We are about to get dumped for AIR ( Aircoin )... for awhile....
Pretty damn innovative... but it's main innovation defeats decentralization completely...

Sounds like a lot of hopes and dreams to me. Or market manipulation. Best of luck to them.
702  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CASH] Crypto CASH a unique Crypto currency! **1.1 Client is mandatory** on: March 14, 2014, 11:10:30 PM
Probably the only good thing about the dire situation with altcoins at the moment is that some are so undervalued that you really are just better off investing in them. I have a couple of thousand cashcoins. For what they cost me, I might as well keep them. At least they'll earn interest.

Perhaps PoS coins will have the longest long term value, because even when miners stop mining them, the coin can continue on without them.
703  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PMC] Premine Coin | Rare | Mining Transaction Fee Proof of Concept on: March 14, 2014, 08:36:00 PM
Right now my mind is focused on alternative distribution methods of PMC.

Could I, for example, design a game or challenge, where the winner would get a randomly selected wallet private key? Or perhaps simply just release a new game every so often, and whoever cracks it will find the private key.

I could create some simple games in C++, where the winner who completes a series of puzzles will decipher a private key to a wallet with x amount of PMC in it. First one to decipher it is obviously the winner. Perhaps even include the wallet address within the game so people can increase the pot.

I also need to be able to protect the private key from someone just decompiling it somehow from the exe. How could I prevent that? ecrypt the private key within the source code, therefore obfuscating it? Any ideas? If done some basic database encryption in the past using MD5 and hash salting.

If anyone has any ideas, let me know. The games would just be text based, but there's no real limit to how complex they can be, except time. I'm quite capable of some advanced levels of programming, but I want them to be games that could be released regularly. Like little competitions.

It might generate some interest. Let me know if you have any ideas.

Yep, reminded me of this...  http://www.cryptoarticles.com/crypto-news/2014/2/12/the-current-state-of-cryptocurrency-hype-equals-value

Of the other blogs  ctenc001 mentioned, I visit CryptoArticles the most.  Clean format, no ads, very insightful writing.  I don't know them, but one of their writers is pretty active at ThisWeeksCoin and I can reach him if you like...

JDS1000/CryptoSandwich

I like his blog. I'd love to see a well written article on PMC there.

There's still dumb miners dumping on poloniex, lowering the price. I still don't get it. "Let's mine something and crash its price so there won't be any profit lol"

Don't worry about them... they will understand their stupid decisions at one point. I am expecting big things with EBT.

The price has been remarkably stable despite some idiotic dumpers not realising the value of what they had. They'll quickly price themselves out of being able to buy back in.

250 million coins. That's it.
706  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PMC] Premine Coin | Rare | Mining Transaction Fee Proof of Concept on: March 13, 2014, 04:41:29 PM
Not to be cynical but really all it takes is 1 whale to come in and change the game overnight and MAKE everyone stand up and notice.

If a big whale came in and pumped PMC, we'd be looking at some crazy prices. I don't like to bring this up, because like I said, PMC is not a currency that can be easily pumped and dumped due to its rarity.

I imagine if there are any whales waiting to pump PMC, it isn't going to happen until they've weeded out the dumpers, and right now I know of one who doesn't give a rats backside about PMC.

However, I think the big game changer is going to be when we're on a much larger exchange. All bets are off then. PMC sells would come down from Poloniex and it'd be a race to the top.

But I would rather put all that in the back of my mind. Focus on development and promotion. Let speculators speculate.
707  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PMC] Premine Coin | Rare | Mining Transaction Fee Proof of Concept on: March 13, 2014, 04:22:31 PM
What I really like about PMC is when you have some, you really do feel like a stakeholder, because we all realise that Premine is so incredibly undervalued.

Yes, it is so hard to give some PMC up Smiley That means it has value to me... However, I am right in thinking the remainder is worth more than if I just put my head in the sand and held on dearly....

Those who blindly dump will be the biggest losers. One of those losers has his PMC sell wall on Poloniex.

Our efforts will be rewarded. I notice now and again some big buys on Poloniex. I think some people are investing a lot of BTC and quietly waiting for the storm.

PMC - Rare, unique, and fantastic community and development.
710  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PMC] Premine Coin | Rare | Mining Transaction Fee Proof of Concept on: March 13, 2014, 02:24:27 PM
Things do seem to be stirring on Poloniex.

I wish all other alts weren't down. I would sell some of them otherwise.

EBT difficulty is up, we're gathering interest and the coin is being more actively traded.

We need the difficulty to go even higher, though. I would say that's the next step.

714  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should Coinmarketcap change its formula? 50% Premine coins on: March 12, 2014, 04:44:30 PM
Include an age older than option and set default for that as a typical first pump and dump, which I guess is usually within three months of opening.

I wonder those coins for which it is known that most coins are not available should not have that total coins as a multiplier.. Ripple being the big abuser of that idea.
If I create 99,999,996,303 of my own coin and sell only 10 of them for $10 each, do I have a market cap of $999,999,963,030?..

yes also remove unmineable coins like ripple.

No!!.. It's important that some Bitcoin2.0 Protocol coins are visible - NXT; MSC; XCP etc are valuable and that they are not available to miners doesn't suggest their marketcap is not interesting!

Yeah, clearly the idea of premine being a part of the market cap isn't a great model, and is innacurate until the coins are on the market.

I'm quite sure how ripple works in that respect.

Premine (PMC) was 100% premined, but all the coins were given away - so the premine of Premine is now 0.

What I'm saying is; should only the coins available to the market count towards the market cap? This seems like a much fairer model.
715  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Should Coinmarketcap change its formula? 50% Premine coins on: March 12, 2014, 04:30:35 PM
Starting to see the beginning of a horrible trend of 50% premined coins coming out. It's very disingenuous as you can bet there are going to be a lot of scam coins that will just get their premine dumped.

Soon everyone and their aunt are going to doing 50% Premined coins.

Basically, it's coin value x mined supply. If a coin has a declared premine, then the question is; should it be included in the market cap? a premine isn't the same as market supply, so I'm not sure why it's treated as such.

All well and good for legitimate coins, and provided coinmarketcap avoids the obvious scam coins, it will be fine, but it's just a matter of time before the community gets hit by one of these 50% dumps, and it's going to be devastating.

I'm not including AuroraCoin or MazaCoin in this. While questionable. they're certainly more credible than the garbage that's starting to follow in their wake.

Gaelcoin; https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=506076.0

How the hell will that work, then?
716  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin Revolt Against Cryptsy on: March 12, 2014, 04:12:50 PM
All I ever hear on these forums is problems with Dogecoin withdrawals and deposits on Cryptsy.

Just going on the amount people complain about it, it's clearly an issue. One that appears to ongoing.

If you strongly feel it is damaging Doge, then it seems fairly rational. Just pick your exchange wisely.
717  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE][ANN]DeleteCoin - The end is here. Say goodbye to all these alts 3-17 on: March 12, 2014, 03:05:32 PM
If this is legit, then I'm interested in this idea.

Crapcoins should quake in their boots.

But..

Won't this just cause altcoin deflation? If you delete 10% of the supply of some crapcoin, then surely you'll just be making it more valuable, won't you? May be a flaw in this concept.

This seems to be a reoccurring question and is a valid point/concern. In no way do we plan on being able to get 100% of any coin. At most we may be able to grab 10% as most people have probably deleted their wallets or, they could simply return to mining their crap alt with the mindset of no competition = 100% of every coin generated. That being said, this coin was designed more with the mindset of giving back to the community and helping those left holding the bag of crappy alts that, if with no action taken, would potentially be worthless forever. If this does some how revive some coins, all the better as the community is getting something back for the work they put in to start. However, if we could remove a few more .dat files one miner at a time for each junk alt, I feel it is progression. The coin cap vs our equal value is so minimal, we feel this would only be beneficial to those currently holding and it would not be worth reviving a coin for.

I like the idea.

In a round about way, doesn't this promote the mining of garbage coins especially in the beginning stages?  So we can trade them for /d coins?

We don't feel it does unless it is a coin aimed directly at trying to exploit DeleteCoin, in which we will address it and provide 0 exchange for the coin. For example if it is a coin created before yesterday, and have a huge front end of coin rewards, we would still accept it. However, if someone makes a 100% premine coin tomorrow, we simply can't take coins like that. We will also rely on the community in cases where there is a grey area and in the end, any contributes to DeleteCoin will be ultimately deciding the faith of what new alts are accepted and which ones are not.

Well ok, provided the coins are pretty worthless, it could work. As long as you don't target valuable alts, as then you'll indirectly increase their value. Pick something with massive sell walls at 1 satoshi. You'll only be burning up dead weight, even if the coin is good.

I have a pile of ValueCoins that are absolutely worthless. I'd happily burn the for some DELs.

The other issue is verifying the coins are actually destroyed, and not just kept.
718  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CASH] Crypto CASH a unique Crypto currency! **1.1 Client is mandatory** on: March 12, 2014, 12:26:51 PM
I just noticed my portfolio got a serious hit on Cryptsy, it was all because of CASH falling like nuts. Now 68000 with almost no support down to 6300.

I guess the instaminers and preminers started dumping again.

I cant believe this P.O.S was trading at 50,000 (that's 50 THOUSAND with a T) Satoshi at one point. When I came here to invest and ask why its trading at a ridiculous amount of 23,000!!!! Satoshi at the time instead of like 50 Satoshi a few mocked me and said I dont understand Crypto. Well, they were wrong of course.

And while holding a TON of CASH I still ask, why the FK does this trade at such a ridiculously high price of 6000 Satoshi??? Thats 6 THOUSAND like each CASH is worth 30 times one DOGE?? WTF??

If you have to ask why a coin with block reward of average 25 cost more than a coin with block reward of 500k  heheh then gtfo.

This person has to be amongst the most stupid on here for asking this.

Post your wallet address so i can test the fact you have HUGE amounts of cash. I bet you have about 0 CASH.

This is my challenge to you ...if you have TONS of CASH and HAD tons of CASH when you posted your comment then you can post your wallet and we can test how much CASH you don't/didnt have.

To add to this, CASH is probably the most undervalued coin currently on cryptsy. It's not a simple copy/pasta scrypt coin, it has POS and variable block reward.
There's ~ 1,091,908 CASH generated since launch. At 7k satoshi it only gives us a market cap of 76BTC, or only $40k. This is ridiculous.
When this coin has a proper block explorer, and is on coinmarketcap + an other exchange, expect at least a 10 fold increase, if not 100.

CASH is now at 2,500 Id still say thats a crazy ridiculous 2 THOUSAND 5 HUNDRED Satoshis, for what?? I mean a single DOGE is only 124 Satoshis and thats a popular coin.

TWO THOUSAND AND FIVE HUNDRED for a single CASHCOIN? WTF??

Come back when you understand the basics of supply and demand. Thanks.
719  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [RE-ANN][FCK] ★FCKBANKS REBORN ★(New Devs and team) ★ on: March 12, 2014, 12:18:11 PM
FCKBanks now on 121. place on coinmarketcap.com  Undecided

We've only recently been listed. Unfortunately Fckbanks spent too long at a low difficulty, so it's going to take more time for the price to increase. KittehCoin had the exact same problem. We're on coinmarketcap now. We just have to keep promoting the coin, and keep moving forward.

Coins with development get over the 1 Satoshi barrier. It's part of the issue of high total number coins with a low starting difficulty. Once the coin gains attention walls will move.

A targeted move by the community to get on a better exchange would be the next step. Now we're on Coinmarketcap, we should all request Poloniex add fckbankscoin. That is a very achievable next step, and will increase our place on coinmarketcap due to the increased volume.

Yes?

If we want fckbankscoin to gain value we must all be more proactive. Our efforts will be rewarded.

its nice when people who are actually productive in their comments offer their actually useful opinions.

we are still working on the new wallet changes, the new website, the tip bot(s) and other things related to dev and for the fckbanks project in general, but it takes some time, these aren't our fulltime jobs yet Wink

I would say then that the community should focus on getting us listed on Poloniex.  Smiley
720  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Auroracoin - good time to buy ? on: March 12, 2014, 12:15:02 PM
I wouldn't, personally.

I think the time to buy in was before the big pump.

My gut feeling says this coin is going to flop hard, but that's just my gut instinct. Make your own judgement. Just don't throw what you can't afford to lose on this.
