1041  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The new Faketoshi strikes again! on: November 28, 2019, 09:05:14 AM
Jorg Molt was recently ridiculed on Twitter for claiming to be a co-founder of Bitcoin despite no one ever hearing of him. Today, he tweeted that Bitcoin’s price should recover because he just made an apparently large purchase.

Early this month, BeInCrypto reported on a new ‘fake Satoshi’ named Jorg Molt. Introduced at the SIMS convention at Symbiosis International University as the ‘co-founder of Bitcoin,’ Molt has since then stuck by his story. Despite being ridiculed on crypto-Twitter and beyond, Molt maintains he was present at Bitcoin’s founding, and subsequently claims to own 250,000 BTC.

Source link here

The first time I heard of the new Faketoshi himself, Jorg Molt, he was confronted by my man, I repeat! My man! Ken Bozak. Ken was in a blockchain conference where he took a video of himself pointing to Jorg Molt, the self-proclaimed new Faketoshi, saying that he is a scammer. I just watched his entire clip on Twitter, where they even took Ken's cap.

My man, Ken Bozak, was brave enough to do this to really expose Jorg "The New Faketoshi" Molt. I met Ken personally at Token 2049 Hongkong, and he was a fun guy to talk to.

So the new Faketoshi claims that he owned a whooping 250,000 BTC? Are you freaking kidding me man! Since I'm active in conferences, I would not hesitate to take a selfie with Faketoshi saying "I'm a huge basher of yours!" before pressing the button.
I am not sure why they said all the claimers as satoshis are fake. Do they or someone knows the real identity of satoshi?

This kind of arguments are being argued again and again. In my opinion the real satoshi has a reason why he didn't reveal his identity, so maybe this is the basis of others why they says that the claimers are all fakesatoshis.
1042  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You think terrorist groups around the world use Cryptos as a means of payment? on: November 28, 2019, 07:12:46 AM
Considering that there are still many terrorist groups or insurgents groups around the world right now fighting with weapons that probably cost a lot. Do you guys think that they use cryptocurrencies in order to fund their armies or do they stick with trading with cash or trading valuable resources that they have?

I would not be surprised if they do trade with cryptocurrency considering that cryptocurrencies are really hard to trace compared to the conventional means of trading such as cash or valuable resources. Unless their funders don’t really accept cryptocurrency and they stick with the older methods of payment.

By the way, just to make it clear. I am not in any way planning to make a terrorist group or insurgency, I am just asking out of curiosity as I can see that those terrorist groups or insurgencies in the news must get their funding from somewhere and I was wondering what means do they use to trade for their equipment.

Terrorist movement is very difficult to trace especially that most of the terrorist were funded by the government officials or to its opposition.

But if they have means of cashing out and cashing in the crypto currencies then they will surely use it as the government has difficulty in tracing the crypto transactions.
1043  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 💩 We are now in the “shitcoin” season? 💩 on: November 28, 2019, 02:01:01 AM
We are now in the “ALTCOIN” season.
Do you agree gals?

I DECLARE yes
We are now in the “shitcoin” season.

Why?

1. BTC has dumped.  The 2019 bull is dead.  The 2017 peak will be the ATH for a very long time, like until the next next halving hype cycle, 2023.
2. Value has gotta move.  It's either shit "stable" $1 coins.  Or "shitcoins".
3. You can't pump stable coins.

https://twitter.com/davthewave/status/1187261630653980672/photo/1

I cannot fully agree with you, even if we were not able to hit the bull run this year but it doesn't mean that the bull is dead. There is always a right time for it and even professional traders cannot predict correctly when it will happen.

Bull and bear and only two sides of the market, meaning if we are still in bear right now then the bull can start anytime when the trigger will be pulled by the big whales out there.
1044  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: No matter how successful a bounty project is...... on: November 27, 2019, 04:03:59 PM
No matter how successful bounty project is, if participants are way too much and the bounty campaign has no limits you will all get too low rewards, this is where many are confused and complains that they only get 10$ from bounty after weeks of working, apart from price dumps this is another thing you should set your eye on.

Assuming a bounty pool worth 100k and thousands are waiting to get their shares please learn to use calculator sometimes, no matter how long the weeks are what you will get will be unsatisfying already.

That is the reason that you need to be keen on what project you want to support on and how you are going to participate to it. For example, if you see a project that has potential then the good thing that you should do is to be first so you have a good advantage at the end of the bounty campaign.

The next thing to put in your mind is to target the bounty campaign that offers a better percentage. For example, most of the campaigns are putting more percentage on either signature, video or blog campaign. And translation also is the best option as you can surely get a good amount of reward at the end of the campaign if in case you will be chosen as their local translators.
1045  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Upbit exchange was hacked. 342,000 ETH lost on: November 27, 2019, 03:17:03 PM
At 13:06 on November 27, 2019, 342,000 ETH (approximately 58 billion won) were transferred from the Ethereum Hot Wallet to an unknown wallet.
UpBit says it will cover losses worth $51.3 million with corporate funds.

Unknown wallet address: 0xa09871AEadF4994Ca12f5c0b6056BBd1d343c029

https://upbit.com/service_center/notice?id=1085

UPD1: It is also rumored to have additionally stolen BTT worth more than $ 3.5 million and TRX worth more than $ 17 million. Perhaps this will be announced later. After the withdrawal of ETH to unknown wallets from the exchange, BTT with TRX moved to unknown wallets.

UPD2: Funds in the amount of 342,000 ETH were stolen from the Upbit wallet, funds began to be received again, in different amounts, it seems from the exchange team. A logical question arises. Why replenish an already compromised wallet? Hacked wallet balance already - 4.726 ETH

So the hacker are still doing their job to bypass the security of big exchanges. At first, it was binance and now Upbit.

This kind of happenings are kinda bad to crypto society especially to the investors as they don't know when their money will be stolen because even the big exchanges with high level of securities have been bypass by the hackers. It will be good if there will be counters that can be put against them aside from tight security.
1046  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IEO: A professional scam on: November 25, 2019, 04:58:31 AM
A lot has been said about IEO. Many seeing IEO as a way out in cryptocurreny, hmmmm..... is that it? don't be fooled. Many of the so-called big exchange have enriched themselves through IEO. Why do you think some projects from nowhere conducted their IEO on these so-called big exchange, it will shock you to know that a reasonable amount of these tokens are going to the exchange and the exchange is ready to dump on you the moment the token is listed or after some pump. They encourage you to hodl but they will not hodl. It is all about pump and dump. You may want to argue because you have benefited one out of many times. Have you asked yourself, how many were able to buy at IEO, they want you to come and buy on the exchange after making it look like a sold out, why sold so little at IEO when you have buck of it in store? Professional scam.....Believe me, there is more to IEO on big exchange than you can imagine. Be wise.
Investors are not noob and they know what they are doing. Do you think, investors will keep on investing in IEO's if they are not profiting to it?
That is how the it works, if the project owners and big exchanges will benefit from from IEO's then investors will also benefit.

The losers are those investors who didn't think wisely, from the start we know that this kind of investment has a risk but if you know how to play with it then you can lessen the risk or even gain a big profit from being part of successful IEO's.
1047  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IEO is going to be slower ? on: November 25, 2019, 04:00:13 AM
Recently, I noticed that all the platforms are just like pausing launching new IEOs, If you notice top IEOs launcher platforms like Binance, Okex,Kucoin or Huobi, you will see a gap between 1-1.5 months. ICOs, then IEOs, then What next?
Project owners will surely think of something if in case IEO's are not suitable for fund raising already like what happened to ICO's and STO's. When the project owners think that ICO's and STO's are not good already for fund raising then they were able to launch a new technique which is IEO's.

I have no idea what will be the next option for project owners but as what I can see, IEO's are still good as of these days as the project owners was able to gather some funds from the investors even in the bear market using IEO's and once the market will bounce back again then I am pretty sure that IEO's will become more popular compare to old funding techniques which is ICO's and STO's.
1048  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I think crypto world needs... on: November 25, 2019, 02:54:08 AM
What do you think the crypto world needs at the moment? (I'm talking about projects)

In my opinion there is no real platform/website that offers everything you need. For example, news, some kind of trading tools or indicators, educational program maybe hot articles etc...

As of these moments there are plenty of projects or platforms that offers those services, ex. the trading tools can be found also in any exchanges as there are few exchanges that gives this kind of function in order to gather some users. But it will also differs on what trading tools you are currently looking.

Almost all the projects are giving unique niche to their platform so they can gather some investors because if they will just copy cat the other projects then they will already lost the investors as no one will invest to the project that were just an almost duplicate to the original one. If you are talking about a single platform that offers everything is kind of huge deal also as it is very huge to develop, an all in one package that you can get whatever you need.
1049  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How exchanges treat the stolen Money? on: November 25, 2019, 01:46:55 AM
I am curious to know, how Exchanges treat the stolen money or hack money? Are they really aware of it? Just think, your fund has been hacked and transferred from your wallet to another wallet and then it's deposited to an exchange. If you claim to the exchange about the money, Are they not responsible for taking necessary action? What do you think?
Of course the other exchange is not responsible for it instead the exchange where your money has been stolen or hacked is the one responsible for it. The same on what happened to Binance as they lost a huge amount due to leak of their security in short they were being hacked so what they did is they replace all the money that were being stolen by the hacker.

After that, I am not really sure on what is the move of Binance but what I am sure it they were not able to get back their hacked money. That is how the crypto society work.
1050  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are ICOs/IEOS/STOs generating funding in 2019? on: November 24, 2019, 06:29:02 PM
Are token sales pulling investment still, or is it dead?

Sources to facts and stats to support opinions would be great

Some IEO's that were launched in big exchanges were able to gather some funds this year but many are struggling in reaching their target. ICO's in 2019 are almost dead and was replaced by IEO's to gather some funds from the investors.

Generating funds this year is very difficult due to market condition but it cannot be considered as dead, we can consider that most of the investors right now are sleeping and they will wake up in the right time once the market will start to recover again.
1051  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Government Could Shutdown Bitcoin? on: November 24, 2019, 05:52:03 PM
I read this article online that the government could stop the Bitcoin? Easily using a simple trick.
Making the bitcoin market price staying in under a 1000$ for a long time and wait for the people to lose interest in it.

For me, this is easier said than done, making the bitcoin market price lower than 1000$ would encourage investors to invest in bitcoin that will inevitably affect the market price.

What is your opinion about this? Could the government do this?

https://bitcoinist.com/bitcoin-could-be-stopped-by-governments-pretty-simply/
Its a very cheap trick and it has very low of success rate, if I were the government's the best way to shutdown crypto currencies are to make it illegal and anyone who are still in it will be punished or put into jail.

Some countries are doing it but this scenario will not happen to all the government's as not everyone has the same reasoning as other government's are legalizing also bitcoin which is opposite in banning it.
1052  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto is one of the instrument of New World order? on: November 24, 2019, 01:27:04 PM
In the prophesy crypto is one of the instruments to implement the new world order because dollar will lost in the near future. I think we need to start talking about this, Lot of countries are preparing about the new world order and 2/two of all countries are not agree with this implementations and why crypto are involve on this issue?`first because of being losing a dollar currency. and 2 crypto are the best to manipulate the rate of money. What more?
There is a big chance that crypto is part of the evolution of money or payment system, in the near future maybe we can live in a cashless society where a cellphone or any gadgets can serve as a tool in every transaction that we are going to make.

Fiat will be replace someday as our society keeps on evolving and dollar currency will surely collapse in the near future especially if most of the governments will recognize the need of modernization especially in the payment system. Crypto right now is very volatile but if the adoption of crypto currencies will be massive then manipulating the price will be very difficult.
1053  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin The Worlds First CryptoCurrency ! What does this mean for Bitcoin now ? on: November 24, 2019, 10:47:35 AM
How Valuable is the worlds First FIAT CURRENCY Huh

How big is the world first BANK Huh

Does everyone still want the first CELLPHONE Huh

I bet no one here even knows what the first in the list above are if they did not google it...

Being first is great, you can have a nice run with a great new idea and zero competition, and make a fortune 💰💰💰   But being first has a very limited time to profit before competition with better products arrives.   Just like FIAT currencies, there are an INFINITE number of Crypto Currencies that can be created via the Blockchain.  The Blockchain is a world changing technology, but Bitcoin has no exclusive claim on it.  Bitcoin had a great run up for being first, people made fortunes, but those days have past....   Just like the assets in the above list have gone to zero an are long forgotten, we are now seeing the decline in Bitcoin.   I wonder how low it has to get before some of the " Faithful Believers " figure it out.

I have no doubt that Crypto Currencies will be the future of money, but it will not be bitcoin.  It will likely be some real asset backed Crypto, gold backed, or Petro Backed, you name it, but backed by something of real value.    Bitcoin is backed by NOTHING, do you REALLY think people will want Bitcoin when better Crypto Currencies with real backing come along Huh

You can ignore reality, but you can not ignore the consequences of ignoring reality  🤣🤣🤣🤣

Hard Facts
You have a point but you cannot predict also the moves of other big individuals who are pulling the triggers to make Bitcoin as the greatest currency even if it is backed by nothing.

Being backed by something can be very lethal as other entities can easily control the price. What I believe is that Bitcoin with backed by nothing will become the main currency in the future due to its anonymous background aside from being the mother of all cryptos.
1054  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Binance to Sue the Block and raises 200 bitcoins to fight fud. on: November 23, 2019, 12:47:35 PM
Binance is livid with it’s reputation taking a hit due to yesterday’s fud news which claimed that it’s Shangai offices were raided, and has decided to teach the Block a lesson by suing them for spreading fud news.

It’s pertinent to note that Binance CEO and Justin have decided to contribute total of 200 btc to fight fud, though there’s no clarification on how they’ll use these funds.

Now many will wonder what did sites like the block gain when they spread such fud news, well the answer is simple Traffic, their article went viral, advertisement revenues etc. In my opinion news sites should avoid sharing fud news articles, and especially articles that can damage an entire industry like we saw yesterday when bitcoins prices dropped $1000 in a matter of few hours.

While many members are able to spot fud news some are not able to spot it so how can we tackle the fud news, and help bitcoin users outside this forum because it’s high time we stopped these fud news from going viral.

Sources:

https://bitcoinist.com/binance-to-sue-the-block-for-damaging-the-exchanges-reputation/

https://mobile.twitter.com/cz_binance/status/1197720622681321472

This is very bad image of marketing even if they can gain some visitors and their articles will become viral, spreading fud news is very lazy type of blog especially if it was not backed by certain organization to spread the fuds.

Right now, I am not that sure if binance can still sue the offenders even if they are putting a huge money for it as the fuds can pop up anywhere even if you stop a certain website but it's pretty easy to create a new one and do it again. Especially if spreading the fud news were being funded by some big companies or individuals.
1055  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Millennials Increasingly Prefer Bitcoin to Gold or Real Estate on: November 23, 2019, 11:24:22 AM
British digital asset management firm CoinShares has released a report that outlines a number of trends in the Bitcoin and cryptocurrency market in 2019.

The report describes the social, political, economic, and technological forces driving cryptocurrency adoption, and the consequent trends that have materialized in the cryptocurrency market.

The report opens with the technological, economic, political, and social macro forces that have brought the cryptocurrency market to its current state.

Check out the full news here

As a millennial myself, I would highly agree with this. Although that gold and real estate are both reliable long-term investments, it's just that Bitcoin is "red hot" right now. The risks are higher though due to the volatility of the market.

To all of the millennials here in Bitcointalk, do you also agree that Bitcoin is a much better option than gold or real estate? As much as I liked real estate, the target market is kinda tough. Unlike Bitcoin, anyone can afford to buy it, even in the form of satoshis.
Of course I completely agree with it as Bitcoin or crypto currency investment are very friendly to investors as you don't need further knowledge to make an investment.

Unlike gold or real state that you need to have deep understanding to it before you can start earning from it. And the adoption of crypto currencies is keep on advancing so there is a big possibility that even if you are a holder only, you can still profit.
1056  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Peter Schiff: China’s Gold Backed Crypto is better than Bitcoin on: November 22, 2019, 11:56:37 PM
With the launch of china’s gold-backed cryptocurrency, Peter Schiff a known advocate for precious metals especially gold claim that China’s crypto will pull bitcoin price down. though Peter is a known critic of Bitcoin. Schiff had always stressed to prove bitcoin lower to gold, many of their predictions become a hoax. Recently he gave the statement indicating that Bitcoin as “backed by nothing”

Source: TheCoinRepublic

Well known critics are gaining nothing from it, instead they are only spreading useless information's to divert the investors especially that he didn't believe in bitcoin as it is back by nothing as he stated.

And now he sees the opportunity to favor in China's crypto currency that is backed by gold so he has something to counter for bitcoin. In the first place, China's crypto currency has been born because of bitcoin so it's not a good idea to claim that that the son is better than the mother of all currencies.
1057  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What can do Governements against Satoshi ? on: November 22, 2019, 06:02:44 AM
If He Forget everything on purpose ?  Cheesy ( Like The genius for remember everything 10 years later everything he did making something he is alone able to see them ).

He know governements probably want to kill him or want him to work for them so he take the risk to be forgotten forever as a legend.

Imagine what he was able to do in 2008 already, when no one in world have the power to change the world, he was the one to believe he was able to start the revolution alone and change entire world by himself.

Nothing, he predicted everything perfectly, he will comeback one day i think he is already back but to crazy like 10 years ago no one believe him already.
I am not really sure if government will want to intervene with regards to satoshi but if in case he/she or they will show up and prove that he/she or they are the genuine satoshi then the one who has the power to intervene is the government where they are born.

But there is a very low possibility that genuine satoshi will show up again for the reason that bitcoin became very demanded because of its anonymity.
1058  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paypal CEO Is a HODLr, but Only Owns Bitcoin on: November 22, 2019, 05:12:26 AM
PayPal CEO Dan Schulman, in describing why the payment company decided to withdraw from Libra, also revealed that he is a hodlr of cryptocurrency, but only Bitcoin.

Interviewed by Fortune magazine, he answered the question if he personally owned any cryptocurrency:

“Yes. Bitcoin.”

Source link here

Okay now this seems to be pretty interesting to me. Since he's a Bitcoin HODLer, I don't know if this is a sign that he could add BTC as one of features for Paypal. If that happens, I don't know what would that be. Probably might integrate Bitcoin as one of the payment options aside from Visa, Mastercard and AMEX?

I have a Paypal account until now, but I only use it like few times a year since entering into the world of cryptocurrencies. Paypal was the payment processor I trusted during my early years as a virtual assistant. However, their fees are eating our funds apart. This is why Bitcoin is such a great alternative, and no doubt Dan Schulman's already convinced about owning some Bitcoin in the first place.
It's quite interesting if it will happen but the possibility is very low that PayPal will add bitcoin as payment option. Knowing that the PayPal CEO owns a crypto currency even if it is a bitcoin only is a big plus to crypto society as PayPal plays a big role also in an online payment system.

I am not sure also about the term HODLr and how much he owns, so we can determine also if he plays a big role in every price movement especially if he is one of the big whales out there.
1059  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What will be the alternate plan - second option on: November 22, 2019, 03:07:53 AM
There is big expectation among each and every cryptocurrency investor regarding the year 2020. We don't know what we gonna experience precisely, all that's been made is out of comparisons and price predictions with several references and related positive and negative news around.

By 2020 if the market doesn't move as most of the experts predicted and experience to move in the opposite direction. What is the alternate plan or the second option you've kept prepared to minimize the loss and keep up the value almost same on the portfolio.

By those instance what will be the choice of selection. Over which cryptocurrencies you'll plan to move your investments. I personally haven't got much of holding, if something happens against prediction only way is to move towards stablecoins.
If the opposite will happen this coming 2020 then what's in my mind is to stock up as much as I can so I have lots of holdings while waiting for the market to recover. I don't care if the market will recover in 2022 as long as I have bought my investments in very low prices and can sell it to the price that I want once the market will start to recover again.

It's pretty hard to predict, but I love stocking lot's of investment and hold it for long term like 2-4 years if possible as I consider it as my savings and if I got lucky then my saving will multiply in the future.
1060  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: there are still many who invest in cryptocurrency? on: November 22, 2019, 02:35:53 AM
as we know that in 2017 many ICO were successful (at least reached softcap) and of course the market cap was also very high at the time, so it proves that many people are interested to investing in cryptocurrency, but now where do these investors go? because now the market cap is down and many ICO or IEO are failing (not reaching softcap), are investors no longer interested to investing in cryptocurrency? if yes, where are they investing now? or is there a more profitable investment than investing in cryptocurrency for now?

Right now, many investors are dormant and will likely to wake up once they sense that the market will start to recover again. Investors will not fade as they will not let the chance to slide especially if they can profit from it.

ICO's are almost gone right now while IEO's are doing great but still struggling to get the target like the softcap and the hardcap unlike back 2017 in which most of the projects easily reach the softcap and others are reaching their hardcap.
