1041  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What games are best suitable for PvP gambling? on: June 27, 2017, 05:24:46 PM
The problem of crypto is that it needs to have sharp controls for PVP games because you are gambling with money at the end of the day, so people don't want to lose because your character has latency. This was the problem battlecoin.org. So you need to have an exceptionally good netcode if you want people to gamble.
You got the point this is exactly the problem of most of the developers of gambling games here like that site battlecoin.. the latency when i play is really high and i'm playing laggy or its just like stop dance..
Except for other games like poker game or Rock paper scissors game that actually not actually its latency.
I think it can be still decrease the latency if they can provide a good server and make a game 2d platform maybe it can reduce the latency..
Hope that they can make a PVP game without high latency which is already been done by other's
Like sample a game in diep.io its not really too laggy if you have a good internet the play are smooth..
So i think only server is the problem when making a online games for lower latency purposes.

I think with enough coding skills, the latency problems can be solved, if you have a good netcode, you can play for big amounts of money, because the netcode is sharp. There is a Street Fighter port that allows you to play really good even with players that are pretty far away. I forgot the name but I wish they developed a way to set bitcoin bets with it.
1042  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Bancor: How low it will go? on: June 27, 2017, 03:11:45 PM
http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bancor/

I think this is one of the worst ICO launchs in history. The price has tanked so hard and only keeps going lower. I guess ICO buyers are still above ICO entry price, but for how long?

Can you explain why would anybody want to buy this? Hasn't the reputation of this project been heavily damaged? I heard the smart contract contained some really dodgy stuff.

What are your predictions on this one?
1043  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / KURT: yes or no? on: June 27, 2017, 02:30:58 PM
KURT (Kurrent) is another "anonymous coin", which I presume is some sort of fork of another coin. It uses the x11 algorithm. I cannot find any reasons that makes this coin different, yet I see it posted a lot lately.

What do you think? is this a good pick to speculate with? will it get nowhere and have no volume? will it get a good pump?
1044  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: it is ethereum failing not bitcoin and not other altcoins on: June 27, 2017, 02:05:03 PM
all/most exchanges disabled Ethereum deposit/withdrawal as the network is useless at this point.
Get the fact straight.

You might have a point. Ethereum is big enough now to cause frictions on the entire cryptosphere and may be big enough to drive the price down of the whole thing. I can't believe they have given so many billions on this overhyped scam. I hope it crashes and once it crashes, all the money goes back to Bitcoin. I can't stand the idiots dreaming with the so called "flippening". Bitcoin doubters will pay dearly.
1045  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Tonight I will buy 20 btc of altcoins on: June 26, 2017, 10:48:13 PM
I am a wave rider. Meaning: not a day trader but move with waves. Every -2 weeks i exit to fiat and then buy back in.
Mainly btc hodler with some altcoin for long term as well.

I am curious if you can suggest good altcoins that are promising.
I hold just about any serious altcoin, usually 0,5-1 btc worth.

I will buy more
BAT
Crown
Shift
Viacoin
Ark
Probably will put 2 eth into EOS ico for the fun of it.

Any other thoughts?

Why would you go to fiat? everytime you go to fiat, you have to pay taxes. Better to convert all of your altcoin trading gains back into bitcoin, and hold bitcoin long term. Remember that if you hold 1+ year, the taxes go lower, so just keep amassing more BTC. In 5 to 10 years BTC will be worth a ton per coin, so you'll be able to retire with a couple million dollars anywhere near 20 BTC.
1046  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: June 26, 2017, 06:04:04 PM
Fernando Alonso team radio:"It's a shame , we could have won this race"

Best part of the race yesterday. It was a clear message to Honda that Mclaren drivers and fans have had enough of the GP2 engine. Time for an upgrade Honda.

Well at least he got 2 points, it will not be a 0 anymore for the end of the season. Today it was one of the most entertaining races, a really chaotic race, very different from the monotonous other races like the Monaco one. I like this kind of races where it's unpredictable what will happen.

Also I think Alonso was being a little bit sarcastic with that comment.

1048  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone Made 100X Profit from Altcoin Investment on: June 26, 2017, 04:53:02 PM
I have never seen %100 gains that didn't involve long term holding, at least 1+ year of holding... that or you get lucky and buy a coin that gets a massive pump randomly because some pump group decides to pump it and it gets %100+, but it's always too lucky involved.

Long term gainers like ETH, XMR, STRATIS... it would have taken a lot of holding to get the big gains.
1049  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does the cryptocurrency industry need? on: June 26, 2017, 01:00:40 AM
All we need right now is a payment channel layer to allow for trillions of transactions per second so we can actually get everyone on the global economy without destroying the gold-like properties for bitcoin.

Im yet to see other blockchain applications that make sense. Some smart contracts are cool, but most of it is vaporware and lack substance. Lets get the money part right first.
1050  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Scalability issues? Transactions take hours? Hard fork fears? XRP IS ANSWER! on: June 26, 2017, 12:04:02 AM
Is this a comedy post or are you this dumb? Sorry, the answer to bitcoin's problems is not e-fiat. XRP is not even a blockchain. XRP is useless, serves no purpose other than pump and dump it to get more BTC from the clueless newbies that buy random altcoins hoping to get rich overnight.
1051  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PLEASE SIGN THE AMAZON BTC PETITION on: June 25, 2017, 11:59:32 PM
This won't do anything. Can't you already use third party services for buying on Amazon in the forum here ? I'm sure I read about it here on a thread.

Anyway let us know what happens and how it goes. I guess at least we can see how interested people are to use Bitcoin on Amazon.

I have never seen evidence of those change.org type websites doing anything unless it had an insane amount of people signing. I doubt Jeff Bezos is going to follow what the website says to deliver his business. Im sure he is the type of guy that is too much of a narcissist and a control freak and he will not compromise his own business plan and will only accept bitcoin he feels like it. Hopefully with the lightning network ready we can have a viable way to get Amazon on board, for now.. it's useless.
1052  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Network selection for July on: June 25, 2017, 11:26:44 PM
What is "the network selection"?

I checked those coins, and stopped checking after looking at the first one, "ParallelCoin":

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1097017.0

Seems like a regular bitcoin clone that adds nothing new, with tiny amount of exchange volume and only 15 pages on bitcointalk... who would want to buy this?
1053  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Digibyte is Dead? on: June 25, 2017, 11:07:58 PM
DGB is dead it was so overvalued in it's previous state let it die out until it finds where it should be valued at and then whatever happens..

It pumped way too much, way too fast for it's own good, now it will have to go thought a period of assimilation and recovery. I thought it was too high at 400 and dumped mine there. I wish I held to it for a couple more hours, but I didn't want to risk it. Now it's sitting at 912, so it's still pretty good in my book, as long as it does not go lower, it's still ok and it progressed.
1054  Economy / Economics / Re: Will UASF affect Bitcoin ? on: June 25, 2017, 10:47:56 PM
Im no longer worried about UASF and it's safe to say you shouldn't be worried too. 90% of hashrate is signaling for segwit2x, which means segwit will be activated before august 1st.

If I understood correctly, it will be compatible with regular Bitcoin Core clients so that means segwit will get activated. Just be sure to NOT download any software that isn't released by Bitcoin Core and you will be ok.
1055  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if Governments Shutdown the Internet? on: June 25, 2017, 10:20:06 PM
Never a good idea, it would be an attack upon the government itself since the entire banking industry and economy pretty much depends on stable internet connections. IF they did that, the economy would collapse and the government would be blamed for more chaos than bitcoin itself could bring. This is a non issue.
1056  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin and Inflation on: June 25, 2017, 01:45:20 AM
The inflation of bitcoin is predictable and it's set in stone:

Anyone that tries to modify this will meet the strongest resistance. It is not a problem for bitcoin to have a limited supply because the price will keep going up with the demand, and the unit of account can be divided as small as needed. Bitcoin's inflation becomes almost unnoticeable by 2030, which is why by then, the price will be extremely high.
1057  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [GNT] Is Golem a good investment? on: June 25, 2017, 01:21:23 AM
I've heard repeated critiques on Golem speaking about unsolvable problems that the developers would need to solve for it to work in the long term, so you are investing in something that isn't essentially never going to be functional as intended... what do you think about that? if you can explain this it would clear it to me, and I will consider buying or not. I don't want to buy into a short lived pump.
1058  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10,000 per bitcoin on: June 25, 2017, 01:09:13 AM
I think we are going to spend $10,000 per bitcoin sooner than we thought because more countries are legalizing bitcoin. Australia is going to do it on July 1st, India is on its way. What do you think?

We hit $3000 before a lot of people, if not most people, didn't expect it, so I don't see why $10000 isn't possible before again, most people expect it to be hitted.

Bitcoin grows in exponential cycles, so most people aren't ready to process those big numbers. A lot of people still can't believe we hit $3000 recently, the market is processing it, after it's clear that this is the new floor, $5000 is on sight and then $10000... and then nuclear reaction kicks in and you see $100000+
1059  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Breakout alert Iconomi @$5 ST target of $8-$9 value on: June 25, 2017, 12:38:26 AM
I considering picking this coin up when it was stagnating, but I kept ignoring it, because I thought it was scammy. It is some sort of hedge fund or index fund of cryptos, and I never liked the idea of trusting some random people with my money, if I want to invest in a token I invest myself and speculate... but I guess I should have picked up some. I wonder for how long it can be hyped up since there are a lot of vapid promises on the project, we'll see if they deliver.
1060  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is best PoS coin to invest into right now? on: June 25, 2017, 12:02:42 AM
POSW (Poswallet) seems to have bottomed, I doubt it will get any lower. Masternodes are coming in july and some other updates. The service may become more attractive after they add ETH support as ETH will go PoS eventually. I think it's a good hold to see what happens, considering it just can't get any lower, and you are supposed to buy the bottom.
