That sounds a very interesting coin, like deeponion that uses tor to provide privacy. I think the coin price will still go higher Right now, it cheap. I don't know the total supply of this coin but I hope there is low supply to pump.
Actually other way around....Spectrecoin launched almost a year ago, added OBFS4 to it's TOR feature in early August. And this from the Spectrecoin Wiki....produced by community member bitcoinx (Gandalf86) is a real eye opener. http://coinwiki.info/en/SpectreCoin#DeepOnionA reminder to always,always.... ALWAYS, Do your research before sending anyone your money. You are very right about being undervalued currently. Links in my sig below if you like to know more.

Spectreproject Weekly Update Saturday, September 30th – Saturday, October 7th Slack by the numbers - Welcome to the 25 members added to our community….our Slack group is now 832 members and growing daily. Jach I., Pez, Justin, snow, chingchangchong, Pasha, Chloe Cornish, klaks, mbay, samuraikai, Josh D, Bos_texanus , cryptorowly, environment, danny5678309, hemlock, nyocory, googie , Jayden Wall, Brian, Zak Black, trappist, Poppy Butcher, dick head, and heapd Things have calmed down with being pestered by the Slack bots, alternatives have been checked out but placed on hold for time being. Dev nuts and Bolts - @jbg updated that in the last week the team has worked on making the existing wallet easier to build on various Linux distributions, this to help with the trouble some Linux users have been having (including Livecoin). They have also done a lot of testing on the new testnet, including testing of planned stealth coin / stealth address modifications, and also testing of the staking rewards after @leobitman indicated some potential concerns. Intensive testing continues, and a report will be made in due course. User Interface updates are progressing as planned, it's a lot of work but we hope to have them complete by mid-month. More detail is available on the report @jbg made on the "dev_techtalk" channel in Slack. Closing Words - Our grassroots marketing efforts are gaining momentum. New member chaser_888 has established a presence for Spectreproject on Reddit. @rkh is working on its design. https://www.reddit.com/r/XSPEC/@harvw and I are planning another run with the “Feature Coin” scroll both leading up to and during the release of v1.4 when that date firms up a little more. A big part of the funds are already accumulated. If you would like to donate, its advisable to place “buy” orders for the DOT coin rather than purchase peoples “sell” orders and have them in hand and ready. Others are promoting and talking up xspec and Spectreproject everyday…...which does far more good than we all realize. Finally, to try to reduce unused channels….the remittance app and privacy_all_aspects channels are used very little. Looks like off topic could be used instead and these will be removed by end of the month. We’re looking forward to v1.4 in the next few weeks and appreciate everyone’s patience as Spectreproject and xspec enters a totally new phase of its development. As always, Beachguy

It's been going on for sometime now. It seems to run in waves......from many a day to just a few on the various channels I'm on. Saw a note from a crypto media writer that was getting over 60 a day since he is a member of so mant slack groups.
Slack just seems to not care.

|
|
Seems not.....these days anybody with a brain fart create a "token" and most do nothing....or nothing of any real value. That's why coin market cap reports 1152 currencies. Crazy isn't it. A by-product of ethereum.
It will disappear in the rubbish bin of failed tokens

Spectreproject Weekly Update Saturday, September 23rd – Saturday, September 30th
Kind of a slow week in the world of xspec. Slack numbers - Fifty-six new members joined the Spectreproject Slack channel for the week. Slack also reports there are now 812 people registered. We DO back out the deactivated ones since between myself,@jbg and @spectreproject we keep them pretty well cleaned up It seems to be subsiding some this past week…..only 18. Dev Nuts and Bolts - Jbg reports he and Bryce still have their nose to the grindstone on v1.4 and coding it for alpha testing the month of October. Just to remind everyone it’s bringing the client/wallet up to QT5 code. It is a major overhaul but will be well worth it in terms of stability, ease of use and ease of mods by the devs. Testing is ongoing and intense. Jbg also mentions, he’s been trying to assist users having build problems for linux versions to determine the problem. Closing Comments - There is a lot of activity and ideas in the Spectreproject community currently happening. Both new and old members are working hard on ideas for publicity and getting the word out on Spectrecoin. We only ask that before anything is released to the public that it be vetted for accuracy. It is amazing the power of people from around the world working together and what they can accomplish. In closing, here’s some thoughts on cryptocurrency in general and Bitcoin specifically….the dominant player in the world of crypto currency. It’s still very early in the life of Bitcoin….there are only 16 million of them. Think about 16 million people owning one Bitcoin each. That would be the population of Houston, Texas and Chicago, Illinois owning ALL the bitcoin. A very tiny amount. Instead of each Btc worth less than $5,000 …..it should be far more. But it will take time, just as it take time for xspec to grow and be a part of the crypto currency eco system. Please be patient and enjoy the journey…...Spectrecoin will be having it’s first birthday pretty soon…..many, if not most coins don’t make it that far. We’re looking to a celebration with all of you next month, the one year anniversary of the ICO Launch of the project we know as Spectrecoin. Have a great week! Same as when you mine a pow coin.....the block has been orphaned by another "miner" (wallet).....no biggie....just move along. Or buy more "xspec" to give your wallet a little more weight.
|
|
|
Top heavy? not hardly....xspec's distribution is actually quite good. I love how noob accounts come here and post as if they are some sort of "authority" on crypto. Or, if you actually are.....why set up a new account unless you have a purpose to your agenda and fud.

For several days the xspec wallet has been "down for maintenance". This is very puzzling as the wallets of other exchanges are working just fine as well as transfers from users' wallets to them. Our dev spectre_jbg could get in touch to give you some help if needed. You're missing out on some trading volume going on! Thanks, Beachguy

My question is about the OBSF4: is it something that any coin can implement or is it technology containing completely unique code/implementation that would be difficult to copy if tried? Or is it something a lot of coins can do, and it's a matter of time and dedication before others do so? Or, some other combination of things? I'm sure it's more complex than my question suggests.
It's VERY complex and difficult to add. It takes a great dev like spectre_jbg to accomplish. Unlike most others.... Spectrecoin RUNS on the TOR network natively so when the blockage of TOR is detected the OBFS4 kicks in.
I read in the Spectrecoin wiki that Monero ' s wallet is less buggy tthan Spectre's. Has the gap closed somewhat? I know Cloak has great code too. Oh, and the new wallet is coming soon right. And a new site if I'm not mistaken?
Monero doesn't have Spectrecoin's privacy features either. Version 1.4 of the xspec wallet is a complete rebuild and has been in developement for quite sometime. It's is entering final testing..... with release coming the month of October
Time is running out to pick up xspec at bargain prices.

do this ANN has translations to other languages? if yes, which ones you and and which ones you dont?
Thx
There have been active Russian and Chinese threads on BitcoinTalk for some time.....These countries particulary benefit from Spectrecoin's TOR+OBFS4 technology. Links are below and have also been added to the OP.

I am constantly amazed at what people will do for "free". This is a questionable "project", if you can call it that..... people are already confusing it with the one and only Spectreproject (xspec). A reputable project does its due diligence and doesn't try to imitate others. That stylized version of the Spectrecoin logo makes this thing so misleading. And how in the world does the world need another ethereum token? It's infested with them already. https://blog.bitmex.com/initial-coin-offerings-icos-a-complex-web/

|
@sdevv.......you're a ridiculously funny fudder.
|
|
|
I am forcus my eyes on this project now. Finally find an altcoin with tor.
But what's the relationship of XSPEC and NASA?
Looks like maybe your phone changed CASH to NASA? Phones have a way of saying what they think you're saying instead of what you are saying. Spectre Cash is actually the end game of the project so the unbanked around the world can transfer XSPEC on an Android peer to peer client.

Spectreproject weekly update for week ending Saturday Sept 23 The numbers: Our community grew by 35 members last week after subtracting the 25 accounts deactivated for spamming. (more on this later), We’re now at 752 members. During the recent instability of cryptocurrencies , xspec held strong in the 9862 to 10040 sat range before rising steadily over 10000 sats. Developer news: You may have all noticed that jbg is rarely here lately. That’s because he’s doing exactly what the community funded him to do. He reported on Sept 21 “most of the build infrastructure work is behind me, now focusing on tearing out QtWebkit and upgrading to Qt 5”Also - “I heard from @brycel yesterday, he has a test build that has much more robust ring signature code. we are going to work together to set up a spectrecoin testnet.”For this news he also reports that moving our build system over to autotools is finished up.This means future updates to the client will be much easier from his standpoint. The tor integration has gotten some tweaks that will bring faster startup. “The Qt5 migration is going well, we’re aiming for an alpha release of 1.4 in the next couple of weeks (this is a goal folks) and the testnet will be made public at that time.” "Bryce has been deep into testing his ring signature changes on a testnet as well."
Also, in the middle of all this, ways of dealing with the spam on Slack are being discussed. We ask the community’s patience and to simply report to beachguy or spectreproject. Let’s not distract our devs with this annoyance. Closing: In the weekdays I’m at my business from 8am to 4pm eastern standard time and may have my status set to away…..but, I DO keep an eye on things, Might be delayed by something at the business but I will get around to deactivating spammers, greeting new people, watching channels etc. Everyone has been doing much better about following channel content….and we ask everyone again….think before posting. Is it relevant to the channel, is it contributing and necessary? As always...Have a great week everyone! Beachguy

from november 30 the blocking of tor traffic by isp in the russian federation is expected.
we should take this into account and develop response measures.
We can help with that.

|
A zcash fork with no website? Spectrecoin's long game is an android wallet. It has large community support and it's here NOW .....the client loads connected to the TOR network and OBFS4 kicks in for countries blocking TOR. Check it out.

Spectreproject News Letter for Week ending Saturday September 16,2017 Wow the days are moving faster. I know many of you , including me, and some of your relatives were involved in Irma. We’re still cleaning up and fixing things as we’re able. Now on to the numbers - Ending Saturday we added 44 members but it seems 13 were the pesky spammers. We exchanged over 71,000 messages but again would need to eliminate the spammers dm’s. Dev’s nuts and bolts - Looks like things are settling down after the v1.3 releases and bug cleanups. And the minority that use Macs now have a solid client. Instructions for the linux build was included as well. It appears that the translations are close to coming to the website and we look forward to that. With the turmoil in other countries I’m sure Spectrecoin will be well received. The announcement made by Mandica about the forthcoming sponsored article in CCN was a great surprise and it came out in time to make this edition. And here it is! Cryptocoins News It appears we have gained some more new members and as always they’re eager to help! Please research the past few weeks to see many of the things in progress and contact @beachguy (myself) , @jbg or @spectreproject (mandica) if you feel there’s something else. Keep in mind the community works within a budget that keeps us from doing everything “right now” but there are things in progress….like the translations and upcoming v1.4 Client with a brand new shiny user interface. Thank you all as always for your patience as The Spectreproject evolves. Beachguy

Hi,
I have a question. I started with wallet v1.3.0 on windows. Now I want to move to Mac. I created a wallet backup the windows wallet v.1.3.0 (wallet.dat)
But I do not have an option to import it on wallet version 1.3.3 on my mac.
Thanks
Su
what I would do is send to an exchange.....put new wallet on the mac, send the xspec to the mac addresses.Simple answer is usually the best

You must not have researched too hard....and spec was already taken some time ago. That's why spectrecoin had to go with the ticker xspec. and an ico post by a noob So you guys need to go back to the drawing board.

Spectreproject Weekly Update ending Sunday Sept 10,2017
This will be a little shorter than usual since the recent storm conditions in our state of Florida has us (and many, many others) without power. So I’m working from my phone. First the numbers - Slack reports 33 new members to the Spectreproject since last report. I’ll add the list when power allows. Developer Nuts & Bolts - V1.3.2 with the zero balance fix AND a Mac wallet release. See announcements for links and details. Next up on @jbg’s agenda is the building of v1.4 that is clean build of the xspec client with a new GUI and much better code base. @jbg also reports that @brycel is now contracted by @spectreproject and working full time this month. I’m sure you all join me in welcoming them. Last - Several members here have suggested to me that we should find a way to raise some funds for @jbg to maintain our momentum both for development and marketing/promotion for Spectrcoin….as it becomes attractive to more and more people. It was suggested that a ready, steady source of funds would be simply donating a small percentage of our respective stake rewards. This seemed like a great painless way for each of us to do something….or not. This is not begging, badgering or putting the arm on anybody. Simply a suggestion. From now on I’m committing to 100 xspec a week from my staking to go to the Spectreproject. In closing…..I appreciate everyone’s thoughts in this recent storm...happily, other than a few days of anxiety and what appears to be possibly a long time without electricity we’re fine. The Caribbean Islands and South Florida ravaged by Irma are another matter …..keep those millions of people in your thoughts and prayers. Until Next Week, Beachguy
