1081  Economy / Speculation / Re: Proudhon...can you please send me 1 BTC as you promised? on: January 15, 2014, 02:12:35 PM
I don't envy you Proudhon whatever you do implication my be more serious than they seems to be.

I don't know what this means, you're scaring me.  In any event, just sent.

How many people pushing bitcoin on this forum have a vested interest?

I think it's all.  All of them.
1083  Economy / Speculation / Re: Proudhon...can you please send me 1 BTC as you promised? on: January 15, 2014, 12:16:29 AM
Sent OP a PM.  Genuinely forgot about this.  He sent me an address a few months ago, but I need him to confirm that I can still use that one, or give me a new one, before I ship my last bitcoin off.  Once this one is gone I won't have anymore, plus I'm short on margin since it's clear bitcoin is done.
1084  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where I placed my bets on short-term bitcoin price. on: January 14, 2014, 11:55:17 PM
Back when we really were afraid that there was a good chance it was all going down the drain. Cheesy

Yeah, Oct/Nov 2011 probably took a few years off my life.  I just got IRC flashbacks.  Jesus, 2011, what a ride.
1085  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where I placed my bets on short-term bitcoin price. on: January 14, 2014, 11:47:36 PM
Proudhon I liked you better back then.

Back when?
1086  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will it hit $1000 again? on: January 14, 2014, 11:46:32 PM
Again, no it won't, but my tax attorney said that I need to stop betting on this stuff, so I won't be betting any more with fiat or bitcoin.  If it does hit $1000 again (which I know it won't because of sources), then I'll send the next person to post...my guitar pick and one of my socks.
1087  Economy / Speculation / Re: Confirmed Bad News Sources Thread - No FUD, Just Facts!!!1 on: January 14, 2014, 07:34:18 PM
Isn't this schtick getting a bit old, Proudhon? Surely you can come up with a new angle, repetition kills jokes.

That's kinda what I'm hoping for.
1088  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where I placed my bets on short-term bitcoin price. on: January 14, 2014, 06:10:24 PM
I think once you saw the poster you probably knew where I placed my bets  Grin. This is a serious post and just letting you guys know how I placed my bets and why. I am not trying to tell you how to place your bets or trying to make you guys sell or anything like that, so no flaming me please.

Anyway, I sold out around 7 bitcoins, or mostly all the bitcoins I could easily transfer to the exchange. I started before this last recent rally by selling half at $820. Didn't expect this recent rally, but sold the rest some hours ago for $840 after this rally failed. These are campbx prices and not MTgox so they are a lot lower, like $100 lower.

Bitcoin can go either way as there is nothing certain anymore but here is why I decided to place my bets for it going lower.

First, you should understand that only big speculators really control the price. They use their wealth to push the market where they want, then they hope you guys pick up the slack and they profit from that.

They tried twice to push bitcoin to over $1000 dollars and both times have failed to start any rally higher. Volume got super low and the demand for expensive bitcoins is just not there. This was unlike the situation with the first push to $1000 which had lots of mania and super high volume.

Since they probably spent a lot of money twice trying to push the market higher and failed, they will pull back and let the price slide back down. This way they can at least buy at say $400 and then try and push it up to $1000 again and sell at $1000.

Well, these are my thoughts anyway. I could be wrong as it could go either way and wouldn't be surprised either if it went up. But I feel more certain that it just has to go lower from here so that the big market players can make some money again. I sold half after the first push to $1000 failed, and sold the rest today.

Mmmmmm, I've analysed your analysis and I think you're being a bit too bullish here, Edward.  I think we can safely assume that anyone with big money has already internalized all of the confirmed bad news from sources and such, and without their support my backtesting shows that the conservative bearish case has the price leveling off around $100 for a while before bitcoin fully implodes later this year, or perhaps early next year, depending on a few factors.

Whether your bullish case is correct, or my conservative bearish case is, or my more likely aggressive panda bear case, it's clear at this point that everyone should SODL and not HODL, and if you can, short bitcoin at the highest margin levels possible.

Please translate to Chinese and post here.

i panic sold once and i felt so dumb that i've adopted the strict HODL policy and it's been working out for me so far

you guys should try it out too

I've moved to a pure SODL strategy, since we're clearly heading to zero.

Why are you still here when you think we are going to zero?

Just as the Chinese government has recently warned citizens of the dangers of bitcoin, I am warning citizens of bitcointalk of the dangers of bitcoins, to help as many people as possible.  Only Satoshi and maybe 2 or 3 other people will make any money from bitcoin.  Everyone else will lose money, and probably destroy their life, as the Chinese government has explained.
1091  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin - Broken trend line on: January 14, 2014, 04:48:51 PM
Of course this is a bear market, you don't need TA to see that.  We're clearly heading for sub $100 in the short term.  Might rebound to $150 or so before continuing to $0.  As all the societal usefulness has already been extracted from bitcoin, it's all downhill from here.  Duh.

Prooudhon, whats your logic? You dont think that in the coming months/Years that more people will use bitcoin as speculation and/or for currency?  Thanks in advance.

My logic is derived from clearly verified foreign language sources.  Mostly Chinese, but we're beginning to get some very bad news out of Russia.
1092  Economy / Speculation / Re: Confirmed Bad News Sources Thread - No FUD, Just Facts!!!1 on: January 14, 2014, 04:45:49 PM
More bad news, this time from Russia!
Paleontologists from the russian acadamy of sciences have discovered disturbing facts.

That's extremely disturbing, thanks for the thorough research!

I am a bit desparate now, since I fear an insect attack on the mammals coins! What do do?

SODL!  And SHORT!

More bad news, this time from Russia!
Paleontologists from the russian acadamy of sciences have discovered disturbing facts.

As russian paleonologist Arju Kiddn states the extinction of dinosaurs was commonly linked to a meteor impact. However recent research is about to revise this view.
While there is no dispute among paleontologists that crypto-currencies presented the backbone of the prehistoric dinosaur economy recent evidence suggests this was actually the reason for their downfall.
As Arju Kiddn explains 95% of the dinosaur population died excactly at 14:05PM GMT on 45312097 BC. This is too precise a time to consider a meteor impact a valid explenation, the shockwaves and dust would have required more time cover the whole surface.
The obvious explanation? Mammals were able to steal all coins from the dinosaurs. Wether this is due to inherent flaw in the hashing function used by the dinosaurs or a sudden advance in quantum computing on the side of the mammals is up for dispute, but the result cannot be denied. With their private keys compromised the dinosaurs lost. Every single coin.

(a dinosaur realizing what had happened, mere moments before comming ritual suicide with a tapiju)

As Arju Kiddn explains this must have been a devastating experience for the proud dinosaurs, causing most of them to commit ritual suicide with a tapiju ("Tar pit jump", Editors note). The remaining dinosaurs lost their will to live and died out in the coming weeks.

(a typical stone wallet as used by dinosaurs for cold storage, alas it offered no protection once the private keys were compromised)

Still, one wonders. What happened to all the coins stolen from the dinosaurs. Arju Kiddn has the answer. He states that recent advances in DNA sequencing finally provided scientists with this last crucial part of the puzzle. "Lemmings!", Arju Kiddn grins as he makes this final undisputable point, "its so obvious when you think about it. After stealing all the coins from the dinosaurs the lemmings, or, more precisely, their ancient ancestors had the biggest party on the planet ever. This phase of uninterrupted drug abuse and partying caused permanent brain and genetic damage, causing huge parts of the population to jump of cliffs. The genetic damage was so large even modern world lemmings still exhibit this suicidal behavior!"

(Lemmings, suicidal behavior and green hair directly linked to major drug abuse more than 45M years ago)

Given these recent discoveries Arju Kiddn warns from the dangers inherent in crypto-currencies. "Crypto-currencies caused the extinction of dinosaurs. Who says we will fare any better if we repeat this mistake? Sure, we could exterminate all lemmings, but would that be safe? I hear the bees are pretty pissed because of all the electro smog we are producing ..."

Thank you!  I've verified everything there and it all checks out.  We really need a more robust short market for bitcoin and other cryptos so that those of us who understand the futility of it all can benefit the eminent downfall.

What is your source? According to your link, it only says stuff about "2014 Clearance of Paying System", and does not mention anything Bitcoin related in any way.

He has internal chinese sources in chinese. You just translated wrong.

Proudhon, man, c'mon, really? Are we really doing this?

I mean, it's nice to see that you're optimistic about BTC again, but this kind of caricature is going to get a bunch of the newer folks thinking you're being sincere.

To be serious for a brief moment, this is the most bearish confirmed news of all.
1098  Economy / Speculation / Re: Confirmed Bad News Sources Thread - No FUD, Just Facts!!!1 on: January 12, 2014, 11:03:32 PM
It takes a while for enough market participants to internalize news to get things moving.  That seems to have happened now, so expect the downward trend to continue until bitcoins are worth $0.
1099  Economy / Speculation / Re: Confirmed Bad News Sources Thread - No FUD, Just Facts!!!1 on: January 12, 2014, 06:19:49 PM
...It's obvious bitcoin has gone as far as it can go, but any other thoughts about this devastating news?

This is very bearish too:

Wow!  You're right.  Thanks for confirming this.  I don't have time to do it right now, so perhaps you can list the major bad points from that link so those who can't read Chinese can understand just how bad it is.  Thanks again.

Look at BTC-e order book someone pushing the price up ? a wall of 1000 BTC @ $850

that a really nice wall, NO ONE SELL INTO IT or i will personally bitch slap you.  Cheesy

Overstock will take it out.

doubtful

that wall is nearly 1million dollars.

The Chinese government will probably start buying stuff on Overstock so that Overstock is forced to crash the price and destroy bitcoin.  You heard it hear first.
