121  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Wallet Help on: April 26, 2024, 10:25:59 PM
I became fascinated with the whole Bitcoin blockchain concept, and wanted to be a part of it. So I decided I would run a node to contribute. The included wallet made it seem even greater, but I wanted to use a hardware wallet as they seem to be more secure.

If you have an extra laptop or PC you can run Bitcoin Core offline(Not full node) and never connect it to the internet and be safe from any attack online and let your current Bitcoin Core full node and use it as your watch-only wallet.

For me, its a way safer but it's a bit technical when making a transaction compared to when you use a hardware wallet directly to your full node. Trezor is a good option as suggested above because it supports multiple coins but if you only want to save BTC then an offline or cold storage wallet is enough.
122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EMC2 unable to withdraw from komodo wallet on: April 26, 2024, 07:39:19 PM
EMC2 is altcoin or token this is not the right place to talk about this.

I suggest only use a wallet that support this coin since you mention Electrum it doesn't support other coin than Bitcoin so if you have a backup seed phrase or key to recover your wallet you should be able to recover your wallet by importing it to a wallet the supports this coin.

I research a bit and it seems Coinomi support this coin if you have a backup key you can import it to coinomi wallet.
123  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Check twice before sending transaction if it will impact your privacy negatively on: April 26, 2024, 06:45:32 PM
Whenever I read about this, I consider that most of us on this forum are guilty of this. We use the same addresses when applying for signature campaign and also our bitcoin addresses has been public. Also, it will make no sense to keep changing bitcoin addresses every other week by sending a PM to the signature campaign manager. What do you say about this. We are vulnerable and exposed.
He was just pointing to privacy which is a good way to prevent someone from tracking our Bitcoin but the problem is all addresses that we use in the signature campaign are always public there's no way right now to make our BTC private because we already posted our BTC address here on the forum and all transaction are recorded on the blockchain even we keep changing our BTC to any signature campaign it's still public unless if we sent the BTC to other address which they don't know if we own that address where it sent to.
124  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Can what happened to Samourai Wallet happen to Electrum ? on: April 26, 2024, 05:23:49 PM
It's impossible to happen on Electrum it doesn't have a feature the same as Samourai.

Electrum does not have any tools that can be use for money laundering and we're using it as alternative lite wallet because Bitcoin Core needs more resources than Electrum.

The government only seeks for wallets or services that can be used for money laundering maybe Sparrow and Wasabi both of them have the same features as Samourai.
125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does a permissionless bitcoin multisig exist? on: April 25, 2024, 10:17:26 PM
I want 2 of my 3 hardware wallets to approve any transaction for any asset on any network, including Bitcoin. Do you know of such a product?

For other assets I don't think you can do that in trezor only 4 thirdparty wallets are supported check the link below

Exodus have multiple coins and token supported but it does not have multisig feature but Electrum it does but it only support Bitcoin.

For Electrum multisig guide trezor already have a video guide about this check the link below.

So you don't have any choice but to use multisig only for Bitcoin and use single key for other coins.
126  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: AVALON 1166 PRO 72 TH ERROR on: April 25, 2024, 09:58:51 PM

Can repair this hash board?

Would you mind to check those components that you pointed to if the only burnt part is the capacitor you can just remove it and it should work just fine.
To make sure that the capacitor is shorted is by using a multimeter to test if it is shorted with the ground remove it and try to run the unit but the image is not clear is the IC and diode burnt?
127  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: How secured are Trezor Safe 3 ? on: April 25, 2024, 09:45:10 PM
Well we're not a developer but if you check their Github page it seems most of the developers agree that their source code  is safe so that's the only thing we sure that Trezor is safe.
If there's someone who keeps posting on their GitHub page that it has spyware or any fraud codes inside then Im sure this news will spread immediately here on the forum and into crypto community but no reports that Trezor can retrieve your wallet seed backup.

Why not only run this hardware wallet on offline devices or cold storage since it's allowed to make a raw transaction from an online device to an offline device and only connect your Trezor to offline device for signing a transaction.

Understood, thank you. Yes, I would like to have full control.

Non-custodial should be one of the wallets you looking for.  You can use Electrum for BTC if you want full control, it also have a multisig function and for other coins and tokens I think hardware wallet is the best option than using other wallet you don't need to worry about using hardware wallets even if they are not operating or they closed their business just make sure choose a hardware wallet that generates a seed phrase backup because that's the only backup you need to recover your wallet to other wallets in case the hardware wallet is no longer working.

If you are interested to hardware wallet then check this link below.

And take note of the multi-sig wallet it is not good to use on a daily basis because of the transaction fee.
129  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Avalon 1166pro always restarting on: April 24, 2024, 09:52:24 PM
seems you both were right, I switched the fans back 2 days ago and it hasn't restarted since. I'm a little disappointed because it was working so well until now, guess I have to deal with the noise. thank the both of you

MTmax[84 78 85] MTavg[82 77 84]
Now we see MTmax on the middle drop a lot from 116c down to 78c which is a big improvement after taking the original fan back to the unit.

Why not build something like noise reduction if you can't handle the noise for long? or soundproof box you can DIY for this unit if you want to reduce the unit noise.
Check a sample from the link below.

130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Samourai Wallet seized by the feds on: April 24, 2024, 08:57:08 PM
If there is conjoin campaigs on this forum, theymos could have been planning to ban the conjoin campaigns. But not necessary because there is no conjoin campaign on this forum anymore.

It is possible that Sparrow will be the next target.

It could possibly be the next target to be seized by the government and other wallets with the same feature.
The only wallets that I know with the same feature that are currently not being seized by the government are Sparrow and Wasabi.

It seems the government wants to seize all services that have this feature and no more privacy.
131  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If all your wages were paid in USDT, would you accept it? on: April 24, 2024, 10:09:54 AM
I do not think this is the right board for this topic it would be better if you bring this discussion under altcoin discussion to get a better response.

Since most of people use USDT and it is widely used so why not accept USDT instead of the US dollar because it is easier to transfer than accepting a US dollar? The only risk is how you protect your wallet from hackers I don't think there is an issue with Depeg?

There was a hack that happened I think last 2015 about USDT that made developers push to make a hard fork USDT to make the stolen USDT unspendable. I don't see any other risk of accepting USDT.
132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: starting alt mining soon on: April 23, 2024, 08:51:57 PM
Your choice is pretty expensive you didn't include the cheaper GPU like RTX 4070 super which is cheaper and has less power consumption I won't go with 4090s as you can see it consume much power. If the power rate in your country is a bit expensive the wise option is RTX 4070 super and you can optimize it for power efficiency.

Check this comparison below

133  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will cryptocurrency create peer-to-peer transfer problems in the future? on: April 23, 2024, 08:18:22 PM
I don't think it's a negative aspect of Bitcoin look at those people who use PayPal many people are being scammed with cashback and they never solved this case until now and many users and small merchants or sellers who accept PayPal as payment are always victims with cashback.

It is a pretty bad idea to make Bitcoin the same as Paypal I am fine with Bitcoin except for current network congestion.
134  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Runes push fees as high as 900/vbyte or $196 US on: April 23, 2024, 07:20:40 PM
Totally sucks right? Which you do know that you cant really be able to make out some transaction due to high transaction fees. Yes, it might not be that much of an issue for those people who do have tons of
money but for those who are just that average then it would really be something that would make you hesitate on doing so. This is really indeed the first time in history on seeing Bitcoins fee price did reach almost $200 which it is really that too much for a certain transaction. The fee did reduce but it is really that still playing around $20 on the fee on which it is really just that too much. Im already that missing that $0.1-0.3 Fee.
For sure it would really be that taking up some a couple of days or might be a week before everything would be normalizing. We dont know on whats the reason with this kind of spam transactions
in the network whether those are legit tx or something that talks about spam or whatsoever.
I think the reason behind about this is many people wants to be part of the blockhalving history and there is a runes currently minting on the Bitcoin blockchain which is I think the reason why the transaction fee keeps increasing it almost 2 weeks when the transaction fee is high before block halving and now after block halving the fees is pretty expensive retailers or smallholders can't able to make a transaction due to fees which is higher than the amount they want to send.

There's no choice but to wait or if I'm lucky enough to see a free submission on ViaBTC I will include it right away before it becomes 0.

It looks like Runes and inscriptions are being supported by miners in order to push the fees up.  It is no accident Runes were launched on the day of the halving.

Bitcoin is a peer-to-peer, decentralized network.  Lightning is not peer-to-peer and not decentralized.

The solution is to remove ordinals(Inscriptions and Runes) and make the full 4MB blocks available to transactions which will make the network more efficient.

This is not complicated.  It is common sense if you believe that Bitcoin is "electronic cash".

It is more likely a plan or a manipulation to me which is why there are runes or inscription minting nowadays is to keep the Bitcoin price at the current level this is just my prediction they use it to congest the network so that people can't sell their BTC while block halving remember the recent bearish last week that keeps all crypto collapse during that week and suddenly transaction fees gradually increasing before block halving? People panic to sell so they use runes and inscriptions to keep the network congested and to avoid retailers and holders selling their coins. What do you think?
135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Runes push fees as high as 900/vbyte or $196 US on: April 23, 2024, 06:12:37 PM
The network is very congested every few hours the transactions increase it seems I can't make any transactions today with Bitcoin.

It seems there's no chance to make a transaction today with less fee or a transaction with enough fee that we can submit on Viabtc but the problem is I've waited for almost 6 hours but no available free submissions on ViaBTC it seems there are many users are waiting for free submission? or they temporarily remove the available free submission what do you think?
136  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Antminer s17e found block when solo ckpool mining but no transaction to wallet on: April 22, 2024, 08:33:06 PM
They never give false reports. The logs should report the share

Well, I just heard it on Reddit before and from -ck quoted below

~snip~
Additionally a lot of hardware (from bitmain) doesn't even report found block correctly, and you may have also been mining some altcoin for your pool and not even found a real bitcoin block but some other bullshit coin.
137  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Missing "Transaction" tab in Electrum 4.5.4 on: April 22, 2024, 07:35:10 PM
You cant find the transaction tab in preferences even in view settings you can't find it because it never existed what you looking for is the history tab there is no way to enable or disable this tab because its enabled by default. That is where you can find the transaction under the history tab and by clicking or right-clicking the transaction that is where you can find the "replace by fee".

If I'm wrong why not take a screenshot of your current wallet and let's see why you can't find all transactions?
138  Local / Portugal / Re: Bitcoin segwit on: April 22, 2024, 07:17:46 PM
In which wallet can I see and move my segwit Bitcoins?
They are from the segwit network and not from the native segwit network as in the image.
~image snip~

Just translated what you are trying to say like the above said you can use Electrum just make a new wallet on Electrum and send all of your BTC from your segwit wallet to Electrum.

And I never heard of any Bitcoin wallet that doesn't accept BTC from a segwit address you should be able to receive it from any wallet.
Also, take note of the current network this is not a good time to make a transaction because the transaction fee is very expensive due to network congestion.
139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't Panic for the Halving Hike of Tx. It will come Down Again. on: April 21, 2024, 10:21:42 PM
I don't think they panicked to sell maybe last week when bearish but right now the market looks pretty stable at around 64k.
And about the fees it is due to runes currently in the minting process which is why the transaction fees are still expensive maybe once most of the runes are done in the minting process, we should see the transaction fees would go back to normal.

DCA is a good practice for spot trading and hold it until we see the $100k level let's hope to see this price in  November or December.
140  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Can a Antminer S3 still mine any pool in 2024? For educational use on: April 21, 2024, 10:01:46 PM
Would you mind trying to factory reset the unit by holding the reset/ip report button for 5 seconds then release if successful then setup the unit and test it again.

If still didn't work I found someone who has similar logs and he fixed the issue by flashing the unit again check the link below

If still does not work check this troubleshooting guide below
