17 blocks already today. We could break the record! Grin

WOW!!!! 20 blocks so far today.  Grin

Is this a new record?

Hi gigavps,

did you receive any information about GLBSE users, who hold bond issued by you?

Thanks

I have not.

Looks like the best day so far for satoshidice.
That you, GigaVPS?

Nope. I quit when I was ahead.

Great to hear the new server changes are working out Smiley

Yes, variable difficulty will be coming soon. I'm currently working on some changes to support multiple mining servers. I thought that might be a good idea to do first as it will make it easier to test var diff.

It could also be useful to have a couple more servers when ASICs turn up. Wink

Are you sure you would even need extra servers with variable diff? You already have rollNTime support so the most requests coming to the pool server are share submissions. With a variable diff solution that uses X-Mining-Hashrate you could greatly reduce the pools current load. You could also fall back to the server calculating the var diff to keep share submission below a maximum threshold of say 24 shares per minute.

I guess my main point is that IMHO it is a higher priority to have variable difficulty working with either GBT or stratum than to have multiple pool servers. You might never need an extra pool server with these other pieces in place.

Giga should be getting the information.

I have received coins but no information.

Someone please call an ambulance, I think I am having a heart attack.

In the meantime, while I'm in limbo, before the paramedics revive me, I am going to check that the temperature in hell hasn't dropped below zero.

I submitted a block removal request to Comcast about an hour ago and just got an email back from them telling me they have removed the block on the new IPs.    So not only did Comcast actually respond (a hell freezing over worthy response), but they responded appropriately and positively... WITHIN AN HOUR.

Someone call the $#@#$%@ new stations, because this is a @#$@ banner day in Internet History right here.  Comcast actually responded, responded in a timely fashion, and responded appropriately.  Holy crap.  Maybe I really am dead.

(Comcast email addresses should now be able to receive email)

Quoted for when comcast inevitably effs up again....  Roll Eyes

Why you using such an outdated version of cgminer?

I have found that cgminer 2.7.6 is very stable and is better able to keep rigs full of work. I would recommend to anyone to upgrade to 2.7.6 if you are using cgminer. I have done this for my entire farm and have seen good improvements.
1128  Economy / Services / Re: Gigamining / Teramining on: October 12, 2012, 11:44:32 AM
I would also say:

I'd like that you can continue with gigamining and teramining.

Thanks for all the extra work you are doing.

Hi szuetam,

I am continuing to work with counsel on these issues. I still have yet to receive anything from glbse.

Hopefully we can all forget about the drama for a weekend.

Best,
gigavps

Not to worry, Santa Claus just initiated the transfer to the Easter Bunny's account for full release sometime after Tuesday 2015.
How did you find out about this? Did Elvis tell you on the UFO? Elvis can't keep his damn mouth shut.

I think it was somewhere around Uranus...  Tongue

That's what I would call a clean shutdown!  Wink If it really works, of course...

If it was a clean shutdown, i wouldn't have needed to upload all of my AML info last night.

Sorry, bad wording. Better:

This is what should have been there from the beginning, to call it a clean shutdown

If it works now, though, I personally am decently satisfied. Sorry for you.

Then I guess you received your coins?

gigavps, I checked "Share with issuers? Check this box if you wish to share the above information with issuers for assets you have bought." checkbox to let you know how many bonds I bought from your assets, I hope this to be enough to help you.

Hi johnlu,

I will notify everyone in this thread when I have received the list of asset holders and the BTC that was in GLBSE. Without the list of asset holders, it will be tough to do much of anything. I am also continuing to work with counsel to find a way forward without an exchange.

Best,
gigavps

You can now login and provide an email address for contact, a withdrawl bitcoin address, and a checkbox to share that information with the asset issuers. I'm assuming it will include such information as "how many shares you have" to the asset issuers.

I have complete the GLBSE AML forms to receive the gigamining coins back.

Did you have to provide all 3 forms of identification: photo ID, proof of address, and (the most amateurish) photo of you with hold up a piece of paper with your GLBSE username and date?

I've submitted all of the info requested.

Go bother gigavps or meni. Here's a clue. GIGAVPS lost 40,000 bitcoins (half a million fucking dollars) of investor money.

Hi usagi,

I'm not sure where you get your figures from, but it seems like you are getting the wrong information. Also, it does not help your case that you are trying to drag me into whatever mess you have created here.

Now, please continue trolling whomever else or whatever else you are doing here.

Best regards,
gigavps
1136  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [2000 GH/s] EMC: No Fee/PPS/DGM/Dwolla Payout/SMS/Yubikey/GBT/Vardiff on: October 10, 2012, 12:17:53 AM
I did some testing this afternoon using three workers on PPS.

Numbers:

combined daily earnings reported by website for all devices on 1 worker on us3. 0.61 BTC/day
combined daily earnings reported by website for one worker per device using us1,us2,us3 0.64 BTC/day
combined daily earnings reported by website for one worker per device using us3. 0.69 BTC/day

Hash rates reported by web server were 1.90Gh/s, 1.98GH/s, and 2.10GH/s

This is because us1 has the highest "share" variance because the server is targeting you to submit less shares per minute by using a higher diff. The more shares you submit per minute, the lower your variance.

Looks like day two is over and there is still nothing from GLBSE. I guess we will keep patiently waiting for Nefario to deliver what he has said he would. I still don't understand why the GLBSE application can't be brought back up with trading/transfering disabled.

What sort of business is it?

It's a Bitcoin related, internet based business. I'm happy to reveal more to interested potential investors if they are happy to agree confidentiality.

Hi Charlie,

Your ideas are worth next to nothing, just like everyone else's ideas. I give all ideas a value of -10 to 20 dollars.

The only thing that matters is implementation.

Best,
gigavps

I was at 8 and that was too low... I moved it up to 16 and that still seems too low for some people.  Of course, when the ASICs are out, I think 10 is absolutely reasonable, if the minimum hashrate on a given unit is 4.5 GH/s.  Right now, though, I think 10 might be too low for GPU miners... not from a technical perspective, but from an emotional one: it drives their variance up too high for comfort is the feeling I get from people.

I think we might need to go back to the drawing board and shoot for a variable difficulty based on server load, vs a getwork target... though that adds quite a bit of complexity.  I'm not sure what metric would be the best to account for server load, as there are many other factors that come into play just looking at the system load in top or some such.

I would really like to see a scenario where:

  • Pool server checks for the X-Mining-Hashrate header and calculates a diff based on the reported hash rate similar to what conman originally suggested. The lowest diff is still 1.
  • If X-Mining-Hashrate doesn't exist, fall back to 20-30 shares per minute per worker target.
  • If the server load is too high, move the lowest diff allow from 1 to 2.

What do you think?

feedback helps us prioritize what to do next.

Please keep my GPUs profitable long after the reward halves and ASICs arrive.   Kiss
