101  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy Bitcoin, and HODL! on: June 07, 2024, 11:57:20 AM
Powerful price action at the present despite the quite small steps it seems to be moving upwards like a vice with pressure to crack the ceiling, be optimistic while we maintain in this area.

Staying above 71500 is a good build and I want to see it exceed the Tuesday high which is very nearby at 71792.    Then if we continue to build positively it can finally exceed the late May high of 72041 (great big green candle) and go onto new action.

All of this would be welcome rather then repeating the prior range of prices.    73895 way back in March is the eventual hope for a new ATH but its amazing how long it takes to process all the sellers along the way to get back to these prior highs.   Price is back above the 2 day average, stay optimistic while we remain with that momentum.
102  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it still possible to retire early? on: June 06, 2024, 11:50:36 PM
Theres a whole community dedicated to this task as a necessity because of modern living denying people proper wages demanding too many hours and not letting them start families etc.    The main requirement to achieve such a task is to have a good paying job but live like a pauper and deny any spending beyond basic food, cook your own for example and live as if you have no money always.   Repay all debts and save into a house, even better learn to build your own etc.

That kind of humble attitude will get you to a possible early retirement if lucky but also I think of the cases I read people do continue to do light work after their early retirement from a main job.  They consult or do some light contracting work that allows them to use up their tax code as best possible, stay liquid and secure long term.
103  Economy / Speculation / Re: After the dip in crypto, when are we expecting ath? on: June 06, 2024, 11:40:11 PM
New ATH is expected now, its on the menu its been ordered and its being bought to the table.  Whether we actually get a chance to partake in such a event would be cruel to speculate on because many are expecting it at this point without too much more delay.  I do think the markets are slightly cruel and we may have to wait a bit longer but new ATH is definitely in sight and a reasonable expectation at this point.

Right this second we have slipped below the 2 day average so some slight weakness near term and we remain above the weekly average which I take more seriously.  Position wise we are above the old ATH so thats quite a good hold so far. 2024 has been very positive more then I thought so at the beginning.
104  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is getting addicted to gambling right or wrong? on: June 06, 2024, 11:30:00 PM
Some people would say its immoral to gamble excessively or waste money pointlessly but thats a personal choice.   To gamble money which isnt yours, get into debt and not repay that cash is potentially criminal.  More then right or wrong I would just say its a waste of time and money to play without any control on your actions.   People will describe addiction not as doing something you like exactly but are feeling compelled to do which does mean you should seem counseling or help of some kind to reduce the behavior if you arent even enjoying your game.
105  Economy / Economics / Re: Things to avoid when you earn a lot or become rich on: June 05, 2024, 11:28:17 PM
MJ bought a great music catalogue for example including the Beatles tunes with good royalty revenues but his big problem was overspending and it almost literally killed him trying to service that debt with his own labor while being too ill to perform at the level of his peak years.    Overspending is the easiest way to lose it all including your health, spend to your own level and it will be a far happier experience then trying to own everything; you cannot possibly enjoy all the expensive products all at once anyway.
106  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 Push-Ups A Day Until Bitcoin Is $100K Challenge on: June 05, 2024, 09:30:06 PM
Congrats Cool

Quote
It is possible for a human body to carry out 1000 push-up a day, if you have been practicing and has always been consistent doing push-up

1000 is possible for maybe everyone if we are talking a regime kept over years.  The only reason not to is it will be more boring then a varied set of exercises.  I also think using multiple exercises will be harder and get a person fitter and more able.

I used to do 200 pushups and keep in mind Iam fairly skinny (even more back then) its way easier to lift my own weight so when thats true Im not bragging at all.  I stopped because it wasnt doing enough for me.  It certainly helps alot but in the end you will conqueror the resistance you get from a push up before you get to 1000.

It was years ago but I dont remember 200 being the struggle it sounds like it could be, the first few starting and the build up is much harder then later adding onto the larger figures.  Saying that I still need to reattain that form Tongue

The best exercise I used to do was cycling uphills sometimes carrying a load.   That was my personal favorite, I dont like running or jogging so much but depends where you live also.   I think swimming might be the best overall for using all of the body without knowing every exercise well with more expertise.

Im not worried about 100k this year, so it is a long term objective imo.  However BTC does tend to spike when it moves so never say never, its about to try a move now but Im a pessimist till autumn.
107  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for June on: June 05, 2024, 06:12:09 PM
We are just exceeding the May 20th high which is expected action by a few.   The reasoning for a bullish move being justified now is the downtrend since May 20th, a series of lower highs since then have been broken.

Its not a great deal of time, just a week and some but it could be enough at the top of the range to have break free of the resistance in this area.   Some momentum is required to break the gravity and have us much higher.

The alternative is repeat but we can hope we already wore out the record and are ready to do something new.   Watch how we react to 71500 and it acts as the high for today and later or ideally we have 71.5k as the low & new support.

Last Fridays low is apparently the area that would now break this spell and any magic that could happen, a few thousand leeway isnt much in BTC terms.
108  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will the bears take advantage? This bull run lasts so long on: June 05, 2024, 12:00:00 PM
Bearish trend has to stem from sellers, didnt we already deal with alot of selling since March high.   If they bought coins recently it was at prices in this area so what is left to sell for a recent speculator.

The sellers besides speculators would be just be things like Mt.Gox payments or government selling off seized coins.  However I do think there is enough buying to soak up most of a bearish trend, the bias is probably upwards at this moment.  At worst we are just to repeat prior months, mostly sideways.
109  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Inflation Necessary on: June 04, 2024, 11:49:25 PM
Gold has natural deflation because the supply of gold is less then the world population growth.  Thats despite the great advances in mining power and technology made in the last century, even after that population growth of the world is greater then the supply of gold.   We cannot change the content of the earths crust for gold, its mostly a constant and well distributed across the globe.  Platinum and other metals are not quite the same as that.

FIAT money has no proper controls on it, its mostly politics that decides just how quickly its destroyed and it never lasts is the lesson from history.  Inflation equates to liquidity for some, gold has been used as money and the economy did well during that time so its not absolutely necessary.   Some will argue inflation delays the possibility of recessions but we are trying to balance giant amounts of debt and this is likely the real reason.
110  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is $84k the Peak for Bitcoin? on: June 04, 2024, 11:29:31 PM
Very positive end to the week and for the weekly bar, so we might be seeing some positive action build from this close above resistance.   What happens next is important to build on these gains, just getting here can be a margin of error that is corrected in the next days or week until we end up negative and in decline.

If we were to continue this rough trajectory in future I'd estimate October for a 84k price.  What I imagine actually happening is far greater gains after we lose the ATH area and push past it, many more speculators and other buyers may join in at that time.   The rate of gains tends not to be a constant, we gain alot then lapse in that trend and possibly even lose some pricing.

I've heard at least one commentator whose day traded for decades call out BTC as rising here so I'm very interested to view their reasoning for that call.
111  Economy / Economics / Re: Labor is really the birth of happiness? on: June 04, 2024, 10:54:30 PM
The counter argument to this premise is that labor is a commodity that is traded and the worth really lies with those who create jobs and work that pays for that labor.   The main difference is the direction and management of the labor towards a useful paying task, with a product in demand at a competitive price etc.    To simply say you are owed something by default as a person doing labor and its exploitative not to match all your costs, that does seem slightly naïve about life's struggles.

We live in a global economy now, that's good and bad and we like the cheap products that can be bought via mass production but we dislike the competition for jobs it might bring.    We cant ignore there any many people in poorer countries who would be happy to work for the wage we find not enough, there is no simple solution but I think skilled work is the most obvious one and something I was told growing up.
112  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never borrow money to be able to gamble on: June 04, 2024, 10:33:55 PM
Gambling and borrowing are both banned in some countries for good reason as being temptation that leads to terrible actions.  Neither has to be true but to combine both would seem to make it a certainty.

Its a bad principle to proceed with and an even worse reality to realize in at least half the attempts, better not to try incorrect actions hoping for good luck.  Stick to one simple idea, only gamble what you can already afford to lose.
113  Economy / Economics / Re: Labor is really the birth of happiness? on: June 03, 2024, 05:59:47 PM
Hard skilled work that should be amended to, a good trade will take you far.  I think the saying applies to trades like carpentry where its well worth learning and practising your whole life.   You can take pride from owning your own skills and means of making a living and its hard to out shine that example by any other job.

In the modern context that would relate to housing probably, a good trade can apply their skills to old housing stock and do well in that way.   Working in a factory for someone else's business is something else, there can be greater security in that but its not quite the same imo.
114  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Bitcoin Price is Down Today? on: June 03, 2024, 05:48:57 PM
Market is up today but the reason why BTC could be down in this area is we already had a series of gains right upto resistance.  Either we go big up from here or the bias will be downwards.

We have to pay attention here, speculators will buy into a price that can gain further but when that blue sky picture ahead disappears so does a certain amount of short interest and speculation.   Less buyers in that brief time period can lead to pricing selling off hence the resistance becomes a self confirming idea.

BTC has been repeating these moves for most of this year now, we only really held clear into March then it was rinse and repeat to throw off the weak holders and confirm the prior price gains as genuine to a wider market.
115  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I have made another revelation. on: June 03, 2024, 05:01:27 PM
Universal Music Group is what comes out for UMG when I search.  Its what I remember from youtube and getting multiple copyright warnings so its seared into my brain not the gambling company you might be referring to.

Surely one UMG will object to this other entity using the same identifier unless they are connected.

Im sure your UMG is famous in its own arena but there's always a bigger fish, general public are going to get confused what exactly you mean apart from any other complicating details.  Get some enhanced branding, its what people remember and how they form initial impressions of your operations.
116  Economy / Economics / Re: Hunger in a country known for agriculture. on: June 03, 2024, 04:27:59 PM
Those who see furthest are standing on the shoulders of others, the rich should realize why they are rich by the benefit of their nations generosity and look to secure the health of all if they wish to continue to stand tall in a rich country.

The problem I can first think of is division and the partial civil war I hear of in Nigeria is most troubling.  Not just violence but the failure to raise all people above the worst struggles in life, security is paramount to a thriving economy.   This failure to secure people literally and also monetary stability would be a big part of failure and poverty.

40% of Nigerians live below the poverty line of US$1.90 as handled by the World Bank

Reminds me of figures for India some time back that I read but they have improved while allegedly Nigeria has worsened.    Some of this will be related to the Dollar price for oil as Nigeria is a large OPEC producer but clearly the wealth is not being distributed properly to raise up all of society.
117  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for June on: June 03, 2024, 04:04:05 PM
There is a chance but Im going to be the pessimist and say I will continue to expect an autumn schedule to occur until Iam disproved.   I dont especially like guessing, the evidence so far says range bound or fenced in.

I will change my mind when we both confidently break those barriers and then confirm this area as support to build on not restrain us as a ceiling.   We look for trends on any graph because they can give some better estimate of what may occur even while anything at all can happen in the world.

We have resistance, we have support and we are stuck between for months now; its going to take volume to leap that fence and thats why I presume Autumn  we find a greater volume of trading across the whole range of markets.  Why its been this way for centuries I cant say exactly but Im just the little guy I go on what the record shows is most probable like the seasons themselves.

Nothing about the BTC chart is disappointing, the question is a new high and I expect consolidation as an ironic positive afaik.
118  Economy / Economics / Re: If a token keeps falling, how to save it on: June 03, 2024, 02:40:32 PM
First you find the altcoin section of the forum not Bitcoin, not knowing the difference will make things considerably harder to progress.   The beneficiary of any blockchain should be the people the users who bother to get involved not the creator, if we are in the Bitcoin section then take the history of the first blockchain to heart by following Satoshi's example.

Dont try to make the token about yourself, you will only really succeed if people believe the creation has a wider purpose but first you will face a thousand tests and doubts.
119  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 U.S. Presidential Election Bets! on: June 03, 2024, 01:00:39 PM
I dont think the trial makes a difference to Trump getting in at this point, no elaborate point is required as to the reason why either.  Its simply that the trial is not over until you exhaust all appeals, so you have the first verdict but not the final verdict and nothing is going to happen conclusively before the election.

I dont even guess that he will win but I wouldn't say its any less likely because of this trial.  I do think he had already lost as least some of the middle ground in the electoral college of voters which is what he needed for the overall win.
120  Economy / Economics / Re: Young people are less likely to accept traditional employments in this era! on: June 02, 2024, 11:59:35 PM
Seems fair reaction to some of the highest levels of taxation thats ever occurred.   Also technology is a powerful force to use if you can, people at first are most likely to recognize and use it in media but in the end I can see technology being of use to small business and start ups in multiple sectors of the economy.

3D printers and small design delivery seems like a future growth sector of the economy to alot of people.   I cannot glimse what other ways the world might change, its beyond imagination almost.  Before  Bitcoin arrived, a few people discussed the need for an internet standard across borders to transfer value but even when BTC arrived the majority disbelieved it would be this product.  So to I expect a similar apathy to change but it will occur anyway imo.
