What is wrong with wallet and block explorer? Transfer to my wallet is still pending after more than 2 hours without any confirmation. Block explore also shows last block found was 39808 long time ago. Can someone help me?

The difficulty is real high right now. Might be a while before the next block is found.

good but your already as far in as your going to go with uro and you wont share the info so why waste the time, just to bemuse yourself as the battle for legitimacy rages on this thread?

I won't name the companies because of all the FUD flying around. I trust myself not to misuse this information, and the future of uro is still uncertain.
If these companies withdraw their support due to bad publicity it will kill this coin.
Everyone still has to make their own decisions
I still say the urea is real and this will be proven.
That's enough.

Here here! Like you mentioned before, if people want to find out they can get off their asses and do some footwork.

I don't have solar! But I do hope to have it someday. I don't have the income or the ability right now to get it. I'm happy things worked out well for the family. I've been ill lately too and I'm starting to make a comeback. I know what you guys went through with that.
1184  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Moderated] [ANN][URO] A Real Long Term Currency: 1 Uro = 1 Metric Tonne Urea on: August 06, 2014, 03:17:08 AM
Coinasaur, nobody involved is going to tell you anything, especially in response to accusations.
The group behind this is taking measures to remain in the background.
Call it a scam all you want, but when the urea lands, it's big.
Give me a couple hours, I'll bet I can tell you what port the shipment is coming to and possibly the name and registration of the vessel.
Don't know how long I can work on it, I just got out of the hospital a couple hours ago and I'm still very weak.
But I'll find it, if the port records are available online as I now know what I'm looking for.

Oh no, what's wrong pete?
1185  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Moderated] [ANN][URO] A Real Long Term Currency: 1 Uro = 1 Metric Tonne Urea on: August 06, 2014, 03:16:30 AM
Shut up Bitcycle.

Nope.  Coinasaur is not acting in good faith, and I will respond to him accordingly.

Well I will agree, first Coinasaur asks about buying fertilizer directly and then changes the subject about wanting to invest in urocoin so that's a bit suspect. Don't shut up Bitcycle but use a little more diplomacy maybe? Smiley

No, I asked about how I would go about getting the fertilizer once I was to purchase the Uro. I have not changed any subject, you guys are the ones doing that. All I'm asking is that the GES rep who contacted me give me a way to verify that what I have been told was true. Their reply was that I should "invest in good faith" which is not reassuring at all...

But since you guys like to attack people asking legitimate questions you are making me stray off course with your attempts to shift the topic away from the real questions I am asking.

Edit: Its 10pm here. Time for bed. I will update in the morning if GES replies with something other than a generic auto response this time...

The email they sent me was very clear at least for sending them very basic contact info:

Please provide your:
1:  Full company details (inc. company numbers and office address)
2:  passport copy or form international ID
3:  Phone numbers (none mobile/cell)
4:  Legal representative
5:  office details

I understand you may not want to give them your passport copy, but if you represent a legal investment entity then you should have an LLC or some other public face that can safely furnish points 1,3,5, and 5. Point 2 is required for actual purchase however. This stuff can be used to make high explosives, they need your face and address in case you're looking to blow up the county outhouse.
1186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SLR] SolarCoin - PoW reward for solar energy | the GREEN KING of Crypto on: August 06, 2014, 03:08:11 AM
I started mining Litecoin back when it was actually profitable. Then I switched to feathercoin, love the community there, if anyone is interested in an amazing crypto community feathercoin is awesome! But then I started looking for alternatives and I ran across solarcoin based on a friends recommendation. I started mining it with my three 7950 radeon MSI twin frozr cards (yeah I'm old school haha), and kept mining them when the difficulty was under 1. Man I was getting thousands of coins a day! I sold a few of them, and I also traded a few to increase my holdings a little. I managed to pick up about 27 MH of cloud hashing power and a mined a few with that also for a bit, but the software GAW was using wasn't right and they didn't perform very well. There was a short period when I wasn't able to mine some SLR and I felt kind of odd about that so I picked up a GAW Fury and started hashing away again. I now have two Fury's on miningpoolhub pulling between 1.9 and 4.5 MH/s. But I've already accumulated around 200k coins, 150k of which are in cold storage until the sun burns out to help with inflation issues this coin is suffering.

And that's my solarcoin mining story. The community story is quite amazing also. Met some smart people, so smart I feel like a frog swimming amongst dolphins. What I've learning in the last 2 months about the environmental issues just being aware of solarcoins mission has both inspired me and made me ill. This coin HAS to succeed. Solar must be a major component of our power requirements in order to reverse environmental damage caused by a lack of foresight and technological barriers which now have been tackled. Not saying solar won't without solarcoin, it very well has in the last decade but solarcoin does fill a market void that has been available to other sources of energy for decades. It's the right technology, and right time for it.

Well here you go. heres what was sent to me from GES :

Thankyou for the email.  Our office/s is located in Hong Kong, at this stage we are using a serviced office to deal Urocoin in Central, Hong Kong.  We also have 2 other office in Hong Kong.  The main reason we are not publishing our phone numbers online is due to alarming numbers of "annoying" phone calls received on daily bases.

Please understand that investments in to Urocoin should be based on your own confidence.

So once again, not very inspiring... I asked for contact information and they gave me the email address I already have. A company brokering a deal that would eventually net them a huge gain would put me in touch with someone right away, not tell me that my investment should be "based on confidence."

This tells us nothing, not even proper English in the reply. Why would a multi-million dollar entity pull its contact info because of a few "annoying" calls?
Because it's Bullshit

I replied once again asking for them to put me in touch with somebody other than a sales associate. I bet I get another generic reply.

I will keep you posted

I notice you didn't include the email you sent them, but based on the response you must have asked why they don't publish a phone number.  Did you even mention you're looking to make a deal for urea?  It doesn't look like it.

Here's an idea- stop theorizing about how you think they should do business and complete the deal you claim you want to do.

Why would you let something like what you deem to be improper English keep you from making a ton of money?

See how that argument turns right around on you?

you should know the facts before you assume that I did not mention that I represent a large group interested in investing in cryptocurrecny. I stated earlier that I would not be releasing that information because I am speaking for a committee of about 10 people and they do not wish the name of our group to be publicly published here until something is finalized. However...

since you guys will probably try to pick me apart and defend this coin blindly I will go ahead and show you the edited bulk of the message, which was over 2 pages long

I recently came across a topic on a forum that deals with cryptocurrency and found your project to be quite intriguing. I am involved with a group interested in investing some capitol into cryptocurrencies and think that a currency backed by a commodity would be a very wise investment.  I brought it up with my investment group at our weekly meeting on (edited) and we came to a unanimous decision to contact you for further details. I have reviewed the contract that was provided to me and given copies to my legal department to review and they came back immediately with a question about the contract.
It seems that there are no company contacts for any of the alleged suppliers of the UREA. Before my group plans of investing this kind of capitol I would like to have my lawyers confirm some things. Do you have any contact information for your company other than an email address. That is a huge red flag for the legal dept. here as there would be no recourse for action if the deal fell through.
Also, it has been brought to my attention that there is no verification process for the shipment other than a document which is backed by companies that I have been unable to trace to a source. The phone number you have on your website led to a man who would not tell me where he was located and had no idea what Urocoin even was.
I would like some more information about your company and some contact information to set up a conference call with my group to clear up any legal issues before we proceed.

Are you looking to invest in urocoin itself, or looking to make a purchase with urocoin for urea?

Both. I will not, however purchase 12500 URO without getting confirmation from the entities involved, with documented proof (from them, not some guys on a crypto forum) that they are indeed who they claim to be. Since I am unable to trace most of the urea suppliers or people listed as being in charge of the Urea or anyone for that matter, you should understand my reluctance.

I understand your concerns and they are legit. There are some things you can do like contact RIVAA and ask them about their dealings with GES and who you can contact directly since they have already signed a deal. Keep in mind you're dealing with an eastern way of doing business. The culture of business is very different there and they won't proceed as you'd expect them too if you're only used to dealing with the western business model.

The SolarCoin "IPO" is almost over... Talk about hiding in plain sight, I think we've mastered it people!  Grin

On another, more important note. I've been wondering, if you had a 10kW system on your house (which I am planning to do as soon as I can afford it) and you have had it since 2010 which is as far back as the initial grant will go, then we know that you can claim around 60 SLR from the Generator pool immediately AND you continually get grants for another 7.5 SLR every six months (as we are temporarily set up now for grants) for as long as that system generates solar electricity. My question is this (and I don't know the answer):

What value would SolarCoin need to be (in fiat) for you to take the 5 minutes to claim those coins? Keeping in mind that if you stake them in a PoS model you could also earn 1.5% on those holdings?

Next question: What value would SolarCoin need to be for you to actively go out and purchase a system to generate solar power?

I think the first question is more relevant for the next 6 months to a year let's say and should be easier to answer. The second question has more variables as the time line moves out and is more difficult to predict. So let's stick with the first question.

Is it $0.10? $0.50? $1? More? My personal opinion is north of $1 somewhere but I'm highly biased.  Wink

Whatever that number is on average is where we need to be in the next 6-12 months to ensure the mission becomes successful.

I'd say comfortably $1.00-$1.50. I have a lot of repairs that need to get done to the house before I even think about adding a system, so $1.50 would be enough. That would mean the SLR market cap would have to be $40,000,000 however. In a year I don't see that happening. In 3 years however I do see a lot of activity, especially if everything is worked out and the grant program is moving full steam ahead.

Since the ultimate goal is PoS, why favor Option 1 over Option 3?

I vote Option 3, unless for some reason people think Option 1 would lead to a larger price rise.

Option 1 or 1B would produce a couple million fewer coins into circulation, so the price might rise a bit faster and higher. But I don't think it would be a big difference. We might have 33 million coins in circulation when we switch to PoS instead of 35 million, something like that. About 5-10% fewer coins.

Option 3 might give us a somewhat better chance of persuading pools to switch to the fork. But I don't know enough about how pools operate to have an informed opinion about those prospects. Anyone want to weigh in that?

Instead of persuading pools, why don't we setup our own Solarcoin pool with 0 pool fee ? It cant be so hard. If there someone experienced about pool setup, I can provide a server on azure.

I assume you mean for the purposes of forking the coin successfully once the algorithm is done?

Yes exactly.

We can start trying build a pool fot the current algorithm and when the new one is ready, replace it.

Finally I managed to setup a Solarcoin Pool  Grin Grin Grin

I am mining there now and testing block finds and payments. This pool is mostly for learning purposes. When the new source code available, I will update it. If the big pools refuses to upgrade, we can use this pool. If needed, I can give administrator user and passwords to the Solarcoin Board.

It uses a medium size server with 2 cores and 3.5GB ram. I can easily upgrade server later.

http://slrpool.cloudapp.net/MPOS/public/index.php

I registered but my confirmation email was never received. Sad
