121  Economy / Services / Re: [Slot Full][Signature] Non Fungible Defi Full Member To Legendary/ Paid in BTC on: June 21, 2021, 02:01:55 AM
Good day,

I've noticed that some of your Full Member participants aren't participating anymore. If there's a chance. I would like to take their position. Thank you.
122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WifeCoin, the only coin you're afraid to FUD on: June 20, 2021, 08:45:24 AM
So basically a YASC (Yet Another Shit Coin)
I mean don't get me wrong, if you're learning and making these shitcoins just for your knowledge, cudos, but c'mon...

Well, yes. It's funny how they throw a bunch of jargons and difficult words to make it seem like something that will solve a problem but when you read it carefully, it'll make sense that it's just a joke.
123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't we have too many smart contract platforms already? on: June 20, 2021, 08:24:59 AM
Day after day, I see new cryptocurrencies whose underlying blockchain networks have smart contract features. We already have Ethereum, Cardano, EOS, Binance Coin, Flow, Tron, Polkadot, and many other cryptocurrencies with smart contract functionalities. Sometimes I think we have too many smart contract platforms that would bring no real use cases in the mainstream world. Instead of creating a new smart contract platform, developers should focus on building within existing platforms to make crypto land a better place. Yet, developers' mindset is to make large profits in the least time possible by creating a new blockchain network from scratch.

What are your thoughts? Do you think the market is already saturated with too many smart contract platforms? Or is there still room for growth? What may be the cause for such an unprecedented increase in new blockchain networks with smart contract functionalities? Will this ramp up the competition in the crypto/Blockchain space? Or will it do more harm than good for established players like Ethereum and Binance Coin? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley

As long as there is demand in the market for smart contracts, then there would be developers willing to compete for the pie. You don't have to worry about that though because the market will adjust this in the long run. Only the best will survive and the competition in this division will help developers try to get ahead of the game and grow even further. This is actually working in our favor though.
124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will stable coins take control of Bitcoin as crypto adoption in the future? on: June 20, 2021, 04:11:25 AM
A stablecoin is a cryptocurrency that is backed, added, or backed by an underlying asset. low volatility with stablecoins being the main benefit to continue to attract both individual and institutional interest. Exchange rate stability is useful for both holders and those trying to integrate Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies into the wider financial system.

Why do you say that? Stablecoin is nothing more than a digital fiat/metals/etc. There's no way that stablecoin can control Bitcoin. The only purpose I see stablecoin in the cryptocurrency market is a trading pair. You can't even profit from holding it because holding a stablecoin is like holding a fiat so there's no way it's going to attract individual and institutions.
125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Eth vs bnb on: June 20, 2021, 04:06:03 AM
I have both and I can't say that there's a better one among them since there's things that aren't available in ETH that is available in BNB and there's things that aren't available in BNB that is available in ETH. Let's just say, what I like about BNB is that it gives me so many passive incomes and airdrop opportunity while ETH gives me the option to invest in the latest DeFi tokens.
126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Monero so heavily undervalued? on: June 20, 2021, 04:02:07 AM
I was just wondering why this coin is extremely undervalued when compared to the rest?

It takes away control from system in charge giving the people the power. It is fungible meaning all xmr tokens are identical to one another (no previous history of the coin transactions can be attained making it completely private). It is private by default no one can see any transactions that is made only the sender and receiver of the transaction that has been made between them. Fast, cheap, secure to use. Proven history with a 625k irs bounty and many governments are scared of this coin because of its potential and try to take it down and all have failed. Trail emissions of 0.6xmr per block (end of May 2022) to incentivize  miners to continue mining monero with very little coins coming into existence and at a very slow pace. More scarce than bitcoin itself and ofcourse much more useful for p2p cash and taking control back from the system like both was designed for.

Am I missing something? Isn't this much better than bitcoin itself?

What do you think?

It's all about social medias nowadays. Although monero has great feature, it doesn't have that big of a social media attention than ETH, DeFi, etc. Not to mention those bans and regulations on privacy coins are taking a heavy toll on monero. It's not the era of privacy coin anymore.

For example, monero is good though, it's just that I can't see using it myself because I don't really have any reason to hide my transaction, I think that applies to most of the people nowadays.
127  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Miami’s mayor looks to woo Chinese bitcoin miners on: June 20, 2021, 03:38:54 AM
Mayor Francis Suarez told CNBC that Miami is working to lower the cost of electricity in order to entice bitcoin miners to make the move to Florida.
Suarez is looking to patriate China’s mining diaspora by promoting the city’s essentially unlimited supply of cheap nuclear energy.

How is the electricity cheap there though? It's more or less 30% more than the cost of electricity there than in china. Not to mention the labor cost + the additional factors such as the humidity and the location of the miner. Still, this publicity stunt shows that he is going to support Bitcoin for a long time which is good.
128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Exiting altcoins at the correct time is the best thing you can do do with them. on: June 20, 2021, 03:25:22 AM
-snip

I think we've all had this experience at least once and you're not alone friend. At least you learned your lessons that most of the altcoins nowadays are just pumps and dumps and that you shouldn't hold them for long. At least that's what I thought on those overhyped shitcoins that is driven my social media market. I prefer tokens who is taking it's time for development.
129  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much power does Elon still have over the crypto markets? on: June 19, 2021, 01:47:53 PM
Just because he says some negative or positive stuff, why do people react so much?

Whatever the reasons, are people done listening to him now or what?

I remember when he first tweeted anything about crypto it was doge. He just had a simple rocket with doge on the shuttle and posted that.

SOmehow.... this made doge go from less than a cent all the way up to 7 cents! Wtf kind of power is that?

Then he did some more doge tweets making it go as high as 70 cents.

But then with just one simple tweet, he dumped the bitcoin price. HOW!?

But yeah, has he numbed peoples nerves enough yet or what? It seems like it considering his last positive tweets haven't done much to bump the price up. What gives? Is his power done with or is it just easier to crash a market instead of pump it?

I think he still has some sort of influence in the crypto industry but I don't think it's as strong as before. The moment he made Bitcoin dump because of this absurd research paper, the majority who follows him are probably staying away from him now as much as possible. I can't imagine people following him even though he made them lose a lot of money.
130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto and energy consumption on: June 19, 2021, 01:25:21 PM
I don't see the motivation behind why this is an issue, im previously utilizing environmentally friendly power energy in my home throughout recent years and my mining ranch is running on sunlight based boards and reinforcement. In the end it needs impetus and the arrangement is incorporated, leaving a few clients to trust the validators without enough control.

Some people are just ignorant so they always raise this issues or that people who doesn't like Bitcoin or others who want FUD will try to spread this argument as many times as they want in a bias way because a lot of people wouldn't really care much about the details.
131  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The fall from 65k to $30k was the best thing to ever happen to Bitcoin on: June 19, 2021, 12:53:49 PM
I didn't touch crypto once Elon Musk joined. The dip that cost pain to crypto investors that you mentioned followed Elon Musk. I knew that was going to happen. Now that Elon Musk left for now, now crypto investors can safely rejoin the crypto market.

I don't think so. Elon Musk must have stayed away from Bitcoin but that doesn't mean he is gone. As far as I know, he is still around cryptocurrencies but he mostly talks about dogecoin now. He also said that he is still positive about Bitcoin, he just doesn't like the energy consumption of it. Nonetheless, I'm still thankful he made Bitcoin dump so I could buy cheaper lol.
132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bought £700 worth of a cryptocurrency I don't know much about, is this moonshot? on: June 18, 2021, 03:51:08 AM
You bought a cryptocurrency you don't know about. From the other comments alone. It seems like you need to pull out as fast as you can before it's too late.

Just look at this, this shitcoin is literally putting shit in their name.
133  Economy / Economics / Re: Own a house or rent one? Quick survey! on: June 17, 2021, 03:49:12 AM
Depends on the location. Here in the Philippines, With a $100, you won't be able to pay for you own house in your lifetime, much less even budget that properly if you have a family (the average salary in the Philippines is $300 btw), but you can surely survive on your own as long as you budget it properly. It would be better to rent and invest the remaining money somewhere else where it will grow.

Let's say you took that mortgage for 40$ a month, you're only left with $60. You need to budget that $60 for your food and other necessities like water, electricity, gas, travel cost if you work somewhere, etc., that will only give you little money for savings and other emergency funds that you might need. It's not like a house is a necessary thing to have. With your salary, it'll only be a liability than an asset because what would happen if something bad happen and you don't have the money for that? it's going to be a disaster. Also, take note of the maintenance cost for that.

If you rent, then you would be given more room to work with your money. Let's say you're left with $25 with everything paid. That's $25 of money for savings account, emergency funds, and even investment funds.

As for my experience, it's pretty safe renting because of the neighbors. They act as some sort of security for my room (besides my hidden security) and I am given enough room to put all my stuff and small enough room for maintenance.
134  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Another KYC requirements ng coins.ph? on: June 17, 2021, 03:13:28 AM
135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Charles Hoskinson's Take on Bitcoin on: June 17, 2021, 03:08:55 AM
For those of you who listen/watch the Lex Fridman Podcast, he just uploaded an episode where he interviews Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano (ADA).

If you fast-forward the podcast to 1:38:50 Charles begins to discuss his issues with Bitcoin and what he finds to be the "problems" with Bitcoin. Initially, this really excited me because I love a good argument against Bitcoin from one of the cryptospace's most popular. While I was hoping for a unique, fresh take on Bitcoin's issues, I ended up getting the same progressive response aimed at Bitcoin's lack of "improvement". This turned out to be the same regurgitation of words mixed with some clever verbiage, which I found boring put quite frankly.

He sites that the community has become a religion to the maximalists, resistant to change in any meaningful way. He talks about how Taproot should have happened a long time ago and is shocked at how long it takes this community to produce upgrades for a system that is already so far behind. He argues that a currency with a single-use-case scenario (Bitcoin) will eventually be left in the dust to more ambitious projects that aim to solve more problems. Brushing off the fact that Bitcoin is the strongest reserve currency in crypto or the world.

I expected a little more respect for Bitcoin from Hoskinson. I really thought someone of his mental stature would see that Bitcoins single purpose is its only needed purpose. Being a store of value is far more than enough. While the institution of Smart Contract Platforms will inevitably grow and explode in the years to come, you are simply not able to rule out Bitcoin in any way, shape, or form.

Go visit his Podcast's page and listen for yourself because there is much more that he talks about that you all may find quite interesting. Let me know what you guys think.

I mean, it's his opinion though. Most of us are probably thinking that the development of Bitcoin is quite in a good phase considering that developers have to absolutely check to see if everything works. It's not like we need to rush things. I can understand why he's trying to downplay Bitcoin because he wants to make his creation seems something more valuable Bitcoin.
136  Economy / Economics / Re: Is money the root of all evil as the poor to thinks? on: June 17, 2021, 02:50:27 AM
It is often said that the biggest difference between the rich and the poor has it origin from the mindset.
One major question that always borders me is "are we created with different mindset at birth and what role does environmental factors have to place on mindset of an individual".
Ubong King said "what you see determine the level of your achievement. The rich man orientation differs from the poor man orientation because While the rich man is thinking about wealth creation and self dependence, the poor is busy thinking how evil money is with the notion that money is the root of all evil hence they prefer to be poor than miss the Kingdom of God forgetting that our heavenly father who is rich expect us to take after him. Consider this,
"IS MONEY THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL?"

It's the idea of the people that is the root of all evil. Money is just money, it can't do anything on it's own. It's the people who use them that makes money something. Others think that money paves way to goodness. At the end of the day, money is just an instrument for the people's intentions.
137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are meme tokens dangerous or moon on: June 17, 2021, 02:31:28 AM
Meme tokens are memes. This shitcoins are suppose to be a joke and shouldn't be taken seriously that they will solve any sort of problem. They are mostly pump and dump and should be avoided as much as possible to avoid high risk loses. That's the reason why a country banned this specific type of coin because it's basically gambling and dangerous financially too.
138  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Ang nawawalang Resibo at ang Blockchain. on: June 17, 2021, 02:28:50 AM

139  Economy / Economics / Re: Money and happiness. on: June 17, 2021, 02:20:03 AM
I think it depends on the people on how they are going to use their money for their own happiness. Some would certainly want money to satisfy their desires (you know how criminals buy drugs and stuff like that) to attain happiness. Some would certainly want peace and a normal life that doesn't require as much money to satisfy their desires.

Money can certainly help with achieving happiness but that doesn't necessarily mean money will guarantee happiness.
140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: No DOGE Allowed? Thai SEC Bans Meme, Fan and Exchange Tokens as Well as NFTs on: June 14, 2021, 01:30:25 AM
I can understand to some degree why they banned meme tokens, probably because of the absurdly high risk and social manipulation involve in investing in those tokens.

What I can't understand is why would they ban exchange tokens? Is it because of the too much hype around them that they don't want to get their people trapped from the incoming dumps?
