I should warn everyone that I fully intend to post computer related pictures on the way up this time too.

Hype!!!

Oh, my..you are right.
Apparently, squatters have rights in some states. Wow.
Well, Michigan is 15 years, NH is 20 years of continual occupation...and Alberta just abolished the "Squatters rights' altogether recently (and British Columbia and Ontario already did it beforehand).
I am not sure why US still has these somewhat ridiculous "rights" on the books; maybe so the available land is cultivated?

I believe that's what's referred to as "adverse possession". Even without that being in effect, squatters can be a pain (and expensive) to be rid of.

I am angling to buy another property too in 2025, but not for renting.
The idea is to "escape" hot summers here.
Potential areas: Canada, New Hampshire or Michigan (from more to less expensive, typically).
Some water view is a must, got tired of not seeing water on a daily basis (river, lake or ocean-whichever will do just fine).

I would suggest looking into how those localities handle squatters. I suspect we're going to see an increase in that kind of thing in the near future.

Over the years, I've grown extremely weary of conversations of the "theory of using cryptos for daily purchases" vs. the reality. The practicality of it is non-existent. The practicality of using fiat for daily transactions is still INFINITELY better and easier in every conceivable way.

Unfortunately so.

Philipma, there is a HUGE difference between "I mine the shitcoins ltc/doge and immediately dump them for btc" versus "Buy ltc or doge and hodl it to buy coffees, guys!! They will take over street commerce!"

Like a giant, galaxy-size difference.  Roll Eyes

So quit espousing the latter, when you only mean the former. It's tedious and annoying.

There's also the option of exchanging a chunk BTC for LTC from time to time to make small purchases more feasible. I still have some LTC hanging around from long, long ago and a couple of years I used some because it was a lot cheaper at the time than spending BTC. I hate LTC but I hate what's been done to BTC more.

Thanks for the warning... I get the sense that now I am going to be better prepared to be able to panic in the future when "we" bitcoiners have continued to fail/refuse to sufficiently build and prepare like you would like to happen in these here parts.

What do you suggest?  BIGGER blocks?  A change in BTC's governance? Or something else?

I've already said everything pertinent to the subject. Do you expect me to repeat myself? I try to avoid discussions that go around in circles these days. I know your MO is to use a hundred words when three would do but some of us have other things to do.

Psychological sell point.

By the way, last time I checked, less than 10 sats per vbyte to send transactions is not exactly going to kill anyone... and surely the current mempool status and even in the last three weeks, seems to have had been clearing 2-4 sats per byte without too many difficulties... .. which is $0.20 to $1 per transaction, unless maybe you are combining addresses, but you can send $100 or even $1billion for the same fee.  Not exactly expensive or broken... but hey, whine all you like.  It's a free country the last time I checked..

For a lot of us, the point was to get away from filthy fiat. The current state of the world financially should have been a huge boon for Bitcoin. Inflation frequently hanging out near double digits screams for an alternative. But when adoption turned to disadoption and the Bitcoin ecosystem withered away, a lot of incentive is lost when you have to deal with exchanges which represent counterparty risk and loss of privacy under US laws.

As to fees, it doesn't matter what they are right now but what they would be if Bitcoin was being used in a meaningful manner.

But my aim is not to convince anyone here and now, just plant seeds for when people start to open their eyes for themselves.

Poor bigblocker Richy_T pulling the long bow with misplaced FUD what you believe that will fit your delusional bigblocker narrative.

Persuasive.  Roll Eyes

Biden just said he wanted to fund three sides in two wars (which will probably end up with us funding another side in a third). They're strapping turbo chargers to the money printers.

I hope they strap one to BTC as well Grin.

Sadly, of the two possible futures where in one, everyone flees to Bitcoin for their transactions because it's a stable, cheap to use currency with plenty of capacity and the other where the economy is so shit, nobody can afford to buy bitcoin and it's expensive to use unless you get involved with some complicated experimental technology that just shit the bed, we're in the latter.

Everyone is thinking that the SEC will actually approve the ETFs. Let's wait and watch.

Did everyone go home?

Explanation
Chartbuddy thanks talkimg.com

A picture is worth 1000 words. Look at those shifting walls.

A large ask wall to keep the price down, shifting to a big bid wall to keep it from falling too low.

Manipulation at its finest.

I sometimes wonder if I should modify ChartBuddy to focus more on the small V in the middle but that picture shows I probably shouldn't, I think.

If you are planning in running a LN Node to make a profit or close to break even, then you are going to need more than 10BTC. You will need to be one of the top tier LN nodes (200+ BTC)

But muh decentralization. FFS, Blockstream.

gawd...  how many times should I celebrate the breaking of 28k before it's enough  Roll Eyes

The relief from breaking away from 26 is going to last a few more days for me.
