1001  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTB] Bitcoin Magazine Issue #1 on: November 08, 2012, 02:30:25 AM
His comment does not imply he printed more than 2 thousand copies.
For all we know it just means issue #1 is not completely sold out.
1002  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Best demonstrated efficiency: 375 Mhash/Joule on: November 07, 2012, 10:50:39 AM
The bASIC power consumption estimate from Tom "8-10 devices per 1000W PSU" is too vague to make a statement at this point... For starters he did not say if he was talking about 24Ghash/s or 57Ghash/s devices.
1003  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTB] Bitcoin Magazine Issue #1 on: November 07, 2012, 09:52:45 AM
I asked Vladimir about availability of issue #1. He said they should be available a bit "later":

Quote
Hi Mark,

There are only temporarily difficulties with stock of #1. There is still a reasonable amount of copies of #1 unsold, we just do not have prompt access to them at this time.

Unless you want it urgently I would suggest just wait and you should be able to buy it later.
1004  Other / Off-topic / Re: BFL ASICs featured in issue #4 of Bitcoin Magazine on: November 07, 2012, 05:09:12 AM
Altera Hardcopy is "65nm" too.

Of course they won't admit that they are using it.

I don't see 65nm on the product page: http://goo.gl/LhjH7

Ok they probably are not using Altera Hardcopy.
Perhaps Xilinx Easypath? You see there are several companies who off fpga conversion "ASICs", I don't know them all.

You are wrong again, ElectricMucus. The few times I have made predictions(*) against "mainstream thoughts" in the Bitcoin world, I have always been right, and I will tell you: I predict SC is not based on a FPGA-to-ASIC chip.

(*) Just a few examples: I correctly estimated HD 7000's MHash per Joule before release, from theoretical computations based on its known process node. I correctly predicted pirateat40 was running a Ponzi when many refused to believe. I correctly predicted 65nm for the SC lineup. And I seem to be on a path to win my SC mining efficiency bet when people where ignorant enough to bet 50 BTC against me.

^ Prepare yourself to be appended to this list in the near future. I have the track record to justify my confidence Smiley
1005  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Best demonstrated efficiency: 122 Mhash/Joule on: November 07, 2012, 04:56:37 AM
The Block Erupter 130nm project now claims an estimate of 122 Mhash/Joule: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=91173.msg1072887#msg1072887

This is such an improvement, that ~500 Mhash/Joule should be possible at 65nm. Combined with the fact that BFL disclosed that Jalapenos will be wall-powered, after all, I think this makes it very, very likely that BFL is developing at 65nm and not 45nm.

I was right. One. More. Time. I correctly predicted 65nm and BFL confirmed it.

I start negotiations by adding shipping costs to my prices. Then we negotiate from there. Shoot me an email with your shipping address. m.bevand at gmail.com

Still up but I am going to crash into bed now.

I just sold 7 PSUs, 5 mobos. Updated remaining items in OP.

Yes I did, Panda. I replied to your email.
1010  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Seasonic PSU's and powering ASIC's on: November 06, 2012, 07:00:15 AM
Tom said a 1000W PSU should be able to power 8-10 bASIC units.
This means that those who bought a round amount of 10 units who want to be absolutely sure that a single PSU will be sufficient need to have a 1200W PSU or higher.

For that reason I recommend the Corsair AX1200. Every reviewer absolutely raves about it. Its only inconvenient? It is a bit expensive. Oh wait... someone is selling 20 units here for only $200 Smiley

To all interested buyers: DO NOT SEND ME MONEY UNTIL WE HAVE A FINAL AGREEMENT ON PAYMENT AND SHIPPING. Doing so will only frustrate me to work around the details and "make it right".
1012  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTB] Bitcoin Magazine Issue #1 on: November 06, 2012, 04:36:10 AM
I'll sell one for 4 btc...I'll cover shipping.

2.6 BTC.
I am hesitant to bid more because Vladimir said he might print another batch of this issue.

how much for 20 18 of the mobos, 20 of the psus, and 23 15 of the 5970s?

stock is 1.05v presumably?

I made you an offer privately.

For a transaction of this size, I would require payment in BTC, since it will almost surely trigger all sorts of alerts in Paypal.
Also I would prefer local pickup in the Los Angeles area (so cash is possible) as the 20 PSUs alone in their boxes weight 160 lb total (8 lb each).

Yes 5970 is at stock 1.05v and I have been running them at stock voltage & clocks.

what brand are those 6990's?  i have a powercolor 6990 and would like to get another.  i dont think i can get the money till the end of the month, hopefully youll have some left.

It does not matter, they are all technically identical reference models from AMD. Only the sticker changes from card to card.

But if you care, they are all Sapphire and Visiontek.

I have sold 8 5970s and 1 6990. Updated OP with remaining quantities.
1020  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS - SOLD OUT] Defective 5970s on: November 04, 2012, 09:02:19 AM
I have 5 defective 5970 for sale. Everything has been sold out.

A machine POSTs just fine with them. They are detected by the OS. cgminer starts mining, but they hang right away or within minutes or hours. Often, the whole machine must be rebooted to continue to use the card.

I am asking 4 BTC each, shipped anywhere in the US.

I also have fully working cards for sale.
