So, I tested positive for COVID-19.

Good times.

Feels like I've been absolutely smeared by an 18 wheeler.

Have not ever experienced cold or flu symptoms this harsh before.

I'll recover fine. No respiratory congestion at all so far, but Rick said his congestion started on day 3 of the infection, so, we'll see how things go. However, I think Rick did himself no favors with his infection, and ended up contracting secondary conditions because he was working, and not resting.

Thank you, China.

Assholes.

At least we'll both have natural immunity after I recover, so that's nice.

Bed-rest for me for at least the next week.

Have a great Sunday, friends.

It might be worth buying a pulse oximeter to check your blood oxygen levels. They aren't always accurate, but can sometimes give an early warning if you need oxygen.

https://www.health.state.mn.us/diseases/coronavirus/pulseoximeter.html

Quote
If someone has COVID-19, a pulse oximeter may help them keep watch over their health and to know if they need medical care. However, while a pulse oximeter may help someone feel like they have some control over their health, it does not tell the whole story. Oxygen level measured by a pulse oximeter is not the only way to know how sick someone is. Some people may feel very sick and have good oxygen levels, and some may feel OK, but have poor oxygen levels.

Pulse oximetry results may not be as accurate for people with darker skin. Their oxygen levels are sometimes reported as higher than they really are. People who check their own oxygen levels, or those who check it for them, should keep this in mind when looking at results.

Oxygen levels may be low if someone feels short of breath, is breathing faster than usual, or feels too sick to do their usual daily activities, even if a pulse oximeter says their oxygen levels are normal. Call a doctor or another health care provider right away if you have these symptoms.

His crashed Duccati that he bought when BTC was $700 per each.. looked pretty damned nice too... and gosh, you might wonder why some peeps never make it even close to fuck you status.

But they have a lot of funzies along the way...  and might be crying a lot when they are in their 50s that they do not have much of anything and they are also not feeling like working so much, either.. .... but do they have a choice at that point?

To each their own, no?

hey JJG, why the bad vibes?? I really enjoy reading your walls of text, and I usually adhere to your toughts. But this negativity surprises me.

Let him enjoy his wealth. Carpe diem they say.

He's not the only one, quite a few of us bought things with bitcoin. Buying something is better than losing your bitcoins gambling them on exchanges. At least you get something to show for them.

That's better than nothing.

So... lambo bores me... Turboprop or jet then?

Been looking at the Cessna Citation Mustang, Cirrus Vision Jet or the Piper M500.

Any thoughts?

Reliant robin.

Spend what's left over on bitcoin.

It's like the Tesla Model X three-wheeler, but cheaper.

You just gave me an idea. We could start a "Bitcoin School" where we could teach newbies about bitcoin, mining, blockchain and so on. A lot of people aren't getting far with DYOR (in fact it steers them towards shitcoins and scams where they lose their interest for crypto all together). People need mentors. This would also promote Bitcoin adoption.

What do you guys think? Would anyone be willing to start something like that with me?

Sadly, most noobs don't really care. There's a cartoon (which I can't find now) with a booth with "when to buy and sell" and a huge line of people and one with "financial planning" with nobody. That's where we are...

Which platform do you eventually think of?
Daily lessons via twitter?
I'd suggest some platform that already attracted a lot of newbies and is highly active (facebook would be the lowest mark on this scale).

Theymos considered giving courses a while ago.

I suggested using moodle, the same free software that Cambridge University uses.

It's been over three years since he started that thread. It's still active.

No one remembers who the buyer dude was, but I think the coins have been analyzed and it's been dispersed through time and all or most of those 10k coins are now with everyone. Everyone has a taint of it, it just goes back all those blocks ago.

Hah, same thought. You got a link to that analysis?

I can't quite find the analysis, but the closest I can find now is this article:
https://bitcoinmagazine.com/culture/beyond-the-bitcoin-pizza-price-surprising-facts-about-bitcoin-pizza-day

Quote
Jercos Eventually Sold His Bitcoin

As the Bitcoin Pizza Day holiday grew, it wasn’t long before Jeremy “Jercos” Sturdivant would be thrust back into the limelight. He’d give his only interview to a website called “Bitcoin Who’s Who” in 2015, five years after the trade.

To the likely dismay of current HODLers, Sturdivant said at the time “a currency is meant to be spent,” noting that the 10,000 BTC he received “made it back into the economy quickly” by the time they were worth about $400 in total.

...

Sturdivant added some other notable details about the transaction, which he says was finalized over IRC while noting he was just 19 years old at the time of the trade.

Anyone at 19 years old who paid $40 for something, then it was worth $400 or even $4000, that usually won't stay long with him unless he forgot about the coins and left it on some hard drive...

I read he sold the coins to "cover expenses" while on holiday with his girlfriend. That makes me wonder what those expenses were. Maybe he bought a few 20 million dollar ice creams.

Wow!! Thank you for this. Sadly no dogecoin yet.

Apply to be a non-preferential creditor if you can prove you had doge there.

Judging by the eth sale I doubt they will directly return coins to creditors. They will probably sell them and return cash instead.

Page 12 of the insolvency/liquidators annual progress report from 26/04/2016 contains a form for letting the liquidator know what you are owed. This is the link to it.

https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/09009856/filing-history/MzE1MzA3NzYyNWFkaXF6a2N4/document?format=pdf&download=0

According to this filing on 28 January 2021 the insolvency/liquidator's registered office address changed to

Liam Alexander Short,
Elwell Watchorn & Saxton Llp,
8 Warren Park Way,
Enderby,
Leicester,
LE19 4SA.

I assume you would send the form there.

The liquidator released another progress report on 05 Jul 2021.

Page 6 says they recovered 16100 ethereum, and 16100 ethereum classic. They sold the ethereum for £14,799,706, and the ethereum classic for £115,506.

Regarding non-preferential creditors, page 7 says this

Quote
To date we have not taken any steps to formally admit creditors claims. However, it is anticipated that a distribution will be made to creditors.

This is the liquidator's progress report.

Farmers sometimes place luminous tubes next to electric fencing to check if it works, when there's a power pulse the tube lights up.

CB/armature radio antennas will light florescent tubes up when held near them on transmit.

There's an artist that "planted" thousands of florescent tubes into a field near an electricity pylon.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/bristol/content/madeinbristol/2004/02/18/field.shtml

Quote
The tubes are powered by residual emmisions from the pylon, causing them to flicker and light up randomly as darkness falls.

The closer you stand to one the more likely it is to light up.

Quote
"You affect the lights by your proximity to them," explained Richard "Because you are a much better conductor than a glass tube.

"And there's sound as well as light - a crackling that corresponds to the flashing of the lights. There's a certain smell too, and your hair stands slightly on end."

Ah, you want $470000.

Very much.  That would do it for sure...

It was $470 in May 2016 and now it's 100x that.  $470000 is only another 10x.

... replaced my hot water heater with a heat pump heater ...

What's a heat pump?

Its like a AC unit that dumps the heat into the water instead of the outside air, awesome for added ac in the summer as well.

What happens if it's freezing cold inside the house, and there's no heat to dump into the water.

What's a heat pump?

An air conditioner that can reverse itself.

I keep hearing we will all need to buy them to save the world, but I still don't know how the fuck they work.

I read somewhere you have to buy bigger radiators to run on a heat pump, and that's about all I know about them.

I was afraid that we might have some volatility..

You know the rules. Before we get volatility we get days of nothing but chartbuddy posts here, followed by the tumbleweed gif.  Straight after the tumbleweed gif we get volatility, and 500 posts an hour here.
