1141  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Behavioral Change!!! on: December 07, 2023, 03:02:36 PM
Does any of feel behavioral change in you based on the win/loss in gambling. Myself had experienced it, and personally I used to be happy and I used to be polite with my family members and kid whenever I am on profit. On the day of losing it changes exactly in the opposite way, even for simple things I get much anger. Particularly while giving food to kid patience is must. On winning days I let him take his own time and eat. On the losing days I used to shout at him. I'm addicted, and I want fellow gamblers to make a self analysis at regular interval and be on the safer side.

This is not funny even though it is coming out funny and you are not the only one in this  Grin

Majority of the people are having this transfer of aggression to people around them, they get irate by their losing and begin to behave in a rude and threatening manner and when they win then the family will be cool and merry.

Is this not a sign that gambling is not for fun  Huh Grin This is the sign because if you get angry because you lose then you didn't actually playing for the fun but the profit that you are expecting.
1142  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling with emotions on: December 07, 2023, 02:26:56 PM
Op what you want is a rejuvenated repeating because such discussion of emotions with gambling always turn out like that. So I would suggest locking this thread so that the ongoing threads can continue instead of dublicating it.
1143  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will you say within your limits to encourage responsible gambling? on: December 07, 2023, 02:07:30 PM

For example, suppose you encounter a gambler who has wagered $200 at the table and is currently winning $6k. Would you express to them, "Hey, you're up $6k, and you initially entered this table with $200. Walk away, Take your winnings, go!" or will you say, "It is very admirable to know when to stop"?

Sometimes some staff members of a game house say this but not like they are going to stop booking games for you if you insist. They could do this in a subtle manner by stylishly encouraging the player to stop then if he starts to complain of losing part of his winning, it could in form like" stop complaining if you lose, afterall you have been winning and you can stop playing if you think you have started losing out or you can rest "

I consider such as subtle discouragement from playing and we also have to remember that some of those working in the physical casinos or game houses are relatives and friends, so such relationships exist. Mostly when a lady is a worker, she could advise the brother or boyfriend not to continue but maybe not openly, perhaps slyly.
1144  Economy / Economics / Re: Idea and money are very important to investment. on: December 06, 2023, 04:53:44 PM

Do you believe idea and money are very important in investment? Or can you succeed with money without idea in that investment.

Both are very important and for me I believe idea is more important. Some people have the money but they lack Idea to put the money into proper use by themselves and even when they are able to get someone else to help them build the structure, they still lack wisdom to know what they are doing with the money but someone who has the idea without his personal money can get a loan to finance the idea that he has.

Moreover someone who has that idea has more chances to grow faster than the person only bringing in money for another person to invest for them.
1145  Economy / Economics / Re: Inventing a job is better than finding a job on: December 06, 2023, 04:23:43 PM
People were tired of finding jobs, working under people and getting paid a peanut, instead some will prefer working being self employed and they start this by first sitting down to think about a problem, reason on the possible solution they can offer to that and engage the launch into the market, we don't have to limit our capacity, efforts and mentality or the way we think about what we can offer or deliver, it's better that we start something no matter how small than long years of serving others working for them.

These days being self employed have proved to be more profitable and fulfilling, at least you have opportunity to create extra time or your own time for yourself. Being self employed lately is really encouraging with the rate of unemployment and waiting for government to provide jobs is an illusion , the jobs that are improvised are not enough to cater for the teaming youth population that come out of school year in year out and you can't compare that to the numbers of old people due for retirement, you see that is part of the problem. Even those due for retirement still want to stay longer because of the salary because they are not sure how their lives will turn out. I think it is better to be creative after coming out of school and become a job creator instead of being a job searcher.
1146  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you deal with high transaction fee on BTC on gambling? on: December 06, 2023, 03:48:05 PM

that's nice of the roobet to credit unconfirmed tx.
i wonder if they have some issue with double spending and the user who did it won big.

If roobet is crediting unconfirmed transfers then this is really commendable.

How do you deal with this problem?

Have you tried converting to at least usdt? I think most casinos have such option for deposit and you won't have the issue of high fee with stablecoin.
1147  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ever heard about financing a gambler? on: December 06, 2023, 02:34:14 PM

but it'll take a gambling addict or a scammer to ask someone to invest their hard earned money in gambling

Even someone that is genuine might innocently ask for that kind of collaboration. I think it is to collaborate with each other, you bring your expertise in predicting and I fund the bet. This has been going on with some friends because the other party don't have money to bet it but this usually don't last because when the bet don't win then there won't be the mystery of must win anymore and the financer will naturally slow down or give up. It usually happens where the financer is restricted from gambling either he is from a religious home or under strict rule that if he contravenes will attract severe punishment.
1148  Other / Politics & Society / Re: War in world questions on: December 06, 2023, 02:10:49 PM
I hope you have gone to hide your head in a cave that no single bumb can locate it or destroy it as you are instigating WW3. Those with sane mind don't want world war for the third time because they know the destructive nature of it. More people will be alive if only two countries are in disagreement of war than much numbers of countries rolling out their drone and armies. But for your information, USA, CANADA or MEXICO are not going into war. They are the next to host the world cup.  Grin
1149  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What according to you should be the age to retire from gambling ? on: December 06, 2023, 12:48:08 PM
You'll think of retiring when you are not having fun in gambling. After all, this is entertainment, right? Why would anyone deprive themselves of happiness with gambling? Though it is risky, one could lose as much money as possible if they don't manage the risk well. But with the thrill that we can feel here, it definitely brings some kind of satisfaction we cannot find in other services, or things we could buy, or any other form of entertainment.

Once you are a gambler, you find satisfaction when you're gambling.

The buttom line is at the end if a gambler seize to be making money both from gambling and otherwise, they will be forced to stop it. Whether it is done for leisure/fun or for financial gains, it involves money to embark on it and if it is not being sustained when you consistently lose, you go out of it. People who depend on gambling for profit will need to keep profiting and those who are playing for fun also will need third parties that will help them sustain it, so whichever way we look at it, we need money to continue staking for fun or for profit no matter the age bracket.
1150  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips on staying responsible. on: December 06, 2023, 08:51:06 AM
Let's discuss the unique challenges of responsible gambling in the world of cryptocurrencies.

Crypto gambling can be fun, but it's important to keep our financial boundaries intact.

Share your tips and thoughts on staying responsible in this digital realm.

I think the best way to stay responsible and safe in the world of gambling is to have an average amount of human common sense. And just like with almost anything else, common sense usually is quite effective and keeps you out of trouble. But that only goes for people who actually listen to their common sense and not those people who ignore it and do the bad thing anyway.

In gambling, doing the bad thing anyway (because YOLO lol) is extremely common. Much more common than anywhere else, I would argue.

LoL, gamblers are the last people you'll tell to depend on their common sense. Don't tell me that you're the only one that doesn't realize that common sense ain't common anymore, not everyone has it, and some has ignored their common senses to the extent that they're no more active, lol. My point is, it'll take more practicality than just depending on your guts or common sense to stay responsible in gambling.

On a normal ground, common sense is not common because in the midst of what looks simple and common most people act in the most ridiculous manner that will get you wondering and they have their own reasons for acting that way.

When it comes to gambling, there is nothing like common sense because it has been taken over by the emotions especially if a gambler has started losing his money. He doesn't think straight anymore but all his focus is wishing to get back his money and very many times he chase it in action of staking higher without proper calculation and making more mistakes.
1151  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Math and Gambling on: December 06, 2023, 07:25:14 AM
You can't win gambling if you only know math. Gambling requires luck to win. Because we have seen that sometimes strong teams lose to weak teams. So it is wrong to say that only maths is required to win at gambling, you need both luck, maths and skill to win at gambling.

Quote
math and gambling seems to go with each other, what do you guys think? Am I wrong or right?

Like Op eventually said, they both could go with each other and not one alone for the other.

Maths can be used for certain games though like for poker games or cards and a few others but definitely not for majority of gambling games. For example in sports, you can't rely on maths alone, you need the calculations if at all to know the goal strength of players, teams home and away but the football skill and knowledge you have is very important to your gambling success too. So maths and skills are not in isolation from each other.

1152  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do not gamble with Loan Money~otherwise you will be in danger like me on: December 05, 2023, 06:51:43 PM
This is too sad news op. why you did it? Gambling with loan money is double risky then gamble with your own money. if you loss your own money then You may suffer but there will be no pressure to repay the loan. if you gamble with the loan and lose it then you lose money and on the other hand you have to repay the loan by earning money from another source. you have taken a big risk, if you win the gambling then your loss might be recovered but because of the loss you have to repay the loan which is a lot of trouble. And not only the principal amount but also the interest has to be paid. After that gamble according to your ability sometime.  Stay away from activities like gambling with loan
You don't need to ask why OP did it, it's obvious that OP got addicted to gambling, I mean that's the only option as to why OP got in this pickle, no way that a healthy person could get to this level of depravity in gambling. I think OP gets the consequences of his/her actions, pretty sure that this is a cautionary tale to what gambling addiction does to someone financially, mentally and physically.

It is unfortunate but an uncontrollable urge that some gamblers fall into. One of the major reason for taking loan in gambling is where the gambler has lost out but he is trying to come back into the game. This is the real factor that causes it. Ordinarily, gamblers don't begin their game with loan but they are forced to do that because of the losses that they begin to chase in the middle of the game. I have seen seen many like that in offline gambling places that ended up dropping their iPhones and android phones to come back at a later day to retrieve their phones when they pay up their debts. So loses can make a gambler without control to take loan and at the end they end up not having back the loses they were chasing. Gamblers need to learn to let go when it doesn't go their way.
1153  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sympathetic gamblers looses itself on: December 05, 2023, 02:54:00 PM

Yes, unfortunately the majority of people have to lose for others to win... that is how gambling works. You have a  Sad face when you lose and a  Smiley face when you win.

That is funny and sarcastic too. Yeah sure from the countenance of a player you should discern if it was a winning or losing when he is done. I usually don't feel sympathetic when a gambler losses because I believe before you go in there for the bet, you already understood what it is and that the pendulum would swing anywhere. This is the reason gamblers need to risk what can still make there face look cool.
1154  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Importance of Gambling to the society on: December 05, 2023, 02:20:39 PM
Sadly it varies from society to society, country to country. If I talk about my place it is not as great as your place, I assume by your writings. You said in your country citizens aren't allowed to gamble and with gambling tax money government are building many healthcare infrastructures. Well that's a very positive thing. I didn't knew that, gambling platforms and casinos were involved with charity works. Now if I talk about my society, my country it's the opposite. It's spread like a wildfire, from young to old everyone is directly or indirectly involved with gambling activity. The sad thing is there are rules and regulation but the government aren't able to control it. It's harming the common folks. The governments should at least protect the citizens from gambling like your one does.

In such country where you see rules are available but government is not handling situations well, it effect is majorly on the younger generation because they abuse gambling and you see under age gamblers alot afterall who would check the casinos from stopping them to gamble since the casinos are there to make money. The moment where there are gambling rules but are not followed even the house edge becomes absolute and extortion may also become a routine.

Government need to step up in places where casinos are freely allowed to do whatever they like because government slso need revenue in tax from them to carry out their social amenity function that will also generate employment for the people of the country.
1155  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cash out or keep playing? on: December 05, 2023, 01:45:58 PM
Usually when you hit a big profit , you should insta cash out and buy yourself something or you will end up making another deposit with the money you just withdrew a few hours or days ago. However ,if you have hot streak day , you should give it a try and keep playing a bit more but as soon as you realize you are just losing money , just leave and cash out for good.  Cool
That's what gamblers who win big should do. But the reality is some gamblers continue gambling because they still have the belief that they can win big again. But as we know, greed will not help him to win any more money. He had to realize that.

Withdrawing winning money is something that gamblers who win a lot of money should do. It was something he rarely got, so it was the best moment to cash it in and buy something to celebrate.

Some gamblers believe that when you give up or cashout and go then you have given up your chances of winning more, this is usually the views of those that are addicts. So the idea for them is to continue playing and trying more luck . But for a random gambler or the newbie, a one time big winning is enough for them to run away feeling better despite how much that they have lost through the time before the winning. The losses are what an an addict consider more to keep going and not running away.
1156  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you make gambling a profession - a full time job on: December 05, 2023, 01:12:04 PM

Ideally betting like a pro requires a lifestyle change and when you take up gambling as a lifestyle you will experience significant financial changes.

What aspect of financial challenges are you expecting? Is it negative or positive growth because there is no guarantee with being a professional gambler. No doubt that you would also be making some profit but he will also be losing big because he will have to stake higher. I believe maybe streamers can have probably a steady outcome either they are in collaboration with the casino but to be a independent professional gambler doesn't have a guarantee of financial break through.
1157  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Phishing scam on (exchanges) altcoins addresses on: December 05, 2023, 12:23:35 PM
It is good that you brought this up op, so that guys go know wetin dey sup abt these scammers wey dey search for means to collect people money. Although, me I never experience this before but na eyes opener to guys wey dey expose their wallet anyhow.

Another lesson be say people no need to dey lazy about things concerning their account. To go copy your address from your exchange wallet wey you want send coins to is more reliable, no joke with am because if the money don go another scammer wallet, dem no fit send am back.
1158  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: House rents frustrating while solutions are ignored on: December 05, 2023, 11:21:58 AM

Imagine houses built between 2018-2023 where a single rooms rent is placed @ #130K which the rent fee is evaluated according to the nature of the economy and the cost of building materials which would be extremely expensive and houses built between 1990s-2017 charging its house same 1 single rooms at same rates at #130K even when the houses were build when the economy was kindly impressing comparing to today's.

My broda e no matter oo. E dey inconsequential wen dem build the house that na why house and land still be the best investment for naija. Oya see, shebi you know say that old house go still need repairs and maintenance, so if landlord go market dem no go give am dat old price na, him go buy on current price so na the thing be that. If person pack in now dem go request for repairs for inside the house and na still new price for materials wey landlord go buy.

Also, owner of house or landlord na still part of the country and dey go same market, transport, pay school fees for children, so na the one wey you get you go still take sustain yourself.

The bulk of the issue na bad economy, make government fix the economy and rejuvenate price control system.
1159  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Every entering price remains profitable... Buy Bitcoin on: December 05, 2023, 10:48:35 AM
Bitcoin has performed well since last 6 months despite the predictions flying say the price go go back to $10,000 but e no happen and na so the year don dey waka finish. This na enough reason to buy some amount of bitcoin keep for this halving bull wey dey come because it shows more people don hodl bitcoin and acceptance and trust don dey come more. This year halving bull potential is very high as the dominance too na big plus for the ride next year.
1160  Economy / Economics / Re: Goverments must have good plan very soon on: December 04, 2023, 04:33:43 PM

But goverments should have some plan i wait airdrop of money for each people AT least 2000-3000$ without working ubi income

You can keep waiting for airdrop money while other people are struggling the little they can to survive. There are no free money, even in refugee camps people don't get that. Some people in the past prefer to be listed in refugee camps because some government and NGOs take care of them but not happening the way it was.

If you are waiting for airdrop money maybe you can wait for another pandemic like some countries were magnanimous to show financial support to their people but that is not what you need because it is not sustaining.
