181  Economy / Speculation / Re: Ponzi scheme and Bitcoin on: December 27, 2019, 05:21:46 AM
Would the collapse of a Ponzi scheme effect the price of Bitcoin?
Though a hypothesis that the collapse of the Chinese Plustoken, a classic Ponzi scheme similar to bitconnect or countless others affected the price of Bitcoin, this seem to be accceptible although it's unlikely to be the major factor but distribution of stolen funds correlate very well with market downturns.

It would definitely affect the price of Bitcoin (Crypto Ponzi scheme collapsing)  in a good way.  Many had stayed away from Bitcoin because of this scam company.   Once it is routed and the integrity of cryptocurrency is established, it will definitely attract more investors and enthusiast in crypto community thus creating more demands for Bitcoin and as a result it will affect Bitcoin market positively.
182  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In 2019, Students Demanded Blockchain Education. In 2020, It’s Coming on: December 27, 2019, 05:11:14 AM
I would not be surprised if some countries join in the train of offering blockchain courses or degree because whether you like it or not, the blockchain technology is a great tool with so much benefits to help curb the escalating rate of bribery and corruption. Blockchain technology needs to be exploied to the latter. In the meantime some industries i heard some universities across the globe do offer online blockchain courses as well.

already happening but i guess more universities will integrate blockchain tech this coming year. blockchain tech is indeed a great tool to address many issues such as transparency in operations and its corresponding cost.
young generation would be the new crypto users very soon. more adoption means better crypto valuation in the market.

I agree, since the popularity of blockchain technology is spreading wordwide, those who wanted to be the first one to be recognized as blockchain tech school hub would definitely plan on how to integrate it on their school curriculum.  As a matter of fact one of the popular school here in our country offers blockchain tech courses to students who are interested in learning this trending technology.
183  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is your thought about halving? on: December 27, 2019, 04:41:47 AM
In theory, when supply is cut and demand remains, prices will rise. But what is your thought? Do you guys think it will go up

You already stated it, definitely it will go up from the law of supply and demand and Bitcoin history shows how the price rallies before and after the halving.  Aside from that, halving also gives hype to the market creating a mood of demand and sometime FOMO to the community.
184  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would a Crypto Based Economy Make Things Safer? on: December 26, 2019, 06:34:35 AM
As the state of economy does at times really influence levels of crime and social aspects in any community.

Right now under the fiat system there is a major and growing sides of rich and poor.
With many times people who are "without" getting into trouble. Such as committing crimes. Getting into substance abuse etc.

If society or at least communities are able to become more independent and based their markets all on crypto. In which they follow the principles of crypto? as in prevent inflation and create an equal or at least more fair financial market. If that was the case/

Would this create a more safer community? would this cause people not to resort to crime? substance abuse? etc?

Your thoughts why or why not?

I do not think that it will make things safer.  All are susceptible to attacks and manipulation.  Even if we use cryptocurrency, if the one running the scene is the same (government), it will make no difference.  They can even make the blockchain private so I guess, we need to change our leaders first and implement new rulings that will make the economy safer from manipulations.
185  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Many big powers agains crypto on: December 26, 2019, 03:26:30 AM
I just read this article and it really startled me. Seems "the big boys" are not betting on the crypto horse and would hope to see it die out.
Guess that is no news but when social media platforms are applying this type of censorship it crosses some limits in my book.
https://news.bitcoin.com/speculation-abounds-regarding-youtubes-removal-of-crypto-content/
Is this the beginning for a new crypto exclusive youtube clone?

It is normal for big powers to go against a revolution where they will be incapacitated.  Government of several countries are really not into Bitcoin because they fear of Bitcoin's dominance in financial industry.  With regards youtube removal of cryptocurrency content, I think there is some violation of YT rule or some copy infringement had been made on that videos or probably it will have a negative effect on the economy.  What ever it is I believe there is a violation made.  Let us wait and see if YT will remove all cryptocurrency content in its platform.  It is too early to speculate something that is so unclear.
186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coins or Utility Tokens? on: December 26, 2019, 03:00:50 AM
What would I want? Great platforms that actually use bitcoin and increase it's adoption. It's almost 2020. I think it's a good time(and well overdue) to stop looking for unnecessary coins and tokens that are being created unnecessarily.  By now you would think that people would already realize that most coins/tokens exists just to enrich the creators, but nope. People sure does love looking for the "nExT BiTcOiN".

I think otherwise.  It is great to see new tokens and coins that caters the needs of people.  More competition, more development on the table.  We must accept the fact that there are other project ambitious developer that wanted to lead a project and implement their goals ang plans.  With Bitcoin alone, these developer won't have any chance of showcasing their skills and showing their skills is also healthy to Bitcoin economy because there will be lots of testing grounds (altcoin projects) for Bitcoin future technological development.
187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins getting delisted on: December 25, 2019, 04:04:52 AM
Hi guys i read on the news that major few exchanges are delisting some altcoins that falls to keep up due to present bear market, for example poloniex exchange is delisting Omni and primecoin and others, what do you have to share about this?

Some are saying its good to invest in old coins now few old coins are dying, I believe they've met the end of their roadmap, no more excitement about them, this is why i still feels that newer coins will take the bigger advantage of future greenish market, what do you think?

First, it is normal for exchanges to delist idle coins or those who do not met the daily trading quota.  I think those old coins that became stagnant and no prior development are already done.  There is no future for it so I agree that newly crated coins have the advantage of greener market since the market is yet to be saturated.
188  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trade Your Privacy to ₿itcoin? on: December 25, 2019, 03:18:16 AM
Would you be willing to trade your location, name, and any other private and personal details over BTCitcoin? Yes? No? Why?
I know many of us have already submitted countless documents to various cryptocurrency exchanges just to pass their KYC process and comply with AML but how far would someone be willing to give up just to get a part of that precious BTCitcoin?

Well I already given my identities to exchanges and projects that requires KYC, so I do not think it will make any difference if I submitted it to get paid in BTC as long as it is not used in illegal means.  What is it to have a second thought about it when we already done that several times?
189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin is a get rich quick scheme, then fiat is a get poor slow scheme on: December 25, 2019, 03:01:14 AM
I found this quality topic on twitter and it all caught my attention. I have seen that fiat is the currency of the Government and Bitcoin is the currency of the people, Can the Government Crash? if so the people cannot Crash neither, because so many people are not making good business from the fiat than in bitcoin, which have provided so much job opportunities for users who are online. Fiat will be replaced soon by bitcoin.

Share your thoughts

Honestly I do not get the argument, it seems senseless.  Bitcoin is never been a rich quick scheme, its those scam company that promote it that way and at the same time fiat currency maybe depreciating its value due to inflation but I don't think it is a get poor slow scheme because if you are working you have a continues flow of fiat currency to your stash and wages adjust accordingly.
190  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much bitcoin to buy? on: December 25, 2019, 02:41:06 AM
I recently purchased bitcoin, it was the most I have ever put into a cryptocurrency.
This is going to be a long term buy, This was taken out of stock money,
Now that I have done this I feel more excited about
where bitcoin is headed than  I do about stocks. Now I feel like I should take more out of
Stocks, Feel there’s going to be more return this way. Thoughts on this am I getting carried away

Definitely you are getting carried away but I think it is good.  Just make sure you have that patience and strong hand to hodl until your target price is achieved.  Many people who are too enthusiastic towards BTC ends up being disappointed when the BTC price crashed.  You should be well aware that Bitcoin price goes up and down insanely in fast pace.
191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Much WOW?!?! on: December 25, 2019, 01:41:44 AM
The inflation increase idea is not bad at all but i will choose deflation over inflation nowadays, anyways nothing excited me more than ETH POS feature, i believe this feature is what will take ETH to another high level

Same here, inflation simply means price deterioration.  Meaning without any incoming fund, and increase in supply will definitely make the price of ETH to plummet.  I hope FUDers won't see this opportunity to flood the ETH market with lots of negative stuff.  I am not against this inflation but I am worry about the stance of those who are looking for opportunity to pull the price of ETH down.
192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people still fall victim to obvious scam? on: December 24, 2019, 01:04:01 AM
Why do people still fall victims to obvious scams? Especially on twitter people are still sending bitcoin to traders, no one is a perfect trader, do not send bitcoin or other coins to people to trade for you, its stupid and foolish idea

Today a bitcoin trader on twitter exit scam and delete all traces off social media, i heard its about 53bitcoin, here is the link to the news

https://coinnewstelegraph.com/bitmex-bitcoin-fund-manager-exit-scams-before-christmas/

Pls stop, there is no such thing as easy money, its either you learn or you quit or else you will keep losing money

Greed, ignorant, impatience.  These are the three factors why people always fall to scams.  We all know that it is really hard to earn money so whenever a person heard about an easy money opportunity, their greed and impatience always triggers.  As a result, they fall victim to these scam scheme.
193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Outclasses Other Cryptocurrencies as an Investment Option, Here’s Why on: December 24, 2019, 12:43:04 AM
No doubt about that, bitcoin has always been and will be the number one best store of value in this industry. Most altcoins are basically worthless and their investors are full of remorse right now. In the upcoming years i hope most people will learn from this experience and not jump into any project that pop up into this space. At least hold some bitcoins for the future profits.

When it comes to fiat conversion and market demand I think Bitcoin is the best option among the cryptocurrency to invest in since there are lots of third party exchanges that converts Bitcoin to cash and that makes us worry less if ever we invest in Bitcoin, but in terms of profitability I think new established promising legit altcoin is way better than Bitcoin since it is just on its infancy stage and price would possibly balloon to more than 10x in just a short period of time.
194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has gone up the past week. on: December 24, 2019, 12:18:47 AM
It has gone up around $800, do you think they could run it up and then I would come down before January 1 before the new year. Or they will not come in to play?  I’m waiting for some money to clear to buy some. And I don’t know right now is the best time to buy

It seems some bonuses of the people goes to buy Bitcoin, and if you are into a long term investment, I think it is the right time to buy Bitcoin. Halving is just around the corner and we all know that in the history of Bitcoin halving  price always increase and even breaks ATH.  Who knows probably this coming halving it, Bitcoin market will perform extraordinarily well.
195  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Price pressure of exchanges on: December 23, 2019, 11:58:45 PM
I'd lean more towards the opposite.

Same here but I do not leave by coins on an exchange.  I always make sure that I withdraw it whenever I do not have any business on that exchange such as trading.  It is far safer to withdraw and save Bitcoin in our own wallet because there are so many cases that an exchange had been hacked and shutdown without reimbursing the funds of their client.

With regards to exchanges manipulating prices and volumes, well it is often a custom of exchanges.  So I think there is nothing new to it.
196  Economy / Speculation / Re: What’s your expectation on 2020 Halving year?! on: December 23, 2019, 11:28:03 PM

What’s your expectation on 2020 Halving year? Feel free to share your ideas & opinions.

I expect that Bitcoin price will recover during the halving event.  I am not confident that it will break the current ATH but there is always a possibility.  If Bitcoin breaks ATH probably it will go as high as $25k and if not probably around $17k until a really good development come and it will record another ATH.
197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scammers are smart as well. on: December 22, 2019, 01:30:48 PM
Right! Scammers are often very smart. Especially to deceive cryptocurrencies is very smart must have knowledge and thorough understanding. 2019 will be disciplined for fraudulent money. Surely anyone who cares will know about the famous incident. The biggest scam ever recorded is the Plus Token. The e-wallet project on this smartphone is said to be a variant of the multi-level (Ponzi). Before the heads of the Plus Token suddenly disappeared in early July, they had promptly collected $ 2.9 billion from investors.

Well for a fraudulent activity to be successful, they must make their presentation looks legit.  With that they thought of it thoroughly and how to mimic legit company.  They think in advance and often prepare answers to possible hard question from these suspecting possible client.
198  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: could it be most project don't succeed? on: December 20, 2019, 04:03:05 PM

to me this are the interest of those fake project.
1. they want to boost their  facebook page
2. they want to boost their twitter page
3. LinkedIn page
4. YouTube, ETC

I think this is the main interest of all cryptocurrency especially those who are seeking funds.  The stated platform have lots of possible investors so it is a basic step to target these platform's users.  It is that it is more exploited by scam projects.

my Questions

Is there no other ways BTT can track and trace such people posting such project in the forum?
Is there no way we can run free and fair project in the system without us being scammed or tricked?

Let me rest my case here and I would like the elders of this forum to look into this
Please feel free to drop your comment

Admin only have the IP of the members, so I do not think there is other way than that.  And as for the project, it is on the discretion of the creator.  He can be fair or he can be a scam.
199  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Enforcing government regulations on: December 17, 2019, 06:51:09 AM
Governments can issue regulations as they please. No doubt about it.
The promise of Bitcoin was to leave governments unable to enforce any kind of regulations using technology and decentralization.
The problem with that promise is that it is enormously expensive for consumers to run Bitcoin nodes. Therefore everyone uses third parties, there's not that many of them and there's absolutely no way for them to stay resistent to regulations.

So as I see it, there was a time when governments couldn't enforce their regulations to decentralized currency. Now they can.

What do you think? Is the Bitcoin promise broken?

I cannot find anywhere that Bitcoin promise anything.  Yes it is created for p2p currency that can be send anywhere without 3rd party intrusion which is still in effect.  Regulation of government does not necessary means that it can't be send the way it used to be.
200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Altcoins not Growing These Days on: December 16, 2019, 04:58:17 PM
The reason why altcoin is not growing these days is possibly because of the Bull market of 2017 is overly hyped.  So when the price goes beyond its actual value, the tendency is to go down until it hits its actual price value before making it growth again.  Another thing is the scam projects during those hype years. Lots of investors got scammed so probably the next wave of investors are kinda hesitant to enter the crypto market until the time they regain their trust on the crypto market/industry.
