The Monerujo Android wallet is working on mainnet. The developer is recommending small transactions right now though.

Ledger is supposed to release the alpha Monero hardware wallet by end of this month. Both developments bullish for price.

Rebound at the following fibo support after the last ATH correction. It's a classic.
Now let's see if the uptrend continues. Breaking the 4k spot again in the few next hours would be good news.

Where is the next fibo line up? Bottoming from 3750usd must put us to...around 4100usd with this rebound? or am I being too optimistic?

On a daily chart the first Fibonacci resistance level up is $4017 if the bottom is in at $3720. Going the other way next long term Fibonacci support level is at $3136.

Looking at weekly BBands it is easy to see if price breaks support at $3600 we are headed down to the weekly 20 MA at $3000. Last time the weekly 20 MA was tested it was a good time to buy.
1066  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin drop? on: September 13, 2017, 03:50:41 PM
Elliott Wave works best after the fact. You can always find an alternate wave count to support your position. Looking at weekly BBands it is easy to see if price breaks support at $3600 we are headed down to the weekly 20 MA at $2900 - $3000. Last time the weekly 20 MA was tested it was a good time to buy.
1067  Economy / Speculation / Re: Chinese ban bitcoin news is 100% pure bullshit on: September 08, 2017, 07:42:11 PM
Hypothetically lets say the news was true. What is the price floor? $3600?

If we get panic selling the weekly 20 MA and previous swing high may provide support at $2800 - $3000

The end of the Cryptocurrency Exchange era in China (translation) - Google Doc

"... It’s important to note, this decision is to close all cryptocurrency to fiat currency exchanges, that is, to halt all exchanged based trading of bitcoin for RMB. But it does not halt all bitcoin and fiat trading outside of exchanges. Someone close to the leadership of the IFRG stated: “what is being closed is bitcoin exchanges, not bitcoin itself”. The same person emphasized, “this ban on exchanges and exchange activity won’t affect the development of blockchain technology.”

Such a cool piece. You can find spy coins made from currency but there aren't any other bitcoin spy coins.

Titans are valued by collectors. Why not leave it loaded and auction it off here in the Collectibles board?

Eliot waves analysts

https://ewminteractive.com/btcusd-ready-another-terrifying-pullback

and Goldman Sach says that bitcoin will top $4800 and then drop

I wonder if any people here agree

Here are the links

https://www.cnbc.com/2017/08/14/goldman-sachs-says-bitcoin-may-rise-about-500-more.html

Doesn't it happen already?  there is no point in arguing about the analysis of Bitcon price droping since it already happen.  But the one debatable is the price going down to $2,200.  I know the analysis used here is the data from the previous price drop of Bitcoin but I believe there are lots of errors there.  Bitcoin might fall in price due to the correction but I think it will not touch $2500 again.

If bitcoin enters a bear market with the current top of $5000 you should expect price to drop to the 0.618 to 0.786 Fibonacci retrace levels on the chart. Of course if we make a new high we have to draw a new chart. We are talking worst care here. If bitcoin price drops to $2000 it will not just pop back up to make new highs, we will be in a bear market that could take a minimum of a year to resolve.

1072  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin drop? on: September 07, 2017, 11:45:43 PM
I am expecting a worst case scenario of bitcoin dropping back to $3000. It doesn't really matter though. People seem to be obsessed with minor changes like +/- $500, we seem to forget to just zoom out and look at the trend. These changes are still considered as healthy in the market.

If bitcoin has actually topped out at $5000 and we are entering a bear market your worst case should be $1200 to $2000. You should be prepared to hold any bitcoin you own through a one to two year bear market. That is what risk/reward is about. Sure, bitcoin might surprise everyone and hit $7000 before the bear market. But if you are sitting on a lot of bitcoin right now is time to take profits and raise cash.
1073  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Forgot seed phrase, what to do? on: September 07, 2017, 11:36:23 PM
Please be aware that you do NOT have to purchase a new hardware wallet based upon your post.  Having a few Trezors is nice but not needed.  You have a free solution, which is fairly safe if you have basic computer knowledge.  Install Electrum (you are posting in the Electrum forum) on an offline computer and create a new "cold" wallet.  Write the seed down and keep it safe until you finish this easy process.  Once you know the Electrum wallet is good to go and you have the SEED safe and sound you can send the Trezor wallet contents to the cold wallet.  Once you verify the coins are there you can then re-initialize your TREZOR.  This will wipe and create a new wallet.  Brand new SEED words, and of course as you know now ----- WRITE THEM DOWN.  Its a few minutes at most to do this if you know what you are doing.  Then send the Electrum wallet coins to your new TREZOR wallet.  The new hardware wallet has ZERO to do with the wallet currently on your Trezor.  If you don't know how to use the two computer hot/cold wallet approach with Electrum there are threads all over this forum.  Please ASK if you have any questions.  We don't want you losing coins, but I assure you this process is totally safe if you understand what you are doing.

Your approach requires OP to use Electrum cold storage with two computers: one always offline that holds private keys and signs transactions, and an online watching only wallet to send and receive. You can not use an Electrum offline wallet to send transactions so OP please only look into this solution if you have a spare computer you can take offline, disable the radio and never put online again:) This (along with Armory) is how we did cold storage until Trezor was available in 2014.

Hi,

I've lost my seed phrase I wrote on a paper, but I still know my password pin for my trezor.

Can I retrieve my seed still? (I don't feel like transferring my coin to a new wallet)

No you need to buy a new hardware wallet and send the bitcoin to the new wallet. Do it before you forget the PIN and lose your bitcoin. Next time keep your seed safe.
Better write over your PIN and buy new wallet as fast as possible. Then transfer your bitcoins to next wallet. Keep your seed safe. Once I bought new wallet since my parents trashed my seeds when they found them.

Man, more money to spend on wallet....I hate this Sad But thanks for the advice Smiley

Btw, after I transfer my bitcoins to my new hardware wallet, can I "factory reboot" my old hardware wallet so I can use it again?

Thanks

If you buy another Trezor once you have the new wallet set up and your bitcoin safely transferred over wipe the old Trezor and update to newest firmware. Then do an advanced recovery using the seed from the new wallet. That way you have a duplicate Trezor ready to go in case of loss. Trezors do break once in awhile so having a spare around is definitely worth it. I had one go bad after three months replaced for free under warranty.

People tend to forget that all bull market cycles end eventually followed by a painful bear market. The question is where are we now? Take a look at the monthly Bitcoin price on Bitstamp:

We have our first red monthly candle. I explained in this article how $4400 marked an important top in bitcoin price and showed that $7000 was possible but not very likely.

I think the top for this bull cycle is in at $5000. The uncertainty about the November SegWit2X hard fork and the success of Bitcoin Cash could lead to a 50% drop anytime. We just need some bad news, a catalyst for traders to exit. If we enter a bear market expect price to drop to $1200 to $2000 and last for twelve to eighteen months.

Bitcoin has had a very good run from $152 to $5000. You really should be selling now not buying. Maybe keep 20% of your bitcoin but only what you feel comfortable holding through a bear market.
1079  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Signing a message with the Android client on: September 07, 2017, 03:27:38 AM
Electrum client for Android doesn't have the feature to signed a message with your address, you can do it only on Desktop version of electrum, but if you are an android user I will suggest that use Mycelium mobile wallet, it does have the feature to signed message on any wallet address there, the one you created which is HD wallet and even the imported one but not the watched address.

No problem using Mycelium (wish they used the same word list as the Electrum version I used to create my wallet, though), but how do I get my private key out of Electrum on Android?

When you make a wallet, you get a seed.
You can use this seed to get the private keys and master public key. This seed can be input in the desktop version downloadable here here

Uhm..., did you read what I wrote? I have no access whatsoever to any desktop version of Electrum. I need to get the private key out of the Android version.

Electrum wallet for Android is limited. You can't export private keys, and since Electrum uses a non standard derivation path you cannot restore the seed to another Android wallet like Mycelium. So find a laptop you can install Electrum on and restore the seed as you will never be able to do what you want with the Android version.
1080  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 06, 2017, 02:53:15 PM
$4400 was an important Fibonacci target for Bitcoin price. Yes, the next Fibonacci extension is $7000. However it is way more probable that $5000 was the top for this cycle and we are in the dead cat bounce right now. Veterans are moving into cash because one day probably not far off some news event will cause a 50% crash in bitcoin price overnight. And price will not recover but keep going down. I want to see higher Bitcoin prices as much as anyone else but we are very late in this bull cycle and inevitably we will enter a bear phase lasting at least a year that could see price drop 50% to 75%. Before you take out a second mortgage to buy Bitcoin ask yourself if you can handle holding through a bear market.
