Nice price of QCN on poloniex.

we should reach again 0.005 soon   Smiley Smiley

Please not so fast. Let's me instamine QCN a little more.  Grin
Lol now hard to mine.

Yep diff has somehow 5 folds since I check today's morning. It always relates to the price. Sad

Many people hopped to QCN due to this pump.
1182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Mining on: June 17, 2014, 06:35:59 PM
is it possible to mine with cpu and gpu at the same time?

Yes, I am doing it on multiple machines.

Anyone have any luck with any pools?  It seems every pool I connect to I have to babysit since the connections drops every few minutes.  I guess all the pools are still under severe attack.

No, pool software is not ideal, cryptonote ecosystem is in early stage.

Dev, thank you for mentioning my pool, I got big fish there.
I uploaded latest blockchain.bin for Linux directly from my pool, hot and spicy. Guys, use it to speed up sync.

BTW, I noticed that http://qcn.cryptostats.org/ is out of sync. Is there another block explorer?
1184  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Mining on: June 17, 2014, 05:05:59 PM
moneropool.com offline again, network hashrate decreased to 6 MH/s.

is DDoS still going on ?

It seems people are hopping on QCN during pump.

About an error with transaction size

This error is common in all coins based on the CryptoNote protocol. There's no special bug-fix for now.

Each particular wallet has it's own maximum transaction size which depends on received inputs. Wallet selects inputs randomly until it reaches the transaction limit. The more inputs, the larger the size of the transaction.

Actually it's a pool's problem - they send a lot of small transactions. The open-source pool code is a bit lame and it isn’t fixable.

Pool code will be fixed soon, because everyone concerned about this issue. So later we can set minimal payout threshold. I recommend mining on smaller pool, because diff is low, and miners can avoid dust.

Very nice price rise today, guys, mine it while difficulty is low, it seems very profitable coin ATM, but I can be wrong, cuz I didn't calculate profits.

I also enrolled using form, but didn't see my nick in a list. Just in claimed list. Wanna stay with your dice ads, it's fair and trusted.
Also, why U NO create a webapp and a daemon, daemon can parse profiles and if someone still keep signature on 18th will be auto-enrolled for next month.

Pointed one more GPU rig to my pool today. Pool is growing, please consider to mine along with me! Code is up to date.
1189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Xeon Phi on: June 17, 2014, 10:13:14 AM
I'd like to open a debate. Xeon Phi.

What do you think of Xeon Phi performance-wise? Do you see them being adopted by professionnel miners, or even not-so-casual miners? Why? How? Which consequences on price, distribution...
As an added question: will Monero become successfull enough to generate an interest in FPGA? How would FPGA compete with Xeon Phi (or AMD competitor)?

kiyominer already ported cpuminer to the Xeon Phi (sha256 only) and performance wasn't mind-blowing for the cost. I think the Phi has its uses, but not for mining.

I also think that nothing can be more efficient than ASICs.

Enrolling ITT for insurance.

Starting post: 2139
BTC address: 19NTgrinM6o85hXWBcj5rGxo56dZ3p5JcH

Confused, I enrolled using form, but after submit I see "claim payment" form.
1191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Vertcoin | Scrypt N | Beat ASIC | Stealth Address - Alpha Testing on: June 17, 2014, 09:19:26 AM
Guys, I am out of date, what latest news about stealth addresses? There are rumours such addresses will be implemented in MON first. Any ETA?

Its on Mon testnet now being tested. Fully implemented into VTC by end of June.

Oh, very cool news, I can't wait for MON new wallets to test it on main net. Nice news, probably we can recover from this fall. Also, I hope that MON will rise a bit, because current price even 5x is ridiculous. Damn pools.

Any ideas why the DDOS attacks are so fierce? This little "nobody" of a coin is suddenly catching the attention of the Crypto world and might be a threat to DRK, etc.
It is not cheap to constantly do DDOS attacks. Perhaps it is from the same bots that are mining it, but any plans for a P2P miner?

Lastly, the huge volume is intense. 480 BTC traded on Poloniex, interesting...
Someone is taking notice.

It's pool wars.
1194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★★★ [CAIx] ★ 100% PoS ★ Upcoming wallet features released ★★★★ on: June 16, 2014, 06:05:52 PM
Yeah, I suspect FUD relative to wallet is an attempt to rise a price of SC. Almost every altcoin is a clone of BTC and no one care. So keep good work, guys.

BTW, did you consider cryptonote multipool? XMR and BBR doing good ATM, CPU miners can offer good support for CAIx.
1195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - Mining on: June 16, 2014, 04:37:18 PM
have anyone are mining XMR by solo  or  by P2Pool?
Tell me how to do it ?
P2Pool is currently not implemented. You could solo CPU mine from the daemon:
start_mining <your_address> <number_of_threads>
You could solo mine on a single address from multiple machines. Currently if you have 3500 H/s you should get about a block each 2 days on average (more if you are lucky or less if you are not). With the difficulty raising each day I would not recommend you to solo mine with less then 2000-3000 H/s, but if you have 7000 H/s (this is a lot) you should solo mine for sure. If you want to GPU solo mine you should set a private pool of yours in order to do it (the pool software is open source), because you can't GPU mine from the daemon. If you set a pool you should automate the checking if the daemon freezes and restart it, because it's happening with the current code and you won't find blocks.

that is very helpful what you said upon, thanks a lot!

Any guide on how to set up a private pool to GPU mine ?

Yes, take a look at README there https://github.com/zone117x/node-cryptonote-pool

I always can set up a pool for you for small bounty like 0.12 BTC on Linux. But I believe you can do it easy.

BTW, you can just use my pool, it's small and you will get normal payouts if you want just avoid dust.
1196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - Secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: June 16, 2014, 03:22:25 PM
Hello, has anyone been able to compile the wallet from source on Ubuntu 14.04?
I'm posting about Monero on my blog and even myself can't compile it due no clear instructions on dependencies and how to install them.
Does anyone have a working script or solution to this?
This is only in regards to Cryptonote coins, or as I like to call them, 3rd Generation coins Cheesy

apt-get install build-essential libboost1.55-all-dev libminiupnpc-dev cmake && make. It's enough.

Hi, I updated OS X blockchain.bin, it's 430 MB now. Use it too speed up synchronization on OS X.
