Why can't we get the WCT scraps being offered and get the tax deduction for the stolen coins too?
The terms of the 2016 Coinomat::WAVES asset swap were very public, and have all the requirements for a legally binding contract - parties, consent, object consideration - in my own case I purchased directly from Mr Ivanov OTC via forum messages on nxtforum.org. All the evidence suggests there was a new implied contract for a debt once the WAVES DEX went live and the swap date was past due. If you agree to swap for WCT now there is no actual theft of your WAVES debt anymore (just a shit load of lost value), coz you agreed to the new terms and settled, so there's no debt @ 2017 bull prices you can write-off now, nothing to report to the police except your bad trades with Mr Ivanov that you consented to. If your crypto activities have been declared for taxation (as mine have been since 2013) then Ivanov has broken a legally enforceable contract with you, and you have legal ways to claw back some wealth, so DO NOT swap for 0.03 cents now. If your crypto activities are off the grid then your only option is to seek compensation off the grid. I think your right, Sasha knows most crypto guys don't declare their gains so most victims will walk away. Some guys reckon they're down 100k USD so Sasha might get a $5 wrench hack one of these days lol I am calling a lawyer later today and will show her @Adam Levine's post, maybe it's the best we can hope for now. I lost too much to walk away, most in INDEX and Cryptocard which aren't being swapped now, not even for measly 0.05 WCT. INDEX alone should be +10k USD each fair value, especially with the action the last 2 months. Far too big a loss to just absorb and walk away from. What happened to this guy, I remember him from 2014 when he was a nxtforum mod, he seemed like a normal guy, then he makes millions of USD and scams all his old investors, other devs, and some friends even. It baffles my mind why he is doing this, he made millions out of waves ICO which was funded in large part from coinomat, he should be able to easily cover the swap with some compensation for lost dividends and delays, the amount involved in total is not that large really, probably 25 guys who backed Sasha with large investments like myself when he first started coinomat as part of NXT community. He lost his soul from greed, and his mind too, ALL his coinomat victims are long term crypto guys from the early 2013-14 years, some are heavy hitting devs in their own right, like jl777 and IOTA founders, NXT ardor LISK NEM etc, why scam anyone, but why scam those guys who will speak of it forever more? Why scam me, I used to chat with Sasha often on Nxtforum, and komodo/SuperNET slack when he issued some of these coinomat assets on jl777's multigateway, like NEXTBOND this is personal for me, and very very very costly. I went balls deep on Coinomat assets, wow, i fucked up trusting this prick, and thinking he would come good all these years. Time for whiskey ... |

+1 All those who have lost from the coinomat scam need to file police reports asap, then we should start legal action. Sasha will not get away with this, I do not advocate vigilante actions myself, but I don't blame those who want vengeance, but I do caution against committing any acts of violence. Taking our complaints to him personally is a good idea, it's easy to scam faceless unknown people on the internet, not so easy when they're outside your house, calling your family and work colleagues on the phone, explaining to them how Sasha Ivanov scammed people. The legal case against Sasha ivanov for his coinomat securities scam is water tight, all the evidence is public for years, we will win in the end! |

What you want to do is maximise the cost basis of the 'thing' you are going to write off, so DO NOT swap now!
I am picking December 2017 as the date to value Sasha Ivanov's debt to me, and he made it clear he refused to repay his debt with the recent email!
The debt was in WAVES, not WCT!
This will not let me ever get my money back, but it does mean I can file a police report for an unpaid debt valued at the peak of the last bull market, and then I can claim that as a capital loss for tax purposes to offset against other income.
It's better than nothing, 100% legal, you just need to file a police report.
So you're going to add trades to your records that show swapping coinomat assets into waves @ Dec 2017 prices? What good does that do? I want my money, not a tax deduction. |

After 3 years of waiting sasha will swap some of the coinomat assets for 0.05 WCT ... the fair value is much higher, and should be paid in WAVES as promised. What about the other assets like INDEX, that were pegged to BITCOIN value, or CryptoCard .... what swap rate for them? Be serious sasha, otherwise you dig a deeper hole with this coinomat swap disaster, and you end up in legal battles, nobody is fooled here. But you can see price waves is up now. I think is success after team make news to swap. We don't know what he thinking but i pray this make people happy to get profit from waves I am so disappointed, after all this time coinomat asset holders are offered less than 3 cents per asset, this does not make sense, - not all assets are being swapped - all assets are swapped for WCT when it should be WAVES token AND compensation for lost WCT airdrop - original coinomat assets had different relative values and NXTswap rates in 2016, in 2019 they all have the same WCT rate, why? - the swap value of 3 cents is ridiculously low This is totally unacceptable, I do not accept this offer, what about INDEX and Cryptocard assets, what happens with those assets? |

By collusion I mean in the election process to get NN positions, not the notarisation process itself, and when I say bad for decentralisation I'm not talking about mining KMD itself, but more how many independent separate entities become NN, and the extent to which co-operation between them makes them appear to operate as a single dev team sponsored NN system that employs 64 sys admin operators, or at least has potential for that perception to grow.
I strongly disagree with "Who does it is pretty irrelevant" - if you really believe that why not stick with PayPal & Visa, why not just have one entity responsible for running 64 global NN and let that entity employ 64 contractors?
Crypto users are searching for projects that are decentralized, trustless, competitive, adversarial, and the assumption from nearly everyone in this space is 95% of projects are scams designed by insiders to enrich themselves.
Don't get me wrong, I have been supporting komodo for years and love the tech, but I really hope these elections for NN become super competitive and hard fought.
Still early days with the elections and candidate numbers aren't much greater than available spots so there's not much benefit from competing with other candidates yet, but that will come in time as kmd gets more attention with mature tech. This year is more about cooperation and If you follow discord it's great to see experienced NN helping new guys, that's what we need most now, 64 reliable nodes! When the notary income becomes significant and candidates increase we will see more competitive behaviour, and I agree that's good for decentralisation, but for this election it's not a problem imo |

Notary elections are stake based, 1 VOTE = 1 KMD, so I'm sticking with dPoW is a VERSION of (delegated) PoS, that makes sense to me, and regular Jo's can understand the concept. The VOTE allocation is based on proof of stake, no selling votes, no sending VOTES to third parties, just 1 legal send from KMD investor to a NN candidate. 64 NN then form a network for completing dPoW tx, that's the essence IMO
Something I've come across is people confuse the 5% 'reward' for PoS because they get coins without having to mine, like staking. For this reason I think the best way to phrase things is NN selection is stake based and there are no restrictions on who can run for a spot as a NN, so in a way it is similar to delegated PoS, but strictly speaking isn't PoS at all because once the NN are elected the KMD holders have no further roll in the dPoW process until the next election (like an electoral college), and KMD blocks are PoW mined.
