I guess they figure that anyone in "crypto" is rich or that nobody would give a shit about finding creative ways to tax it.

Bingo. They nail one guy with 10k bitcoins, and they assume everyone who's touched bitcoin is a whale.

45 been touched  Cool

In Russia, 45 touches you.

Defending yourself from tyrannical governments is precisely what 2A is for.

2A only protects you from amateurs. When the SWAT team enters your home at 3am, your precious 2A ain't gonna do squat.

Not looking good for the bulls

Limp dildo pattern. It can only go up from here.

He's pointing out that there are a lot of bad things but we don't die from them every day. The average lifespan of human s is >75 years. I think we're good.

It's quite remarkable just how long expected lifespan is these days. For instance, someone aged 62 today is expected to live to over 86 years old! Bitcoin sure makes retirement planning easier.

b) that it is due to increases in "greenhouses gases" and by how much and by which percentage of the gases that are anthropogenic.

What's your best guess as to why the CO2 levels are 35% higher than at any other point in the last 800,000 years?

And if a vaccinated person has to isolate, got his mix with the “Green Pass” thing (certification of vaccination or negative swab to access some kind of services?)

Reinfection and/or transmission is still possible. The death toll in England has been steadily rising over the past month. Please people, stop spreading this virus, and stop criticizing people who take precautions!

Quote a source? All the IRS is doing at the moment is trying to not sink. 35 million backlogged tax returns that have to be processed manually. Does the IRS have "criminal" investigations going on? Of course they do, I imagine it happens all the time. Will they file against every business that has touched Bitcoin? I don't think it would be physically possible.

Opsec precludes me from going into further details. IRS Criminal Investigation agents pursue thousands of cases per year. Bitcoin-accepting businesses are in their sights and the summons they issue (without any supporting evidence that a warrant would require) demand copious amounts of financial documentation. If you never ran a business that advertised accepting bitcoin, laugh me off as a wingnut making shit up. IRS agents are not trying to "clear things up", they are trying bust you. Please, if you are contacted, get a lawyer.

Warning to my US-based WO family. The IRS is opening *criminal* investigations to any business that has ever accepted bitcoin as a payment method. If an IRS agent contacts you, say nothing, get a lawyer.

So if any of your friends, family members, or colleagues favor X/Y/Z shitcoin du jour over Bitcoin, just point them to this thread:

https://old.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/og5u6m/its_official_nano_is_no_longer_among_the_top_100/

That's hilarious. Many threads I read on Twitter have someone pumping $nano.

After all, we're targeting 100% vaccination while only about 10% of the US population has tested positive for covid-19 and the mRNA technology is new and still experimental.

If you don't "trust" mRNA vaccines, then get one of the non-mRNA vaccines. In fact, most covid vaccines are non-mRNA.

Or ignorant judges, with no Bitcoin defense team to educate them.

Failing to sign a message using Satoshi's addresses should be sufficient proof he's Faketoshi, and thus can overturn the recent court case, no?

This case is about copyright. Due to a flaw in US copyright law, CSW was able to obtain copyright on the whitepaper. The judge doesn't get ignore valid copyrights.
134  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 04, 2021, 08:13:33 AM
... so any asshat can bring any assclown lawsuit against anyone else and if the defendant does't show up the the judge MUST award to to the assclown by default?

... that sound kind of messed up and open to any amount of gaming and fuckery. Surely the judge gets some discretion in how relevant a case is going to be in his own courtroom, or he's nothing more than a bot.

But the defendant did show up, and refuses to offer a defense. At that point, yeah, an asshat will win. No judge is going to step in play the part of defendant's attorney.
135  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 04, 2021, 04:07:35 AM
that's a ridiculous interpretation, imho.
the f-g whitepaper was PUBLISHED, end of story.
"the whitepaper is in the blockchain"- i fail to understand this statement considering that it was a scholarly article first and foremost.

Yeah, it sucks. But since Satoshi never added a copyright notice to the actual whitepaper, CSW was able to steal the US copyright and sue in a UK court.

Hopefully COPA succeeds in their suit to invalidate the copyright.

What? How is this how Cobra helping Bitcoin? Did he accept the defeat?
The court case was about Bitcoin Whitepapper not about the open source license software.

The judgement prevents Cobra from distributing the whitepaper, directly or indirectly. The whitepaper is in the blockchain, so the software can be used to download the whitepaper. Thus Cobra has to block the source code too.
137  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 30, 2021, 12:09:25 AM
You can't make code changes to get keys for blocks, that wouldn't work. Also, as mentioned before, when it comes to client code patches we can always refuse to update, and a majority most likely would reject in this case, effectively ignoring any court decision.

That's what makes that lawsuit frivolous. Anyone can hard-fork bitcoin. CSW has already done it himself. He can fork bitcoin and send the coins to himself. I can't think of a single case where someone has sued to have a third-party do what the first-party could do.
138  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 27, 2021, 12:35:21 AM
The best theory I have seen (which CSW sued the guy to take the post down so obviously he's above the target) is that Hal Finney was the brains behind Bitcoin using his genius brain to put together all of the pieces created by so many smart cypherpunks before him. He enlisted the help of Dave Kleinman for his expertise as well they were both suffering from the same life threatening disease. While Finney did most of the background work Dave took on the Satoshi character understanding the implications of what they were doing. He knew that he needed to be completely anonymous so he asked his friend Craig Wright for some pointers on how to hide his identity very well. He then took on the "public" persona of Satoshi and was the Satoshi that we all know. He set up the first few nodes while keeping anonymous, bringing in Finney's nodes early on as a non-anonymous node though they likely were working together on everything before that.

Trying to maintain both a public and anonymous persona is ripe for error. The original Bitcoin release was quite small, and totally within the capabilities of a single skilled programmer. I believe Satoshi was a single individual and is not any now-known figure.

I have sent an email to the "Wallet of Satoshi" support asking if there's a way to get "permanent receive address" which can take more than one payment, and also how long these Lightning addresses last. Waiting for reply.

Not directly. But there are additional services that enable very similar functionality such as lnurl-pay. One example: https://lnbits.com/lnurlp/48, "The link or QR code is fixed, but each time it is read by a compatible wallet a new QR code is issued by the service."

The solution is simple: Get your head frozen and have this tattoed on your forehead:

In this brain is the seed code for 10btc. Restore me to life and it is yours.

Then when bitcoin will buy entire planets whole civilizations will devote their best scientists to reviving your sorry ass. And when you are revived you give them the 10btc wallet code...

Then walk out with your 100btc wallet code still in your head. And into a bright new future.

It's pretty much foolproof: If bitcoin craters then who wants to be alive for that. And if the world is a crapsack world you just kill yourself again.

Hal Finney got frozen.
