101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ★★ EBT Coin - Entropybit 100% PoS - Multipool - Bugfix version 4.0.3! ★★ on: October 18, 2014, 04:02:50 PM
My ability to contribute is currently limited to mass coin distribution, through a php script I've written. It can be used to generate interest in the coin. I can possibly get a simple website up to take registration for EBT, and then send out coins in a fair distrubution relaunch. This means paying for server hosting, a domain, and also dedicating my time to the project, and my time, right now, is stretched.

Provided the coin can be fixed. The original dev should then hand over the rest of the premine funds so I can distribute them, once the platform is ready. If he's abandoned the coin, then I'm not going to work on it if he's going to sit on a big fat premine ready to cash out.

Fun fact: my give-away wallet is now 38mb, simply due to the amount of transactions it's sent.
103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PMP] PreminePlus Launch ~ New Features! ~ Oct Signup Free Distribution! on: October 18, 2014, 03:36:49 PM
What happened to distribution of coins for September registrations?

Still not received any coin in Oct.

Give-away will begin imminently. I've been snowed under at work.

Another scam, filled with the same-old shitty excuses. Not even worth reading the entire drama.
105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PMP] PreminePlus Launch ~ New Features! ~ Oct Signup Free Distribution! on: October 17, 2014, 12:02:06 PM
I installed the wallet for the first time today. I found it seemed to keep sticking on certain blocks while downloading the block chain. Closing the wallet, then restarting it each time it stuck fixed the problem.
Yeah, this is the issue I'm having. I'm stuck on 34646 and closing/reopening the wallet is having no effect. Coins still stake, but I'm stuck on the blockchain.
not sure if repairwallet helps in that case, otherwise downloading the entire blockchain from the beginning would be the option.
In order to speed up recovery we may upload, say every month, an image of the PMP blockchain and put the link in the OP.

I'm wondering if it has anything to do with POS. Not the first POS coin to have this issue. I believe some came up with hot fixes. Grain had a similar issue once, I believe Bosian produced a fix, if I recall correctly. I'll delete my blockchain and restart.

(I am using normally another account here on forums)

This is what i have received recently, have anyone of you also received such e-mail?

Hello there,

In regards to our ongoing court dispute we must first state as per our cancellation policy it has been over 5 months since you placed your order therefore you are no longer eligible for a refund. Please note we have been very clear and open with our terms of order, it was released as a news update, it is easily available on our website and you are urged to view it on the product page before you order. The DSR only applies to consumers and you are a business customer with us. I can assure you that our legal matters are dealt with by a leading law firm in the UK. Our terms of order are completely legal in the UK. It was typed up by solicitors who specialize in this area of law. They have advised us that all our customers will be legally classed as businesses for many reasons, one being that the hardware we are selling can only be used for mining cryptocurrencies which is a business practice according to UK law. So we assure you we have done our research on this; we wouldn't be having this discussion if we were breaking the law. Having said that we, and we're sure you feel the same way, would like to avoid having to go to court; this would avoid you having to travel to the UK, pay court fees and having to wait until December in hopes of a refund.
So to save both our time we would like to settle this now, we want to refund you %65 (leaving the vast majority of your funds with you and only %35 for us to pay for the expenses of your order) of your total payment as a gesture of goodwill. Please understand this has been no small undertaking and the vast majority of the funds have now gone into the production of these devices as was the point of this project which was clear from the start. We are under extreme financial pressure and to expect anything higher this late in the process is not realistic as the funds aren't there and to be perfectly blunt we may not be by December.

If you agree to this as a full and final settlement please advise. Your refund will be issued both via PayPal and bank transfer. For an international bank we will need an IBAN and/or an account number (please ensure it is not your local bank account number but the longer one used for international transfer), a swift code and/or your banks address, your account name and address. Please try to provide all or as much of this information as possible in case we run into any issues to save us from having to email again to ask for it. For a UK bank we will only need your account number, sort code, your account name and address.

Regards,

Alpha Technology

If you have any thoughts on strategy, please write me a PM.

Don't settle. Alpha are breaking the law, and you are legally entitled to a FULL refund, provided you paid with fiat.

sync may take some time only until all blocks are downloaded ....  Smiley

My issue is the stake message obscures the download progress bar, so I can't even tell if I'm downloading blocks. I'll leave my wallet running today.

I'm having some wallet syncing issues. Probably just because I haven't logged in to my wallet in some time. I'll leave it running all day tomorrow, and run the giveaway once it's in sync.

yogibaer, could you comment on when October stakes will be sent.

Afaik it's in Nullus' hands. TMX handed the funds and address list over to him in the beginning of October.

Sorry guys. Work has been mad busy. If I've got coins to send out. I'll get them sent tonight. I haven't even checked my emails for a few weeks. Just been completely snowed under.
Great to hear that you are back though!

I am, although my time is spread pretty thinly. I'll update my wallets and get around to sending out the giveaway coins shortly.

112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: URO Coin: A BIG LIE. Again. Part 2 on: October 16, 2014, 11:03:49 AM
So in a nutsell, Uro is bullshitting about these companies been signed up to their coin. They've had to remove the ones when companies have seen their company get mentioned, and the other ones have no idea about this coin.

Conclusion? scam.

Can someone explain what the turing system is?

Basically, a machine or system that is turing complete is capable of running any modern computer system. So you could in theory run windows on any turing complete system, albeit in some cases exceptionally slowly.

Turing complete basically means it's classified as a modern-day computational device. Like your phone, tablet, handheld gaming device, so on. It's capable of the same processes all computer processors can handle, such as the logical operations known as logic gates.

Foresight is a wonderful thing, it could have just as easily plummeted in value.

You played the game, and you lost. Better luck next time.
115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: October 10, 2014, 02:49:18 PM
Aren't they overdue for an update? They supposedly had a big milestone a day or 2 ago.

Also for folks who are successful with your PayPal refunds, please post your transaction/refund info (ID's/etc) for everyone else to cross-reference.

There's always a big milestone, followed by a setback. This has been happening from the start. Customers are just being strung along for as far as they can get away with.
116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: October 09, 2014, 03:45:05 PM

Funny thing is that people using paypal. cc or wire transfers are in a much better situation than people using BTC to pay for the promise of scrypt miners  Cheesy

Ironic, no?
117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scam coin charity fund idea on: October 09, 2014, 02:54:04 PM
Rewarding stupidity? Not to mention the difficulty in verifying the scammed. A dev could simply create a shill, pay himself a ton of BTC, and claim to be "scammed" by his own scam.

So no.
118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Services to launch a 100% Premined Cryptocurrency? on: October 08, 2014, 12:26:13 PM
I'm looking at developing a web-based game, and wish to use cryptocurrency as the in-game currency. I don't want it to be minable, however (although I suppose it would be minable through tx fees), and only obtainable through the game. At least initially.

What are some of the easiest ways of obtaining my own 100% premined currency? I'm not looking to "sell" this crypto, or even offer it on Bitcointalk. It's only going to be obtainable through the game itself as a payout.

The algo isn't a priority. Scrypt would be fine. Nothing fancy required. Just easy to launch, and easy to manage.

http://coinry.com/

From BTCARCHITECH , (archcoin developper) , with his website you can create YOUR OWN CURRENCY , and choose any name you like Smiley

I'm okay with a one-off payment to get the coin created, but a monthly charge? That's not cheap.
119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Getting a 100% Premined Cryptocurrency on: October 08, 2014, 12:22:34 PM
Well, they'll be able to sell them, trade them on exchanges, but I won't be promoting that. It'll be used as an in-game currency. If people want to list it on exchanges, buy/sell it, that's up to them, but the game will determine the value of the currency more than the markets will.

I'm not closing off the ability to withdraw the currency. That's part of the appeal. As it's an in-game currency it will be used to buy/sell "items" within the game. So you'll be able to deposit and withdraw freely.

If you make it tradeable then you will have little control over the price. As I can recall about a year or year and a half ago  someone who used Litecoin as ingame currency on his server was desperately looking for other solutions here, because of the instability of the LTC price crashed the whole ingame economy as LTC usage lead to inflated prices, disparities in production and some players were hoarding building plots and created an ingame property buble Smiley.

Well, I don't want control over the price. The game will always dictate what certain in-game items are worth. What people buy/sell the currency for outside of the game is entirely up to them.

Unless I make the in-game prices relative to an exchange value. Once it hits an exchange, make payouts/in-game purchase x BTC worth of my currency.  Instead of saying, 100 game coins, the price is 0.001 BTC worth of game coins. So the rate will be fluid and not at victim to market fluctuations.
120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Getting a 100% Premined Cryptocurrency on: October 08, 2014, 11:30:52 AM
Maybe ripple (I mean the ripple network but not XRP) could be an option for you. You don't need to mine you can try to make an in-game gateway or you can access an external gateway if the game has the some API for exchanging data with third party apps.

Thanks, but I want a decentralised cryptocurrency. Ripple isn't technically a cryptocurrency. Nor are NXT assets that I'm aware.

However, if this means I need 0 miners to maintain the network, then that could be a plus. Right now I'm just looking for any easy way to launch a scrypt altcoin.

If you want to make it decentralized with many nodes then you need to make it minable, to attract miners you need to provide some incentive, but something what they can't sell isn't an incentive so you will need an exchange then, and then...then ... welcome to the shitcoin business Smiley.
This is why NXT AE (or the AE on one of it's clones) or ripple could be a better "miner free" low maintenance way. As NXT AE is sitting on the top of a decentralized network maybe that one is your best choice.

Well, they'll be able to sell them, trade them on exchanges, but I won't be promoting that. It'll be used as an in-game currency. If people want to list it on exchanges, buy/sell it, that's up to them, but the game will determine the value of the currency more than the markets will.
