1081  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Auction] MS69 1 BTC Gold/Silver Casascius Coin 1 hour left! on: July 31, 2016, 12:00:00 AM
There is one hour remaining in this auction. The current highest bid is

2.41BTC

Just a reminder, anyone that bids in the last 5 minutes of the auction will extend the auction end time by 5 minutes and so on. Get your bid in by 8:54PM EST (54 minutes from now) if you want to avoid doing so  Wink

This coin is still a steal!
1082  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Auction] MS69 1 BTC Gold/Silver Casascius Coin 6 hours left! on: July 30, 2016, 07:11:04 PM
Very generous to share the profits with MJ's charity.  I didn't realize until fully reading the post.

2.4 BTC

I've been thinking of ways to help out MJ's charity anyway, so I figured why not. The other people who are auctioning and raffling things off for MJ are giving all of the profits to the charity. Since I can't afford to do that right now, I don't think it would be right for me to plaster the ad with a Charity Auction tag or anything like that, as it would just look like an attempt to bolster attention for my auction.

Thank you very much for your bid  Smiley

The price is still low enough that someone is going to get a hell of a deal.
1083  Economy / Goods / Re: [US] 30% Off Apple Products VOUCH COPIES on: July 30, 2016, 06:37:23 PM
I set up a vouch copy with reefuse with OGnasty as escrow. The seller had some stuff come up and wasn't able to do the transaction, so we canceled the escrow. I have no positive or negative impression.
1084  Economy / Goods / Re: Selling Silver and Gold Bullion at Spot price! Inventory Update 7/30! on: July 30, 2016, 05:17:18 PM

1085  Economy / Collectibles / [Auction] MS69 1 BTC Gold/Silver Casascius Coin (ended) on: July 29, 2016, 08:45:35 PM
Hi all, I've decided to go the auction route rather than waiting to find a price I'm happy with, especially since I don't know what that price would be. Full disclosure, I purchased this Casascius Coin from Blazed recently for the price of 2.2 BTC in a strange turn of auction events. I'd prefer to have the BTC to reinvest into my Silver/Gold business so I'm placing it up for auction again. In the spirit of not being a jerk, I spoke with Blazed and offered a portion of any profit I made on this sale, however Blazed defered that their portion be donated to MinerJones' family who recently lost their home to a fire.

The starting bid is 2.35 BTC as I have that offer from Lutpin from my previous thread bid increments of 0.01BTC please. I asked Lutpin if the offer would stand if I placed the coin up for auction, and they agreed. The auction will end at 9PM US Eastern Time. For reference, the time of this post is approximately 4:45 US Eastern time, so the auction ends 28.25 hours from now.

50% of the profit made on this auction will be donated to MinerJones' family. As it was purchased for 2.2 BTC, if the ending price is 2.5 BTC, they will recieve .15 BTC, and so on.

The winning bid includes free Priority shipping with tracking number to the US, and signature confirmation if you would like it. If you are outside of the US, you are welcome to bid, however shipping terms will need to be negotiated.

If any bid is placed within the last 5 minutes of the auction ending, the auction end time will be extended by 5 minutes.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

1086  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Selling MS69 1BTC Silver/Gold Cas coin on: July 29, 2016, 08:08:46 PM
Since you're looking for offers, let me kick it off with 2.35BTC.

Thanks, the offer is much appreciated. If no one else is interested in the next day or two, it will be yours.
1087  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Selling MS69 1BTC Silver/Gold Cas coin on: July 29, 2016, 01:47:10 AM
This has been really great to see how the community has gotten behind one of it's long term members (MinerJones) to help out in a time of need, well done.
Sorry i can't donate myself but i will enter one of the charity raffles on offer, best of luck MinerJones.

@OP sorry to hijack your thread a little, nice coin, good luck with the sale.

Don't worry about it, you didn't hijack you just bumped my thread for me  Smiley

Anyone that has been around here has seen sob stories by scammers, and the resulting harrassment that they deserve and receive. Even I always had a sort of impression that Bitcointalk users weren't very generous. Now I think its just that there are a million scams for every real person that needs help. When someone who honestly does need help comes along though, it looks like Bitcointalk rallies.

If I knew what these Cas Coins actively sold for, I'd name a price and the amount that would be donated to MinerJones' family. I paid 2.2 BTC for it an a crazy turn of events and an unfortunate auction for Blazed. I'd like to recoup my 2.2 BTC, and then donate the majority of any profit I make to MinerJones.
1088  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Selling MS69 1BTC Silver/Gold Cas coin on: July 28, 2016, 03:42:19 PM
Flipping coins is the name of the game for many here. I would not accept any of your profits as they would be yours to keep! You got a killer deal and I hope you flip it for more than you paid  Cheesy

Its appreciated, but I'd still feel like a jerk. If you feel that way, I'll contribute what I had planned on sending to you to MinerJones' family.
1089  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Selling MS69 1BTC Silver/Gold Cas coin on: July 28, 2016, 02:45:35 AM
Is that the coin you just won from Blazed?  Tongue

Yep, I'm trying to start up my Silver/Gold business again, so I cant really have that many BTC locked up in a Cas coin. I sent him a pm telling him. I'll send him a tip when it sells in the spirit of not being a jerk who snipes auctions and just resells the prize after.

1095  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or Gold? What would you pick? on: July 27, 2016, 03:22:17 PM
Bitcoin is more risky than Gold, but Bitcoin has more potential short term profit. Do your research and hedge, and you will probably do well. Its like managing a stock portfolio, have the right ratio of safe investments and high risk high reward investments.
1096  Economy / Goods / Re: Selling Silver and Gold Bullion! Prices Reduced 7/27/16! on: July 27, 2016, 12:17:34 PM
A couple of new items added! Check the OP under the Fresh In header for details! Every day, I'll be having a sale on a couple of products where the price is reduced even further! That is in addition to my price match/beat guarentee. Today's sale is on the Silver Britannia's and Perth Gold! Order a roll of Britannias, SBSS Trivium or two or more 5g perth gold bars, and receive your choice of 3% off the list price, or a free ounce of silver! The silver will be part of my personal collection in Brilliant Uncirculated condition inside of an airtite container.

I'm also offering frequent buyer and quantity rewards. I'm still running the numbers to see what I can afford to do, but customers will be given free metal or discounts for purchases reaching certain criteria that I will specify soon. These are cumulative, so if you have purchased from me in the past and make an order, you are elligible for discounts!

I have another 20 oz of silver and a 2.5g gold bar arriving today! Be on the lookout for a deal  Wink
1097  Other / Meta / Re: Does having a 2nd account here respect the ToS? on: July 26, 2016, 02:56:54 PM
It's not against the rules:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=789889.msg8901871#msg8901871

However, when you have several alt accounts, there are a couple things you need to know:
It IS against the rules/frowed upon to:

  • answer yourself/have discussions with yourself
  • use your account as a sock puppet
  • keep posting with ANY of the alt accounts when an other ALT account is banned
  • give yourself positive trust

Technically speaking, you can use your other account as a sock puppet and have discussions with yourself as long as you aren't violating the 1 bump every 24 hours rule. You can also give yourself positive trust if you really want.

merelcoin's recommendations there are good ones though. There are plenty of legitimate uses for having multiple accounts, so it is not against any rules. If you don't want to look like you are a scammer, not giving yourself positive trust is probably key.
1098  Economy / Goods / Re: house on: July 26, 2016, 02:41:49 PM
You are saying you are selling a house in Russia for $12,500-$35,000 the size of the lot can vary if someone needs more space, there is internet, phone, and water, and gas is delivered once per month?

Just trying to clarify for anyone else wondering. Very neat listing, what area is the lot in? Is there a house already built, or is it just the land you are selling?
1099  Economy / Goods / Re: Selling Silver and Gold Bullion! Prices Reduced 7/26/16! on: July 26, 2016, 12:56:02 PM
I'm very interested in the new business plan , good luck and I hope it works.
Also the crocs are peaking my interest, I'll likely be in touch regarding those soon.

Please do!

Just got some of my gold in! (6) 5 Gram gold bars from the Perth mint! I also got a 1 oz pamp bar, but it was fake.  Angry

I have (2) 10 gram and a 2.5 gram Perth gold bar coming in shortly, and some more silver of course.

the 5 gram gold bars are priced under APMEX's Qty 25+ bulk price  Shocked if you can find a better price from a reputable dealer, I'll match it or beat it. If you are interested in multiple items let me know, I still have a little room to cut a deal!

Ouch,  did you get your money back for the fake?

You could look into the laws and taxes on shipping international,  it might help your new business grow.

I'm in the process of getting my money back. Its a open and shut case that it was a fake, but of course the seller says its not, so its not an instant refund. I know a fair bit about international shipping of metals. I've bought and sold a lot of metal in the past just trying to increase my own stash, to other countries as well. Germany, Australia, and any country with a US Trade Embargo are the only places I can't legally ship (though I may be able to do Germany now) Any and all tax liability is on the customer. What I can say, is that I've had hit or miss experiences with metals going through foreign customs. I've had $500 packages get hit with VAT, and $3,000 packages not get hit by VAT. When mailing out of the country, I declare the value as spot value of the metal and try and label them as collectors coins or something like that to help try and prevent theft. What I'm selling right now is just kind of my bulk bullion that I had laying around. Once I've cleared it out, I'll be adding smaller pieces, selling singles rather than rolls, and such, so I'll most likely open up my sales to the foreign market.

The issue I have with international shipping isn't so much about the difficulty of shipping internationally, or the laws, its mainly to do with international tracking numbers. When a package leaves the US, if the shipping plan isn't Global Priority Mail Express (Often near $100) the tracking label will stop working as soon as the package leaves the country. If it gets caught in customs or is just running late, I've got no clue what to do about that. I can't call and get any additional information from the post office, other than that it has left the country and is in transit.

*Edit* On a side note, I'm heading to the post office within the next hour or two. PM me or post if you would like to place an order that will ship today  Wink
