Of course! It's just taking me a bit of considered time since forgoing my first plan, and so, I like taking my time whenever possible Smiley

I would like to honor a couple other great Aquarians who made a most positive impact on me with my time here in this community:

RyNinDaClem, because I really do appreciate all the time you take out to educate me with anything you know, as well as anyone else willing, just because of your sheer enjoyment of doing so. For being who you are, please receive 200mBTC well!

Otoh, because you saved me at one point a couple years back when I was much younger, financially amidst all the Securities and Lending schemes taking place, and soon after, spiritually, through showing me another side of life. Please receive 100mBTC, for being who you are. The 100mBTC is not because I value you any less, my friend, but because I've already gifted you in the past and it's more of a public token and acclaim for my appreciation and spreading good will and energies than anything.  Smiley

Sirs, not only have you personally helped me, but from what I can tell, you are paragons for everyone around. We're especially in a unique position at this cusp in time—and we lead the future by living our lives through example and getting what we want to see. The force of God lives all around us and as such, through us. I like to think we have what we have—whether faith in the face of doubt, wisdom and tolerance amidst the darkness and ignorance, wealth amidst poverty, and whatever, Love from hate—it is only so that we show the way by "passing it on". With the remaining 700mBTC, my intentions are to sow some seeds for universal love and peace, tending them so that we soon fruit more seeds (I'll be sharing those later on  Wink)

Appreciate it guys!

Much love,

Risto's gift has been making it very difficult for me to put into words the thoughts I want to convey. At the same time I feel wonderment, I feel blessed and empowered, but above all, I feel happy, and I've felt this way ever since one of my best friends texted me last Friday to share the news about this and from all the positivity that has been radiated since.

I just want to share a few thoughts, thoughts that have stuck with me from Life:

Pastor Jose, a great man who helped rebuild the 9th Ward in New Orleans, remarked to us during a magical lunch when he invited my friends and I into his home one day we were passing through the city:
The purpose of life is to leave it better for the next time we come around.

And I shall with all of you here. Do you realize how special we are to be alive, to be here where we are now, to know what we know? We're lucky! But we're not just lucky, resultantly, we're imbued with meaning and purpose as well; we dance, we laugh, we cry, we suffer, we learn, we die, but, we live, and we're in this together and we owe to ourselves to help and love each other. So be nice, have fun, follow your dreams, for our lives are not our own. We are bound to others, past and present, and by each crime and every kindness, we birth our future.

To Risto, thank you sir, you are a true gentleman of the ages. And thank you friends, everyone, for being a part of this journey homeward. This is a hell of a good universe—I'm honored to evolve through it with you all Smiley

“We do not believe in ourselves until someone reveals that deep inside us something is valuable, worth listening to, worthy of our trust, sacred to our touch. Once we believe in ourselves we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight or any experience that reveals the human spirit.”

Love always, love eternal,
Đông Anh

By that measure Bitcoin is a pyramid scheme too. While civilization seems to be degrading along with the global financial system Bitcoin is just getting started. I think Bitcoin going to really inflate that civilization bubble Type 1 civilization here we come. Smiley

Pyramid Scheme:

Risto Pietila, in my experience and recollection of him the past two years, has always stood to be a character of utmost integrity in my eyes, for what it's worth. While "Jesus" can be interpreted or perceived as dogmatic, Mr. Pietila is a pretty swell guy and to my limited knowledge, acts in his communities' best interests, i.e. I've never witnessed him misleadingly manipulate others but rather uses the gifts the Universe has given him to do what he does best for some ideal of "better".

Even the best intentions can be caustic towards scaling. Rpietila believes in a top-down world organized by power-law distribution of capital. His group grew the cryptocrypt forum to 400 members in several months specifically around this model for the world. Hope he can scale Monero to more than 400 users in several months.

Selling crypto-currency to speculators here on this forum is only a small part of scaling a money for the world. It is not a totally unimportant aspect, but it is not sufficient by itself.

I will refrain from posting in this thread. Someone messaged me to read the "Monero Jesus" comment.

As far as I know, Risto is a very upstanding member of society and believes he is doing his best to better mankind. I do not disparage his intentions. He is also my friend before, but the situation might be (?) a bit strained at the moment, because I know programming and market scaling to non-investor markets. So we will not naturally necessarily see each other's viewpoint at this time. Although I can't say we've had any arguments lately. And I did not come to his thread to end up in fight. I simply wanted to analyze the factual situation of the altcoins as best I can from my knowledge and perspective.

I do think I should stay out this discussion now. I do wish everyone the best, including all the developers of the various coins.

God bless all of you.

Echoed. The community would do very well to learn from your independent thinking and heed your analyses.

Thank you for standing stalwartly and helping the community in your own away, sir.

I do think I should stay out this discussion now. I do wish everyone the best, including all the developers of the various coins.

God bless all of you.

Why do you think you should stay out of this discussion or any other? I appreciate your posts, however it would be nice if you put forth your ideas for a cryptocurrency that can scale, so that we can begin to put those ideas into code and even into Moneo itself.
For different individuals, perhaps some forms of contribution are more efficient than others e.g. action over posting on a forum, in AnonyMint's case.

I don't lean any which one way except for peace and love but this is one factor (below). The escalation in conflict, especially that of the media war is probably the primary factor.

"Ted Postol, a physicist at the university and an expert in missiles and missile defenses, has found evidence that only about 5 percent of Iron Dome engagements result in the targeted rocket being destroyed or even sufficiently damaged to disable its explosive warhead. In the other 95 percent of cases, the interceptor either misses entirely or just lightly damages the enemy munition, allowing the rocket’s intact warhead to continue arcing toward the ground."

3) Anonymint was wrong with that statement, as I remember seeing another user correct him, along with the fact that accoriding to studies, 5 is the optimal team number, Monero has a team of around 7, which is way closer to the optimal number of 5, than boolberries team of 2. It may be simple/easy from a technical standpoint, but since it would force real honesty in government and thus deprive government and banks of the main source of their power, such a system will be resisted and fought against in every way imaginable. The only way a bitcoin standard will happen is if the majority of people choose to walk away from fiat of their own free will and choose to adopt bitcoin and think in bitcoin. (Which is exactly why there used to be a gold standard, it wasn't because governments liked it, but because it was demanded by the people)

These two opposing forces between government resistance and individual adoption is what will make this journey one of the most interesting in our lifetime, whichever way it eventually goes.

I like your way of thinking.

I'm in it for what promises to be the ride of a lifetime Smiley I can't even imagine the world of crypto 5 or 10 years from now so I'm happy that I get to see it grow with my own eyes.

1076  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: The Official Mastercoin Foundation, Master Protocol & Mastercoin Thread on: July 27, 2014, 05:58:16 AM
a bit disappointing upon further review, but again, my guess is that it probably has to do with mastercore. Robby was so right about the importance of a reference client Sad

In December, 2 different parties offered to fork bitcoind to include the master protocol. Both Rob and JR turned down the offers because "JR was going to code the daemon".

Yeah, it might've been my biggest regret as a board member. It was never even really considered though I did ask what it would cost to have Robby (some six-figure stake and board membership, iirc) before never following up (at least, on my part) because JR seemed confident saying we'd be better off without his offer. Water under the bridge and all that, but pride indeed begets the fall. Lost time we can never get back... but progress nonetheless. dev@ has been amazing especially since they now have a sense of (coordinated) direction moving forward.

I'm glad that the mastercore team seems to be on the right track now. What is it going to take for the mastercoin foundation to get on the right track? Does it need the full board to resign and have proper elections? or is it just too late?

Has the board thought about dissolving and handing over the remaining funds to another team like counterparty? The whole point of this project was to get a bitcoin 2.0 protocol off the ground and it's been proven that other teams have been much more successful with much less, if any funding. Just imagine what those other teams can do with the rest of mastercoin's funds!

edit: maybe letting the safe team control the remaining funds and directing the mastercoin development would be more fair to everyone. In a way the mastercoin foundation owes them about 4 million dollars.

In the works hmmstrange! We are organizing at least some of these (most feasible and beneficial) items and some others to be executed upon in the short term (after Mastercore), though, I will allow the relevant voices to share when ready since I don't like speaking on others' behalf. I apologize for being perhaps cryptic and not offering more details, but certain developments have to occur first.

I would very welcome us sharing a summary of any general or specific concerns, grievances and suggestions we have in the meantime—we intend to address everything. My thoughts, which I know many of you probably share that we are currently immediately addressing, include operations, expenditures, and organizational structure.

Commenting on your suggestions thus far, proper elections—very much agreed.

Dissolving and handing over remaining funds, since the members of the board tends to have the majority of the MSC distribution, it seems to me to be unnecessarily risky to hand funds over to any entity that may not have the Mastercoin constituents' best interests first. A better alignment of interests would have to first take place before something like this can be considered. I understand that running lean is a forte of XCP et al., but we would do better to emulate that according to our project's needs rather than giving another entity sudden and full responsibility for said needs. In the works.

And re: MaidSafe, I don't think it'll do their project any good to necessitate distracting them have responsibility for the Mastercoin Foundation on top of their respective efforts. We share a lot of aligned interests yes, but governmentally/operationally it doesn't make sense when Nick and David already have a very respected and well-heard voice working together on our board. We are lucky to have them in that capacity, I would not wish any inconvenience on their part having a day-to-day responsibility past the influence they already have since they can achieve the same ends. Of course, I am not speaking for the good sirs but humbly sharing my point of view: it doesn't seem to be very feasible or optimal, at least at first glance.

Interesting. There is no mention of Mastercoin on the Storj crowdsale page yet. I guess they will soon it later with this new information?

Honestly I don't know. I just received an informational report from the bitangels on Storj on that like 20 minutes ago, so I would assume so if the report is valid, which I also would assume. But assumptions are a terrible thing, from what I've learned reading Demian recently Smiley

okay this was what I gathered...

here's the full text of the report:

BitAngels,

As a follow up from their presentation last week I've included here the informational report on Storj and their up coming crowdsale.

https://docs.google.com/document/d/100qzqUTkORJ-LKFbe0svUbpUoktSbZNM-TfZ3RPgaEw/edit?usp=sharing

TL;DR

Storj.io is one of the first platforms with front end applications for decentralized, secure storage of data for end users. See website here: http://storj.io/ The platform is already up and running for the storage of data, the back end of decentralized mining will begin in the next few weeks. The crowdsale begins on July 18th at 8:00 a.m. eastern time and ends August 18th with a total of 500 Million Storjcoin X (SJCX) to be sold, the details are covered in the presentation link below and here: http://storj.io/crowdsale.html There is a 10% discount for the first 1,800 BTC collected and the discount progressively declines based on the volume of BTC collected. The team is using both the Counterparty and Master Protocol’s to issue the tokens. The back end is using a fork of data coin and plans to also support the Safe Network upon its launch.

View presentation and Q&A at the following link:
https://drive.google.com/a/dappsfund.com/file/d/0B0Ibqr7Y2XcNTGh6OFpVUXRFU2M/edit?usp=sharing

and from the first link,

The location of data is stored in data coin blockchain as it requires larger amounts of storage than are available on the Bitcoin Blockchain. The location of the token data is stored on the Bitcoin Blockchain using the Counter Party standard and in the future also the Master Protocol standard.

a bit disappointing upon further review, but again, my guess is that it probably has to do with mastercore. Robby was so right about the importance of a reference client Sad

Storj is doing their crowdsale on Counterparty. Here is a thread on Storjtalk about it: http://storjtalk.org/index.php?topic=1341.30

That is a big wake up call for msc. Counterparty is winning some battles.

Hopefully mastercore can help add more exchanges and restore community confidence back to msc.

It has to start with MasterCore before anything else can happen. While we're at it, is there anything you guys want to see the most during the next iteration of features?  I apologize if I haven't been engaging us enough in this aspect. I do know the devs would like some UI input if anyone has anything to say there.

anyway, yes, XCP is winning battles, though the language in the previous posts may be a tad misleading. XCP is also getting the privilege of hosting Storj's crowdfund. This opinion probably is not worth much, but to me it's a testament to how fair a competitor the Counterparty team is and the sheer amounts of investment and sweat that has poured into the decentralized apps scene as a whole.
