Well friends, my DCA days are over. It's time to start selling. I'm a little sad to spoil my stash, but it's about something important. For years I was not satisfied with the city and the institution where I work. I was recently invited to a prestigious institution with better pay and less working hours. For opsec reasons, I don't want to say what I work, I'll just say that it's a very good position, and only 1 month of working days is required per year. My work is a hobby and there is no question of retiring, because that's what I'll be doing anyway.

The city is large, with a rich history and culture, with many places for entertainment, recreation and restaurants. The people are good, cordial and I feel very well there for 1 year now. So I decided to buy an apartment. I'm putting off the idea of a house for now because I don't have that many bitcoins. My plan for the apartment is to use a mortgage, paying only 20% of the price now. It's a small percentage of my bitcoins, so I'll be able to swallow it. When the price reaches some level, I have decided to repay the entire loan by selling bitcoins, and my goal is to sell no more than 10% for the purpose. It's all worth it, because it's how I drastically change my lifestyle in the right direction. And I'm insured with my bitcoins, in case of financial difficulties to sell some more and not lose the apartment.

a while back i sold a respectable chunk of my corn to retire early. best decision ever. bitcoin is a tool and there are many ways to use it. so dont second guess yourself and enjoy the benefits bitcoin brings.

Even though I don't really disagree with your overall point vapourminer, there seems to be a decently-sized difference between you and ivomm, and ivomm has not been in bitcoin even as close to as long as you, and he had also been engaging in a variety of early sellings along the way and even trading and other kinds of over doing it in terms of trading using various forms of leverage too.. so I don't really have anything against ivomm, but I doubt that the measured-ness and the cushioning of his BTC selling is even close to yours.

Thanks for the warning... I get the sense that now I am going to be better prepared to be able to panic in the future when "we" bitcoiners have continued to fail/refuse to sufficiently build and prepare like you would like to happen in these here parts.

What do you suggest?  BIGGER blocks?  A change in BTC's governance? Or something else?

I've already said everything pertinent to the subject. Do you expect me to repeat myself? I try to avoid discussions that go around in circles these days. I know your MO is to use a hundred words when three would do but some of us have other things to do.

No problem.  I have largely said what I was planning to say on the topic too.. at least for the moment, but surely it might become more of a theme in these parts, depending on how quickly or well the lighting network fixes might be (assuming some kind of a fix) or even also depending on the various attacks from large third-party players who would like to get rich upon bitcoiners and perhaps do not have any good intentions in terms of allowing for individuals to mostly freely use bitcoin without having to get permission from governments and/or from financial institutions.

I am angling to buy another property too in 2025, but not for renting.
The idea is to "escape" hot summers here.
Potential areas: Canada, New Hampshire or Michigan (from more to less expensive, typically).
Some water view is a must, got tired of not seeing water on a daily basis (river, lake or ocean-whichever will do just fine).

I would suggest looking into how those localities handle squatters. I suspect we're going to see an increase in that kind of thing in the near future.

Well, Michigan is 15 years, NH is 20 years of continual occupation...and Alberta just abolished the "Squatters rights" altogether recently (and British Columbia and Ontario already did it beforehand).
I am not sure why US still has these somewhat ridiculous "rights" on the books; maybe so the available land is cultivated?

I believe that's what's referred to as "adverse possession". Even without that being in effect, squatters can be a pain (and expensive) to be rid of.

Could we talk about a possible laterality? or consolidation at $30k? I don't know, I don't think so:

A consolidation near the current level suggests that the bulls are in no hurry to book profits as they anticipate another leg higher. That could catapult the price to the overhead resistance zone between $31,000 and $32,400.

Contrarily, if the price turns down from $31,000, the BTC/USDT pair could drop to the 20-day exponential moving average ($28,160). If the price snaps back from this level, the bulls will again try to clear the overhead hurdle.

I don't think it can have a range value for a consolidation or later, the price remaining at $30k is not bad, but I think it can go higher. I'm one of those who believe that Bitcoin may be rising due to ETFs and how positive all that is.

In France things are working very well, and this may suggest that if it continues, bitcoin may have a better chance of rising in price:

If this policy were applied to many places in European countries and this culture reached all the corners of the world, I am sure that bitcoin would skyrocket at once, maybe if not? Or is it because I'm very optimistic?
