101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the meme coin still worth holding on: November 13, 2021, 02:46:37 PM
Don't hold memecoins for too long, the reason why it's called a memecoin is because it does not last for a long period of time, y'all have to keep in mind that memes in general does not last for a century, doge memes never lasted for a century and memes in general only last for a week or so, unless the hype continues, but usually it dies within a month, so I'd suggest not investing in memecoins for a long time, I can't guarantee you a 100% profit after investing in memecoins, converting it into another coin would be the best option.
102  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: November 13, 2021, 01:39:38 PM
Was surprised to see the Warriors blow out the Bulls. I may have underestimated how good the Warriors will be this year. They’re the best team in the league right now without 2 of their starters…
No surprise though, I mean it was in GSW home court and then they have the momentum going into this game. They played good defense too and Lavine and DeRozan was limited in the third quarter.

Draymond Green had another good game, Gary Payton Jr, playing like his dad, pick-pocket (in a nice way). And then Igoudala, who still have that hop and can dunk. This is like the championship GSW that we've seen before, a bit scary.

I swear, the spirit that they're showing and that mamba mentality is scary, I remember Steph warning us last summer that they've prepared THIS MUCH and that they're gonna prove that they're gonna be the best team, I guess he's right, if they stay this consistent then this Warriors roster is looking like a chip-winning team.

This roster also proves us that a team doesn't really need stacked star players like the Lakers or Nets, go ahead and complain about their age but Steph, Draymond and Iggy are also the same, the difference here is the chemistry and playmaking, the ball isn't centered around Curry unlike the Nets wherein it is centered for KD and Harden, that's the biggest difference between two teams, it's still early to make wild assumptions but I can foresee that the Dubs are nothing like the Dubs last season.
103  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: November 13, 2021, 12:56:22 AM
Warriors are going to host the red-hot Chicago Bulls.

What do you think about this game, will the Bulls finally give the streaking GSW a real challenge and beat them on their home court?

No Vucevic for the Bulls but they have DeRozan and Lavine.
Good test for both teams but Warriors D will shut down those duo even if you include Ball who is also playing well.

I honestly like their defense, and I like the Warriors having a lot of options now.

Curry is great, he is the greatest shooter in the NBA for me but this season, we've also seen how Poole has improved and is able to put some big numbers for his team. Draymond Green will always be a defensive specialist, now that Bulls missed their center maybe that would give the Warriors an advantage inside or at least a fair match.

What I see here is the Warriors ability to shoot consistent 3 point shots that will make the Bulls suffer, but that is still depending on how they play their defense, if they can minimize the Warriors' shooters, then we will probably see a good game by the Bulls.

What we see on their last game might not happen with the bulls but honestly I like their current run this season and looks like they are so consistent on their wins but the problem right now is Bulls is also a well compose team so we cannot expect that they can easily beat them as there are so many shooters and well defender added on the line up of bulls. So what provably we can see here is a good match up to see.

Bulls vs Warriors is a good match not gonna lie, well defenders you say? Bulls are actually struggling in terms of defense as they are more of an offensive stance to me, Warriors on the other hand is well-balanced, GPII is a great defender and if you watch their games, they have pretty good defense since Stever Kerr is the mastermind behind it, Bulls on the other hand cannot be stopped offensively.

I swear that this game will be loaded with 3-pointers from both teams, Lonzo Ball is hot right now and so as Steph with his 50-pt performance last game. I'm going for Warriors on this one.
104  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What would you think of Meta (Facebook) allowing bets in the metaverse on: November 12, 2021, 04:48:51 PM
Metaverse is going to be a huge community, I don't think it'll hurt Metaverse if they'll implement a casino instended for gamblers, also, as part of moderation, I think Metaverse will set rules for casinos for users to avoid addiction and for kids not to be influenced at an early age, this is a good idea but I think this will be later on implemented afaik Metaverse is more focused on other aspects such as NFT, and other more.
105  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: November 12, 2021, 12:03:12 PM
^^ Probably Rudy Gorbet is frustrated that he was blocked Turner. Imagine the league leading defender and shot blocker being serve with his own medicine, and then they are on the losing end. He pulled the shorts of Turner and it's good that he didn't fall badly.

However, again, it's always the retaliation that is being caught by the referee, good thing is that no punches are being thrown. But for sure suspensions for the players involved.

Gobert is good but when it came to a competitive game, he doesn't have the heart to help the team win. Good for him that he tasted his own medicine so he will not think that he is the best big man in the league, and with that, he will work hard to improve especially in the playoffs where his numbers could really drop.

Gobert is a big piece in the Jazz roster, I doubt he'll get traded as Donovan Mitchell and Gobert had that good chemistry ever since, now, regarding to the Turner-Gobert scuffle, I really think that Gober was the one at fault there, their team is up by 10, a simple block from Turner triggered him and dragged his shorts down which I find weird, but I am used to Gobert at situations like this as he has this attitude ever since.
106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: advantages in the cryptocurrency industry on: November 09, 2021, 10:50:21 PM

Now meme tokens are very popular because they allow earning even more money than buying other coins and tokens.
A lot of people pays attention to meme coins because it is funny and profitable, like this https://twitter.com/defidotoken/status/1438810085636116482

Very often famous persons promote meme coins. That is why they raise in price so much more than other coins. And such big growth attract a lot of intention to meme coins.

Famous persons promote meme coins because they get a lot of money for promotion.
Now promotion of different coins is in demand and costs a lot of money.

I don't think Elon promotes though for the sake of money, he's a troll and always have been, so I don't think all famous persons are paid to promote but just promote themselves as they know that Bitcoin has become a big community, although it is true that some celebrities are paid to promote some coin alongside with big exchanges promoting altcoins that paid them to, but promotion alone is not enough for a coin to succeed of course.
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Gas Fee Of BNB Is Increasing on: November 09, 2021, 10:46:58 PM
All eyes are on the BNB due to the increase in Ethereum's gas fee. Thinking about the beginning, it can be understood that the BNB's gas free is increasing day by day. Although I don't know the exact reason behind it, the curiosity is there.

BNB is centralized but it has a big community and its ecosystem is growing exponentially. The real issue with eth as well as with BNB is that neither of them solves the scalability problem and as such the tendency will be for BNB to have an increase in the fees cost while its ecosystem and project demand is growing

Yes, and if BNB continues to grow, so does the gas fee, but gas fees have been an issue from different coins as well, and to compare these gas fees, BNB is much better than ETH's gas fee.
108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Binance Coin (BNB) reach $1K? on: November 09, 2021, 10:40:22 PM
Definitely, BNB will probably reach the 4-digit mark soon, and by soon I mean a couple of months, because of its success as a coin, its price will continue to go up, I suggest investing on BNB before it's too late, it's a worthy investment, trust me.
109  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New York's Mayor-Elect to Take His First Paychecks in Bitcoin on: November 09, 2021, 04:00:15 PM
Even if we say the salary of NY Mayor is big, I don't think it will have an impact on the price of bitcoin. So even if he sells everything, it won't give a dent on the market. With this initiative, his constituents will be curious about bitcoin and crypto in general. So they will think that if their Mayor is trusting btc, it means it is legit. Because let's admit the fact that a lot of noncrypto users are still thinking that crypto is a scam or fraud.

Yes if you talk to 1 or 2 politicians. Imagine how many politicians are in Now York today and all accept Bitcoin payments? speak on a large scale, not a narrow one. Obviously just 1 or 2 politicians won't have any impact but what about there are quite a lot of them and all accept Bitcoin?

I think there's quite an impact when a single politician tweets something about cryptocurrency, and as big as the mayor of New York, the impact is still visible, announcing it publicly is actually a good idea, both Bitcoin, the people and the mayor will benefit as Mayor will take in his first 3 paychecks as Bitcoin, he definitely know what's up and definitely aware that the price is currently going up.
110  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a chance for Bitcoin Recovery? on: November 09, 2021, 03:54:13 PM
That's just sad, but attacks like this are pretty much common now, the fact that there's a long process before you can actually 50/50 percentage recover your wallet and money, it's quite a long process but I'll definitely do the same if I was in OP's shoes.
111  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No one can continue ignoring Bitcoin on: November 09, 2021, 10:28:10 AM
The funny thing is, all of my mates who used to ignore and make fun of Bitcoin whenever I mention it back then, is now holding their own bitcoins, if they only believed in what I was saying, they could have easily gained profit from a 4-year investment.

No one will really ignore Bitcoin as Bitcoin continues to rise not only value-wise but through popularity as well.
112  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin ever get regulated on: November 09, 2021, 10:20:30 AM
The question is, why would you want it to be regulated? I understand that balance is the key but when the government tries to step in and take taxes, it really gets annoying, honestly, governments are trying to make a way on regulating cryptocurrencies through the use of taking taxes through transaction fees, I find it really concerning as I wonder if Bitcoin continues to rise, so does the transaction fees.
113  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Brazilian Congressman proposes Crypto Payment for workers on: November 08, 2021, 11:16:14 PM
In my opinion, this is perfect for Brazil and its citizens, Brazil isn't the brightest country we can think of when it comes to economy, and as a 3rd world country, I think this is actually a good idea, I'm pretty sure that their workers will choose Bitcoin as the currency of choice as it will be very profitable for them when the value goes higher. I sure do wish that there will also be implementations like this here in my country.
114  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin(Cryptocurrencies) is a social movement? on: November 08, 2021, 11:08:33 PM
Do you consider Bitcoin(or cryptocurrencies) in general a social movement? If you consider so, social movements need a formal organization to support the movement. Is there a formal organization behind Bitcoin?
Bitcoin and cryptocurrency can be considered a social movement, since cryptocurrency originated in society and the state and their governments had nothing to do with it. Thanks to the Internet, everyone has the opportunity to join this movement. Working with cryptocurrency, people get to know each other, unite in interest groups, and I don't see the need to create any additional organization to support the cryptocurrency.

Exactly, just like this forum or any other crypto forum out there, whether if it's Twitter or Telegram, we form a group of interested people and willing to invest, it is definitely considered as a social movement since Bitcoin was intended for P2P transactions in the first place, no organizations, no government that was involved in the first Bitcoin transaction, so we can all agree that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies can definitely be considered as a social movement.
115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top 5 NFT Games You Should Be Looking Forward To on: November 08, 2021, 03:47:55 PM
I've played both Axie Infinity and PVU, Axie Infinity continues to grow and I mean grow than the mentioned games by OP, apparently, PVU is also a good NFT game but it does get boring unlike Axie Infinity wherein you actually get to experience a PVP strategy-based game, it's like playing Pokémon which I am a big fan of, and these cute axies but literally annoying when you face them in-game, some developers from a big game company should actually try to develop an NFT game and try to oppose Axie Infinity, I bet there's a potential NFT game in the making out there, it just needs proper marketing.
116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Gaming on blockchain is the future on: November 08, 2021, 03:25:25 PM
i was searching for nft games prior to stumbling here... funny thing though... you can see NFT's traces years ago and nothing major recently in bitcointalk?
They do not even have a thread here.... is there any other resource to read about the up and coming games?
The reason there is no dedicated thread for all the different aspect is because it is basically a Bitcoin forum and everything else will come under alternative boards. If you want to see the differentiation of things, check out coinmarketcap and coingecko.

I tried to connect my wallet to some of the blockchain games but then the problem was the high fees and so is the reason i did not try them. When the network fees is sorted i might try the games.

This forum is really intended for Bitcoin so I don't think a thread dedicated to NFT is necessary.

Binance offers free transactions for some NFTs, such as SLP, I don't know for other NFT games though but I'm pretty sure that NFT games and generally, Blockchain games will be on the rise as gaming software companies are also joining in the hype because of Axie Infinity, I can tell that this could possibly be the future, but more and more devs will try to evolve as NFT games are currently on an early stage.
117  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: November 08, 2021, 11:51:30 AM
No rumors has been set towards trading Wiggins since they really need his help in terms of shooting since they don't have Klay in the rooster yet and maybe the Warriors will open this discussion if Klay will be back on their rooster. For sure Wiggins will get limited minutes that's why the GSW management will think about getting inside help since they already have more shooters in their current rooster.
The management does not have to make a decision right away, they have to check on the performance of Klay Thompson if he can still be close to his old self and produce good numbers with the team. Klay is coming from a serious injury, he won't get back his confidence right away, so in this situation, they still need Wiggins to contribute for the team like he usually does.

Andrew Wiggins' salary this season is $31,579,390, that's a huge contract, I'm sure it will match the other players that might make the system for the Warriors perfect, but in order to make that happen, we need to see some interest from the other teams too.

I do agree with that but looking at the practices and shoot arounds made recently by Klay it shows that he's still consistent shooter so for sure the GSW management will still trust him in terms on providing offense to their team.

Also for sure many teams will be interested to get Wiggins since he's still a valuable piece its just GSW have many shooter and they have to eliminate one of their player who got a huge salary so that they can give space to other rooster who can provide the same performance but they can also save millions in a contract.

His shooting consistency did not change, he is still good with his 3 point shooting but the real game is different, the opposite team will put a defender on him, it could be an aggressive defender or could double him, therefore he needs to still be quick enough to shoot the ball as that's really his special skills. Also, his defense is good but with the injury he suffered, I don't expect to see him still the same good defender as he was.

The Warriors are stacked right now to be honest, stacked with players full of potential, imagine a whole team shooting 3 pointers, kind of sad that they'll soon have to release some players, GPII is proving that he deserves more minutes, meanwhile Wiggins is still providing quality shots and good decision-making, he's really reliable inside and is getting better chemistry as the season progresses, last season he showed that he deserve the spot in the Warriors and be of help for Curry and the team, I doubt they'll be trading Wiggins. I really don't know who they'll trade as everyone actually deserves the spot in the roster, everyone's been red hot since the season started, kind of sad to see one of them getting traded, been a while since GSW was this solid.
118  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin adoption by banks - good or bad? on: November 07, 2021, 04:00:22 AM
There are advantages and disadvantages, and it may undermine the decentralization of Bitcoin. Will record our privacy in the bank. The original intention of Bitcoin is different. I hope that we will pay Bitcoin freely in the future, and there is no concern about privacy leakage.
I agree, and this where i think we have moved away from the original concept of using bitcoin an crypto in the first place, on the one hand bitcoin becomes widely accepted and approved by governments and banks, but on the other hand we lose the privacy and anonymity that came with it that it was built upon, decentralized crypto is the future and they know that and since they can't control the currency they can control how is using it, meaning that all your transactions will be know so there will be no difference between using it and the fiat, i personally won't use any crypto bank related stuff because i care about the privacy part of the crypto.

Well, to be honest, it's either we lose the specialty of Bitcoin which is being decentralized or we just let Bitcoin on the ground, I think banks and governments adopting Bitcoin is a good idea, though sacrifices will have to be made, of course we won't have that much anonymity anymore but privacy definitely comes in firs.
119  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best thing you bought with Bitcoin? on: November 07, 2021, 03:24:19 AM
I don't share that much info about me, but I guess it's a flex to actually share at least what I was able to bought out of the time and money I invested in Bitcoin, with the profit I gained I was actually able to support my family and because of Bitcoin, I don't have to actually ask for any money from my parents anymore considering my age, also, I was able to get myself a gaming PC which I always dreamt of when I was a kid, Bitcoin has brought me so much wonders, that I will always be proud of.

Not to hop in on the bandwagon but I can vouch for SOL, I've been visiting the market quite a lot for a while now and based on what I've observed, Solana is really growing fast, I also looked at their website and it's really clean, their projects does seem promising, I'm looking forward to invest soon as I gain profit from my short-term investments from other coins.
