KNC posted this on twitter

http://newsbtc.com/2014/04/24/photos-kncminers-hashing-data-center/

if i'm not mistaken, it looks like the ASIC PCB's and fans aren't fastened to anything, just gravity holding it together.  How's that for quick cheap setup.
They probably know it's not going to last long and have to be replaced with new tech in the coming months.

Am I the only one who is experiencing issues with http://eligius.st?
Is it only the web frontend or is mining affected as well?

same here,
cannot see stats page, just coming blank

edit. but seems to be mining away just fine

i'm in same boat waiting for refund since 14th April
on 24th April I emailed them (Natalie) and saying if it would be easier for them to pay me in BTC with my BTC addess in email,
and she replied now will be refunded in BTC instead of USD via bank transfer.
If they were to refund me via bank transfer it would have to be in AUD not USD as I'm in Australia.

but still waiting for BTC to be refunded.

Either knc sending bank will convert the usd to aud or your bank will receive usd and convert to aud.  May be a small conversion fee

thanks,
never had money (USD) transferred into my account before.

anyway, last email from KNC said that they will refund in BTC now.
I will re-post when I receive it.

is there any way to manage the difficulty of the miner manually ?
Pretty sure it's dynamic (server-determined) only, calculated to provide 32 shares/minute:
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Comparison_of_mining_pools
So there is no way ... because dragon miners need the difficulty to be handled be the pool .
I try the dragon miner on Eligius and does not give normal speed

I have 3 (4 blade) 1TH/s Dragon miners and I've selected 256 for mining difficulty via web interface and all 3 have been mining just over 1TH/s for 3 weeks

edit. I've just noticed in the stats page that the difficulty is actually set to 511.99, so not sure what the setting via the web interface does.

Posting pics on this forum gives me hemorrhoids! So this is all I can stand to do. Hopefully the rivets are visible for the skeptics.

BE CAREFUL... if the miner on the top moves a few millimeters and drops off it's feet then you could possibly create a short circuit... and POOF up in smoke
129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: April 27, 2014, 02:10:56 PM
it's not the shipping company's fault if these frankenjups are damaged, it's KNC fault.

if constructed in a flimsy aluminium case and circuit boards fitted to the bottom with nylon plugs, then placing the heat sink/fan assembly in the center without securing to firm base will definitely dislodge the heat sink/fan assembly with any shipping company.  by looking at photos, if these frankenjups were dropped sideways even a couple of inches then the heat sink/fan will move, do this a couple of times and you're going to have damage.

there is no way that any of these will survive any form of transport.  these wouldn't even survive if you pick it up and transported it in the boot or back seat of a car.

also the exposed circuit board on the bottom of the case is asking for trouble in itself.  To think whoever designed these miners probably thought he/she done a great job  Tongue  and saved KNC lots of money by cutting corners.

this is what I'd do to who ever designed and approved these frankenjups
130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: April 27, 2014, 07:19:59 AM
the way the frankenjup has been put together is seriously a disaster for KNC and everyone who's ordered one even if it arrives in one piece I would recommend to reject it and ask for them to sack their existing case designer and hire someone who got some experience.  The existing design could never survive any shipping company full stop.

Ask for 3TH/s of mining from their data center till new design can be produced and delivered.
OR ask for refund because of incompetence.  Even BFL Josh can do better on case designing.

I hope they do the same big mistake with Neptune and Titan, otherwise it will definitely be the end of KNC.

they should ask spondoolies Tech for some help on case design. By far best/professionally designed case/miner to date.

BTW, I'm not a frankenjup customer, but I have paid for a Titan and refund processing for Neptune.

edit, changed my signature to Spondoolies Tech SP30 offer as it's no longer worth being a reseller for KNC

pcfli 27th is a Sunday, might want to change the shipping date.

why what's Sunday?  If it's not a public holiday I'm pretty sure they operate 7 days a week in China

Hi,

Apologies for the delay in reply. Thanks for providing your bank details for the refund of your order. If you would like you can also have the refund processed in BTC. If you would like to have the order refunded in BTC please provide us with your wallet address and we will process the refund for you as quickly as possible.

Thanks in advance.

Best regards
Med vänlig hälsning

Keith Gurnett

E2A - I requested cash again

I've also been waiting for Neptune refund and I have just sent them an email asking them if they'd like to refund in BTC instead.

I'll see what they reply.

Yes, its perfectly normal. NMC doesn't work

I think NMC mining is working, its just payouts aren't working.

in other words you'll be back paid for time you've merged mined NMC, by providing an NMC wallet address in 'configurable options'

give wizkid time to sort it out  Wink

news update

Hi All

So we have a few updates that we would like to share, some of you may already have seen the updates in our shop so you will have to excuse us if it’s old news. The newsletter contains updates on the following products:

- Titan performance increase
- Mini Titan & Neptune Launch
- Neptune Third Batch
- Upgrade cards
- Jupiter 3TH update
- Neptune power requirements

Titan Performance increase
As we get closer to tape out we are able to provide more of an update, and due to the demand of our product. We are now able to confirm it will indeed be a 28nm process we will be using. This means we are able to confirm that the minimum performance will be 300MH/s for around 800watts of power. This upgrade in performance will of course be given free to all customers. For more details click here

Mini Titan Launch
We have been requested by many to launch a smaller range of products allowing more people to purchase our devices. Well we agree. More people should be able to take part in mining for crypto-currencies so we are again launching a mini version of our future miners. The mini Titans and Neptune’s will ship alongside the full size products and like our previous Saturn and Mercury miners will be based on the same size box as their respective full size models to allow future upgrade modules and flexibility. For more details click here for mini Titan and here for mini Neptune.

Neptune Third Batch
Due to continued demand especially with the continued rising in the bitcoin economy, we have also launched a third batch of Neptune’s with our best ever dollar per hash rate The price for the new box is 5,995 USD, The boxes will ship round 4 weeks after batch two finishes.  For more details click here

Upgrade cards.
We have also released 400 upgrade cards for those of you who wish to still purchase them. They are being shipped from stock and the first boxes have already left with UPS yesterday. Each card is now only 350USD plus shipping. You can order upgrade cards here

Jupiter 3TH
The window for conversions has now closed we have had over 400 conversions which means we are actively trying to fill all of the orders we have but we will contact customers individually if they are too far back in the queue to be converted. The good news is that the shipment for these orders will begin Tuesday next week after the Easter holidays and we expect it to take only a few days to have all boxes shipped out to customers.

Neptune Power Requirements
While we will not release the maximum performance of the Neptune miner we can now release the required power supply to give people time to purchase them. The maximum power draw will be 2100w of power and we recommend this to be either two 1200w power supplies or three 850watt power supplies. This does include a bit of a safety margin on our side and of course underclocking will be possible to reduce the power requirements even more.

Thanks
KnCMiner Team

november boards ... On Sale Now....
jelin must have cum in his/her pants hearing that news Grin

LOL,  even at $350 you'll never see ROI,
it will mine 0.012 BTC a day and that's if you got it tomorrow,
in a couple of days next diff increase you'll be lucky to see 0.01 a day

My CA Batch Neptune: "Refund ready for process"

same here,

maybe our 2 refund requests have cause panic at KNC headquarters   Grin Grin Grin

I think KNC are not liking all the negative publicity... become assholes and get treated like assholes.   Love it when this happens  Cheesy Grin

without giving a specific date, month at least they're gonna have problems attracting buyers.

a month after the previous batch isn't going to cut it.  When is previous batch going to be shipped???  Who knows  Huh
140  Economy / Services / Re: [lee group, round 5] 2600$! The sales promotion of dragon 1T host miner on: April 11, 2014, 07:34:04 PM
Just had delivery of one miner (3 prdered).

Powered up and cahnged ip address so no conflict on network. and it is howing on the miner lcd panel

signed up to BTCguild and put in

pool - btc guild host details
pool login - btc guild username
password - 123

How do i save the settings? i

n the guide it states -once miner is reopened the led will blink green ?? Mine is red and pool details are not changing ?

I just filled in the pool details and clicked confirm button while start radio button was selected.
I'm sure this will save details and start cgminer/mining

the green LEDs on the blades inside the machine will blink when starting or booting but LEDs become solid green when running/mining ok.
The red single LED adjacent the network port stays red but will start blinking when mining/communicating through the network
