1041  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Bitcoin Merch Mars Lander Hardware-Error Rate on: August 24, 2023, 05:31:31 PM
I think the hardware errors came from overheating did you overclocked the miner?

Maybe the power supply is not giving enough power you might need to replace it.
Or I suggest try to downclock your miner and let's see if it could reduce the hardware errors.
1042  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Is there any working CPU/GPU solo mining software still available for learning? on: August 24, 2023, 05:13:58 PM
I've used cgminer a long time ago for that purpose but now I think everything has been changed. So I need a working example in order to achieve my goal.

Why not share your thoughts here what exactly do you want to achieve?
We can maybe give you some idea of what you want to achieve.

I don't know if GPU/CPU still works on mining BTC but why not buy a USB stick miner Compact F or 2pac for your project?

If you are interested check this thread below

1043  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: HOW TO VERIFY PROGRESS MINING BITCOIN WITH ANTMINERS on: August 24, 2023, 05:00:32 PM
If you can access the miner you should be able to check if the miner is working or not and to check if it's actually mining you can keep an eye on the reported hashrate in the pool.

To mine on the same block when mining solo you should point all your miners on the same account.
Sample you are mining solo in solo.ckpool.org when configuring your all miners you should use the same account.

Code:
Pool: stratum+tcp://solo.ckpool.org:3333
User: Your-BTC-Address.0
Pass: x

Isn't worth the wait - ok, I'm convinced. Guess I myself got clogged worrying about dozens of UTXO with a small fund. Actually I use the Bitcoin Fee Calculator you mentioned, it's great.

The  Bitcoin fee Calculator from Coinb.in is not as good as the mempool.space suggested fee and as you can see on the tool under outputs there is no Segwit.

If I were you follow the suggested fee from mempool.space if you don't want a stuck transaction. The fee calculator from Coinb.in is not as accurate as mempool.space.
1045  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Someone displaying their own Ledger seed phrase on: August 23, 2023, 06:32:27 PM
Ledger wallet is a closed source so we do not know what the codes inside.

It would be safer if you create a wallet offline/cold wallet compared to using a ready-to-use hardware wallet like Ledger. In terms of security, why would you trust other software/hardware than yourself to protect your wallet?

If you want to secure a wallet don't ever use a hardware wallet unless it's open source and proven secured but for me, I stay using offline/cold wallet.
The only advantage of using a hardware wallet like Ledger is the ease of use because it supports altcoins and tokens.

I guess that the man who posted the seed phrase publicly is now switching to a Trezor wallet. Weird the seeds from the image looks like a song.
1046  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Are they safe for us? and we should enjoy them? on: August 23, 2023, 12:55:58 PM
These sellers are not forum members.  So I can't check their trust list.  There are various groups on WhatsApp, Telegram to buy and sell them and I bought some services like ChatGPT-4 & Netflix subscription they really deliver.  My question is whether I can have any problem using them?

I have experience on Netflix but yours is pretty cheap I bought a Netflix account with 1 monthly subscription for $3 from a legit seller I don't have any problem except many users use the same account meaning it is shared accounts I'm not the only one who uses the account.
As for me, I've never had any problems until now. However, if you buy a Netflix subscription for $1.5, you might get some issues in the future such as a login issue or movies unable to play because many users use the same account at the same time.

I'm sure ChatGPT has the same issue if many users are using the same account.
Except if you are the only one using it and if it's not a hacked account.
1047  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What cryptocurrencies mining can make profit now ? on: August 23, 2023, 01:51:07 AM
Appreciate your response Man you save me

do you suggest to buy " Bitmain -Antminer S9 13.5T SHA256 1280W Asic Miner " To mine Scrypt Coins Like Dogecoin
i see someone offered for sale on and he write its support Scrypt
as i see in calculator its will make  thousands of dollars every day that's why i think something wrong

That's a scam Antminer S9 can only mine BTC or any Sha256 coins you will never mine a dogecoin with an S9 miner.

Mining Dogecoin has specific hardware to mine this coin any ASIC hardware that supports Scrypt algo can mine Doge sample Antminer L7.

Be careful on dealing with someone always ask here on the forum if you are dealing with a trusted seller.
1048  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What cryptocurrencies mining can make profit now ? on: August 22, 2023, 07:53:05 PM
Mining calculators will help you determine which coins are profitable to mine. If you have a GPU rig then whattomine(already mentioned above) but if you are planning to buy ASIC units to mine altcoins then check this tool asicminervalue.com then edit the power cost with your current electricity cost.

For ASIC, Kaspa is currently the most profitable altcoin to mine with Antminer KS3 units.

About GPU I don't know what coins are currently profitable to mine it seems almost all GPU profits have dropped heavily compared to last year.
It's not worth mining on GPU rigs compared to ASIC miners.
1049  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: i need help recovering a old wallet which i just fund the keys too on: August 22, 2023, 02:51:25 PM
i tried using this wallet named "armory" and i deposited a bunch of bitcoin in it but when ever i tried accessing it, it always was updating the ledger. needless to say i left it alone for like a decade almost.

If it was a decade then the Armory that you are trying to make it work is the old version of it you might be using v0.90 or below.

There is a new forked version of Armory developed by goatpig and take note that there are no seed codes you may be referring to rootkey there are 5 backup types when restoring the paper backup.
Since it was an old version of Armory the backup you have may contain "rootkey" and "SecurePrint" If you don't want to download the full blockchain you can simply install the most recent Armory wallet and import your backup and then backup it again from Armory but this time choose export key list to backup only private keys that you can import to Electrum it doesn't need to download the entire blockchain so you can send BTC right away after import.
1050  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Airdrop instantly to our wallet on: August 22, 2023, 12:54:42 AM
What's the point of distributing a bunch of tokens that cannot be traded? Doing a simple join task in exchange for a token reward always ends up becoming useless.

For them it's not useless they collect people or telegram users to promote their tokens that usually have no value and does not yet listed in any exchange.

They don't even have an announcement about their project it is likely the same as other tokens and NFT games like the game that I installed last year but until now the token that I earn can't be traded because no exchange supports it.

I believe this would turn out to be the same as a scam or Ponzi project or the telegram group can be used to promote other businesses and those who join will receive a pm and they will try to convince you to invest on the cloud mining or exchange that you never heard before.
1051  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some Security Tips on: August 21, 2023, 11:54:59 PM
8- KYC issue: I prefer not to do KYC for airdrops or bounties. If their database gets hacked, your passport can end up in Dark web. For exchanges, I always try to use my Driving License instead of my passport for KYC (some of them only accepts passport :/ )

9- For airdrops I use another email. Don't want my original email get spam emails and I want my exchange email to be safe.

I think better submit an ID like a postal or any ID that can be expired within 1 year or 2 years. Using a passport or driver's license is not a good idea both of these have 5 years or 10 yrs expiration date.

Or better stop hunting airdrops bounties because most of them are scam and usually asks for KYC unlike before you can get them without submitting any documents.

In addition for security tips turn on the "Always use secure connection" so that you can avoid non-HTTPS or nonsecured websites because those sites can view your keystroke or password while typing.
1052  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Ledger doesn't show transaction, it shows up in Electrum. What's going on? on: August 21, 2023, 11:52:46 AM

BTW BitMaxz - I tried plugging the Ledger device into a different USB slot and still no luck with Electrum, though doing it via Ledger Live works fine.

Would you mind to check if the ledger device is up to date? I don't know what exactly ledger device you have do you mind telling us if it's Nano S, Nano S plus, or Nano X?

Or check the latest version of any of these ledger devices from this link below.

Also, what version of Electrum are you currently using? If your device is Nano S there might be a compatibility issue on the latest Electrum version because the last firmware update for this model was released on November 30, 2021, and they no longer provide newer versions.

If you are using the latest version of Electrum can you try to use a lower version of Electrum I suggest 4.3.1?
1053  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Ledger doesn't show transaction, it shows up in Electrum. What's going on? on: August 20, 2023, 11:26:29 PM
Electrum and Blue Wallet have the same next Receive address
Sparrow looks different, they start with bc1. It may be because of the current derivation path (m/84'/0'/0') which I've messed with a bit, don't really understand the derivation path but I do understand it's important.

The next address on the Ledger ALSO starts with bc1, and is identical to the one in Sparrow. Neither Sparrow or Ledger find the transaction. Hmm...
If the addresses on both Sparrow and Ledger start with bc1 these two wallets use the native segwit script type and the Electrum and bluewallet used different script types.

On both Sparrow and Ledger Live, you can switch the script type to legacy or nested segwit you can follow the guide below

For Ledger:

For Sparrow, you can just go to settings under script type and change it to nested or legacy.

Once you are done it should show the legacy or nested addresses and let's hope the addresses are the same as Bluewallet and Electrum.

If it still shows a different address then your last hope is to use the xPub scanner to find the right derivation path and script type.

I went into Electrum and tried creating a new device, connecting to hardware device, etc. But it says "no hardware device detected" even when the ledger is plugged in.

Would you mind trying to plug it into different USB slots or reboot the device and test it again?
1054  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Need Urgent Help To Recover My Old Lost Wallet on: August 20, 2023, 06:03:16 PM
No, even if you have the same specs as your old specs when you generated this WIF key it's still impossible to recover the missing 21 characters it would take decades to brute force these missing characters.

I think you were thinking that you can generate the same WIF key by having the same entropy that is impossible never heard someone succeed in doing this even me I tried that thing past year's ago without success, I just want to recover my old private key due to backup corruption but no it doesn't work.

Be careful on the post below that asks for public addresses and the WIF key with missing characters.
1055  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Ledger doesn't show transaction, it shows up in Electrum. What's going on? on: August 20, 2023, 04:28:10 PM
I doubt it's clipboard malware. OP can see the transaction they made in their Blue Wallet. If it was clipboard malware, the destination address would be something completely unrelated to any of their addresses.

I don't think it's clipboard malware because OP said that the balance is also shown in the Electrum wallet.

What I think is nc50lc might be right that the other wallet like Bluewallet and Ledger Live have different derivation paths.

@OP would you mind to try to use the xPub scanner developed by Ledger it can be used to find the addresses with balances and the right derivation path. You can find the tool from the link below.

Let's hope that it can find the address generated from Bluewallet where you received BTC with the right derivation path so that you can later use that path to Ledger Live and Sparrow.
1056  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Recommendations needed for switching to privacy-friendly mobile OS on: August 19, 2023, 11:59:48 PM
I have a list of Android OS on my bookmarks most of them have open-source code and some of them don't have an open-source or dead GitHub link.

If you want to check you can find it here "Awesome Android OS List"

I never tested other customs Android OS yet listed above except for LineAge, Cyanogenmod, and Clockworkmod this is a known custom ROM before when I have a Galaxy Y phone that can easily flash through Odin.

Right now it's not easy to flash a unit(Newer phones) with modded/custom ROMs if you flash the wrong firmware there is a possibility your phone may become bricked or dead boot which is not easy to fix.

1058  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: S19 single board power consumption on: August 19, 2023, 01:49:38 PM
I think the hashrate on s19 low power mode is roughly 10% so if you only had a single hashboard running at low power mode I guess it's around 24-27TH/s and power consumption of around 800-990w.

If you are looking for a better power efficiency you can try to switch to Braiins OS because I heard someone improve the power efficiency by manually set the power target. You can set the power target to 800w and let's see what hashrate it can achieve but my guess is it's around 26-28th/s.
1059  Other / Meta / Re: Growing SEO spam on Bitcointalk on: August 19, 2023, 11:47:26 AM
1. Using white color and small font size.

Code:
[SIZE=1][url=ffstylishname[dot]com][color=#FFFFFF]Free Fire name style[/color][/url][/SIZE]
Example of the BBcode was taken and modified from https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5441463.msg62717802#msg62717802. Backup link available on https://loyce.club/archive/posts/6271/62717802.html.

I saw the same post as this a month ago or so it is just a plain white to me I thought it is just a bug on the forum but if you do right click and "select all" the text you can see the hidden text.
I'm sure Google hates this SEO strategy it could affect also our forum it must be reported to mods.
1060  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: startup crash of the bitcoin mainnet on: August 19, 2023, 01:33:27 AM
Are you talking about dbcache? It is used to improve the syncing process the default value is 450 but you can increase it depending on your RAM sample you have 8 GB you can set the dbcache to 4 GB or 4096mb.

If you notice that dbcache is changing as you said it goes down would you mind trying to edit your bitcoin.conf file and add this "dbcache=4096" Don't forget to edit the 4096 as I said it depends on your RAM memory.
