I didn't do too bad this round getting 8.5 points and coming 30th out of 50 but still ended up rock bottom on the table  Grin. I didn't bother watching the Liverpool game as I thought it would be boring and an safe Liverpool win. What happened to them? Nobody picked the Villa win and only one person went for the draw. Villa are now second in the table with a game in hand. Everton are in first place right now and they've playing Liverpool in the first game next round. Now that will be a game to watch.

There's no games until the 17th now because of the crappy international break.
1002  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: October 04, 2020, 12:06:55 PM
I am not watching Leicester vs West Ham match but what is going on? Leicester are 2 down, only two users got them to win and it seems majority of us will walk away without any point in this match.

I'm watching it. West Ham are just the better team and Leicester have been lacklustre. Annoying as I only needed Leicester to win for my five fold but doubt that will be coming in unless Leicester can turn things around pretty quickly in the first half.

Leeds were getting better starting at the last 10 mins of the first half.
I am already considering my side bet with cryptofrka as a lose bet. I did not have much idea about this Leeds team in the beginning LOL

I'm a Leeds fan but I had them pegged to be a relegation favourite. If they keep playing like they have been then there's no reason why they can't do really well this season. A point against City and nearly one against Liverpool is pretty good going.
1003  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: October 03, 2020, 06:37:57 PM
No correct scores yet but I've got all the outcomes right so far today. I'm surprised only two other people went for the draw on the Leeds/City game as Leeds have been playing pretty well in my opinion. Three backed Leeds to win and the rest was City away wins. City dominated the first half but I think Leeds were the better team in the second, though they started to struggle towards the end but got the deserved point.
1004  Other / Meta / Re: Don't send PMs begging for merits. on: October 01, 2020, 02:30:40 PM
I can't count any more PMs coming in for me.

I have just the opposite experience, no one has ever asked me for any service related to merit - neither to give them away, nor to sell them. Maybe the thing is that those who do it target merit sources or have some other criteria that my profile doesn't meet Roll Eyes

It's very hard for an average poster to rise through the ranks, hell, even a decent poster probably won't achieve the sufficient merit to become a Hero within the timeframe it takes to get the required activity so skipping the queue by donating seems like a win-win to me.

Maybe then it's time to modify the current requirements, which are obviously too difficult for most new and some old members. If 1000 merits is the current request for Legendary rank, maybe we should lower it to 750, and Hero from 500 to maybe 350 or 400 merits. Of course, the question arises what to do with lower ranks, because in my opinion Jr. Member is very easy to reach, just like Member (1 - 10 merits) but even 10 times more is needed for Full Member rank which is too much in my opinion.

Maybe the ranks could be tweaked a bit. Legendary should probably follow the other ranks at 750 merit and in doubling with every one. I'd like to see an additional rank for those very high merited users. Some other perks would be nice.

It's very hard for an average poster to rise through the ranks, hell, even a decent poster probably won't achieve the sufficient merit to become a Hero within the timeframe it takes to get the required activity (...)

What most people don't understand is that life's too short to care too much about Merit. I've often wondered how much money and energy people lose when they spend their time desperately posting spam and begging for Merit and coins, instead of putting that time and energy in a real-life job with a real-life income (fiat of course, but at least it's better than nothing except for a lot of frustrations and in the end seeing your modest profile getting banned for spamming or begging).

People should come to these boards to learn, participate (that's not a synonym of shitpost) and have a good time (probably in that order).

That's like saying life's too short to care about money or a promotion at work. It's those things that often give people a better life so that's why they desire them as ranks here = promotion and more merit = more money and time saved if they can get it. The majority of people who spend their time here desperately trying to achieve ranks or earn from from campaigns are probably doing it because it's one of their better options. Would you rather be unemployed or do back-breaking menial work when you can get paid from the comfort of your own home for doing some posting? Some signature campaigns pay a good amount of money and if you're from the developing world getting on a campaign like Chipmixer might be life-changing money so that's why people are desperate for merit/ranks as it means more money for them. If most of these people had better options they'd probably be doing them but sadly they likely don't.
1005  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: October 01, 2020, 10:26:43 AM
Leeds vs Man City should he a really good tame, obviously City are the better team but desire, hunger & passion can overcome more talented teams sometimes. If you play this game 10 time City probably win 8 of them but Leeds have a chance, they’re such a hungry team, the fight for every ball.

I would have said City are the better team over Leicester but they turned them over and Leeds very much deserved a point from the Liverpool game. If it wasn't for the two penalties they arguably would have got the full 3. Hopefully Leeds can take advantage of City's weakened team and recent performance. Leeds are playing Leicester at home at the end of the month as well and that will be another potentially great game.
1006  Other / Meta / Re: Don't send PMs begging for merits. on: October 01, 2020, 10:05:07 AM
I still really think we should add more donator ranks so things like this are less likely to happen and people can just buy themselves the equivalent rank rather than beg and fish for merits with threads created solely to try receive merit. It's counter-productive when that happens.

I would prefer modifying copper member, such as silver and gold member rather than donator which have fixed costs.

More donator ranks as in new, different ones ie Silver and Gold Member etc.

I don't believe that buying high ranking accounts is good. It tends to bypass the selection process, and it is a bit confusing for members. However, lets say a senior exec from a £10billon exchange wants to join - should he have to start as a newbie, when he clearly isn't a Bitcoin newbie?  I would suggest a new rank of "sponsor", and it would be up to Theymos to decide if an applicant is suitable. Posting and advertising rights could be based on either payment, or the status of the sponsor's organisation.

I'm not suggesting people buy accounts or even the current user ranks but the benefits thereof ie you buy a Silver Membership which gets you the benefits of Full Member and Gold gets you the benefits of a Hero or something. You'd still be a Newbie or whatever just with the additional title. It's very hard for an average poster to rise through the ranks, hell, even a decent poster probably won't achieve the sufficient merit to become a Hero within the timeframe it takes to get the required activity so skipping the queue by donating seems like a win-win to me.
1007  Other / Meta / Re: Don't send PMs begging for merits. on: October 01, 2020, 09:36:42 AM
Good for you guys for being really tolerant for stuff like this. On a bad day, I could probably see myself publicizing their PMs lol. Thankfully I haven't received any spam emails for a while though, so there's that.

but it seems to be the mid ranking members that do this.
Now this is the quite surprising part.

Seems some people are getting desperate to rank up as a couple of people have messaged me recently as well as a couple of people reporting unsolicited PMs. I usually just ignore the messages but people need to be really careful as this can easily backfire and they can end up tarnishing their account. I still really think we should add more donator ranks so things like this are less likely to happen and people can just buy themselves the equivalent rank rather than beg and fish for merits with threads created solely to try receive merit. It's counter-productive when that happens.
1008  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: October 01, 2020, 09:25:47 AM
Tottenham's match against Man U. will be the most exciting match in this month . Both  teams are strong . Anything will be happen in this match . But i think Tottenham would like to  draw this match . Because their other opponents in this month are relatively easy teams .

Dude, this is not a high quality match any more. Man Utd are a pale shadow of the team they once were. Spurs are just, well, Spurs. They never win anything. It’s an important match for both teams to try & get points towards a fight to squeeze into the top 4 but neither team will get anywhere near the title. They can try & get 4th or something, it’s far from the most exciting match of the month.

Who knows which Spurs and Manchester teams turn up. Both teams are unpredictable. Spurs are playing their second game this week tonight so that should be taken into consideration. I think it's worth a watch either way. Could be a lot of goals. I think I'll got for 2-2 but wait for the line-ups and score from tonight's game. The must watch game for me though is Leeds/City. Could be a lot of goals in that one too and will be interesting to see how Leeds get on. If they can play well against them and grab a point or three I think they can do anything this season especially after their performance against Liverpool. City have a weekend team right now so they can certainly take advantage of that.
1009  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: September 30, 2020, 12:55:24 PM
Tonight it is Lampard's time to show that all those money spend are worth it.
Beating Tottenham is going to be a strong message to all the haters that do not believe that this season's signings will help Chelsea reaching to a title win this season...
I am going to bet for Chelsea's win for @1,70 odds.
Is Bale ready for this game? Otherwise I am curious to see if the 3 mystery will continue or not  Tongue

Bale is out for at least a month. They could do with him this week though as Spurs have three games this week. I was going to back a draw with their game against Man United on Sunday but with it being away and their third game in six days they might struggle.

I think he will be a big disappointment for the Spurs, he is not the same player he was when he left and I mean that more regarding to his level of commitment to the football then his actual football prowess. I am just watching the game and every time camera zoomed to him (only twice to be fair) he is on his mobile and doesn't even watch the game. That shows how much his team mates and club mean to him and that is a habit he got in Real. He is getting good money, he could at least look like he gives a damn Smiley

People shouldn't expect too much from him but Madrid barely played him so it's hard to judge what form he's in right now but he looked pretty good in the CL final a couple of years ago where he scored one of it not the best greatest CL final goal of all time. I'm looking forward to him playing anyway.

I love watching this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZKF9HCRMvQ

It's like a scene out of a movie. The music is weirdly perfect.

^^
It is a decent card, i am rooting for Holly Holm and Germaine de Randamie, the rest of the card i need to study carefully.

Seems average at best to me. Holm is pretty much the only fighter I'd be interested in watching. There's not really any cards I'm super interested in until UFC 254 with Khabib/Gaethje to be honest.

McGregor has said that his next fight will be Vs Manny Pacquiao. I'll believe that when I see it but if he's interested in fighting again he should just get back to the UFC. I'm sure Dana will be more than happy to give him some big fights.

As Trofo said, the weekly yellow caps mean a lot more this season as the $50 free bet is quite lucrative. I will probably do at least one consolation prize for the highest yellow cap scorer overall as well and maybe even pay a couple of places, but I'm waiting till everyone has paid before I announce them so I know what budget we've got.

I forgot for a $50 bonus per yellow cap  Wink

@hilariousetc I'm not sure you saw it, but the user BitSat19 is banned a few days ago. I see that he is still active on Superbru pool and I'm not sure how to manage cases like this. I have nothing against them to stay there but it can be a little bit complicated if they win something.

No, I didn't see it but figured it was only a matter of time before someone spotted he was ban evading. A few people were banned last year during the pool but it doesn't really matter. They can contact me via superbru if they win anything. Bitsat is one of the players that hasn't paid yet though so if he doesn't by the 12th he'll be removed anyway.

yet I am a little surprised that you hilariousetc have won so few points if we know you won "the most points in one round" last season.

Easily the worst I've ever done. It was a crazy round for sure.

I am not sure why is this discussion so important, we have 37 rounds in remaining and a lot of points is here.

Finished with round 3, so at least with the betting Grin
The last weekend has somehow passed me by. Had a good feeling but in the end I fell back 7 ranks.

I am looking forward to these 2 matches and wish us an exciting matchday:
Quote
Man. City vs. Leicester
Liverpool vs. Arsenal

They've already been played, unless you mean you're going to watch them  Grin.

Arsenal showed some good playing performance in the first half of the game. They managed to score a goal and by the time the game was on 1-1 score I thought that they are going to get some points out of this game.
Unfortunately, they conceded another goal and then another one and when the Gunners were unable to react on the 3-1 score.

Arsenal showed Liverpool too much respect, they set up to play like a team at the bottom of the table. They play far too defensive & just ask Liverpool to attack them. Liverpool could have scored many more goals.

They tried this as a strategy which proved to be completely the wrong one.If they had attacked I think they would have played a better open game but I think the result would be like 6-2 for Liverpool then.Yesterday Liverpool showed that it is still the top contender to win the Premier League again this year.

They probably will do as Chelsea and City have disappointed so far and I thought they'd be serious contenders this year. Maybe we'll have an unexpected winner this season. Leicester and Everton have all played well and are the only teams to win all three games so far. Leeds have impressed as well. Not suggesting they'll challenge for the title but they've done better than expected and were unlucky not to get a point from the Liverpool game. The game against Man City this upcoming weekend will be a big test for them but I feel they can win it the way City have been playing. There could be a lot of goals from both sides in that match much like the Liverpool fixture.

Dreadful week for me this week - a big fat 0 points ! Smiley I honestly didn’t think my picks were that bad !!
On a positive if I can manage somehow to get 0pts in one round,  I reckon I can somehow get 25 pts In another round  Smiley I’m trying to remain positive . ONWARDS AND UPWARDS ffs

Well I didn't think mine were either but I only managed 1.5 from the Liverpool game. It was just a crazy week with a lot of upsets. Remember there were two matches where nobody picked the outcome at all.

Looks like aralmuus won the yellow hat this Week 3 and I think he already won it before right? So well done to you mate!

Don't think so. It was fortebet and rdbase:

Congrats to @fortebet, you had a nice round, I was quite good, but you smashed it  Cool

So hard to climb back up,,, I really messed up with a lot of missed exact scores, did not ever think we would see 1-0 and 1-1 when the past two weeks were full of goals! Jota also messed up by 2-1 prediction:)

It's only the third round so where you are now doesn't mean much and I'm sure the table will look completely different by the end. Everyone will have bad weeks or runs. All you can do is your best but I wouldn't worry too much about where you are in the table right now. A few correct scores and you'll soon start to climb up the table.
1015  Other / Meta / Re: Question to admins: How to I do this right? on: September 28, 2020, 01:53:48 PM
The problem with KYC is that many gamblers will not want to do that. Even though that is a common practice on fiat-based casinos. On fiat-based casinos they have no choice, you have to verify both your identity and address soon after registering your account.

I have mixed feelings about the results because I think there might be a mistake, especially for the casinos where IPs for 2 countries were blocked but 1 wasn't. Or the other way around. I could access the site from 2 restricted locations, but couldn't from a 3rd.

I'm sure they won't want to do that and that's why it should be stated upfront if it's required, as many people will just assume it's not needed only then to be annoyingly blocked when they win and try cashout which isn't fair. I feel like casinos should be upfront about this regardless of if it turns people away or not. They're only going to turn many more away when this happens or if there's uncertainty.
1016  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: September 28, 2020, 11:17:41 AM
2 games will be played today between Fullham - Aston Villa and Liverpool - Arsenal.
The first game is very unpredictable, odds are slightly better for Villa x2.55 vs x2.95...
For Liverpool game odds are way different with x1.55 vs x5.6 for Arsenal! I don't know why it is so big, gunners played good lately and with shit happening in the previous days everything is possible!
I dunno but I feel like Fullham and LFC will win their games.

Fulham and Villa are both candidates to leave Premier league this season, and I would predict draw in this match, but would not put that on the ticket

on the other hand, Liverpool quote is too good, even that Arsenal played well at the start of the season, Liverpool is a strong favorite in this match, and i think that they will win, could not say how many goals, but both-to-score could be a good option as well, since both teams are scoring well, but Liverpool to win is a stronger option IMO

I predict a boring match and maybe they'll cancel each other out. Gone for a draw on the PL predictor. I certainly can't back a favourite, though maybe there's a slight home advantage and Villa did beat Sheff United at home on their first game.

I’m reading that Alisson & Thiago might miss the game through injury tonight, I’ll be disappointed if that’s true. Apparently they both have a late fitness test today to check on their availability for tonight.

I still think we’ll (LFC) win but would be great to see Thiago make his home debut. Adrian worries me so hope Alisson is fit.

Great  Roll Eyes. That would make the match even harder to predict. I also think Liverpool should win though a draw wouldn't surprise me but I'm still going to back the home side. Arsenal have won all their games so far but haven't really been against any decent teams, both arguable relegation favourites or certainly contenders.
1017  Other / Meta / Re: Question to admins: How to I do this right? on: September 28, 2020, 11:10:21 AM
Their life will be hard when people are constantly complaining about not being able to withdraw funds and I'm seeing this more and more.
You missed my point. Life becoming hard in terms of making less money, not having the hassle of facing complaints. These casinos are happy to face all the fights and complaints against them because they know they have their defence ready. They always hide them behind their T&C.

lose enough percentage of clients that will make their life hard (not making much money).

I think you miss my point as well: more complaints and scam accusations = less money fore them as well (including tarnished reputations). The whole point of using bitcoin casinos is to not have to go through KYC. If they're going to demand it after a win then more people will just stay away and I would advise them to do so if they're demanding this information only after an attempted cash out.

Quote
They should either be using KYC properly and requesting it upon sign-up or not at all. I think most if not all legit sites will make you set up KYC before you can even proceed in the first place. A bank wouldn't let you create an account then ask for KYC after you've deposited or tried to withdraw money. Bitcoin sites shouldn't be knowingly let you play from an excluded country then asking for KYC as a barrier to withdrawal as this is just giving them an opportunity to not pay out. If this becomes common it's only a matter of time before someone is due a huge pay out and the casino blocks it through this loophole just because they don't want to take their loss. Their reputations will quickly become tarnished if this is so.
I am pretty sure you do not visit the scam accusation board more often or you would know that we who get involve with resolving the cases arrives in the forum - we all say the same but none of them cares. They won't care since this will reduce the money they get from this grey source.

If this has become common practice then people should push for change and react accordingly if casinos are abusing this to withhold money from people.
1018  Other / Meta / Re: Question to admins: How to I do this right? on: September 28, 2020, 09:41:59 AM
If some sort of kyc is going to be involved then they should have to do this at the start and not when they try to withdraw money as it seems like a loophole the casinos can choose to exploit when they want.
The casinos are not going to do this. Imagine they are doing this (doing KYC at the start) and in that case they will lose enough percentage of clients that will make their life hard (not making much money). I can't imagine how much money they earn from these users. In scam accusation board we see users are complaining regularly that their account has been frozen, money seized etc. Most of the time these casinos are only refunding the deposits and taking the winnings.

Their life will be hard when people are constantly complaining about not being able to withdraw funds and I'm seeing this more and more. They should either be using KYC properly and requesting it upon sign-up or not at all. I think most if not all legit sites will make you set up KYC before you can even proceed in the first place. I'm on zero points so far. Surely Liverpool can beat Arsenal to get me point? Fulham and Villa is hard to predict a winner. I don't think there will be many goals but who knows with this crazy round.

I don't understand why is VAR so bad in Premier League. Many leagues implemented VAR and it is working better in most if not all of them. VAR was a joke in last PL season and it is continuing in the same way. We have this situation today, then we have a penalty after final whistle for United yesterday and by my judgment worst VAR mistake this season - 3rd goal from Chelsea. If the ball just touches the striker on the arm it is always no goal rule and then yesterday with all the cameras and VAR, ball hits Havertz straight in the arm and ref judges the goal regular. Stuff like that just can't happen.

It seriously needs to be reviewed. Even the Newcastle boss Steve Bruce said it was a silly decision. It's taking far too much time out of the game which was already a problem and now they've made it worse as refs have started going over to the touchline to watch 5 minutes of replays from every conceivable angle. Firstly, I don't think every goal should be checked. What's the point going looking for something or penalising someone because the lace of his boot was offside? If you have to zoom in and start putting computer generated grids on the pitch to see if someone was a millimetre offside then it's going too far and is obviously overkill. Many players don't even celebrate now because there's a good chance of VAR overruling it for something. If nobody's spotted anything or the opposite team isn't complaining what's the problem? Let a team have 3 appeals per game like in tennis. That would cut down on any false claims and only legit ones would be challenged.

The thing is is that certain things are still open to interpretation like a 'clear and obvious error' and the hands being in an 'unnatural' position. Well what the hell is an unnatural position? Your hands naturally should be straight down your sides but obviously not when running. Or jumping. When you jump your use your hands to propel yourself up, so it's natural for your hands to be stretched out as balance or above your head. Take a look at when defenders put their hands behind their backs to try avoid the ball hitting them. Ironically doing that makes them not in a natural position because nobody does that when running or playing football, so what if the ball hits their hand behind their back when they turn their back to avoid getting hit in the face which many of them now do (and ironically they're not able to use their hands to protect their face). Is that handball when you're not even looking at the ball? I've seen them given. Many attackers often take advantage of the defender having his arms behind him as he's off balance and they can easily move past them instead of crossing it in.

Spurs were so much better today and they needed to put this game to rest much sooner. Did you guys see Maherz goal for City? Goal of the season so far for me, especially since it is his weaker right foot Smiley

Yeah, it was good but it seemed more like a reckless swing at it and hope for the best. I think both Vardy's cheeky flick and Madison's goal in the Leicester game were better.

If somebody told me that wolves would lose 4:0 against West Ham I would call him crazy. For me this is a bigger shock then Chelsea draw against WBA or even City loosing to Leicester. Wolves are just so solid and I can't imagine anybody putting 4 goals past them, not even City or LFC let alone some other club. I am sure West ham will be one of the clubs with least clean sheets come end of the season so this 4:0 result is really off the charts.

Not a single person even backed the West Ham home win which is bizarre. I went with a low scoring 1-1 draw but I'm surprised nobody had a faith in the home win.

So maybe it is Hero and above. Maybe it should be lowered or the restriction removed, but I suppose people can move just move their thread there.
You can't if you are not allowed to post there on the first place: "You are not allowed to move topics there."

Weird. I can move threads there on this account. There must be some sort of restrictions on who can, but Junior Members are now popping up claiming they can do it so not sure who it's limited to. Maybe it's an error or a bug.
