You should know that no one else has the mind capable of crunching the numbers that Proudhon does. He is a god among mathematicians.

That is true. People say Niels Bohr and Max Planck are the founding fathers of quantum physics but I know better. I know it was Proudhon.

Proudhon was a filthy leftist socialist. Don't put him anywhere near my beloved physics.

I actually had no clue broken tiles were so sharp, it was like a razor. Smiley

That shiny surface is glass. It all follows from there.

I know this sounds crazy for many of you. But I wanna think further than tomorrow. And wanna secure my future. I am not willing to let these people control my life. And I wont give them everything I own. So better I blow everything I have into shit. Or find a way out.

Owning shit isn't going to help you much either. It just depends what you want to protect against. There are several levels of things that can go wrong.

  • The MSM (even those that think they are the good guys) are useless if not rightout means of propaganda for those in power.

Everyone thinks they're the good guys. It's the ones that override classical liberal principles for "the greater good" or for "by any means necessary" that are the problem.

Quote
“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”

Well shit I just sliced my goddamn toe and blood everywhere!

I dropped a hammer on the tile and have been too busy (lets call it busy because I hate to admit to being lazy!) and was soaked after a shower and just slipped right into the sharp edge dammit.

Toes Bleed ALOT!!!

I cut my hand badly on a tile doing bathroom reno once. Definitely not fun and I was on a time crunch so it was just wrap it in a bunch of tissue paper and keep going. I got some sturdy gloves ASAP after that.

Are we expecting McDonalds to set up a lightning wallet for their cashier to handle all of the money for that day, and then expect the cashier to make the choice between handing that wallet over to the owners at the end of the day or just quit with more than they would make in a year?

I would imagine the idea would be the POS would present a QR code to the customer and would monitor the payment in progress. No need for the cashier to be in possession of anything at any time. How funds are disbursed once received by the corporation is a different question entirely.

The idea was that home cooks could take orders or have a large meal cooked and put it on the app. People order the food like on any other food app and some delivery service comes and picks it up and delivers it. This would be for people looking to make a bit of extra money, people like my mom who like to make cookies but could never eat as many as she cooks so she just gives them away, people like my wife who can cook a five star meal but don't want to be running a restaurant with all of the headaches that come with it. Or even someone with 3 kids that is cooking a recipe that can easily add 2 or 3 more servings to send off on a delivery for a bit of spending money.

Then I checked the laws in the US and no state allows you to sell food made at home. There are some very limited exceptions such as granola bars or some shit like that.

One more thing to look forward to when it all collapses though. Home delivery of some nice old lady's chocolate cookies and side businesses for the home cooks out there.

It depends on the food and the quantity. However, it is possible to rent kitchens which would probably work well with your app. In fact, you could potentially make that part of the business. Rent the kitchen, provide the virtual storefront, take a decent sized share of the income.

They terminated 80 accounts +-, but yeah obviously some wash trades went by.  As for the above comment, I dont agree as hunting down and murdering all other participants would be a good reason to terminate your accounts, considering wash trades and killing people are both illegal.
edit: im saying there are base rules that dont need specifying ?

Fair enough if they're illegal, I guess.

Thought it may be interesting to note for those who dont know...There was an airdrop for dydx layer 2 dex, you had to trade a certain amount during august or something, etc.  Someone did 1.7 BILLION in wash trades, paid like 3 million in fees, etc, to game the airdrop with multiple accounts and get a huge share of the tokens awarded.  it was so blatant and obvious that they just deleted him (keeping the fees of course) from the airdrop.   Grin
not promoting the exchange or anything, just put a smile to my face.

Nothing says "trustworthy" like having people play by rules and then changing them when you don't like the results.

That's true. I worked extensively with MIDI,sequencing and SMPTE sync starting in 1986. The MIDI 1.0 spec would let you send note-on and note-off for "notes" designated 0-127. The receiving synth could then apply the note numbers to whatever sound(s) the operator chose.

By nature a Theremin is all 'swoopy' and never has perfect steps between notes (see the chorus on Beach Boy's "Good Vibrations"). MIDI additionally lets you change filters, velocity, and all sorts of computery music things. The MIDI 2.0 standard was introduced at the 2020 Winter NAMM show, but I haven't kept up.

I was around a Theremin once. Since I knew nothing about really playing it, beyond 'this hand is pitch and this hand is volume' all I could do was make strange science fiction noises.

Yep. I was looking into it a while back for the possibility of creating open source MIDI drums but realized it was probably far too big a project for what I was looking to get out of it.

I met an adjunct professor in the cafeteria completely randomly.  He was not currently teaching, but he had a love for electronic music and prog rock which I also liked.  His name was Bob.  We become fast friends, and would meet for lunch often over the next several weeks.  He liked to talk about what I wanted to do with music, and he also told me lots about some of the crazy projects he was doing.  At the time he was working out the idea for a Theramin ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theremin ).  He was wanting to build one that sent MIDI.  I told him I thought this was super cool, and that I would want one myself, but that I thought it would be a niche instrument at best.

From what little I know about MIDI, it's not really suitable for such a task.

You just gave me an idea. We could start a "Bitcoin School" where we could teach newbies about bitcoin, mining, blockchain and so on. A lot of people aren't getting far with DYOR (in fact it steers them towards shitcoins and scams where they lose their interest for crypto all together). People need mentors. This would also promote Bitcoin adoption.

What do you guys think? Would anyone be willing to start something like that with me?

Sadly, most noobs don't really care. There's a cartoon (which I can't find now) with a booth with "when to buy and sell" and a huge line of people and one with "financial planning" with nobody. That's where we are. I used to go to a Bitcoin meetup and when the price was on the up, it would be packed and when the price was quiet, we'd be lucky to get three people. People just want to know how to get rich quick and believe Bitcoin is yesterday's news (it's not). You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink.

Rick is retiring on Tuesday.

If movies have taught me anything, this is the most dangerous time in his life. That and that an 100lb woman can kick a 300lb guy clear across a room.

I've seen certain race cars that got a full tank of gas from a year ago, and it would not start. Some of the guys there said, it had to do with Octane. And gasoline does not keep it, it kinda "evaporates", so the engine would start making knocking noises.

Open container (which I consider vehicle fuel tanks to be) and all bets are off. Race cars are no doubt pretty temperamental beasts too.

i thought it absorbed water or something. even with fuel stabilizer it wont last really. hate it as i keeo a good reserve of gas for the generators, as much as i rotate and try to blend old and new i have found gas thats iffy when used. and thats NOT want you want to hear in your genset powering your house after a disaster.

may go with phils idea and buy a new genset that runs both LP and gas, i think there may be retorfit kits too,, unsure.

Yes, basically that. If you can find a place that sells ethanol free gas, I recommend that. It's all I put in my small engines anymore.

As to generators, diesel is kind-of the gold standard. The fuel is stable and cheap, safe and easy to store and in a pinch, you can often use things like vegetable oil. I'm not sure of the regs but you might be able to use farm diesel too.
