121  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Let's report Ken Slaughter / Active Mining to SEC on: March 22, 2014, 03:02:50 AM
If you gave Ken Slaughter money with the understanding that he was going to do one thing with your funds and he did another thing with your funds then that could be fraudulent activity.

If you relied on any information (or prospectus) that Ken Slaughter provided to you before making that investment, and any of the information that was provided to you was misleading or not true that could also fraudulent activity.

If you feel you were the victim of fraudulent activity I'd suggest you contact the SEC.

Making idle threats or possibly retaliating with activity that may also be fraudulent or illegal will probably not produced the desired results.

I just poked about bitcointa.lk and it's pretty fast and very slick.  Very impressive. I'll be watching..
123  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Buying bitcoin $4000 thru BOA transfer & $100Wells Fargo - 99% of Bitstamp price on: March 21, 2014, 06:18:45 PM
Not calling you a scammer.  I'm just pointing out that all of those payment methods are reversible.

Pirateat40
Bernie Madoff and
MtGox

all had pretty good reputations at one time....

bitcoin traders should do their homework

Wait.  You just closed your own order?  All of those payment providers you mention are REVERSIBLE. Including CASH DEPOSITs.  I don't know the op or his reputation.  I'm just saying Caveat Emptor.
125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Satoshi was a "genius", then why do BTC transactions take so long? on: March 21, 2014, 05:29:26 PM
because that is how an eventually consistent distributed consensus system works

We can.... but with the rush of noobs to bitcoin it's always alarming how gullible they are.

This guy's data is fake.  This act was not in the 2011 dump or are any of the account details in the 2014 Gox data dump.

@bcb: are you sure it is possible to link to the userID from the codes in the btc_xfer file? it seemed to me there could only be made a connection between userID and trades but not to withdrawals.

not sure. Still digging through the (very dirty) and incomplete data.

As far as I know the Transaction ID links to the User ID in the btc_xfer file.  That you can use that ID to look up all that transactions in the individual trades files.

I have my complete transaction history going back a few year.  I'm going to check accuracy against that first.  I'll have a better idea of validity, accuracy and the timing of transaction hitting the blockchain.

What are you looking for?  If you want you can pm me. and I'll try to look it up for you.
for a start: where did the 750k go blockchain wise. Maybe we should put up a bounty...

No clue.  There are three months of data missing.  Also plenty of people trying to trace the blockchain with no luck.

To be honest, I think the FED's are in control of his fiat and his private keys (or cold storage). It's going to be a while before the lawyers and courts get to the bottom of it.

(see the trendon shavers case).
130  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mt. Gox user details for sale on: March 13, 2014, 07:02:14 PM
This forum, or maybe half of Bitcoin world, goes full retard lately.

I have never been on a supposedly "moderated" forum before where I routinely encounter full screens of "This user is currently ignored" and where I have been repeatedly infracted myself for absolutely fucking nothing while outright scammers operate with impunity.

Considering this site is what noobs and media first see when they look into Bitcoin, it's hard to blame even scummy, lying corporate media for being horrified and thinking Bitcoin is nothing more than a ditch of iniquity.

PLUS ONE +1+1+1

I can only read here for a few minutes (if I check as all) as the quality of the discourse and and all of the scammy activity is mind numbing.

We need a new, better moderated, Forum.

So the important question, did you still have money on gox?  Wink

nope. Smiley transfered to bitstamp in december.

Dear jaybny,
There has been a withdrawal from your Mt.Gox account:
Transaction reference: d2e0f422-6d94-448c-8d55-e96270bb651e
Date: 2013-12-23 14:30:33 GMT

15 BTC.  Nice Move.

where did you find the transaction?
I guess from leaked btc transfer file.
fucking zlol! bcb that was hilarious!

Dude, You published your transaction number.  Your transaction number correlates with your user ID in the gox data dump.  With your user Id we can trace all of your transactions.  I'm currently correlating the transactions from the dump with transactions in the blockchain. Soon I'll even have your bitcoin addresses. Hope you didn't spend any btc on titsforbitcoin.com or porn.com.  (Don't worry, I won't tell!).

135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: TwoBitIdiots backs away from revealing the damaging documents about TBF on: March 12, 2014, 03:54:43 PM
Can you explain why *you* think impressing Washington D.C. is at the forefront of the foremost foundation in bitcoin?

Do not misconstrue my line of questioning: I appreciate the fact that transparency, compliance, and public perception are easily overlooked necessities in our movement. Especially to a bunch of cryptoanarchic punks who are solely self-sufficient, trustless, open-source etc, btc, etc. I am not one of the latter, I do find it concerning however that this is what a person of your stature in the community chooses to enunciate of all things.

I agree that getting these two new players in TBF is bold moves for bold guys/gal. I'm uncertain whether or not any direction the bitcoin foundation has captained is truly in the greater good's interest..

If you are asking "me" I can only say the the major bitcoin conversation was being driven by Law Enforcement.  After the Gawker article in June 1st of 2011, http://gawker.com/the-underground-website-where-you-can-buy-any-drug-imag-30818160  bitcoin came on the public radar soley for it's ilicit use.  There was no mention of is's previous 3 years of development not the 10 years of cryptographic advancements and the emerging computer science field of distributed consensus that made the bitcoin protocol possible.

Then on June 5th of 2011 US Senator and Senate Banking Committee Member Chuck Schumer jumps on television and demands the shutdown of silkroad which uses the "anonymous" cryptocurrency bitcoin.

http://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/Schumer-Calls-on-Feds-to-Shut-Down-Online-Drug-Marketplace-123187958.html

Then in April of 2012 the FBI report was leaked.  http://cryptome.org/2012/05/fbi-bitcoin.pdf This probably took about 6 months to assemble so the investigation started that Fall.

It wasn't until September of 2012  that the Bitcoin Foundation was created.

Meanwhile the crypto anarachists and libertarians continued to buy drugs on silk road and allow money laundering through its unregulated use of cryptocurrency.

Who do you think was going to win that argument?

So if it not for the efforts of the Foundation in Washington, we could have had a very different outcome at the November 2013 Senate Hearing and I guarantee you Ben Lawasky would not be calling for a Bitcoin license if interested parties were not interacting with these regulators and legislators to aid them in understanding the amazing potential benefits of the technology.

This paper was circulated to policymakers, legislator and regualtors in washington.
http://mercatus.org/sites/default/files/Brito_BitcoinPrimer_embargoed.pdf

This is a Great article about how effective the Foundation was in Washington, helping guide the bitcoin debate.

Yeah what a wonderful idea! After all it is not like we have enough problem with the foundation, let's create another organization! Double the organizations, double the problems  Roll Eyes

I did not realize I could go to the Bitcoin Foundation to check out Bitcoin companies and complain about problems. Thank you for the info, do you have a link for this?

You can't.  The Foundation still has the inputs.io logo on it's "Members Page"
138  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: High-frequency trading (HFT) coming to bitcoin on: March 12, 2014, 03:17:19 PM
More important, this announcement means that real "professional" services, with experience in tradition FX/Trading are entering the market.

This is a good thing and indicates a maturation of the market.

139  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Find Trendon Shavers in person thread... [BTCST, BTS&T, pirateat40] on: March 12, 2014, 03:15:31 PM
It is obvious he lied through that whole deposition.  He's an idiot.  Goes to a deposition without a lawyer.  Admits to destroying evidence among other things.

This guy is going to jail.

Here is a funny recap for those that don't want to read the whole documents.
