I wish they cared, but they don't see any way to change the System.

They don't know this is by design.

Governments do not own “their” citizens or the territory of their country.

http://www.compasscayman.com/cfr/2013/07/12/Why-financial-privacy-/#.U5MB-i6VVUA.twitter

there's quite a bit of alternative opinion that claims that your SSN is a claim by the US on its citizens.

Quote
The Social Security number is an important weapon in the hands of the territorial gangsters (people who use deception, fraud, coercion, and terror to claim "jurisdiction" (so-called) over people who happen to be in a certain geographic territory). Territorial gangsters (TGs) love to create systems that enable them to dominate and control their victims so they can live off the fruit of their labor like parasites or cannibals. They use the Social Security number to keep track of their victims. Other agencies, such as Credit Bureaus and Banks, also use the Social Security number (SS#) to identify people.

The 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution created a creature called a "U.S. citizen" - euphemism for victim or slave. U.S. citizens are subject to federal and other statutory jurisdiction. The TGs took many other steps to turn individuals into victims or slaves. One of these steps was the introduction of the Social Security system. Practically all these steps have been flagrantly fraudulent. The TGs like to operate on the basis that because you've applied for their SS# (and stated on the application that you're a "U.S. Citizen"), you are their slave and they own you and can tell you what to do or what not to do. They won't put it this way, but this is the basis on which they operate.

How could I get from Turkey to Lebanon? Ferry?

Oh... you are right. I forgot that Lebanon doesn't share a common border with Turkey. Then the only option will be to travel via Syria. But that option is very unwelcome, as the fighting is raging on there. Anyway, most of the Mediterranean coast is controlled by Assad's army, including major cities such as Tartous and Latakia.

Yeah I've been looking into it the past couple hours and then I suddenly realized how bad things are over there and it's probably not worth getting kidnapped Sad Hell I should probably skip Lebanon too but I bet it's beautiful

The video is of 2007. So the time-frame is over. The Americans invaded Iraq in 2003, and they are still occupying that country. But none of the others (Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Iran) are currently under American occupation. Looks like Clark's plan was vetoed by Obama, after he was elected as the POTUS in 2008.  Grin

I'm really unknowledgeable on any of these recent ongoings, but training Syrian rebels sounds similar to the special forces training SVA before the US officially joined the fray in Vietnam

well, guess that plan of mine to trek from Athens to the pyramids overland is out of the question Sad

lol... I guess that this might be your planned route:

Greece ==> Turkey ==> Lebanon ==> Israel ==> Egypt.

The US drones are not active anywhere along the route, but remember that Lebanon is quite close to Syria. Also, some 1 million Syrian refugees are currently stationed at Lebanon.  Grin

AFP – An American fighting for a hardline Islamist group carried out a deadly suicide bombing, US officials said Friday, in the first such case in the war.

The confirmation came amid growing fears over the flood of foreigners into Syria, with no end in sight in the three-year war that has already left 162,000 people dead.

“The American citizen involved in the suicide bombing in Syria is believed to be Moner Mohammad Abu-Salha,” State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said in a statement.

Abu-Salha is thought to have been behind a truck bombing against regime forces on Sunday in the northern province of Idlib.

Interesting...first time I've heard of this happening. Prayers go out to those struggling.
1150  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: June 07, 2014, 02:45:58 AM
How much gold is that? Does anyone realistically own that much? I was told filling up a 2L bottle with gold dust would make it weigh 40kg.

I could believe that I would hedge 10% of my Bitcoin fortunes to gold in the next 10x upmove. For every BTC10k it'd mean the sale of BTC1k, multiplied by about $5000...

For $5M you get 125 kg of gold.

Certainly there are people who own a tonne of gold (1/180,000 of the gold stock) but they are fewer in number. It is much easier to buy 1/180,000 of all BTC, since that can be done by investing a manageable $44k...

What if you could go to Africa to buy some at a low low price of $989.31/oz? It's an instant steal...

Let's imagine for a second there is going to be some kind of proof-of-stake based voting mechanism in Mastercoin, would you like to have the ability to transfer voting rights or should this be prohibited by all means? An implication of the transfer of voting rights is that votes may be traded which may, or may not be something to aim for.

If transferring voting rights are allowed, would it be easy for the owner of the Mastercoin stake to call back those voting rights at any time?
1154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: The Official Mastercoin Foundation, Master Protocol & Mastercoin Thread on: June 06, 2014, 10:44:21 PM
Well, you'd need to clarify which money (from where?) is distributed, if this is the case at all. I really hope the winners of this hackathon do have plans for the future related to Mastercoin. At least I know the second place does.

edit:
One of the mind-blowing properties of gold is its weight... most people do not really understand it because they haven't had the "luxury" of dealing in any significant quantity. Yet if one took a 2lt soft-drink bottle and filled it up with gold dust, that bottle would weigh approximately 40kg.

Storing 1 ton of gold requires something like a 37cm cube that one can fit in a safe or even a ...backpack. Silver stacking is a real problem in terms of sizes, but gold... well... not really. This weight/space relation allows gold to be hidden in many resourceful ways, if one is so inclined to hide it.

I understand that in terms of portability it'll never beat crypto.
1156  Other / Politics & Society / Re: An Online, Distributed, Decentralized, Purely Democratic, CryptoGovernment? on: June 05, 2014, 10:58:46 AM
Democracy is a terrible basis for a system of government.

I go out to dinner with 3 of my friends. At the end of the meal, the bill comes. I say "let's split this equally", another says "no, let's just pay for our own", and another says "why doesn't 5flags just pay for it all?" We discuss it, and take a vote. All three of my friends vote that I should pay the whole bill.

Does this create a right? Do my friends have the right to have their dinners paid for? Does it create an obligation? Do I have an obligation to pay the bill?

Most people would answer "no" to both those questions. Majority will creates neither rights, nor obligations.

Ever seen a picture of three wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for dinner?

you had veto rights :p

Um, looking at the upcoming crowdsales- some look good, but projects like "Genercoin" are not very inspiring- what with the lack of text formatting and the 'breaking bad' layout for their video. Ouch.

The other projects look better, but it begs the question- isn't crowdfunding with mastercoin itself a bit dangerous for a startup if the market is so thin? The whole point is to get money they can spend right now to fund development. But if you're funding development with an illiquid asset (which to be fair may be worth a a ginormous sum of money one day) and it's not worth much TODAY, aren't you kind of shooting yourself in the foot? Don't you really just need Bitcoin?

How so? (serious question)

I'm trying to comb through my emails on zathras's (or was it Dexx's?? or Bitoy? no idea) github proposal on this...but I cannot find it amidst all the others. It was first brought up like a month ago though. IIRC it was a simple matter of doing so. I will reserve commenting on your question too much as I can't answer it without that text, so I apologize for that. I emailed zathras to make him aware of your question, though I'm sure he'd eventually see it anyway.

anyway, that was what the open request for feedback a few posts back was all about. We got it to pass with the board so that bitcoins can be raised directly.
1158  Other / Politics & Society / Re: USA is getting adversely affected by Immigrants on: June 05, 2014, 09:53:45 AM

Not so any longer. Seen people abuse the marriage system, family relation to get their entire family into US. They take more than they give because of subsidy and freebie. And they abuse the credit system and commit tax fraud with no consequence.

And White Americans don't do any of this? Typical guff. You're stereotyping and making mass generalisations.

Leina is referring specifically to the immigrants that used to add net value to the US. You're taking a a few sentences out of their context. See text right above the text you quoted.
1159  Other / Politics & Society / Re: USA is getting adversely affected by Immigrants on: June 05, 2014, 09:32:35 AM
I blame the welfare state (wrought by selfishness and political pandering) and erosion of a free market, otherwise immigrants would add value. America is destroying herself. Sorry if I don't go more in-depth on substantiating this opinion.

Can you elaborate on what you mean though by 'erosion of culture'? Culture is a dynamic idea.
