101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Daily Living on: January 14, 2020, 12:34:39 PM
It is quite hard to use Bitcoin for daily living but I do use it whenever there is an opportunity like buying items in an online shop where they accept BTC,  subscribing to services and pay with BTC.  Using third party apps that promotes Bitcoin usage to pay for Bills, other than that I use fiat currency because using BTC can't be applied.
102  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Rises to $20-$50k After Halving...Thoughts? on: January 13, 2020, 04:55:38 PM
What are your thoughts on Lightning Capital Hedge Fund Manager, Charles Hwang, predicting BTC price will rise between $20-$50k after Bitcoin halving?

Everyone and anyone can predict experts and newbies, but in reality the market is very unpredictable, everyone here are caught by surprise one way or the other by Bitcoin's sudden surge or dip, I stopped believing these experts prediction and will just have my own prediction based on past history and analyzing news all i know I have to get more Bitcoin now, because this is the best time.

I agree to that market is very unpredictable but before the price surge or plummet, there is indicators and signs that can at least give us hint on the next possible rally of Bitcoin.  Though I see Bitcoin being bullish today, I still can't see Bitcoin reaching $20k this year.  My thought, $20k on 2021 is possible.
103  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 67,1% of micro businesses do not know what cryptocurrencies are. on: January 13, 2020, 04:15:39 PM
One of the reasons most people don't know about crypto is the lack of crypto education. Most people who know about crypto are because they do research about this technology. We as crypto users should be responsible for spreading education and the benefits of using crypto. Starting from the closest people around us.

I think it is the government acceptance and its awareness campaign towards it that is lacking.  Aside from that business wouldn't want to encounter problems while dealing with cryptocurrency.  They very comfortable with fiat currency and they do not want to step out of their comfort zone just to try some technology.  Aside from that, the expenses and the hardship to learn the knowledge to operate this payment system is another issue.
104  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We are giving too much attention on the halving on: January 13, 2020, 03:23:55 PM
I agree that we should promote Bitcoin because of its technology  but we can't deny the fact that people especially investors are more interested on how they will profit in a certain venture.  I do not think that promoting profit is a bad idea, because with it we also promote its technology because promoters need to explain the technicalities of Bitcoin.  And money gain is the shortest route for people to get interested.
105  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Halving Price Prediction $55,000 - $130,000 on: January 12, 2020, 01:09:16 PM
2020 won't be a magic year for Bitcoin, I expect $15k in best scenario and in the worst case between $8k-$10k. It will be a long and slow year for Bitcoin. 2021 will be more realistic that things start moving up, well we will see! Smiley

Same here, I also think $15k would be the highest BTC price this year.  I think the halving hype is not enough to push BTC to its new heights.  Aside from that there are lots of shorters in the market, they tend to short their trades when they see a 10% to 20% profit.  If traders wanted Bitcoin to really go high and break its ATH, they should hoard their BTC and sell when it hits the mark ($20k+).
106  Economy / Speculation / Re: Nice Increase in Price but What Next?? on: January 12, 2020, 12:44:17 PM
We have all seen it before.. A nice pump here and there and then BOOM a big DUMP.. It's almost disheartening really but still.. What will come next of this little rise? Will it hold true and keep its position or will it come crashing down again and again. In my opinion i believe that Bitcoin would have to reach an over  10,000 usd mark to see a "bigger" style of a bull run. For now it's just going back and forth in a 6-8k range. None the less my friends only time will tell but until then what are some of your thoughts? As usual your thoughts and comments are more than welcome. Thanks again.
well it has been two weeks now and the market is showing some good stuffs like trying to be strong in $8,000 value.

we are almost 4 and 1/2 months to go before Bitcoin Halving and if this stabilizing continues to happen>?there is no doubt that we will be facing an early bull run this year.

I hope so, and this increase is not some bull trap.  We have lots of articles on the internet regarding Bitcoin going to 5 digits.  I'm so into seeing it happen soon.  This increase of Bitcoin from $7k to 8k+  this early of the year is a good sign, plus the halving that will happen soon, there is no denying that Bitcoin started strong this year and hoping that the next run of Bitcoin will bring it to $15k then all the way to breaking ATH.
107  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why We Think Craig Wright is Satoshi and Why That Matters on: January 12, 2020, 11:00:09 AM

This is his way of promoting the currency he have, Craig Wright might look stupid upon doing these things but in fact, he is getting a huge support by people who could see the light within the cryptocurrency Craig implemented.

I wonder where is the light within his message?  All I know is he is bringing chaos and confusion to the market by deceiving people that he is Satoshi.

Though, I don't support his claims, I threat all cryptocurrency as having potential to be profitable in the future, but the way he is promoting is making me dislike his forked cryptocurrency even though I see it performing very well in the market.

Lesson, focus on what you have, because we will not grow making others fall.

Better to learn other things than staying on what we had learned, this way it will make us grow and understand better things.
108  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if Bitcoin never reaches a new ATH? on: January 12, 2020, 10:47:00 AM
For me it does not matter whether Bitcoin will never reaches a new ATH as long as it has a real life use case and still highly volatile.  Real life use case is important because it conveys that Bitcoin in not just a worthless code that is highly hyped and the volatility so that I am able to profit from it by exploiting the price movement into my advantage.
109  Economy / Speculation / Re: Trump's iran War Pump in BTC Price. Will it last? Poll. on: January 11, 2020, 03:24:19 PM

I'm surprised on the results it seems, thr war has nothing to do with Bitcoin price, that is the general consensus of the majority here and I thought the Iran issue is one of the main reason why their is a pump, so majority here think it's not, and they attributed it to something unknown until, that leaves everybody guessing.

Indeed war has nothing to do with Bitcoin price.  Do you imagine yourself in a middle of war and rushing to buy Bitcoin?  These are all just a make up story that war enable Bitcoin price to go up.  People do have  great imagination.  They find something relevant to irrelevant stuffs.
110  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China & The Bitcoin on: January 11, 2020, 02:39:31 PM
China is anti bitcoin for already several years. If they continue to only talk about it than nothing sirous will happen. But real ban will cause great dump in crypto space

I do not think there will be a great dump in crypto space if China bans Bitcoin.  As far as I know, China maybe friendly towards Blockchain tech but they are already hostile to Bitcoin so if ever they decided to ban Bitcoin, I believe there is very little difference on what they have done before.  The effect will possibly be the opposite because people tends to rebel when being suppressed.
111  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will happen if quantum computer owners start to move the early mined coins? on: January 11, 2020, 01:51:13 PM
The hype around quantum computer isn't that great.  It was exaggerated by writers who wanted to have huge amount of views.  Besides, this FUD that spreads  like what OP stated will not happen because Bitcoin developers are already looking for solution before the implementation of quantum computers.  In short, Bitcoin  will be QC resistant before what we fear happens.
112  Economy / Speculation / Re: My opinion about the price movement of BTC on: January 11, 2020, 10:42:11 AM
I think the price movement is due to 2 reasons.

1) The price has been hanging around $7000-$7500 for a while and investors see it support or a bottom.

2) We are getting close to the halving and this could start another bull run.
The support at $7700 to $7900 prove to be strong enough the price could go down ie price was rejected at that zone after a correction an indication of a bullish trend ready to unfold probably heading to $10K.

I think Bitcoin will hold to $8k until it breaks $9k going to $10k as analyst predicted.  It seems the market is preparing for another rally to 5 digit then retrace before rallying again towards Bitcoin halving.  Though I am still not convinced that it will break its ATH this year.
113  Economy / Speculation / Re: $9k next week on: January 10, 2020, 01:39:26 PM
As far as I know there’s no big event currently happening so bitcoin prices won’t see a major upward movement in January, however I do hope we see more bull rallies going ahead in 2020. @Fatunad yes the Chinese president did say positive words relating to blockchain, but Bank of China spilled water on it and ended any short term hopes the market had from China relating to adoption of bitcoin.

Indeed no big even on the following weeks but I do not think China ended the short term hopes for the market and Bitcoin adoption.  China is just a single country, and the world have lots of then, even though China gave a strong opposition to Bitcoin, there are also other country who happily accept Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency.  News and articles are still being bullish regardless of China's action so I think there is still a possibility for Bitcoin to rally to $9k on the following weeks.
114  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why bitrcoin is going up on: January 10, 2020, 12:28:15 PM
I think whales is upto something why bitcoin is going up.  The wanted Bitcoin price to increase so they can dump it at higher price to push the Bitcoin price down and accumulate again at the bottom before the halving event.  Probably they will do this several times before that major event take place.
115  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we getting a pump and dump for this month? on: January 10, 2020, 12:00:13 PM
It seems we had experience the first pump and dump of the year.  Though this previous price movement may not be considered as major pump but being a minor pump indeed.   Those who bought before this minor pump and sold at peak before the price goes down below $8k  should accumulate again because the pump series is yet to be finish.  There are also prediction that price will go back to $10k so if we happen to accumulate at this point, we can have around 28% profit if the predicted price is met.
116  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin going beyond $14,000 before May, history repeating itself on: January 10, 2020, 11:14:54 AM
I really  wanted to see history repeats itself which means this halving can make  Bitcoin rally towards its new all time high.  It is logical to think that Bitcoin will reach around $14k-$20k tange if we based it to the price of Bitcoin before those previous halving event.  We see some major recovery this past days, probably it is the sign that Bitcoin trend is going bullish towards the Bitcoin halving event.
117  Economy / Speculation / Re: Brace yourselves, there is FOMO coming on: January 10, 2020, 10:29:45 AM
as we entered 2020 and the first week is coming to an end, price has picked up and started heading towards $10k as it was expected before.
like all the previous times i again expect another FOMO to start due to this rise that would bring the price up in a sudden and big move. the only question remaining is about when it is going to start.

we saw a small version today as price jumped up from $7300 to $8300 but that is the small FOMO. i think we can see price easily jump up above $10k when it starts.

I really love to see this FOMO kicks in.  But sadly price retraced to sub $8k after the tension on the middle east cools down.  So, I guess this is just an ordinary price recovery.  It is due when its due, and we are expecting Bitcoin to recover $9k after this retrace and I hope to see it soon then towards 5 digit Bitcoin price before halving.
118  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price on Chinese New Year on: January 09, 2020, 02:35:24 PM

In my opinion the bitcoin price will only drop a bit or stable while facing Chinese New Year 2020. The impact of World War 3 is more influential than other things. All sector such as economic, politic, society, goverment, security can be changed. This can make a country's financial stability and money value unstable. And then bitcoin will be the best option to save their money from inflation or deflation. High demand from people who want bitcoin makes the price of bitcoin go up so that it can covering expenditure on Chinese New Year.

Thats my opinion about bitcoin price on Chinese New Year, how about you guys? Let's discuss it  Grin

I  think Bitcoin movement will be different this time.  It won't drop but would go sideways at worst.  I think we can see a small recovery of the price probably the prediction of $10k will happen.  It is just my speculation though anything will happen of course since Bitcoin price is so unpredictable.
119  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin fleas are going down! on: January 09, 2020, 02:11:59 PM
I was attracted by the title of OP but when I read the content, I see that it was a typo. Anyway.. it is really good to see Bitcoin fees going down.  I hope it goes down to the value that can compete with other altcoins fees.  If we look at it, Bitcoin fee is still more expensive than other major altcoin.  If this is fixed plus the confirmation time, I bet Bitcoin adoption will be accelerated.
120  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: Megawatts or Megahash - rating miners. on: January 09, 2020, 01:57:59 PM
This would probably be a good idea if it discourage excessive energy consumption by large miners. Hopefully it pressures the miners to abandon the old way(which I believe has served it purpose) and adopt an efficient, clean, less energy consuming PoW, hybrid or other mining means.
I feel that having large mining farms defeat the whole purpose of Blockchain/decentralization.
In my opinion, a decentralized system shouldn't have large concentrated hardware or consume as much energy as powerful companies with large energy consuming data centers.
If  "things" continue like this, mining could become very unprofitable and the whole mining will be unprofitably ran by single entity/company for their own agenda.

I do not think it does any thing at all.  It is just used to let the miners know how much watts they are consuming or some kind of scheme to attract more audience.  We all know that new terms, though old scheme, refreshes the market and caters audience.  I believe it is more on the marketing side.
