921  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you expect a crash soon ? Or you see bitcoin keep climbing ? on: October 12, 2017, 09:58:58 AM
I am expecting a climb, not crash soon because the upcoming upgrade that will result in a fork looks bullish.  Bitcoin will be implementing an upgrade that will give way to series of important upgrade to Bitcoin to be able to compete against other payment system.  I will say it will continue to climb in price.
922  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reasons why now is the time to invest in Bitcoin on: October 12, 2017, 08:16:31 AM
More and more people are interested on the crypto invest, it will have a hug Market in the word in the future.

Yes I agree seeing this thing to happen in the future will  be a good reason to invest in Bitcoin today.  Most rich people are those who see the potential of project years before they saw their profit.  Same goes with bitcoin since the market is still in its infancy.  With lots of people coming in every day, Bitcoin will definitely a good way to multiply our capital if we invest right now.
923  Economy / Speculation / Re: should i buy or sell today on: October 06, 2017, 11:38:55 PM
I think you should buy because as long as bitcoin increases it's value every year it is better to buy than to sell bitcoin but you need to do is to wait.

I think it depends on the need of  a person.  If he needs money badly he can sell his holding, at least Bitcoin recovered now and he can sell at higher price.  Though I can say not sell them all.  Just sell the amount that is needed to reduce your lost.  Bitcoin keeps on appreciating and will make you lost a lot if you sold all your Bitcoin and it keeps on increasing in price.
924  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it a sin to gamble? on: October 06, 2017, 11:33:11 PM
Gambling is a sin if your religion sets gambling as a sin, gambling for fun or for making money will remain sin. Even if you ignore it, even if you do not consider it a sin, it remains a sin. If you already know the law, next is your choice to keep gambling or not because whatever you choose you will bear the consequences.

So is being gay, lending out money and the following,

Do not wear clothing woven of two kinds of material. Leviticus 19:19
Ye shall not round the corners of your heads. Leviticus 19:27

So it is a sin to wear clothes that has cotton and elastic materials. It is also a sin to shave your head bold.

Just to prove a point here that sins are really stupidly written things on paper.

Funny thing is, what you quoted is not even written on the scripture, I cannot find anything in the scripture that forbid people from gambling nor directly stating that gambling is a sin.  The great part here is that religious leader keep on saying gambling is a sin and yet when they need fund they hold a lottery, isn't lottery a gambling too?  Funny isn't it?
925  Economy / Speculation / Re: The price is increasing AGAIN on: October 06, 2017, 11:21:56 PM
That is why panic selling is the major reason why many are losing in bitcoin trading. If those that sell there bitcoin last month because of the panic created by the comments make by Jamie Dimon and China banned of ico project and the subsequent rumors that bitcoin exchanging activities has been banned, could have hold, they could have still sell high when bitcoin raise to $4500 early this week. I think, we are currently in upward momentum and this may last till the end of this month.
The problem is that these persons are probably trading bitcoin just to get profits and are not people that truly believe in the future of bitcoin so as soon as they see the price to go down they sell thinking they are cutting their losses when in fact they are undermining their future earnings.

We are all here to get profit?  You are here because of the earnings this forum and Bitcoin is giving to you.  Else you won't even give your precious time chatting and replying with  us.

As of now the price of bitcoin is 4400 dollars and I think it will continue to increase so you can buy now with your extra money only.

I agree but after some dip because FUD around the next upgrade is getting stronger.
926  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Bitcoin Volatility Be Controlled? on: October 06, 2017, 10:24:48 PM
I think that you can control the volatility of bitcoin by launching a bad or good condition. Good news will increase the price, and the bad will be lowered on the contrary.
Sorry mate, but this cannot control volatility but will even make it more volatile. What do you think has been going on all this few years. I am not sure if you understand the control we are talking about here but the control scenario you just said is apparently not a way to control it.
Controlling is more like finding a way to make the volatility stop and not increase.

I agree Bitcoin volatility cannot be controlled, though there might be manipulation from time too time but it is just temporary.  Bitcoin Volatility is driven by supply and demand, sometimes demand is so great that it push the product up and sometimes other people wanted to sell their stash so a sudden flock in of supply to the market make the price goes down.
927  Economy / Economics / Re: Would using Bitcoin currently increase or decrease its value? on: October 06, 2017, 10:12:05 PM
I'm new to the Bitcoin / Cryptocurrency world, and the economics are pretty interesting.. My question is more of a large-scale economics question.

Would using Bitcoins, to purchase goods (not on this forum) or services, increase its perceived value due to wider exposure or level-out/decrease its perceived value by establishing an accepted value of it?

I hope that was clear enough. Just looking for ideas and thoughts.
In my own words and understanding if you do tend to use up your bitcoin to buy goods and other stuffs and services i cant see that it would increase nor decrease its current value since those merchants are holding up their bitcoin that they do earn unless if they would decide to sold up those amounts on an exchange then it will surely affect depending on how big it is but if we do say on small amounts even on selling or exchanging them wont really give impact at all.

Converting Bitcoin to fiat currency means selling your bitcoin, if you are selling a huge amount of bitcoin that will eat out buy demands of bitcoin then it will affect the price because priced moved lower but I know eventually the price will recover.
928  Economy / Economics / Re: If you have a lot of bitcoin, should you spend it or save it? on: October 06, 2017, 09:36:39 PM
If I have a lot of bitcoin, then I will make the bitcoin as a capital for trading, and the profit I get from trading I spend to buy the things I want, so my bitcoin is not reduced and I can still have fun with the profit gained from the bitcoin
Quite easy to say but extremely hard to execute. You are assuming you will be always making profit from trading, which to be honest it not so easy and you won't always be making profits. There might be a time where you do a very bad investment and you end up losing a loads. What would you do then?

Lol, he can just trade wisely, diversify the capital into different tokens or coins.  This way he can reduce the risk of getting bankrupt in one go.  Though it would be awesome if he can implement that,  spending bitcoin without reducing the amount he is holding through taking profit from different trading activity Smiley
929  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Singapore announced three prototypes of payments on the blockroom on: October 06, 2017, 09:20:27 PM
so the country is realizing the potential of crypto currencies, and is trying to get digital , but the catch is there are doing that for their own currency which still  be in controlled  of their government and laws will be formulated on it too.  Bitcoin is not going to benefit from it,whose whole idea is   being decentralized and direct peer to peer transactions.smart move for the country and but nothing beneficial for btc.

Definitely, government will never adopt bitcoin, it will expose them of their corruption and how they steal money from the taxes people are paying.  Bitcoin blockchain is so transparent that even a single satoshi  moved is recorded and government official knows that  Grin .  They will rather spend billion of dollar researching for the kind of technology that will benefit them and keep their dirty secret out of the eyes of people.
930  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you send Bitcoin without using an exchange? on: October 06, 2017, 09:08:27 PM
We can send Bitcoin without using an exchange by downloading desktop wallet or mobile wallet, keeping the fund there and moving it if you wanted to send a transaction.  They are free and available online.  Among these wallets, I am fond of using electrum lightweight wallet.
931  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why is Bitcoin Price So Fluctuating? on: October 06, 2017, 08:02:45 PM
Bitcoin market is driven by speculation.  This is the reason why Bitcoin price is so fluctuating.  It has no central government to control and manipulate its price.  Supply and demand is the one governing the price.  If there is more people willing to buy the coin then it will go up and if there is people wanted to sell their coin then it goes down in price.
932  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is PayPal now feeling the pressure from Bitcoin? on: October 06, 2017, 06:44:28 AM
I like Paypal since the first day I used it, but I do not use it anymore because it does not do much innovation. Free debit card issuance is a good behavior. Also for me, BitCoin is now taking PayPal's place.

I think it will take time for Bitcoin to take paypal place, aside from that paypal can just integrate Bitcoin in their service or they will just create their own blockchain.  As on of the reply here stated,  that would bring innovation to paypal in terms of service delivery.  Aside from that, it can also compete with Bitcoin and somehow threatened it.
933  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin rise is over on: October 05, 2017, 11:28:32 PM
The rise might be over, but only for a short while. Sentiment is still very bulish mid and long term. correcting to 2k area still wouldn't make the majority of holders bearish on mid and long term. It all depends on what timeframe you're looking. Might be better to start thinking about 5-10 years from now instead of staring at a 15M/1hr chart and stressing over normal fluctuations.

Well it is normal for bitcoin to increase in price, dip and rebound then settle for sometimes before going up again.  This process keeps repeating again and again.  So after this Bitcoin being stagnant, I think the next move will be uptrend because of the coming event for Bitcoin.  Implementation of Segwit2x.
934  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC rise to 4300 $ on: October 05, 2017, 11:19:15 PM
bitcoin prices will rise above $ 4500 in the near term. well, it can be said that bitcoin prices today can be an opportunity for investors, to buy bitcoin in large quantities. I think the price will go back up again.
In the next month maybe but this month bitcoin will be forked again and that means the more airdrop to pump the price of the bitcoin just like the bitcoin cash make those are buying a lot of bitcoin

Fork means another network and the thing these two network will have the same amount of coin.  You know what this means?  This means profit for those who have huge amount of BTC in their stash.  So I see the upcoming split somehow bullish, people will buy Bitcoin and keep it before the fork happen. So I guess the price will somehow increase during those times.
935  Economy / Economics / Re: Government & Bitcoin on: October 05, 2017, 10:09:41 PM
Government won't undertake bitcoin they have dollar and they managing it.But we people can decide on.

They wont I agree.  Because people will see how corrupt these government official are especially when it comes to  taxation.  Transparency, government is afraid of this and blockchain is promotes transparency.  So they will chose a more private option than this public ledger.

I think Bitcoin having usage will definitely increase in value.  By spending it to some online store supports its  community by enabling merchant to have client and profit from it.  From this point of view, if merchants are profitable using Bitcoin as mode of payment, more and more merchant will definitely flock in and the real life usage of Bitcoin will be strengthen thus community will grow and new comers will flock in.
937  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many people are asking you about Bitcoin now? on: October 05, 2017, 09:07:32 PM
Not much people are asking me about Bitcoin.   Though I have introduced my friends to it but it seems they lack interest.  Probably they are in a position that have a decent job and does not need an extra earning, while others are just hesitant because of the fraud thing being stamped on Bitcoin during its early years.  Oh well, why would I care, it is their lost not mine.
938  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you need miners on a blockchain if there are no tokens? on: October 05, 2017, 08:48:45 PM
I believe whether the network need miners on a blockchain depends on the setup of its network.  Mostly Blockchain needs miner to move the block, even with the PoS system, they still mine it by opening their wallet and carrying weight to stake.  Others does not need miner because it is what their system was created.
939  Economy / Speculation / Re: what you think about bitcoin in like 5 years? on: October 05, 2017, 08:36:28 PM
I think Bitcoin will be in Mainstream in five years.  Media are getting interested in Bitcoin now even though  they still hold a little understanding about it.  But I know eventually these Media will understand what Bitcoin is and will untiringly promote Bitcoin.  With the implementation of different updates and upgrad in its network, I believe Bitcoin will eventually be used as main payment for online transaction and does not need the old ways of waiting too long and will have an instant confirmation.
940  Economy / Speculation / Re: Segwit2x vs 1 MB on: October 05, 2017, 08:24:43 PM
For a non-technical person like me, if ever there is a bitcoin fork, I will always go for the Bitcoin Network, it would be much complicated to know the difference and would be a bigger risk if I chosed the other one.  Honestly, I guess those who keep the old chain when we have already a new improved chain is in only for profit.  Because I do not see any  other reason why they have to keep them alive.
