I have been doing some underclocking as well as some overclocking.
Too early to give hard numbers but it steps down nicely with no bugginess.  I will later this week after running 12 to 24 hrs per setting have some more solid numbers.

Have you tested underclocking at all?  I wonder how efficient it can get.
122  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Exclusive 1st Review: Bitmain Antminer S7, 4.8+ th/s Using Only 1250 Watts on: September 13, 2015, 09:57:51 AM
I agree, that would be nice as well.
That being said the S5 is still a solid miner and runs in that range at close to 1.2 th/s.

I really really like these units but just to expensive for me. I really hope Bitmain listens and makes a smaller more friendlier unit. Given the great efficiency of the chips. A nice 500-600w miner for home (essentially half an S7) would be BRILLIANT!
123  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Exclusive 1st Review: Bitmain Antminer S7, 4.8+ th/s Using Only 1250 Watts on: September 13, 2015, 09:56:53 AM
On stock settings I am getting 1250 watts at 4.9+ th/s on average.
So not bad at all.  Using 110v though has higher amperage than running at 220v.

awsome! and what's about the power consumption? it is 1210w?
My S5 are running at 350Mhz and draining 575w, and the s7?
124  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Exclusive 1st Review: Bitmain Antminer S7, 4.8+ th/s Using Only 1250 Watts on: September 13, 2015, 09:55:22 AM
Customer Service I rate based on experience with them for issues and from other customer feedback.
Bitmain as a whole has for the most part been solid in that area. If the company has issues or is new I note that as well.

Your welcome. I love mining. I have been quiet lately though as I have a new son at home now. Nearly two months old.  Smiley

Nice review thanks fro sharing it.   How did you get somethings like "Customer Service".  Was not sure how you got that percentage.

And again nice job!
125  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Exclusive 1st Review: Bitmain Antminer S7, 4.8+ th/s Using Only 1250 Watts on: September 13, 2015, 09:21:30 AM
I have for quite a while as well. Finally was able to pull the trigger.
It is good to hear from you.  Smiley

Its not exclusive, I've had one for a few days Wink
126  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Exclusive 1st Review: Bitmain Antminer S7, 4.8+ th/s Using Only 1250 Watts on: September 13, 2015, 09:20:10 AM
It was hitting 67 to 68 dB from 4 feet for me.
That being said the ambient temp of my mining room at the time is about 65 degrees F.  I will take another reading when it gets back up in the 80s and see how much louder it gets. It is still much better than the SP30.

My concern is the noise level really that loud of 100dBA mentioned at other thread ..
127  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Exclusive 1st Review: Bitmain Antminer S7, 4.8+ th/s Using Only 1250 Watts on: September 13, 2015, 08:42:59 AM
Yes for a bit now. I was finally able to pull the trigger on it.
Nice miners.
I really think they did well with cooling and power consumption.
I fixed the link. Sorry about that. I don't know why it got messed up.

Awesome you got your hands on one already!

HI Everyone,
I thought I would share my hands on with the Antminer S7.
It is a nice miner and works well. Built like a tank in the S5 form factor.  I will be following it up with a video demo and tear down in the coming days.
They do exist and they should be shipping enmass soon.

Bitmain recently announced the Antminer S7 specs using their new BM1385 ASIC. This step is a big one, as the S7 is shipping to anyone around the worl — from small home miners to large data centers. Many other manufacturers are only using in-house or for the certain large mining operations that have announced new chips. Recently, we interviewed Jihan Wu co-founder of Bitmain. After the interview, Jihan sent a Bitmain Antminer S7 to review. The miner is an excellent step up from current offerings on the market. Let’s look at the specifications.

Bumping.
Feel free to make offers on the remaining SP20 and two Avalon 4.1s.
Have a great weekend.

Bumping as the Avalon 4.1s and SP20 are still available.

134  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: S7 controller has nine 18- pin jacks So what can we do with it? on: September 08, 2015, 01:12:45 AM
I have been thinking on that myself. The main thing is the cables. It is a pain to get them.
Just like the S5 where it would accept 3 and also 4 with a different firmware. The main stumbling block was the cables.
Having to custom make them is tedious.
I do have a couple cases I am going to try this on though for multiples in one chassis.

Awesome!

Anyone got an idea for a case for housing 6x S7 blades? Could you cool these chips with the original heatsinks with less static pressure (noise) from fans?

6 "silent" blades = 2420 W = 67% load of a 16A fuse @ 230V, would be nice for the home-miner! At least in Europe (afaik).

yeah you can use this

http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/555-17805?

line the inside with a piece of sheet metal  .

left s-7    psu   right s-7

a 2400 watt  9600gh monster.

bigger fans like this

you would be set.

That is cool.
What do you have going on lately?

I don't, and you?
136  Other / Off-topic / Re: Answer the question above with a question. on: September 07, 2015, 05:49:05 AM
I saw your sig, why did you think I had not?

Why would they want to bury your questions?

Why are my questions being buried so that Leroy Fodor can't find them?

Are you see-my-sig blind?

I am not sure.
Do you have one to make?

I thought it was about the beaver question. That being said it is chaotic in here so who knows what I was answering.
What do you think I was answering?

Are statements allowed in this thread?

Do you like to eat beaver?

could you pls define beaver ?

is that an answer to the question above your post, or are you answering to the question above that?
