversy but I am sure for one thing very well that in future, bitcoin is going to get legalised all over the world.

You can't definitively say shit like this without sounding like you're shilling the coin for the sole purpose of shilling the coin. Bitcoin is already illegal in many countries, with more undoubtedly following suit. Vietnam, Bolivia, and Ecuador are amongst the countries that have already banned Bitcoin, and Russia will more-than-likely pass a bill to make it illegal, as well. You have to understand that governments hate Bitcoin because there is no way to legislate it, which means there are no security and safety measures that they can take to protect its people from it. Please refrain from spewing shit like "bitcoin is going to get legalised all over the world" because it's simply not true.
15  Economy / Digital goods / Re: SELL Virtual Credit Cards (AWS,AMAZON PRIME, PAYPAL...) on: September 20, 2018, 09:42:12 PM
Are you able to provide a VCC that I can use on a monthly basis? For example, to use for a Netflix or Spotify subscription. I'm not looking for a NEW VCC every month, just one that I can continue to reload every month. Is this a service that you'd be willing to offer? I've tried with two previous VCC vendors before, and they've both ghosted me after the first month. I'd imagine it's because they need to reserve their VCC slots for new sales/customers.

Please let me know if this is possible; thanks!
16  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [ICO]🔥NewChain Platform - Fake Team on: September 14, 2018, 08:09:06 PM
I know that @NewChainPlatform knows about this scam accusation thread, as I have both private messaged them and posted in their announcement thread.

My post in their announcement thread was deleted immediately. Roll Eyes

Shady, shady, shady.
17  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: 🔥 All ADOBE ▚ CREATIVE ▞ CLOUD APPS ❤️ With Your Own Account ▶ 8$ per Month ✅ on: September 14, 2018, 08:04:47 PM
Review coming shortly.

I have just reached out to Naster on Telegram and paid (via PayPal) for a 3-month subscription. He will provide me with an account within a few hours, and at that time, I will amend this post with my vouch, if the subscription works as advertised for all products within the creative cloud suites.

Naster was very communicative and informative, and answered all the questions I had in a professional manner. Stay tuned for a vouch!

Just received my invitation within a matter of minutes, not hours! First of all, the invitation message and signup pages were in German, which wasn't a big deal... Just fill in the [obvious] fields and hit the blue buttons, and once accepted and registered, your Adobe control panel displays in your the language of your preference (according to your own Adobe account).

I used a freshly-created email account to register with Adobe, and after accepting @Naster's invitation, my account displayed a team subscription!

I just opened every app (that I have installed on my computer) in the creative suite, and all opened without any issues.

There's nothing else to say about the account except that it works as it's supposed to! I am currently updating all of the apps through the Adobe Creative Cloud app without any issues.

My general experience with these accounts in the past is that they last a month or so before they're disabled. I purchased a 3-month subscription from OP, so I will update here regularly with the status of this account. Cheers, and I'll report back later!
18  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hello! (introduction) on: September 12, 2018, 12:35:25 AM
This site is still in beta, but it's a venture that my new company is working on, and as a new trader, I'd love your input on it: https://vcdepth.io

Welcome to the forums; since you're new, and there's a whole slew of users here who are NOT into trading, it might benefit you to start logging milestones for some of your trades, as well as some of the best information that you come across here on the forums. Then post a guide later down the road on how you used BitcoinTalk to become a (hopefully) successful trader.

That would for sure earn you some fake internet points, just sayin.

Take a look at the rules, of course, and browse around. There's a lot of cool members here who'll answer your questions, so don't be afraid to ask!
19  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [ICO]🔥NewChain Platform - Fake Team on: September 12, 2018, 12:20:16 AM
I don't understand why people tend to use fake profile pictures for their teams. This is the shadiest type of behavior that one can provide for a new company because right off the bat, they're lying about who they are. If they're lying about their identities, how can anyone put trust that anything else they say is valid?

Death to these bad actors. This tells me that they're out to represent a solid team, when in fact, they're trying to deceive the public. This, in turn, tells me that they're trying to make a quick buck, and shows a lack of integrity.

I can't trust companies that use fake team photos and bios. They always come back with something stupid like "We just used stock photos to fill in the team for now", but honestly, there's no coming back from this type of deception; at least not in my eyes.

Thanks for archiving this, @Slow death. Just another bullshit ICO to avoid.

Edit: What gets me is the manner in which they're abusing LinkedIn, as well. They endorse each other, but it's hard to find a proper trail of endorsers for any of them from people outside of the NewChain team Roll Eyes

The only endorser outside of this network is this dude: Bernard Sleijster. Could he possibly be behind this deceptive venture?

Additionally, a quick search for Thomas Williams on the University of Cambridge Judge Business School yields no results, even though he claims to have received an MBA in Business Administration and Management Roll Eyes
20  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do you manage to get more followers on Twitter? on: September 12, 2018, 12:14:43 AM
We all know Bounty stakes depends on your total Twitter Followers. It's not easy to get huge more followers and I may ask for your advice what are you doing to get more? Do you have some special strategies?

I built up an organic following by being the first to break crypto-related news amongst my followers. I have news alerts set up to give me notifications whenever a story breaks, and I immediately grab the link and post it to my twitter account and use the proper hashtags.

On average, if you can get a few followers per article you share by using proper hashtags, so imagine the type of follower numbers you'll have after doing this repeatedly for a set duration of time.

Also, try to get into some twitter discussions or re-tweet popular twitter personalities and add your own commentary. This could provide some follows from people who align with your thought process who agree with what you say.

The key is to get "real" followers, which can be done organically. If you're persistent, you can easily gain thousands of followers within a year if you keep at it, and without having to pay for a single one.
